Downloaded this filth yesterday, intriguing story and atmosphere but a complete rip off of elden ring/bloodborne combat, plagued by the usual stamina illness of these games
Having to wait for a meter to recharge before attacking is not fun in the slightest, it kills the fun and dynamism of fights and makes it feel like a turn-based combat system played in real time, but I fixed it
Download a trainer and do the following, it will turn Lies of P into an approximation of Sekiro:
- Infinite stamina, remember to dump 15 points into vigor so you don't frick up the levelling and end up too OP
- 20% faster attack speed
- 30% reduction in the damage you deal
- 20% increase in damage received
- 50% critical chance
thank me later alligater
CRIME Shirt $21.68 |
I meant minus 50% critical chance, not an increase
Try it, it makes the game insanely addicting to play
sounds like severe skill issue but ok
Just a matter of taste, I beat all those games and adapted to the stamina frickery but I still don't find it fun, sekiro is still the golden standard and it doesn't have stamina management, just posture
If you want to spam never-ending attacks with impunity go play troony May Rope or something equally casual and shitty instead of crying that other games don't ape their shitty sandbag buttonspam combat.
>makes it feel like a turn-based combat system played in real time
Yeah that's the appeal of soulslikes. I guess you've realized that you don't like soulslikes, buddy
anon, download the mod that turns off the AI "boost" and speeds up the enemies to a moronic degree. Thank me later.
You mean the "hard mode" mod? Still haven't checked the mods for this one
Don't care, it's way more fun this way and also I did get to chapter 7 without these modifications just fine
No, the one that removes the AI "boost" that the devs added last minute. Without it, the enemies are slower and less stupidly aggressive, so stamina is a lot more manageable.
It's on the nexus, along with an easy mode, but you don't need to add that as well, if you don't want.
Thanks for the tip, but if anything I want the enemies to be faster and more aggressive, and I want my character to be faster and able to retaliate even quicker
it's not about button mashing, I don't want to spam R2 and win, I want to use all actions and buttons with fast reaction time, that's what's fun to me in games like these and that's why Sekiro will forever be nr.1 for me
>Thanks for the tip, but if anything I want the enemies to be faster and more aggressive, and I want my character to be faster and able to retaliate even quicker
That would be great. I was thinking about trying to make it more like bloodborne on the second playthrough. This time around, I am gonna play it like DS1/2, a bit more ponderously, less aggression, and less damage dealt on both ends, but I can see the appeal of having a fast-paced tearing through mad puppets run.
Glad you're having fun
You're just bad at managing stamina. Nioh still does it best since stamina recovery is an active thing rather than passive but stamina itself isn't a bad mechanic.
No, just no. Nioh ki pulsing is akin to l canceling in melee. Useless apm spam that makes you feel like you are doing something while you spaz out like an adhd kid on the controller. Stamina management is a dev side issue to perfect the cost and recovery rate. It should not be a fricking apm spasm mechanic. I fricking HATE apm tweakers in rts games. That shit is cancer.
L canceling adds complexity to the game. If there wasn't a different amount of hitsop for hitting a shield, hitting a character, hitting a perfect shield, and whiffing (through spotdodge or dashing back) you'd have a point. Instead each of those leads to a different timing for L canceling meaning you need to predict what the opponents answer to your attack will be or try to react to it as late as possible.
Never played nioh, but you probably should've whine about games you've never gotten close to the skill ceiling in. You'll only look foolish.
You didnt beat the game
I don't like stamina bars either
when you really think about it, it's just an arbitrary hindrance
Pick a game that uses stamina, remove the stamina bar, game immediately improves. If someone feels like it makes a game "too easy", then make the game harder to compensate for the lack of the shitty system.
Any system that passively hinders your ability to move feels fricking awful.
