>over 13 Million copies sold
well guess there goes your narrative that Starfield flopped, absolutely insane numbers for a brand new IP locked to one console platform, you love to see it

Toddbros stay winning
If they can retain the 1.6 million that went through the unity for two years this game will hit 2 billion.
i don't think this changes the fact of how much of a reputation hit bethesda took, with the fricking review responses saying
>uuhhhh, you're wrong. starfield is actually great!
and emil paracuck making a 15 post thread of garbage defending his garbage writing. tes 6 is going to suck, no matter how many copies it sells
12.9 million of those players played on game pass
Snoy cope is real.
i have no horse in the console war, i am a pc chud
Gamepass brings in between a quarter to a half a billion dollars a month, thats a cool 6 billy on average a year…this is not the ‘win’ you think it is
Gamepass subscriptions aren't game sales. And Microsoft has to pay expenses for it.
How is that an own? Gamepass subscribers are most likely gonna pay more over the life of the console then if they just paid for the games they wanted to play.
That hinges on the assumption that they will stay subscribed indefinitely
Gamepass basic is $10 and has around 25 million active users. That means every 6 months, you sell 25 million AAA games, not counting ultimate accounts.
Every single first party game that keeps people subscribed is a net profit.
game pass is not profitable for microsoft
>game pass is not profitable for microsoft
got any more myths to be debunked, Snoy?
You’d have to be moronic to believe this. They pay a tiny fee and royalties for games that they don’t own outright in exchange for getting hundreds of millions in revenue a month. Extremely good margins
It's called gamepass core and it's just a rebrand of Xbox live Gold. It doesn't let you play most gamepass games including Starfield.
in the current economy streaming/subscription services are worth more than one off customers even if they buy the game full price. customers who are enfranchised to a streaming service are way more desirable to a modern media business than one off customers. i wouldn't put it past microsoft profiting something like 20 dollars for a month of game pass for example, thorugh various indirect revenue streams like what it adds to marketing research, valuable customer data and the natural behavior of customers leaving the subscription to bill for the next month despite being finished with their current game, for various points and loyalty rewards or simply out of lazyness or wanting to explore other games.
in other words gamepass = better than you think
those 13 million gamepass subscribers generate more money than if 13 million bought the game. you lose money to storefronts, there are console specific fees as well
>all the cope replies to this post
Xbox fanboys really are delusional lol
financial success != critical success
aren't all the "critics" seething because bethesda blacklisted kotaku?
every person is allowed to be critical of something, and judging by the "mixed" 66% on steam across 85,601 people, there are quite a large number of people who think it's ass
If you ask Sven would he rather have the sales of Minecraft or the acclaim of Last of Us part 2 what do you think he would pick for BG3?
Cope. It is unfair that starfield didn’t get tga this year but xgp users are eating good until 3032
>players
>zero sales on Steam
>hated in player reviews
>Bethesda brand at all time low
>$400M budget
>still hasn’t broken even yet
>10 years to make a game that would have been average if released 15 years ago
No wonder Microsoft suits are pissed
think it was 45% off on steam too at a certain point
Slop enjoyers enjoy slop

