I can say from testing that she's still a Hunt character and can still hypercarry if you use her right. The added follow-up characters are a bonus, really, she's great without them and even better with them. Personally, I went to get her because follow-up attacker meta only improves from here and the more that gets added, the more value she has, like Kafka was for DoT.
While I would like a fire oriented carry, I have way too many overall and I kinda want to actually play with Kafka sometime soon.
I'm sure we will get more follow up characters eventually that will increase her overall viability but I'm thinking of holding out for a Eru/Dest Phys character that's good.

Luofu was so clumsilly written that I would rather have prolonged dead/filler patches to hone their storywriting that have a half-assed product since they really do deliver. Honkai is well-known for having good veteran writers and it really shined with Belobog. I think the problem with Luofu is that there might be too many people writing for the arc at the same time. There are multiple guest writers and one of them was rumoured to be from the Genshin team. You could really tell there's something different from the way Yukong's arc was written compared to the supposed main story with Dan Heng's "redemption" arc. Dan Shu and the mara zombie plague arc ended bizzarely. It might be what the devs wanted be the main storyline for Luofu but aren't allowed to, probably due to orders from the communist party's bureaucracy. It might be too on-the-nose given how China handled Corona-chan back in 2020 lol. I hope they can do better in Penacony.

Can cleanse decently - but so can most all but one abundance. She can revive too with E2 but ideally you aren't having characters die often.
Her kit used to be better but it's pretty eh now i feel. No real reason to roll for her if you already have 2/3 good sustain characters.
Is endgame supposed to be dogshit boring even if you're not F2P? I just find myself logging in, doing dailies, and nothing else because it takes for fricking ever to build a single character. First Gacha, btw.
Unless you are constantly refreshing, yeah that's about right for gacha.
I haven't done the math for star rail because a lot more of the power comes from rng relics rather than steady income but I did do a lot (waytoofrickingmuch) of math for arknights.
End game there for building a character looks like about a month to a month and a half of passive income from your base and about two weeks of material farming to upgrade them from base to final.
A single skill from base level to full power is another three weeks of farming per skill and some characters you do upgrade multiple skills.
This is ignoring farming of several items as well which could add up to another week or two of farming.
All in all that's going to be about a month and a half to two months per character to get them up to snuff and usable.
At least for me part of the fun of gacha if the power creep isn't too insane is the buildup of a roster where you can mix and match to answer just about any situation and need.
A character that's just okay today that you are building for a bit of a niche use case might end up being pivotal to a team down the road because of some quirk.
Kinda crazy to me that this is the norm. I've even considered buying from the contract shop just to speed things up, but they even limit that. Not to mention, it doesn't really feel like money well spent either. 30 Traveler's Guides for slightly more than $5 feels like a ripoff.
It's a shame because I find building teams the funnest aspect of this game, but not when it insists that I need to stop as soon as I start. Not to mention, powercreep does seem like it may be an issue, at least judging by Jingliu and such. Topaz is interesting and I considered building her, but it doesn't seem worth the resources now when I need to essentially build 2 complete teams for MoC.
It's just how gacha be. Most of the time they want you logging in every day as it increases the chance of you buying something to speed shit up.
In general the only stuff that's super worth buying is a monthly pass, maybe pick tickets if it's reasonably priced and I do think the paid level of the battle pass here is a decent buy.
I've been playing since the launch of star rail, so about 7~ months and I have 4~ teams with shared characters and I'm finishing up a 5th team that's just being delayed by likely better gear being released next week.
That's 12 characters at max level I consider "usable" with 4 at max but missing levels in relics.
By month 4 I think I was able to fully clear MoC and I do still clear it but with some amount of struggle depending on elements as I don't have a good wind/fire option at the moment.
Even if you look at mmos I want to say you are looking at at least a month to gear your character up once a new raid is out, if not maybe two/threeish if your progress is relatively slow or casual.
Overall any game that's live service nowadays is going to try and balance having enough content to keep people coming back without giving you so much at once you can utterly burn out by slamming your face into it constantly. Even when MOC refreshes I don't try to clear than maybe a couple of stages every other day to not drive myself crazy trying to speed through it each rotation.
It's encouraging to know I can get at least that many characters to max level in that time. I'm on month 3 right now and I agree, the battle pass and monthly pass are acceptable value for the price. Can you clarify what you mean by "pick tickets?"
I can understand the MMO/Live Service comparison, but the major difference right now is just the lack of content beyond dailies/weeklies. I understand there are events and side quests but I've found the side quests to be pretty poor overall and seasonal content has felt like simple asset flipping (the current pokemon event for example). It's one of those as you keep playing resources will build up and you can stockpile some common ones like trace materials without too much issue or concern for the future.
Pick tickets aren't something that hoyo does as far as I know but it's a thing in arknights. You can spend around 30~ usd to pick one of any standard max rarity unit up to and including from a banner that's about 3~ months ago or so? Good pick over rolls if you want to 100% get a unit I feel.
imo for mmos and whatnot there isn't a ton of content that isn't gated unless it's side stuff that doesn't actually do much for your main progression and even that gets gated. Generally I do like that I don't have to obsessively spend a lot of time with gachas so it doesn't bother me too much either way.