Stamina exists because there are enemies that are designed in a way that the player has the advantage once an attack connects. Without stamina a player could stunlock loop an enemy to death in a single infinite brainless combo. A stamina system retains that power but limits it so that the enemy actually had a chance to retaliate beyond giving every enemy hyper armor and ignoring the player's attacks thus making the player feel weak. Any perception that stamina is a defensive system restriction is the whining of a shitter. I have played dozens of soulslikes and defensive stamina usage is never an issue even in the most dogshit implementations. It's entirely an offensive balancing mechanic.
bloodborne was a mistake
frick miyazaki for encouraging these colossal weapon fast roll spam homosexuals
Skill issue
good gayme
skill issue.
More like fun issue to me, but to each their own
these games are just not for you.
I'm sorry, I'll uninstall immediately
I like the stamina system because it makes you think about your actions and reduces button mashing. At least when it's implemented properly like on dark souls 1.
>Games are not fun when I can't button mash
Lmao
never found it to be an issue, especially in this game.
lmao how are people still malding about the difficulty of this game after all the nerfs they patched in?
because it's horribly unbalanced, to be honest.
in your favor yeah.
kind of? If you like parrying, it's braindead easy. If you don't, it's ludicrously hard. Guess people don't wanna be railroaded into one playstyle.
I guess it is. It's hard to make a game, and Neowiz nailed everything but the balancing
not all game must be easy enough for everyone to be able to play it. you sound exactly like the kotaku writers asking for easy mode in every games.
>you sound exactly like the kotaku writers asking for easy mode in every games.
I didn't say anything about it being easier, though. I'm saying that it ought to be balanced for numerous playstyles. You know, like an ARPG?
Imagine if Dark Souls or Elden Ring was based around a single playstyle. People would lose their fricking minds.
If we’re being honest, everything after ds2 pretty much was railroaded into just dodging. You couldn’t really be a tanky shield guy anymore like you could in the first 2 games.
Yeah...that's kinda true. I always "blame" bloodborne for that. People seemed to see that game and say "yes, fast-paced aggression, that's what they want!" without bothering to balance their game properly around it. Lies of P would be a great contender, as it has the "regain" system, but the stamina bar, like OP says, drains so quickly that it's not viable.
I might try out the changes he makes because that looks like a genuine way to "fix" the game. LOL @ the homosexuals in here that don't know how, so they eat whatever slop they're given
it's purely a skill issue.
Try it I'm having loads of fun with these settings, consider lowering the damage you deal even further so the fights are longer
I don't want an easier game, I want it to be harder and more dynamic
I might give it a go later. Not sure I will do away with stamina entirely, but I might up it by 50% or double it or something. I don't mind stamina management if it's fairly balanced. What trainer are you using? CheatEngine, or something like that?
You can use that too, I'm using fling trainer as it's easier to set up
alright, I'll check that out. Thanks
ER is THE tanky shield guy game. It is the strongest the tanky shield strat has ever been. No one notices because all the other styles are also insanely strong.
>No one notices because all the other styles are also insanely strong.
the problem with shields is you have to heavily invest in them to even come close to being on par with roll iframes, while fast rolling is available to every build from the start of the game by just taking off some armor
why go out of your way to use an inferior option when the best option is given to you from the start?
>the problem with shields is you have to heavily invest in them to even come close to being on par with roll iframes
you literally just have to put barricade shield on a medium shield and you become invincible
still have to find barricade shield
still have to find and upgrade a medium shield
still have to put points into attribute requirements
>you literally just have to push the iframe button and you become invincible
pushing the iframe button has no requirements and is still more stamina efficient. i dont even have to mention the items that let you upgrade your rolls/iframes or scrubhound step because shields will never even approach the current state of the default mid roll
>Guess people don't wanna be railroaded into one playstyle.
Your problem is thinking it's a binary of "only parrying" or "only dodging". The intended way to play is parrying, dodging, and just blocking and attacking to regain. If you're intentionally not engaging in all of the game's mechanics, of course it's going to feel bad.
>dodging
the only reason to dodge in LoP is if you don't know how to parry properly.
