You have an invisible starting MMR determined by your past performance playing that mode.
If the game expects you to play at about a 2000 mmr level, and you go 2-3, it'll give you something a bit lower like 1941. This is why someone can go 5-0 and still end up with a lower starting power compared to a usually better player who lost all their matches.
You almost got top 500 because the season literally just started and barely anyone has done their placement matches. With a score that low you'll drop to the 4000s or lower if you don't keep playing.
Oh yeah I know top 500 doesn't mean shit right now. I was like #300 at the start of last season. But it still means I was placed higher than the majority of people and that's what I was confused about because I didn't win a whole lot. Thanks for explaining it tho. My power was pretty high in TC last season so that makes sense.
Yeah, dying is unavoidable if you're anything closer than Bamboozler range. Respawn punisher is a weight around your neck if you're playing on the frontline. But for chargers, Hydras, and Exploshers, it's really strong because you don't have to go anywhere near other players to be effective

with that said, probably run speed up
the edit is very ink efficient so you shouldnt need any savers.
maybe tenacity since the weapon can stay alive well.

The inkable walls definitely help. You can climb up to the grates from basically anywhere on the map. And at least on clams there are 3 ways to the enemy basket. On top of the grate, from the ramp, or from the block off to the side. It's so nice having options again, this is fun as hell. I hope this is how all future maps end up playing because they finally nailed it.

Anyways replace that shit with Object Shredder. The Heavy Edit already tears ass on max charge with it's superior range, high precision, and incredible fire rate, and with object shredder it can waste crabs, bubbles, and even booyah armor and rainmaker bubbles in less than a second.

The inkable walls definitely help. You can climb up to the grates from basically anywhere on the map. And at least on clams there are 3 ways to the enemy basket. On top of the grate, from the ramp, or from the block off to the side. It's so nice having options again, this is fun as hell. I hope this is how all future maps end up playing because they finally nailed it.

Idk, one special saver sub gives you a lot of return and the meta is particularly special reliant. Depends on the weapon. If you're up front more you want special saver, but ideally both.
