So how come on Twitch, Cyberpunk has 10 times as many viewers? It stands to reason that this ratio would be somewhat perserved between the two platforms. Explain that.

Because cyberpunk is an action game which fulfill the zoomer addiction on twitch more than bg3 ever could. People who enjoy bg3 play for themselves or with a few friends, not to entertain kids on twitch.

Everyone got BG3 on steam since it was available there first for a couple years in EA. Lots of people got Cyberpunk on consoles and GOG. You’re seeing a mere fraction of the cyberpunk player base vs 80+% of the BG3 player base. BG3 isn’t really popular on the PS5. It’s currently 14th behind Cyberpunk around gameslike RE4, Fall Guys, Saint Row, are closer in popularity.

It is a really well crafted, engaging game that offers a huge amount of player choice to multiple very different playstyles.
The game makes the player character the centre of the story (unlike cyberpunk) and his decisions are what drives the plot.
The game has a multitude of hand-crafted environments, with diverse, hand crafted encounters. Even if they are on the easy side, it offers enough variety that it doesn't get boring and samey - or not as fast (unlike owlcat's games).
NPCs have their own stories throughout the game which intertwine with the player's, and the player has the ability to put them on his preferred track, ignore them completely or even kill them outright. (Unlike Starfield).
The tone is more or less consistent, and while the story is mediocre, there are a few genuinely well presented epic scenes which aren't undercut by random lolrandumb idiocy seconds later (unlike DivOS 1-2).
But you probablyu don't care about any of that, you just want to sheethe about the bearfricking.

So... every competent cRPG ever did the same thing. You are praising BG3 for things that were standard for 20 years.
How many cRPGs have you played in your life if BG3 blows your mind so hard?

              Anonymous

I already listed recent RPGs in my post that didn't do the "same thing". In fact, actually only a precious few games ever did so well with them across the board as BG3 have.
If this would have been the industry standard 'for the past 20 years' I would be a happy man but it isn't. And I have played most of what the genre has to offer.
The only things that come to mind that might surpass BG3 on these grounds are:
              - Solasta for the 3 dimensional turn based tactical scene (but it is barely an RPG)
              - Harebrained's Shadowrun games (not the first one, but Dragonfall and Hong Kong) for reactivity and the ability to use your PCs backgrouds to solve problems through dialogue. (but its combat is a lot more simplified)
              - Some Neverwinter Nights player made modules for the same thing (but they are still RTWP and you have no real party in them)
              - Maybe Wasteland 3 for the worldbuilding and story aspect (but its combat system is an absolute shitshow and you don't really have living party members)
But hey anon, if you are so chock full of RPG titles that do everything as well and better as BG3 from the past 20 years, then why don't you share some?

                >Atom RPG
Shitty translation, zero polish. It can be fun, but unless you play one of the few meta builds it's a horrendous experience. The many options in its character creation screen are mostly just a trap.
                >Gamedec
Apples and oranges. No combat system and no character creation. It's okay with what it does but it needs to pul its had out its own ass, because it's not as special as it thinks it is.
                >Caves of lore
Have not heard of this one, I might check it out.
                >Troubleshooter
U wot m8? I played like 20 hours of it and was bored out of my mind. Maybe it gets fun 50 hours in or if you are in it for the best animu waifu or something.
                >Vagrus
Death spiral simulator where you need meta knowledge about the 'correct' way to play the game to progress. Also more of a caravan simulator than an RPG.
                >Age of Decadence
I really like this one, but come on. It is painfully unfinished, and they went full in on a particular type of build, everything else is an afterthought at best and unplayable at worst.

Not him but I played it as a combat guy (Mercenary I think it was called), a Merchant, and a Loremaster
I guess you mean that only the latter gets to know all the intricacies of the setting? That's a great feature which I like very much. There was plenty of content anyway for the other types

Not sure how much has been added, but when I played it after release you could make characters that were unable to get out of the tutorial.
But it isn't just that, everything in the game felt really empty. It's as if they made the questlines, the npcs and the checks around a speech focused character and then ran out of steam. The game has exceptionally strong bones but there is almost no meat on them. It doesn't help that the combat system is absolute trash as well.
I started out as a combat character, gave up after the first town then rerolled as a shady thief type of guy, got to about halfway along and decided that the emptiness just ruins all immersion.
And I was really hyped for that game. Maybe I should go back and see if someone made a good mod or something for it.