The day to day gameplay of any gacha really isn't for everyone. Spending or not doesn't matter there. They aren't called bonsaige without reason. That bonsai doesn't need a lot of your time, but it'll take a long time of regular care to grow it.

Yes that's the point. For some people the only thing keeping them playing gacha games is the dopamine drip. By default this dopamine drip is designed to persist for a very long time. When you spend money on a gacha you give yourself a massive dose all at once but the drip ends far sooner because you either get everything you want or you push yourself to the point that there's very little left for you to squeeze out. You are literally paying to get bored of the game faster and morons do this because they lack self control.

You have no good DPS character. Welt is a supporter more than a DPS. You do have some nice Utility pieces like Tingyun and Pela you can run besides him, but without a DPS to burst enemies you're gonna struggle.
I think right now your best team could be Sushang/Welt/Tingyun/Natasha with the ability to swap out Sushang for Serval and Tingyun for Pela as needed.
You should definitely save for Jingliu/Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae for DPS and Luocha for a true healer because they synergize well with Welt. You should use this site to plan future teams.

He's an upgrade over Fire MC in terms of thick shields and ice weakness break is very common so he's very nice to have. He's probably not worth +10 tracing if you have Fu and Luo but he's a nice 2nd team MOC slot. Personally I love having more cards to play so I'd always build any character I get lol.

Using Kafka as a example, the new dot set is about 16% to 24% better in a situation where the enemy is level 90 (aka moc 10).
This is some really quick and rough math. Likely significantly better if erode from Kafka's sig lightcone counts as a dot for the set as you only need her and one other dot applier to get the full effect.
Regardless defense ignore/reduction is significantly more powerful than other forms of buffing if you are looking exclusively at content that features enemies at a higher level than your characters.

The set is about 8%-11% better than musk or the fire set depending on what you were planning on getting for her.

No one yet. It's a bit limiting in its design and only really sees use in niche setups because of it needing the same element. Something like Pela supporting an Ice DPS, or something like that. It might get better later, if we get more units that support their own element.
Doesn't matter, Luofu isn't the only Xianzhou ship and there are other Chinese planets outside of Xianzhou. Multiple human civilizations across endless planets and most will be Chinese

Huohuo is still pretty strong.
Her healing is mediocre (skill heal is very strong but non-skill heal is very weak), but her debuff removal is super strong.
Her main attraction is the 6 time cleanse and her ulti's ATK buff and energy charge.
Bailu still have her revive gimmick that require no Eidolon levels, plus she heals a lot.
They give her no cleanse because she's standard, I guess.
These days Lynx is better.

The futile solo fight in the beginning is a favorite trope of mine, and the transformation to Fire Preservation felt like a huge power up. The music though! I've seen Hanabi's leaked kit and while she has been nerfed a bit, she's still quite broken in her own right. She also gives crit dmg and crit rate bonuses for SP blackholes like Seele and QQ, and her cone is basically the Harmony version of Seele's LC but better.

