At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they only gave us one job per expansion because they seem to have no idea how to make a fresh new one. I can't see it being PUP because that would require and actual pet. People speculated GEO for Krile and I guess that might be it?
It would be cool if ,once we move over to the new world, we would be the class trainers and train a new generation of whatever job you are.
It's super easy to fix the New Job Issue.
Bring in the Sub Job system from 11.
It'll create a large amount of job customisation and allow people to enjoy what they're missing out on with other jobs.

Leveling two classes when that was slow as frick in 2.0 and 3.0 just so that you access ANY job was a moronic idea and none of the actually fun actions were functional as cross-class actions.
The reason why they replaced the system with "role actions" in 4.0 was because the idea was half-baked from the start and it just made designing new jobs even more of a nightmare, it was also why they never ever added a new class to the game again after 2.0 since that entire system was made completely irrelevant as soon as 3.0 made jobs 100% mandatory to clear any current tier content. There are only a handful of things from the old cross-class system I wish they had kept (like Revive on PLD) but I gladly accept the loss of the potential fun that could bring just so that the job system doesn't force you to spend time levelling shit just so that you gain access to specific actions because they are "meta".
It would be funny if Geomancer and Rune Fencer / Knight were the new jobs, since those two jobs were added with FFXI's 'new world' expansion.

There's a guild in Limsa Lominsa, they have characters and banner with a symbol and all that. It's probably the only guild that you cannot join.
Probably they were meant to be a base class for something like Machinist, but it never happened and MCH starts already at 30 with a jobstone.
Musketeer is a base class, Corsair is a job.
They have rifles but every Musketeer character uses pistols. Rostnsthal who trained the Skysteel MCHs in gunplay used to be the guildmaster.

Considering it would have made more sense thematically to have put RDM in Heavensward and MCH in Stormblood and GNB being in an expac which was entirely seperated from the establish lore for the founding of the job. I wouldn't be surprised if the frick this up

How do they make a Rune Fencer/Spellblade archetype distinct from RDM? It isn't like they're going to add another tank. I wonder if they'll do the Corsair type thing so they can have another RDPS (one that wears scouting) and maybe they slap the runes/elemental attack ideas onto a pistol user, a spellslinger type to contrast against MCH.
Rune Fencer was a tank. Though I guess you could tank as a RDM in FFXI with enough effort.

WoL does have some hurt feelings about getting treated as a weapon, but it has more to do with the occasional ungrateful quest giver than with the Scions in general (though yeah, Alphinaud could totally have been part of it at that point in time since he fit the bill). And you also get dialogue choices with Fray to determine if it's genuinely something that wounds WoL regularly or just a minor annoyance while otherwise absolutely loving helping people.

Spellblade combos that have different effects depending on order. Ending with three different spell combos nets you a big attack
Scouting job with some kind of curved blade, would be more akin to old NIN that had a lot of party support stuff. Remove trick attack from NIN and just make it into a selfish dps while mystic knight gets stuff like imbue break to weaken defenses and imbue poison for a dot. After you cycle through your fire/ice/thunder imbues you get to imbue ruinga for a big finisher or something

Meracydia COULD be interesting but I don't have faith in them to really pull it off. It's basically been a complete mystery for the past 5000 years since Allag fell. Imagine some completely unique religions and magic systems sprouting up, doing a FFX themed expansion mixing the dreams of the Fayth with Australian Aboriginal rainbow serpent dreamtime stuff for some really out there off the wall environments. But more likely it will be Tiamat and Allagan stuff.

While BRD and BLM quests were pretty shit, I'd argue he's gotten better. Shadowbringers caster role quest was one of the better ones and I think Dancer quests were fine. I personally think Panda was the most well rounded raid story we've had in a while as well.

He was, a voidsent of that level can't cross over without a big as frick voidgate. And the reason he was on the Source to begin with is because the Mhachi summoned him through a contract and put him on a leash to attack the Amdapori. That's why the nullstone worked. The Diablo Armament in Bozja even starts to summon him back.
You need to accept that he's dead. He would have been eaten by either Golbez or one of the Four Fiends between Bozja and EW due to him having consumed Scathatch, who was one of the strongest Voidsent.

It won't be a Gambler at all. At most they'll have Fighter's Roll as a 3% partywide damage increase every two minutes and Gallant's Roll as a partywide damage reduction but they won't have any kind of gambling attached. It would just have guns, elemental shots, and maybe steal Gil Toss from SAM.

I still go for the reverse red mage idea.
You start with a sword, rack up cards or booty or whatever and then you get a jump back into burst.
Nowhere near as much utility as red mage while having some slight utility and focusing more on self buffs.
If they want to get cute with it and still add another support like RDPS they could make it so melee sword mode gives melee buffs and gun mode gives ranged buffs but that'd be too based.
The most obvious thing they could do with COR would be a reverse RDM that deals physical ranged dmg

Anon, Merlwyb got a 1 or 2 completely unique attack animations this expansion, last time that happen (monk dude in ShB) those unique animations ended up being used as the base for one new action, this time it ended up on RPR. At least one of the jobs that already exist or a new job entirely usually ends up getting animations from shit that has only been performed by NPCs before.
As for a ranged gun job being in the files since 1.0, their animations have been reused in a couple of places but since that job ended up being scrapped very early on in it's development, almost nothing of it still exist in the game files, so the name/icon still being mentioned/shown in the game means frickall as proof for or against a new gun based job
Just make it scouting gear with a cutlace and a pistol. Have range and melee attacks, but not spell based like Ninja or RDM

You build resource with the sword then you can mark a random weak spot and you swap to pistols and have to get to rear or flank to capitalize.
Instead of a rigid rotation it's more meter and timer based so you have a certain amount of time to do your positionals correctly before you lose dps.

They don't change it, you're just missing the part where most voidsent aside from low level bombs and imps have to filter their essence into a vessel on the Source because they can't cross the dimensional boundary. So when you're "killing" a voidsent on the Source you're actually just destroying its vessel which forces it back to where it came from.

The Doman rebellion was actually about Solus's death. And the line about it taking place the previous year is either some kind of frick up, or they decided to consider the turning of the year at the point in which the GC leaders decided it was now Year 1 of the Seventh Astral Era.

In a way this might even be a better approach, it avoids the mindfrick memory meld that messed with Amon/Fandaniel so badly.

The entire point of Elidibus' plan throughout the ShB post-MSQ is redirecting the love and devotion for Hydaelyn (and the WoL) into fuel for his mission. I think this is a pretty clear indication that Ascians have been doing shit like this for a long time. Admittedly the approach that Elidibus takes is unique, being a weird primal of hope thing and not just an Ancient guy like Emet and Laha, but I don't think it is a stretch to imagine the other Ascians using similar tactics to give them sundered Ancient foot soldiers willing to help the cause.
