this, i was nzapping day 1 because it's a versatile weapon that can adapt to any gameplan as fast as you can. succ bombs are just one of the best subs in the game, pair that with a consistent-damage main and a special that turns your team into gods and suddenly you've got a main that can carry a team of randos all the way to S rank

Cooler is good right now, don't know what else you want us to say.
The increased duration allows you to have almost 100% uptime of the buffs, and Ninja Squid not being as used right now means people don't really mind the location downside of it.
Plus the 100% special saver means it also buffs other weapons that have shit special output like blasters.

How do I use Inkjet properly? It feels like I can't get shit done with it even trying to lead my shots.
Mostly I'm useless with it when the enemy team has too much turf because they can easily run and hide.
Know the places they can run and hide then. It's a special that rewards practice, it's a bit unwieldy at first. Once you get the aim down it's pretty nice. It's a great tool to try and reclaim an area or push into enemy area

Squigga I guarantee you we're just gonna get an outright new game. They made Splat 2 on a two year timeframe on an entirely new system. In fact I guarantee you Splat 4 is already in development for the new system. Splat 3's broken as tricolor mode and splatfests is reason alone that they'd want to go back to the drawing board and start fresh.
Yes Splat 4 will have tons of asset reuse as all the previous splat games did and will likely be rushed and half baked like all of the previous splat games. But they're not going to re-release Splat 3, don't be a moron.
Why would they release a "complete" Splatoon 3 when they never have done that before and it goes against the entire model of dripfeeding content? They can throw a splatoon game together in no time because they just reuse a frick ton of concept and ideas from previous games. Not to mention they can release it half finished and add content to it later like they always do. That's always been the model and for the foreseeable future that will continue to be the model. An enhanced version would make no sense and there's a lot with Splat 3 that is so messy that they've tried to fix and they just can't. They're better off starting new.

The game is bleeding players and people are losing interest in Splat 3. Rereleasing Splat 3 isn't going to bring that interest back. From a business perspective it makes a lot more sense to just release a new game, it will print money. They had plenty of opportunities to re-release Splat 1 but they never did. Not necessarily. In some cases it makes sense to just make a new game, especially when moving from one system to the other. Yes I realize many Wii U games were ported effortlessly to the Switch but Splat had a few things that would have had to have been reworked, like all of the integration to the gamepad for one.

That's a completely different model of game though. Splatoon is a live-service game focused around regularly drip feeding content. They can't stretch Splat 3 long enough to have 4 years of support. After one year they're already running dry with the support.
Mario Kart is not Splatoon, and mind you Mario Kart is one of the only IPs that didn't get a sequel on the Switch. Splatoon meawhile has had TWO new games on the Switch, and it's a relatively new IP. There's no way in hell they're not releasing Splat 4 on a new console, don't be fricking stupid people. I'm all for doomposting but this is just a moronic contrarian take. I wouldn't put animal crossing as one of their biggest franchises until around new leaf, maybe even new horizons and would you look at that, around then is when we got the mobile game, smash characters, amiibo cards/figures and two spin offs to keep people interested in the ip, on top of that animal crossing isn't a live service multiplayer (as in most of the content is multiplayer only, I know it has multiplayer) game series, it came out in a time where live service was difficult and the vast majority of people didn't have internet connected consoles and the base games themselves would made to enjoyed over the course of years
I guess they could try the mobile route with splatoon but with how complex the controls are and how high speed the gameplay is doing a mobile/touch screen conversion of the gameplay would be near impossible, maybe they could try doing a spin off but with the current team seemingly just coasting on the formula from the previous games I'm really doubtful
honestly I would like to see something more original/unique in the splatoon world, a spin off of some kind but looking realistically at how it is now I just don't see it happening, they'll rush out a new mainline game to keep the momentum like they did the last 2 times

Xeno 3 and TotK were finished for ages, Nintendo admitted as much. Splat games can be churned out in two years or less. Splat 2 was drying up and you saw how much money all three of those games printed, barring Xeno 3 which was never a huge seller. Nintendo got a huge cash infusion for little effort.