Though frankly I think dot teams will also do insanely good in the content. All but one of the four dot characters we have currently has a blast skill and a aoe ultimate and if we keep getting those kinds of characters dot will have insane flexibility and spread for what it can overcome.

There's nothing wrong with raising Tingyun and Asta anyway. Both can support multiple teams and with how the spread is going with the end game having flexibility is a good thing.
Sparkle does look worth the wait, though hopefully I won't hurt my chances of getting Firefly if I try for her, feels like not having another 5 star damage dealer limits my options by quite a bit. In the mean time I guess building up Tingyun, Asta, and maybe Pela for potential teams is the best way to pass the time for now?
Sparkle should be coming in a month or so? I'm unsure of what Firefly does so it's hard to comment there, but if she's Hunt it may not be worthwhile with how well blast does in both the current end game modes.
Tingyun is good for buffing atk and speeding up ults which is pretty genericly good.
Asta does perform better with more copies and can be fairly SP hungry depending on what you are after, but she can give a perm speed buff which is useful for a lot of characters and can let you forgo speed sub stats in some cases.
Pela is good and it's worth building her. SP positive, buff removal and defense shred is incredibly powerful for any team.
Ah. Doesn't look like there's much recent for how he's looking so I can't comment much there.
Guess for now I'll go for Tingyun in the Qingque team so she can fire off more ults, and Pela for the Clara team for element variety. Thanks for the help.

As the other anon said, mainly dot teams. She can increase damage dealt but there's plenty of other supports that do that and add other buffs too.

She fits best in DoT teams, but she also has a niche outside of that because she provides a nice damage reduction. If a party needs a certain amount of debuffs on people at any given time, she works fairly well, so I'd say she's more general than a standard DoT character like Sampo for example, especially at higher eidolon levels.
4pc imaginary, 2p follow up + hackerspace/wheat are all basically the same damage wise.
If you can't stack high speed to get galmoths full bonus inert seems just fine as well.
Kinda shit choices for light cones it seems though.
If you happen to have good 4 piece of img set, then it's good, but farming it is really fricking inefficient and coping with 2 piece followup + 2piece img/musketeer/spd sets should be much easier to put together and competitive dmg wise
his damage is very high, outputs a lot, needs a team that enables him but a SW can do that entirely on her own and he even circumvents the Hunt issue of focusing too much one one target, has a tendency to chip down targets and auto move to the next, very good in MoC but doesn't really fit PF
you should be looking to ditch Clara as soon as you can because the game has left her behind with every mode being a breakfest speedrun
if you are fine with Ratio taking this role, then he's definitely good enough for it
The problem is that floor 1 is generally a LOT faster than floor 2 (that usually has a 2 phase boss which is the same as 3 waves but no cycle reset which makes it really fricking bad), and you better have floor 2's team be REALLY fricking good if you want to keep within 10 cycles with a 4 cycle floor 1. The current floor 1 is also by far the best Clara floor we had in a long time, too.
I like Clara and all, but she needs an actually good and synergizing support asap. Maybe Sparkle is okay. She works fairly well with slow characters that have high ATK but low crit damage.
I didn't say she is bad, I said that you should not be clinging to her. Gearing her is very fricking awkward, her gimmicks have no future in this game and you would know how fricking awful she feels to play if you actually tried for a bit.
Even this video is showing off what is the result, but not what was the journey there. How many times do you think this guy reset this fight because Clara didn't resist the collapse from the arrow? Or because not almost every attack went to Clara? He starts right on top of the mob so the answer is at least once, but you know it was probably more.
And this shit isn't fun. You have no control over it. You never lose because you made a mistake, but because you got unlucky with how enemy attacks targetted shit, with their turn order wasting your enhanced counters on garbage, with Clara taking a bit too many attacks in a row and folding cuz if you geared less damage and more tank you'd be even slower. This list is endless.

