Are any of the bows good as weapons? I've had some success with the reeflux in turf but really can't get the hang of the tri-stinger. Don't think I've ever been killed by one either.

tristringer seems mediocre
it's just not consistent enough
multiple times you hit what feels like a direct but it's only 90 damage hit
I was messing around with them in the lobby and getting way more one hit kills with the reeflux doing horizontal shots at the same distance. The delayed charge is a cool idea but I can barely use it effectively on targets. I can't imagine it's very useful outside of dropping ink on chargers and other mostly stationary targets.
I've 5 starred every bow weapon so far and yeah they're good in ranked
Tri Stringer has an insane skill ceiling but there are only a handful of us in existence outside of X-rank
Have seen my fair share of nutty bow players and yea they can be dangerous. Almost impossible to escape a good bow player

Spamming half charges and partials can stop opponents from chasing you especially in narrow areas. Try shooting half charges toward the ground if someone is trying to chase and you can kill them while the approach.

Stringers aren't chargers or splatlings. They shoot in an arc. Try aiming high to shoot people over cover

One thing I do, especially on stages like inkblot is torture other backliners by spamming arrows where they're likeliest to be camping and preventing them from getting comfortable. Being as annoying as possible to splatlings and e-liters is an important skill.
Sometimes this weapon is a guessing game where you land a partial, and then guess where your opponent ran off to and shoot there. thermal ink seems good for this kind of thing but I avoid it since it seems like a crutch.
this weapon is actually at its best in Tower Control. You can just constantly aim at the tower and get partial kills or oneshots and completely stall the game.

I never use toxic mist but if it has one use it's throwing it at the rainmaker podium when the other team is trying to climb so you're teammates can kill them easier

I can see it working, can slow down your opponent for an easy shot, with the splashdown as a panic. Lot more aggro kit so you can better approach

I'm usually a Hydra enjoyer, don't play Heavy much, but I've been grinding weapon licenses and using the Order Splatling. I'd grown used to long range splatlings being sluggish, but frick me Heavy feels soo good. That much range, that quick a charge, that long a volley duration, it's so well balanced. I was playing this intense back-and-forth rainmaker match on inkblot earlier, I was firing and firing and throwing wave breakers to refill my tank and not stopping, fuuuuuck.

Every advantage the Hydra has is eked out of S3's atrocious map design, that's the objection I take with it.
Hydra is hard countered by every charger in the game. Ballpoint and Edit mog Hydra as far as splatlings go. Hydra is way too slow to get any use.
... Yes, that's my point. Hydra is hilariously outclassed at everything it actually wants to do by better weapons, BUT I believe that it should be even worse. In a game with more consistent flanks, it would be even more hilariously outmaneuvered and at an even worse disadvantage thanks to its horrible speed.

I'm playing it up because autism. I just think it, down to its concept, doesn't fit very well into well-designed Splatoon maps or balance. I can't recall a time when it wasn't totally and evidently ass on pretty much every level before 3. So the fact that it can see any success is indicative of bigger problems. But then again I didn't play every patch so maybe there was a time when it was an extant part of a fun state for the game to be in.
A lot of people stack run speed and play Hydra like a mobile backliner. It doesn't have enough range to be a perch-camper like chargers are.

You mean the jobbers Tien, Yamucha, Krillin? Goku is just built different. But after super saiyan there wasnt really a need for Kaioken. Also multiple genki dama users would be redundant as its such a slow move that requires energy from the entire planet. It would just weaken the spirit bomb if everybody was throwing them off all the time. Not to mention the spirit bomb didnt actually beat anybody until the very end of the series. Krillin and the gang got more mileage out of Tien’s techniques than anything else i.e. Solar flare and the ability to FLY was also a Tien/Crane school thing.

Well Wavebreaker got the recent "echolocator" buff when being thrown, but it's still a bit on the weak side. Stamp got some buffs a while back to increase its shock radius and duration. But then it got a duration nerf, which people generally seemed to think it was fair as it dragged on for quite a while. Frankly I doubt that either receives any more buffs.

Because the mechanics are just enjoyable, tying the in game equivalent of reloading to your movement ability is fun. Also helps that the setting is immersive with its fake language, fake bands, fake clothing brands, fake weapon brands. You can really enjoy the fictional culture.
the movement mechanics make it feel similar to a 3d Mario with platforming and momentum carrying. Being optimal at this and projectile based shooting (there is like 1 hitscan item in the game and it's not good) is a really tricky thing to master, but there are a diversity of weapon mechanics that share a reasonable amount of viability and give them game many angles to be played in.

I think it's like clash blaster in that it's a newb filter, but once it gets to the higher levels of the meta, it really struggles. Lower level players are gonna get mowed down by it though and not know how to counter it.

if you are trying climb at that low of a level at this late in the map being in rotation you are going to get nowhere, you need start to climb right as the map rolls over and don't quit until you get your bronze badge

In the first game against Same Ol', one guy on the other team is using a missile spam build, and he gets off three specials in the first 30 seconds. But the thing is, he isn't killing anyone, and since he's just painting the base, we're winning the fight for mid. So he quits, ending the game early.

Well gootuber is impossible to use. Painbrush is really slow and a bit unwieldy, kind of like a dynamo. Flingza is probably your best option

The jump flicks are what allow you to paint with it and farm missiles, so spam those from a safe distance. Try and be stealthy and use regular horziontal flicks to kill when you're not farming missiles. Rollers like using ninja squid + swim speed

I was just joking but the reason is their social media account has regularly and I mean very regularly made blatant frick ups when posting updates i.e. translation errors, leaking shit early when they're not supposed to, fricked html tags and all sorts of things. And it just keeps happening so it's become a meme. No idea what the delay is this time but it's safe to assume they're fricking up once again
Personally I wish they wouldn't dump everything on Twitter and would let us discover shit for ourselves but that's not the era we live in anymore I guess.
