If you're an autismo and enjoy grinding roguelikes, then yes, Side Order is for you.
If you don't like grinding shit and expect something like OE, Side Order is not for you.
It's extremely basic as a roguelike though. With just 30 floors you don't get the chance to become a crazy OP beast slaughtering massive hordes of enemies that get increasingly tougher.

I beat the main 30 floors with the Splattershot on my 2nd attempt.
It gets harder when using the other weapons but I don't know if I want to do that. In order to unlock everything you have to use the other weapons.
This DLC IS NOT Octoexpansion levels of meaningful DLC at all.
killer wail can get stuck on the little guys and get wasted, trizooka I've found is a pretty good get the frick off me tool for when you are being swarmed, especially when you invest into explosion damage/knockback, it's also decent at dealing with far away annoying enemies

I think things like kraken and tristrike are better with less investment, all specials are good if you buff every aspect of them with several dozen chips
Guess it depends if you want a specials build or a different build how much investment, reef and unironically stamper are good if using a lot of special boosting chips, but lame if you arent.
I hope that the next Splatoon's single player campaign shakes things up a bit. I'm getting a bit tired of the segmented levels. Maybe have the game take place in a more open Inkopolis. The boss fights are still stellar though.

what are you finding difficult, I don't even have all gold SR stage badges but I beat it with stringer
make sure you picking the good color chips for your weapon/playstyle, take advantage of the vending machine levels, get permanent upgrades/live from marina, if you notice you are stuggling/lacking in something in particular in a run keep an eye out for chips that could make up for it

This is actually insane how weak every other weapon is.
So a day before Valentines I went you know what would be funny if I just changed my character from male to female without changing anything else. I always though my player character lean a lot of the gender neutral side in terms of design. I wanted to see if my friends will tell the difference. So on Valentines I did just that and it went poorly. Queue up with my friend but he was on the enemy side so I had to make sure to die by him or die near him so it would make it hard for him to guess. It didn’t work as I got ambushed by him and he definitely noticed.
It’s been about a week and what started out just a joke I decided to keep the female model well into the Fresh Season to see the difference in terms of small things like idle animations and the voice lines for the female inkling. I can definitely see why most people don’t actually pick male inkling in fact you probably barely see them at all. Also my brain is very detailed oriented and I immediately started noticing differences between male and female even the tiniest h to like idle animations on different weapons. It’s so subtle on some but then there is Dualie where it is completely different.

Every boss is an annoying time waster, three of them are "break barrier 3 times and shoot until it regenerates after a set damage threshold" and one is a copypaste posse of recycled AI guys. That's literally it in terms of bosses, for the mooks you get reskinned Salmon Run enemies.

As someone who just completed a brella run... It was pain. The only thing making it half-decent was an upgrade that made it so the brella wouldn't shoot forward, that + 4 close-range damage ups and investing in Pearl just barely got me to the end of the run.

This mode reminds me most of Peglin as a pseudoroguelike. You not only need a build in mind but have to cover for certain situations you could find that invalidate it, putting all your eggs in one basket will potentially end your run.
Funny to see anons here being filtered by this very mechanic though, never figuring out its not just about getting stronger but also covering weaknesses in your build.

All my controllers are breaking and running out of battery. No lie, my 8bitdo had some bumper breaking happening, and then ran out of battery. Joy cons are fricked up as well, so a run was lost cause I couldn't hit my special.
Other than that, I think I can get through all the weapons relevantly quick, so long as shit like that doesn't keep happening.
How do you handle your controllers?
I have two official pro controllers, a launch one and one that came with monster hunter rise at that games launch.
Both work fine, and batteries last at least 20-25 hours, down from around 30.
Only issue is the oldest one has a slight motion drift in splatoon, where if im still, it will move slowly over about 5 degrees then stop, every time.
Get an official one, nintendo make their shit pretty good

Its balanced around the permagrades, if you dont use them it becomes a slog due to low damage, but even if you are up for it, the build variety is so low that it gets stale very quickly.
Theres a reason isaac is still going strong years later despite looking like actual shit, because mechanically its great.
Hades is unironically a simple game to introduce roguelikes to normalgays while wooing them with good VA and presentation. Many actual roguelike fans will say the same, its a bad game mechanically and isnt good past a few cursory runs once you realise how shallow it is.
Side order is a better roguelike to me than hades is simply due to being more interesting to replay with different weapons and chip builds, its got literally nothing to do with difficulty or "tryharding" you deflecting homosexual

I thought it was alright. The fight is pretty easy but the spectacle after was pretty neat and it gave me a smile. It's basically your journey through the tower in one fight, where you're struggling at first and after getting all the chips the game plays itself

If it weren't for ass bias this would be the worst Splatoon campaign yet.
Acht really is just there to hide the fact that Marina joins you 10 minutes after the dlc starts. Everything she did Marina could easily do once she joins.
I play salmon run, and im also not bad at video games so I never found any of the weapons hard to begin with. Sucks to suck I guess but after 20 hours you would be able to chea- I mean, buy all the permanent upgrades and make all the weapons EZ mode. If you havent 100%ed after 20 hours what the frick were you doing? Takes after you get a feel for it, at most, 30 mins per weapon.