Clara is one of the two units from standard that still see use, everyone else fell off horribly but Clara still shows up everywhere. She's basically free being a standard unit, she works in a ton of teams and she's a flexible unit that can be a pseudo tank/subdps or carry if the enemy happens to be weak to phys.

Most buffs are either by turn on the character it's on or per that characters turns. Hence why you don't see Tingyun with Selee often (30.35%) when compared to Selee's pick rate (29.72%) and Tingyun's (65.18%). >Why shielders are so fricking slow?

Is it really that much of a surprise? Luocha is atk scaling Harmony. Destruction has Atk, HP and a break effect now too.

I feel like that kind of stuff is fairly common with Gachas. Arknights has done it since launch with entire braches that all suck except for the one or two 6*s they released later (fighter guard).
I do feel like there's some use for shield units mostly Gepard though. The side modes of SU do favor dual sustain as you get to higher levels and dual healer I doubt will cut it as you do need to prevent some of the damage. Fu can work, but because she takes the damage on herself it can be risky and she doesn't have as many options for outright damage reduction that Gepard can get through blessings.

Mihoyo's is the worst way of doing it since they basically never add new 5 stars to the common pool
and if they do they'll be nerfed into oblivion so that they fit the model of a "standard" 5* RIP my girl Dehya, she wasn't even strong enough to deserve a 1/10th of what Mihoyo did to her.

"Fixing" a bad archetype with a later release is generally okay because sometimes the devs have a better idea of the identity that role is supposed to provide. We have seen some of this in star rail with more focused gear sets (DoT/FU) increasing the power of older characters or new characters making old characters better through synergy.
The actual gacha of how easy it is to acquire characters is absolutely hot fricking garbage in Mihoyo games and star rail is absolutely no exception. I've b***hed here a few times about skipping Jinglu because so little was ice weak to just constantly get ice weak only enemies at the end of high level content since her release.

Apparently they got better with the 1.5 arc but when I was blitzing through it I didn't see it.

Kolosten and Finale were by the same writer, everything pre Kolo+ER were another. ER was specifically him trying to come back in and salvage this shit show because it had bombed so hard due to the new writer, who made the main cast so uninteresting in the newer arc they had to make new characters.

Kolosten at the time was seen as a really great sendoff to Otto and culmination of his entire arc, and I tell you this as someone who used to enjoy mihoyo writing. Even then, I had problems with excessive shilling of Durandal, who's quite literally just a mary sue that gets everything handed to her, and trashing of Theresa, part of the OG cast.
Now in hindsight, with everything else that happened after Kolosten? Holy shit is the arc a disaster, Im ashamed how long it took me to see that. It literally only exists to write Otto out and set up Kevin, the blandest, most boring motherfricker I have seen in fiction as the big bad

There's not really a lot to talk about until the content is out. We have a good idea on what the characters are going to be like but there's always still a chance of some changes before they are in the final build and unless you make your own tool to compare them against other characters it's likely just as easy to wait for the big autists to do the math for you.
I'm sure Black Swan is better than Sampo, but how much better she is needs math that I don't feel like doing and then you have to consider her vs Sparkle where I feel the latter will be more powerful and enable stronger team comps.
I'm also stuck in grinding relic sets again and watching as it's just all garbage.

Skill is a extra 45% crit damage, 50% move forward plus extra crit damage based off her gear.
Talent is 18% dmg up for the team with easy conditions to activate.
Ult gives 4 skill points and boosts talent by up to 30% in the end.
She absolutely favors a unit like DHIL, but I'm reasonably certain she should be able to achieve a 2 turn ult which should result in a very positive SP result and let you use both SP hungry DPS and support together with no issue.
I'd lean towards luxury but it should let you do silly things like Sparkle/Bronya/Jing Yuan where you could likely forgo all speed on him in favor for more damage stats.