That's all you really need to make from scratch. Then you can reuse old stages, old gear, old single player assets and voila, you have a new Splatoon game. The point of releasing yet another half baked game is because that's the fricking business model! Low effort, makes a lot of money. Fans of Splatoon want it to be something more, but Splat 3 and Splat 2 were both resounding successes, as was the first game. Even with every game's problems people still will buy them out the ass, at least japanese will. It is what it is. I had high hopes for Splat 3 and got burned hard. Looks good enough for me. Clash is kinda weak as far as DPS goes though. Dualie squelchers are also a bit meh here. But E-Liter and squeezer are both solid. This group might struggle with paint output a bit.
SG rotation looks like it has pretty shit damage. Squeezer is nice but I think I'd rather have the splattershot pro. Aside from E-liter, the other 3 weapons could use some damage buffs

This is why the seasonal model was a mistake. Before they could update the game whenever and however they wanted, but here there's a certain expectation that they're just not able to live up to. Personally I had fun with the game and even if it turned out to be relatively disappointing, it's probably time for me to move on anyway.

Now they're all small and happening less frequently. Even from the company's perceptive the old way probably has it benefits in that they can release updates whenever they feel like the game could use attention. Now seasonal updates come one after another and barely register a blip.

I was looking over the updates of previous game to compare them to the updates we've gotten in a comparable timeframe and Splat 2 had hairstyles added in an update. It's hard to imagine such a thing happening with this game but yes, they DID do that at one point.
Yeah our pool is even better when it comes to Salmon and we don't use any of that shit. The more you play the more you'll get the hang of it. Follow the golden rule of luring easy bosses to the basket and killing statics (stingers, flyfish, and bigshots) when they appear, but don't linger by the shore. Kill trash too and you'll be golden.

Glowfly is tricky but every stage has a good spot for glowflies. Basically you post up in a corner that's near the basket that only has one entrypoint and kill anything trying to cross that line. One person goes to deposit eggs but the barrage is neverending. It's much easier if you have a roller defending that chokepoint. Learn the good areas. If your opponent says "this way" and they're all huddled up in a corner join them and just keep killing. Use all your specials if you have to, it's one of those kinds of waves. There's a few little tricks that you can attempt to cheese with but they're not the most effective. Sometimes you'll see guys who are aggro'd hanging on a wall trying to lure everything under it. That trick is very limited and is a bit of a newb trap.
Also as for general tips you want to learn what each weapon is good at. A blaster is really good at killing fish sticks, trash salmonids, and stingers for instance. Snipers can kill steelheads really easily. Guns that can turf well should be keeping turf. And make sure to ink the walls. You'll learn over time which walls you'll want inked for escape routes/maneuvarability.
Just use the threads if you need to say something. Just look at the first and middle part of this thread and you'll see us talking to each other about the games as we're playing together.

Know the places they can run and hide then. It's a special that rewards practice, it's a bit unwieldy at first. Once you get the aim down it's pretty nice. It's a great tool to try and reclaim an area or push into enemy area

In fact I guarantee you Splat 4 is already in development for the new system. Splat 3's broken as tricolor mode and splatfests is reason alone that they'd want to go back to the drawing board and start fresh.
Yes Splat 4 will have tons of asset reuse as all the previous splat games did and will likely be rushed and half baked like all of the previous splat games. But they're not going to re-release Splat 3, don't be a moron.

Why would they release a "complete" Splatoon 3 when they never have done that before and it goes against the entire model of dripfeeding content? An enhanced version would make no sense and there's a lot with Splat 3 that is so messy that they've tried to fix and they just can't. They're better off starting new.