Notice how it's worded?
>13 million players
Not
>13 million copies sold
Guess it flopped massively. But not to worry, Daddy Microsoft has infinite money to keep it afloat.
>>over 13 Million copies sold
>xe doesn't know
>40 hours played on average
That's insane too, people are really spending a ton of time on the game.
holy cope
>sold
>13 million players
>1.6 million Starborn
doesn't this mean only 12% bothered to complete the game and then NG+?
>doesn't this mean only 12% bothered to complete the game
poor analysis, Bathesda game are considered for the journey not the completion
Someone did the maths using achievements on steam and Xbox.
Estimated 5 million copies sold on steam, 8 million on Xbox. Considering how Starfield is in the top 10 best selling games in America through physical units alone, that makes the Xbox version pretty popular too without taking into account gamepass.
Who cares? The game is a cultural failure and a devastating hit to the value of the game studio behind it a la Cyberpunk 2077 on launch, only I don’t think Bethesda is going to be able to reignite the excitement the same way CDPR did. Making a lot of money from a product launch is great when it’s popularity doesn’t immediately falter and call into question your capabilities as a business
>game is a success and here's why
>NOOOOOOOOO THE GAME IS A FAILURE OKAY IT JUST IS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>steam achievements
>when you can play it on game pass PC and doesnt get tracked
Sure.
>13 million players
This is so subtle and is actually the most telling thing of all. Refusing to tout sales numbers and instead using “players” when your game is fully playable through a dirt cheap subscription service with a massive install base just indicates failure. Although to play devils advocate Microsoft probably doesn’t want to focus on sold copies in the first place given they do want to push their service
>Starfiend
These are all israeli semantic games to try to hide the fact that it's a flop
>Over 6 gorillion bear asses turned in
I primarily play and xbox and I wanted starfield to be good. I actually felt hopeful for a game for the first time in like, 5 years and it dropped, I played it for like 2 days, got to the first temple and stopped playing it completely. it's just.... boring. I said I'd 'wait for the ability to eat food in the world and not behind ten menus" update, and it came and i still haven't played it. Maybe when the expansion drops? Probably still won't.
>4M outpost settlers
Why? Outpost building is the most BORING SHIT in this snoozefest.
you were simply filtered my homie
My guess is they include any time you drop a beacon.
Before I figured out the controls I was dropping a beacon every 10 minutes.
No clue, because building outposts in the janky shitfest of FO4 build mode was somehow 100x more fun. They must have lost some significant talent who contributed to that system.
More proof that Ganker is just an echo chamber that wants every good game to fail.
>over 13 Million copies sold
That's not what that image says OP
>>over 13 Million copies sold
That picture says nothing about 13 million copies being sold.
It says the game has had 13 million players, and since the game was a day 1 on gamepass I can assure you with 100% that the sales for the game are substantially less than 13 million.
It probably sold 7-8 million at a conservative guess, maybe closer to 10 million. Still incredibly impressive sales, but not 13 million.
Oh wooooww Ganker was wrong once again??? call me shocked
It is the new Tortanic.
> A game Ganker doesn't like that goes on to make over a billion?
Exactly.
Tortanic didn't make over a billion and got turned into f2p slop less than 6 months after it released. It's a legitimately bad game too.
It was "incredibly close" to passing the 1 billion in revenue mark back in 2019.
>It's a legitimately bad game too.
It legitimately has some of the best storytelling in all of star wars, and brutally mogs the frick out of both KOTOR and KOTOR2.
will never not be funny going into these threads reading posts from children with 0 investment into these companies and watching them play sales analysts for products that don't matter.
even better is knowing there's a new crop of morons growing up right now that will be all too eager to step into the current moron's shoes soon as they figure out how to work an address bar or tap an app icon.
Oh look, another one!
>Ganker seethe at the game but has no valid complaints
>any talking point they have is obviously lifted from ecelebs like "no desing document" or "19 000 tri cube"
is it too early to say that Ganker was wrong about starfield?
>>Ganker seethe at the game but has no valid complaints
False
"it's shit/slop/troony/goy/troon/engine/shallow/emil" etc is not a valid complaint though
Use less straw next time
They are in damage control right now, give a few more months until the copium runs out
Sounds like what you're doing
I personally think the game is a 8/10 with some major flaws, I can understand why people dislike it but overall I've had fun with it. I dont understand why people think it's a bad game though.
>is it too early to say that Ganker was wrong about starfield?
You can start today and still be right on time.
Nope
Yup
Nope
Yep
>has no valid complaints
>[Flirt] suck space Black person dick
>go to planet X 13.2 and do the generic minigame to get the shout dragonborn
>go to planet Y 69.420 and do the same generic minigame to get new shout
>slay the dreugr in the "abandoned research facility 420" and get your RARE EPIC™ pistol+2
>just get used to loading screens and cutscenes chopping up the gameplay even on your pciE 4.0 ultra fast nvme ssd
Eat shit corporate cuck.
>do generic
i can say that about any game i didnt personally like.
It can sell 130 million copies.
It doesn't change the fact its a meh pozzed looter shooter.
>>over 13 Million copies sold
>copies sold
>over 13 Million copies sold
It's gonna cost them when elder scrolls 6 doesn't even crack 3 million
Black person
>not even half the players crossed Unity
>the whole point of the game
>no1 cares about ng+
oh no! anyway
>ng+
It's called beating the game. Enter unity and quit, but quitting before the game is over is acceptable I guess.
>same people who talk shit about the game btw
>never even finished it
now thats funny
Lots of people eat McDonalds, therefor McDonalds is the greatest meal of all time.
I want anyone who still defends Starfield to argue how it's combat, story, and setting are better then Cyberpunk 2077, a game that came out 3 years ago and therefor should be inferior to Starfield, the latest "next-gen game".
Starfield looks like it came out in 2016 and is a direct downgrade in every single way from Skyrim and Fallout 4, games that people criticize for story and combat already. You may like the game, but admit you're eating a greasy, half-cooked Whopper made by a 18 year old Pakistani kid for a quick fix instead of anything of actual quality.
Any Starfield fan, I want you to watch this Youtube video and tell me why I should play it over Cyberpunk 2077 and it's DLC right now, when both are the same exact price.

>Any Starfield fan, I want you to watch this Youtube video and tell me why I should play it over Cyberpunk 2077 and it's DLC right now, when both are the same exact price.
That's the thing I don't want you to, the more normies this games pushes away the better.
>Any Starfield fan, I want you to watch this Youtube video
I'll pass
>and tell me why I should play it over Cyberpunk 2077 and it's DLC right now
If you don't want to play Starfield, that's fine. Why should I try to change your when this literally just a game?
Probably around 5 million sales. 2 on Steam and 3 on Xbox. It sold well enough on xbox to top charts, so it couldn't have been too low. It's not a bad number for a gamepass title, but probably not what microsoft were hoping for.
Then why were they responding to reviews and a developer had a meltdown? Grow some skin man
>over 13 Million copies sold
Where does it say that? I see 13m players, but how much of that gamepass. Answer the question Rahjeet.
why are there telemetrics in a singleplayer game
and the lion king remake grossed 1.6 billions.
People are moronic, the quality of mainstream media keeps decreasing in all fields but the numbers keep increasing regardless as the standards are lower than ever
>most deadly lifeform
>ashta
i can believe that, i always get caught off guard by how tanky they are.