Pikmin 4 also had some extremely challenging content, getting platinum on the sage trials is some of the hardest content in any 3D Nintendo game. I think it's moreso that Nintendo is changing some of their philosophies recently and is now allowing more difficulty.

It gets harder when using the other weapons but I don't know if I want to do that. In order to unlock everything you have to use the other weapons.

killer wail can get stuck on the little guys and get wasted, trizooka I've found is a pretty good get the frick off me tool for when you are being swarmed, especially when you invest into explosion damage/knockback, it's also decent at dealing with far away annoying enemies

make sure you picking the good color chips for your weapon/playstyle, take advantage of the vending machine levels, get permanent upgrades/live from marina, if you notice you are stuggling/lacking in something in particular in a run keep an eye out for chips that could make up for it

So a day before Valentines I went you know what would be funny if I just changed my character from male to female without changing anything else. I always though my player character lean a lot of the gender neutral side in terms of design. I wanted to see if my friends will tell the difference. So on Valentines I did just that and it went poorly. Queue up with my friend but he was on the enemy side so I had to make sure to die by him or die near him so it would make it hard for him to guess. It didn’t work as I got ambushed by him and he definitely noticed.
It’s been about a week and what started out just a joke I decided to keep the female model well into the Fresh Season to see the difference in terms of small things like idle animations and the voice lines for the female inkling. I can definitely see why most people don’t actually pick male inkling in fact you probably barely see them at all. Also my brain is very detailed oriented and I immediately started noticing differences between male and female even the tiniest h to like idle animations on different weapons. It’s so subtle on some but then there is Dualie where it is completely different.

It was pain. The only thing making it half-decent was an upgrade that made it so the brella wouldn't shoot forward, that + 4 close-range damage ups and investing in Pearl just barely got me to the end of the run.

Brella is broken with some upgrades, piercing shot and keep your brella is very strong, what makes it work is its versatility. Like, example,
your build if too focused can just fall apart in a floor, brella is pretty consistent no matter the build its just a weak at start thing
Also tried keeping the brella shield launch with knockback and lots of ink-to-special charge chips, very fun but hard past floor 15 to keep it up
This mode reminds me most of Peglin as a pseudoroguelike. You not only need a build in mind but have to cover for certain situations you could find that invalidate it, putting all your eggs in one basket will potentially end your run.
Funny to see anons here being filtered by this very mechanic though, never figuring out its not just about getting stronger but also covering weaknesses in your build.

All my controllers are breaking and running out of battery. No lie, my 8bitdo had some bumper breaking happening, and then ran out of battery. Joy cons are fricked up as well, so a run was lost cause I couldn't hit my special.
Other than that, I think I can get through all the weapons relevantly quick, so long as shit like that doesn't keep happening.
How do you handle your controllers?
I have two official pro controllers, a launch one and one that came with monster hunter rise at that games launch.
Both work fine, and batteries last at least 20-25 hours, down from around 30.
Only issue is the oldest one has a slight motion drift in splatoon, where if im still, it will move slowly over about 5 degrees then stop, every time.

Its balanced around the permagrades, if you dont use them it becomes a slog due to low damage, but even if you are up for it, the build variety is so low that it gets stale very quickly.
Theres a reason isaac is still going strong years later despite looking like actual shit, because mechanically its great.
Hades is unironically a simple game to introduce roguelikes to normalgays while wooing them with good VA and presentation. Many actual roguelike fans will say the same, its a bad game mechanically and isnt good past a few cursory runs once you realise how shallow it is.

An individual run could be 15-25 mins
To beat it, probably 2-3 hours
To unlock everything, do all the weapons etc... i dunno, like, 20?
it's bold and stupid to assume people somehow master all weapons type by default
I play salmon run, and im also not bad at video games so I never found any of the weapons hard to begin with. Sucks to suck I guess but after 20 hours you would be able to chea- I mean, buy all the permanent upgrades and make all the weapons EZ mode. If you havent 100%ed after 20 hours what the frick were you doing? Takes after you get a feel for it, at most, 30 mins per weapon.
I hate it when I get a new player on the opponents side and see him and the team get wrecked, it also doesnt help when his in game name isnt the same as nintendo account so I cant friend request him and cover his ass

There really needed to be more floor types. Enemy variety is fine. Also, the ball boss is objectively shit. Just reskin something else.

Yes. You will run out of unique floors long before you have even finished your second weapon.
Weird too since theres so many things they could pull from, challenge modes, salmon run, lots of different ideas for objectives or floor designs could be made in a few moments... they just... forgot?
