Not really? By the time I (and from the looks of it, most people) got him to send it out it was Turn 3 of 4 for Rain since he only ever seems to send it out after Grimmsnarl, and since it's first turn is literally always used to Fake Out Rain was gone by the time it started attacking.

I agree even normal mode RR is rough but there IS an eady mode, no shame in easy with a normal and hardcore mode like RR has.
I always play in minimal grinding mode and use the built-in rare candy and dexnav codes to make it go quick for me but I get how that might not appeal to everyone. I also spawn in mons I wanna use early game with codes because I hate waiting arbitrarily long for certain mons so maybe I've forgotten what it feels like. What's the point of me going out of my way of finding a metagross if a butterfree is as good as it? Pokemon should be balanced around where you encounter them during the game, How hard they are too encounter them and other gameplay mechanics. For instance, Octillery might be a bad pokemon but depending on how you handle the amount of pokemon available to you at that point in the game you could easily make it challenging with it's colorful movepool.