Yes I realize many Wii U games were ported effortlessly to the Switch but Splat had a few things that would have had to have been reworked, like all of the integration to the gamepad for one.
Yet they ported Mario Kart 8 to Switch, despite a new Mario Kart being a bigger system seller.
That's a completely different model of game though. Splatoon is a live-service game focused around regularly drip feeding content. They can't stretch Splat 3 long enough to have 4 years of support. After one year they're already running dry with the support.
Mario Kart is not Splatoon, and mind you Mario Kart is one of the only IPs that didn't get a sequel on the Switch. Splatoon meawhile has had TWO new games on the Switch, and it's a relatively new IP. I wouldn't put animal crossing as one of their biggest franchises until around new leaf, maybe even new horizons and would you look at that, around then is when we got the mobile game, smash characters, amiibo cards/figures and two spin offs to keep people interested in the ip, on top of that animal crossing isn't a live service multiplayer (as in most of the content is multiplayer only, I know it has multiplayer) game series, it came out in a time where live service was difficult and the vast majority of people didn't have internet connected consoles and the base games themselves would made to enjoyed over the course of years
I guess they could try the mobile route with splatoon but with how complex the controls are and how high speed the gameplay is doing a mobile/touch screen conversion of the gameplay would be near impossible, maybe they could try doing a spin off but with the current team seemingly just coasting on the formula from the previous games I'm really doubtful

I still want to believe that the game is still feeling effects from development during the pandemic, but by now that's probably not the case. Ultimately I feel like development was just rushed more than anything else and they don't really care to give it the sort of love that Splatoon 1 and 2 got.
This is why the seasonal model was a mistake. Before they could update the game whenever and however they wanted, but here there's a certain expectation that they're just not able to live up to. Personally I had fun with the game and even if it turned out to be relatively disappointing, it's probably time for me to move on anyway.
you do realise that seasonal model is what they actually want because they can stretch the same amount of content they previously added in updates in less than a year over 2 years of official support
I mean from a consumer standpoint because you weren't expecting when updates were coming even if they were small and they would sometimes be larger than you were expecting. Now they're all small and happening less frequently. Even from the company's perceptive the old way probably has it benefits in that they can release updates whenever they feel like the game could use attention. Now seasonal updates come one after another and barely register a blip.

Yes, even if they disconnect late. If your team loses and someone on your team has disconnected, only the person who disconnected will be penalized. The game only counts complete matches for losses.
I've had it happen where someone left while the enemy team was doing their emotes and it didn't count as a loss

I was looking over the updates of previous game to compare them to the updates we've gotten in a comparable timeframe and Splat 2 had hairstyles added in an update. It's hard to imagine such a thing happening with this game but yes, they DID do that at one point.

Yeah our pool is even better when it comes to Salmon and we don't use any of that shit. The more you play the more you'll get the hang of it. Follow the golden rule of luring easy bosses to the basket and killing statics (stingers, flyfish, and bigshots) when they appear, but don't linger by the shore. Kill trash too and you'll be golden.

Glowfly is tricky but every stage has a good spot for glowflies. Basically you post up in a corner that's near the basket that only has one entrypoint and kill anything trying to cross that line. One person goes to deposit eggs but the barrage is neverending. It's much easier if you have a roller defending that chokepoint. Learn the good areas. If your opponent says "this way" and they're all huddled up in a corner join them and just keep killing. Use all your specials if you have to, it's one of those kinds of waves. There's a few little tricks that you can attempt to cheese with but they're not the most effective. Sometimes you'll see guys who are aggro'd hanging on a wall trying to lure everything under it. That trick is very limited and is a bit of a newb trap.
Also as for general tips you want to learn what each weapon is good at. A blaster is really good at killing fish sticks, trash salmonids, and stingers for instance. Snipers can kill steelheads really easily. Guns that can turf well should be keeping turf. And make sure to ink the walls. You'll learn over time which walls you'll want inked for escape routes/maneuvarability.
Just use the threads if you need to say something. Just look at the first and middle part of this thread and you'll see us talking to each other about the games as we're playing together.

Once you can learn to carry those shitters you'll do fine at EVP. Treat it as a learning experience