I'd say it's aiming to have your relics have 2-3 of the correct substat to get those kinds of rates, plus signature light cone for Topaz.
To compare my Yanqing almost meets all the recommendation on their page and he has a 4* light cone that doesn't provide any stat boots and no incredibly crazy relics I feel.
It's mostly a question of how long do you want to farm the same spot for relics. Though the recent changes with being able to mark relics for deletion when you acquire them, ability to only level to break points and the UI showing which stats got boosted at the break points will make some of the relic grinding easier.
Other characters can work too, just not as well (ex. Sampo and Little Gui detonating their own dots)
But yeah, Kafka is just a great generalist for all dot types
I will be honest, I didn't realize they could detonate their dots like that to help stack. I guess Kafka/Black Swan/Matching element dot/Sustain is the best team here.

I can say from testing that she's still a Hunt character and can still hypercarry if you use her right. The added follow-up characters are a bonus, really, she's great without them and even better with them. Personally, I went to get her because follow-up attacker meta only improves from here and the more that gets added, the more value she has, like Kafka was for DoT.
While I would like a fire oriented carry, I have way too many overall and I kinda want to actually play with Kafka sometime soon.
I'm sure we will get more follow up characters eventually that will increase her overall viability but I'm thinking of holding out for a Eru/Dest Phys character that's good.

Can cleanse decently - but so can most all but one abundance. She can revive too with E2 but ideally you aren't having characters die often.
Her kit used to be better but it's pretty eh now i feel. No real reason to roll for her if you already have 2/3 good sustain characters.

Is endgame supposed to be dogshit boring even if you're not F2P? I just find myself logging in, doing dailies, and nothing else because it takes for fricking ever to build a single character. First Gacha, btw.
Unless you are constantly refreshing, yeah that's about right for gacha.
I haven't done the math for star rail because a lot more of the power comes from rng relics rather than steady income but I did do a lot (waytoofrickingmuch) of math for arknights.
End game there for building a character looks like about a month to a month and a half of passive income from your base and about two weeks of material farming to upgrade them from base to final.
A single skill from base level to full power is another three weeks of farming per skill and some characters you do upgrade multiple skills.
This is ignoring farming of several items as well which could add up to another week or two of farming.
All in all that's going to be about a month and a half to two months per character to get them up to snuff and usable.
At least for me part of the fun of gacha if the power creep isn't too insane is the buildup of a roster where you can mix and match to answer just about any situation and need.
A character that's just okay today that you are building for a bit of a niche use case might end up being pivotal to a team down the road because of some quirk.
Kinda crazy to me that this is the norm. I've even considered buying from the contract shop just to speed things up, but they even limit that. Not to mention, it doesn't really feel like money well spent either. 30 Traveler's Guides for slightly more than $5 feels like a ripoff.
It's a shame because I find building teams the funnest aspect of this game, but not when it insists that I need to stop as soon as I start. Not to mention, powercreep does seem like it may be an issue, at least judging by Jingliu and such. Topaz is interesting and I considered building her, but it doesn't seem worth the resources now when I need to essentially build 2 complete teams for MoC.
It's just how gacha be. Most of the time they want you logging in every day as it increases the chance of you buying something to speed shit up.
In general the only stuff that's super worth buying is a monthly pass, maybe pick tickets if it's reasonably priced and I do think the paid level of the battle pass here is a decent buy.
I've been playing since the launch of star rail, so about 7~ months and I have 4~ teams with shared characters and I'm finishing up a 5th team that's just being delayed by likely better gear being released next week.
That's 12 characters at max level I consider "usable" with 4 at max but missing levels in relics.
By month 4 I think I was able to fully clear MoC and I do still clear it but with some amount of struggle depending on elements as I don't have a good wind/fire option at the moment.
Even if you look at mmos I want to say you are looking at at least a month to gear your character up once a new raid is out, if not maybe two/threeish if your progress is relatively slow or casual.
Overall any game that's live service nowadays is going to try and balance having enough content to keep people coming back without giving you so much at once you can utterly burn out by slamming your face into it constantly. Even when MOC refreshes I don't try to clear than maybe a couple of stages every other day to not drive myself crazy trying to speed through it each rotation.
It's encouraging to know I can get at least that many characters to max level in that time. I'm on month 3 right now and I agree, the battle pass and monthly pass are acceptable value for the price. Can you clarify what you mean by "pick tickets?"
I can understand the MMO/Live Service comparison, but the major difference right now is just the lack of content beyond dailies/weeklies. I understand there are events and side quests but I've found the side quests to be pretty poor overall and seasonal content has felt like simple asset flipping (the current pokemon event for example). I guess this is more acceptable since it is a mobile game so expecting/encouraging players to play hours a day is probably unreasonable, but the game has potential, especially with the Simulated Universe.
Luofu was so clumsilly written that I would rather have prolonged dead/filler patches to hone their storywriting that have a half-assed product since they really do deliver. Honkai is well-known for having good veteran writers and it really shined with Belobog. I think the problem with Luofu is that there might be too many people writing for the arc at the same time. There are multiple guest writers and one of them was rumoured to be from the Genshin team. You could really tell there's something different from the way Yukong's arc was written compared to the supposed main story with Dan Heng's "redemption" arc. Dan Shu and the mara zombie plague arc ended bizzarely. It might be what the devs wanted be the main storyline for Luofu but aren't allowed to, probably due to orders from the communist party's bureaucracy. It might be too on-the-nose given how China handled Corona-chan back in 2020 lol. I hope they can do better in Penacony.

