Is there any way to play the Christian Whitehead port on pc?? Origins just isn't worth my money currently.

This, there’s also a vita port of the pc version that’s really easy to install if you have that particular handheld. Weirdly enough, after that port was made they reported the Vita version of the game back to pc for whatever reason.

Just emulate the original 1993 release on Kega Fusion or burn a CD-R if you've got a Sega CD.

      i need that widescreen tho

why? the game was designed with its original resolution in mind.
That's another con about the taxman remake, it has no 240p support if you want to play on a CRT.

the difference the resolution makes is immense. with widescreen you have a slightly longer frame o time to react to incoming obstacles.

But it does support it. You have to change it in the configurations files, but the game is perfectly capable of running with the horizontal resolution set to 320 instead of the widescreen 424.

also, the taxman versions are remakes, not ports. no code is shared between the retro engine versions and the original games.

oops, sorry, just saw its for sonic cd. in that case, only the first link applies. if you really want to, you can probably find the retail version as a torrent, but a quick check with my regular sources came up empty.

just pirate it at this point. they won't legally let you buy it. (or if you feel bad, buy the ad free upgrade for the free version on mobile at least.)

    Quick questions:
    1. What is the point of going to the future?
    2. What determines how long the time travel post effect lasts? When does the game decide that you are too fricking slow and can’t time travel until you find another post?

      >1. What is the point of going to the future?
None really. It's just there if you want to see the before and after.

      >2. What determines how long the time travel post effect lasts? When does the game decide that you are too fricking slow and can’t time travel until you find another post?
With a post activated, the moment you reach or exceed your normal speed cap you begin the time travel process. You just have to maintain that speed above a certain threshold for about 5 seconds. At about 2.5 seconds is when you'll lose the activation if your speed falls below the threshold.

Eyup, and it had a ton of mods too, but good ol’ Sega removed it for the Origins collection. It’s pretty hard to find online now.

If you bought it it should still be available for download. It's still in my Steam library and playable.
