>It's missing the boring parts where you walk around in a high school to talk to people. >Spoiler
But... you haven't played Soul Hackers which IS mainline SMT then.
It had nothing to do with the previous SH which is why everyone hated it.
>Soul Hackers isn't called Devil Summoner 2 even though it actually ties into Devil Summoner a bit >Soul Hackers 2 has nothing to do with Soul Hackers
I'm still so fucking confused, who thought that Soul Hackers was some big name that would help the game's sales? If they just called it Devil Summoner 3 or gave it some new title I wouldn't have nearly half the hate that I have for it
It was clearly rushed and missing content.
You go through the same bland "dungeons" multiple times. Story is paint by numbers and it does nothing with the setting. Characters are a mixed bag but while they are mostly alright, they aren't going to bring any new people in.
1)It's extremely clunky. Like seriously coming from SMT V and P5, Ringo's overworld movement is so wobbly and yet her attack is so slow and stiff it feels painful to play.
2)You don't summon demons. Even in Persona you still summon demons when you fight. Your demons just replace treasure chests and points of interest on the dungeon screen, which of course are all randomized
It did better on the Switch, in Japan it managed to outdo the Wii U version's entire lifetime sales in a month, and we can assume there's some relevant proportional performance internationally, but it wasn't moving Fire Emblem or SMT numbers.
Really the only reason it wasn't totally written off is because they had lots of merchandising avenues and the concerts and stuff, and Nintendo's rotated them into Fire Emblem Heroes proper, so nobody actually lost money. It honestly makes me laugh seeing the TMS characters do better in FEH's CYL polls than most FE characters not from Awakening or 3H and actually make the top 20.
>Female protagonist
Don’t care. Honestly don’t give a shit. I don’t play Atlus games if I can’t self insert. It doesn’t even have to have a story. In Etrian Odyssey, I create one male character specifically (Usually the main dps with the big sword) and name him after myself. The rest of the party is female characters that all love me
Don't try this history revesionism. Nobody was excited for it. It's just that 3 residental retards made countless >Soul Hackers 2 vs Shin Megami Tensei V
threads claiming that SH2 will outsell SMTV, forcing Atlus to port it to PS4/5
When the game came out, and people realise what SH2 actually is, they stoped posting.

I fucking hate anything that isn't the mainline SMT games.

its not really a soul hackers sequel
no press-turn, no fun, simple ass
>I thought everyone was ecstatic about this game before release?
Literally no one was excited for this even when it was announced.
I wasn't ecstatic, but I was excited for Soul Hackers getting a sequel and I was hopeful that it would be pretty good at least.
It… flopped.
the character design tells you enough.
made for genshin impact type of weebs.
Pathetic desperate attempt at making another child porn series
Fuck persona
Fuck atlus
The fucktard who made the double failure that was Tokyo Mirage Sessions used Soul Hacker's corpse to make his own shitty Persona 5 ripoff.
The game had NOTHING to do with the original Soul Hackers.
He must know someone at the company, Tokyo mirage flopped hard yet they still trusted him to do another game
>Tokyo mirage flopped hard
I thought it sold ok just by virtue of being on a starved WiiU
They rereleased it for switch and still undersold

Most FEH gatchafags haven't played FE. They see the literal gatchabait looking TMS characters and vote for them.

Wow a couple thousand more units, what a fucking accomplishment.

it's unexpectedly very grindy. Like seriously, not even Nocturne demanded that much grinding and farming.
The pricing, the game's name and wanting to pander to both, the SMT and the Persona players at the same time.
Not to mention this game has the most money grubbing dlc Atlus has put in a game so far.

That was that smtv schizo with persecution complex trying to make everything about smtv, waifuchads don't care about sales
>waifuchads
Yeah the same waifuchas that made TMS and Soul Hackers 2 a succes- oh wait.
I LOVE RINGO!
Dungeons and combat are shit.
No coom = no buy
SH2 got shitty swimsuit DLC just like the Pursowner games so your excuse for not buying it for that reason is flimsy.