Pick tickets aren't something that hoyo does as far as I know but it's a thing in arknights. You can spend around 30~ usd to pick one of any standard max rarity unit up to and including from a banner that's about 3~ months ago or so? Good pick over rolls if you want to 100% get a unit I feel.
imo for mmos and whatnot there isn't a ton of content that isn't gated unless it's side stuff that doesn't actually do much for your main progression and even that gets gated. Generally I do like that I don't have to obsessively spend a lot of time with gachas so it doesn't bother me too much either way.

The day to day gameplay of any gacha really isn't for everyone. Spending or not doesn't matter there. They aren't called bonsaige without reason. That bonsai doesn't need a lot of your time, but it'll take a long time of regular care to grow it.

Yes that's the point. For some people the only thing keeping them playing gacha games is the dopamine drip. By default this dopamine drip is designed to persist for a very long time. When you spend money on a gacha you give yourself a massive dose all at once but the drip ends far sooner because you either get everything you want or you push yourself to the point that there's very little left for you to squeeze out. You are literally paying to get bored of the game faster and morons do this because they lack self control.

You have no good DPS character. Welt is a supporter more than a DPS. You do have some nice Utility pieces like Tingyun and Pela you can run besides him, but without a DPS to burst enemies you're gonna struggle.
I think right now your best team could be Sushang/Welt/Tingyun/Natasha with the ability to swap out Sushang for Serval and Tingyun for Pela as needed.
You should definitely save for Jingliu/Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae for DPS and Luocha for a true healer because they synergize well with Welt. You should use this site to plan future teams.

He's an upgrade over Fire MC in terms of thick shields and ice weakness break is very common so he's very nice to have. He's probably not worth +10 tracing if you have Fu and Luo but he's a nice 2nd team MOC slot. Personally I love having more cards to play so I'd always build any character I get lol.

Yes. Both sets are great for anyone that follow up attacks or does dots.
I had heard people doomposting that the follow up attack set got nerfed into irrelevancy so I wasn't sure if I needed to actually go farm it any more

man I wish I could see how much numerically better the DoT set is compared to what I was using before, if it's like a 4% increase I'm not spending another couple of weeks refarming Kafka and all her butt buddies when I've been using them fine for so long
Using Kafka as a example, the new dot set is about 16% to 24% better in a situation where the enemy is level 90 (aka moc 10).
This is some really quick and rough math. Likely significantly better if erode from Kafka's sig lightcone counts as a dot for the set as you only need her and one other dot applier to get the full effect.
Regardless defense ignore/reduction is significantly more powerful than other forms of buffing if you are looking exclusively at content that features enemies at a higher level than your characters.
The set is about 8%-11% better than musk or the fire set depending on what you were planning on getting for her.

