The same issue was brought up in the case of Origins, which is why I mentioned a last time and 'not evidently'. I don't know if they did end up actually crediting Rafa, but I can't check on the face of it, as I don't know (her?) name proper. On top of it, Rafa got screwed by another developer making a Monkey Ball knock off because she used gendered pronouns or the like when referring to the character who was -I shit you not- supposed to be non-binary. Complaints were made and a termination came. I hope that game failed.
nouns are gendered in latin languages, even objects, something like a monkey, that doesn't indicate any gender in english, is preceded by a male pronoun in portuguese, and ESL people usually formulate sentences on their mind first in their native language.
