Asura's Wrath was an example that you can indeed make an enjoyable cinematic, barely-a-game product, and most people liked it. The time of exclusives is over. Developers can no longer ignore the fact that every household has a PC. If you're not developing for PC you're missing out on a monstrous amount of market share.
At this rate there is no need for there to be 3 major consoles anymore. One of them will go and it's the Playstation. Nintendo has its first party exclusives that they will keep exclusive as well as the advantages of making gimmick consoles (weaker hardware means cheaper production, and portability gimmick gives competitive advantage). Microsoft owns windows and can thus directly profit from PC success. Sony has no clear advantage. Their exclusives are too expensive to keep just to the smaller PS5 market, they have to go to the PC too or they won't meet investor expectations.