That's again some really quick and rough math. Since you already have a set farm and it's worked fine for Kafka I wouldn't super bother unless there's nothing better for you to farm or she's been incredibly key to you getting through moc 6-10 consistently.

Frankly if you don't have Topaz, or you have DHL I'd recommend saving for Ruan Mei. I kinda glossed over her last time I looked but her kit looks very strong to me. Decent buffs outside of specialized teams, great light cone if you are willing to roll on those and I wouldn't be surprised if we see more break effect stuff, especially looking at Xueyi which might be a better choice than fish tile on mono quantum teams.
Dr. Ratio is probably in the second half too so I'm just saving for both anyway

Huohuo is still pretty strong.
Her healing is mediocre (skill heal is very strong but non-skill heal is very weak), but her debuff removal is super strong.
Her main attraction is the 6 time cleanse and her ulti's ATK buff and energy charge.
Bailu still have her revive gimmick that require no Eidolon levels, plus she heals a lot.
They give her no cleanse because she's standard, I guess.

The futile solo fight in the beginning is a favorite trope of mine, and the transformation to Fire Preservation felt like a huge power up. The music though! There's nothing wrong with raising Tingyun and Asta anyway. Both can support multiple teams and with how the spread is going with the end game having flexibility is a good thing.
Sparkle does look worth the wait, though hopefully I won't hurt my chances of getting Firefly if I try for her, feels like not having another 5 star damage dealer limits my options by quite a bit. In the mean time I guess building up Tingyun, Asta, and maybe Pela for potential teams is the best way to pass the time for now?
Sparkle should be coming in a month or so? I'm unsure of what Firefly does so it's hard to comment there, but if she's Hunt it may not be worthwhile with how well blast does in both the current end game modes.
Tingyun is good for buffing atk and speeding up ults which is pretty genericly good.
Asta does perform better with more copies and can be fairly SP hungry depending on what you are after, but she can give a perm speed buff which is useful for a lot of characters and can let you forgo speed sub stats in some cases.
Pela is good and it's worth building her. SP positive, buff removal and defense shred is incredibly powerful for any team.

She fits best in DoT teams, but she also has a niche outside of that because she provides a nice damage reduction. If a party needs a certain amount of debuffs on people at any given time, she works fairly well, so I'd say she's more general than a standard DoT character like Sampo for example, especially at higher eidolon levels.

The problem is that floor 1 is generally a LOT faster than floor 2 (that usually has a 2 phase boss which is the same as 3 waves but no cycle reset which makes it really fricking bad), and you better have floor 2's team be REALLY fricking good if you want to keep within 10 cycles with a 4 cycle floor 1. The current floor 1 is also by far the best Clara floor we had in a long time, too.
I like Clara and all, but she needs an actually good and synergizing support asap. Maybe Sparkle is okay. She works fairly well with slow characters that have high ATK but low crit damage.
I didn't say she is bad, I said that you should not be clinging to her. Gearing her is very fricking awkward, her gimmicks have no future in this game and you would know how fricking awful she feels to play if you actually tried for a bit.
Even this video is showing off what is the result, but not what was the journey there. How many times do you think this guy reset this fight because Clara didn't resist the collapse from the arrow? Or because not almost every attack went to Clara? He starts right on top of the mob so the answer is at least once, but you know it was probably more.
And this shit isn't fun. You have no control over it. You never lose because you made a mistake, but because you got unlucky with how enemy attacks targetted shit, with their turn order wasting your enhanced counters on garbage, with Clara taking a bit too many attacks in a row and folding cuz if you geared less damage and more tank you'd be even slower. This list is endless.

Clara is one of the two units from standard that still see use, everyone else fell off horribly but Clara still shows up everywhere. She's basically free being a standard unit, she works in a ton of teams and she's a flexible unit that can be a pseudo tank/subdps or carry if the enemy happens to be weak to phys.
There is no need to take this personally. You don't need to prove anything to me. You can clear every moc with her from now until EOS and I will still tell people that they should build a different dps when they get a chance because she feels like garbage to play.

