It sounds quite lazy too: "don't be creative, just copy the games and cater to oldgays!" when most customers will have likely never played unmodded STALKER games and feel the game far too barebones and clunky for their taste.

no it doesnt although I also had that misconception despite having some familiarity with modding the gun files. the guns actually have a damage debuff for rapid fire the design goal was to encourage headshots and it makes some sense to account for body armor I guess but the implementation is lacking.

No one who was a fan of the games does. XRay wasn't a part of STALKER, just like the snow and metro of Moscow wasn't a part of Metro - they were the whole of the charm of the game. STALKER outside of Xray is worthless - in 2023 there still isn't a game where getting shot at by AI opponents feels as good as a 2007 jank shooter - and we could all see how bad Metro was when they took it out of the snow levels.