You can dodge to reposition or create space to set up for a block or a parry.
dodging is literally a waste of stamina. Each dash you perform is one less attack you can block. Stop running away like a baby, anon, and learn to parry
Parrying isn't the only mechanic in the game, it's not Sekiro. If dodge didn't have a purpose it wouldn't have been included in the game. Claiming it's literally never useful just outs you as a moron who can't comprehend simple game mechanics. most likely a fat American with high blood pressure
>instant seethe for no reason
but anon, I have played the game through like 4 times now and you're just flat out wrong. Plenty of the weapons, for instance, are functionally useless because they're not as good as ones you already have. In fact, a ton of mechanics are just red herrings, and you fell for it. Dodging is for babbies who don't know how to parry and cry when they don't get to roll like their dark souls games. How does it feel knowing they put a crutch in just for you, thirdie?
>n-no it's just there because uhhh [schizo headcanon]
Too many Big Macs, Fatmerishart?
Looks like I hit a nerve faster than all that cheap heroine, eh, you third world mongrel?
>no argument
Fat American pig lmao
>n-n-no a-a-rgumente?¿
kek, just call me Cortez, because I conquered you so hard your whole Favela felt it, Juanita
>fast food-gobbling school shooter is having a meltdown
>jealous of school shooters, because the only people in your whole ghetto who can own guns are MS-13
such is life for a Brazilian monkey-man
>school shooting every weekend in Pigmerica
>this is something the fatass is proud of
>Consuela wants to commit a school shooting, but it's not her turn with the village rifle until next Tuesday
>school gets shot up anyway because they didn't pay their protection to the cartels
must be tough
it's a skill issue.
Wait, they nerfed shit? God fricking damn it that means I'm not playing the real game
Yeah a few bosses got hit with HP/damage nerfs, sorry man.
I fricking hate casual whiners so much it's unreal
why don't you use the trainer to increase enemy damage then?
I played and beat the game before and after nerfs. Every single nerf was a good decision imo and made the game a lot better. Of course single issue gamer difficulty troglodytes will say otherwise but their opinions are worthless.
>It's better because it made the game easier because I'm a casual
Ok
>I wanna spam like in my devil may cry games!
suicide.
>needing a trainer on the easiest and best soulslike
not going to make it little one, also its gator zoom zoom
>This game is only good if you download a trainer because I'm a casual troony that sucks
Kek
Based OP refusing to be limited by the game's mechanics and making it play how he wants to. A true breath of fresh air from all the developer groupies you find on here.
>OP's boyfriend is posting while sucking his dick
>you can mod games on PC guys!
>wait, no, not like that!
>what do you mean you pirated this game? the developers put denuvo on it for a reason!
Suck off the developer some more. You don't stand out from all the rest of the groupies.
>talking about sucking dicks
The jokes literally write themselves.
>>what do you mean you pirated this game? the developers put denuvo on it for a reason!
Nice strawman. Back to deepthroating OP's dick.
Did they make the game easier?
I played the demo and pirated the game now that there's a crack but it feels like the game is easier than it was in the demo
it feels like it. I remember Parade Master being much harder in the demo. They also put a stargazer right next to his arena, whic made the run back shortcut completely pointless. Why would I ever need to use it if I have a stargazer right next to the shortcut?
>pirated this shit yesterday
>combat felt floaty
>my controller barely vibrated
>uninstalled after 20 mins.
What a shit game.
>my controller barely vibrated
why would that be important?
>tranimetroon has shit taste
Many such cases.
>troonytrantroontrantran has le shit taste
Black person got that troony dick deeply lodged in his brain lmao
>complete meltdown
im just sick of souls likes at this point. and thats only me playing dark souls 2, 3 , and elden ring. I tried lies of p on gamepass but immediately felt the souls fatigue.
Your stamina runs out from walking up a flight of stairs.
Rent free.
>Pirates get a hold of a game.
>All discussion of that game on Ganker immediately goes to shit.
A tale as old as time.
Call your internet provider and tell them you cancel
Great thread OP
I left for 30 minutes and you turned this thread into the usual spamfest of politics and organized railroading of a discussion talking about trannies and incels
find something better to do
It gets better after the Scrapped Watchman once you reach the hotel and you can start to customize your character.
>Ganker when they cant mash a button through every encounter
mad cuz bad
also didn't read