Fairly standard only 1 buff of the type at a time thing? Most buffs are unique but I can't really think of any character that can stack their buffs unless it's a part of the design.

Most buffs are either by turn on the character it's on or per that characters turns. Hence why you don't see Tingyun with Selee often (30.35%) when compared to Selee's pick rate (29.72%) and Tingyun's (65.18%).

Gepard is the slowest base at 95, but the fastest is only 101 (March) and most healers are under 100 too. Bailu and Luocha both can use Multiplication for a speed increase without really harming their utility.

I feel like that kind of stuff is fairly common with Gachas. Arknights has done it since launch with entire braches that all suck except for the one or two 6*s they released later (fighter guard).
I do feel like there's some use for shield units mostly Gepard though. The side modes of SU do favor dual sustain as you get to higher levels and dual healer I doubt will cut it as you do need to prevent some of the damage. Fu can work, but because she takes the damage on herself it can be risky and she doesn't have as many options for outright damage reduction that Gepard can get through blessings.

"Fixing" a bad archetype with a later release is generally okay because sometimes the devs have a better idea of the identity that role is supposed to provide. We have seen some of this in star rail with more focused gear sets (DoT/FU) increasing the power of older characters or new characters making old characters better through synergy.
The actual gacha of how easy it is to acquire characters is absolutely hot fricking garbage in Mihoyo games and star rail is absolutely no exception. I've b***hed here a few times about skipping Jinglu because so little was ice weak to just constantly get ice weak only enemies at the end of high level content since her release.

We have a good idea on what the characters are going to be like but there's always still a chance of some changes before they are in the final build and unless you make your own tool to compare them against other characters it's likely just as easy to wait for the big autists to do the math for you.
I'm sure Black Swan is better than Sampo, but how much better she is needs math that I don't feel like doing and then you have to consider her vs Sparkle where I feel the latter will be more powerful and enable stronger team comps.

I do generally just ignore that yes. All my sustains have decent gear with only 1-2 pieces that are subpar but not worth trying to farm to replace yet.

I spent a ton of stamina to farm a new set for him and I still need to gamble on a better rope because the one I have currently is utter garbage.

Skill is a extra 45% crit damage, 50% move forward plus extra crit damage based off her gear.
Talent is 18% dmg up for the team with easy conditions to activate.
Ult gives 4 skill points and boosts talent by up to 30% in the end.
She absolutely favors a unit like DHIL, but I'm reasonably certain she should be able to achieve a 2 turn ult which should result in a very positive SP result and let you use both SP hungry DPS and support together with no issue.
is it really worth getting her with most of the previous harmonies being just as or more cracked than her? or is it just luxury?
I'd lean towards luxury but it should let you do silly things like Sparkle/Bronya/Jing Yuan where you could likely forgo all speed on him in favor for more damage stats.

Kafka and a support. If you had a dot team before she would just replace Sampo.

I'd say it's aiming to have your relics have 2-3 of the correct substat to get those kinds of rates, plus signature light cone for Topaz.
To compare my Yanqing almost meets all the recommendation on their page and he has a 4* light cone that doesn't provide any stat boots and no incredibly crazy relics I feel.
It's mostly a question of how long do you want to farm the same spot for relics. Though the recent changes with being able to mark relics for deletion when you acquire them, ability to only level to break points and the UI showing which stats got boosted at the break points will make some of the relic grinding easier.

Yes but you'll need atleast one other DoT unit, best being Kafka
I'd say Kafka is really a must for Swan to shine well. She really speeds up the stacking of the dot.
Other characters can work too, just not as well (ex. Sampo and Little Gui detonating their own dots)
But yeah, Kafka is just a great generalist for all dot types
I will be honest, I didn't realize they could detonate their dots like that to help stack. I guess Kafka/Black Swan/Matching element dot/Sustain is the best team here.
