Fix what? Did you not read my post? I don't want to walk aimlessly for 24 hours around a barren planet anyway. I prefer the cell system. Keeping things more contained.
yeah but you dont get the option to use a loading screen to get to another part of a planet, it ends in a barren part nowhere near the other areas of the planet, the mods would have to full design the majority of every procedural generated planet before it could even transition
I played no man's sky because a friend wanted to do co op after they fixed the game up.
What a fricking boring shitfest. It has cool moments. But those fade fast after the initial moment. The problem is it's just literal procedural content in it's purest form in the entirety of the game.
Every planet is going to be about doing the same thing. I don't know if they gave the game a more proper questline or not but it was like taking all the uniqueness out of fallout4, which it lacked on compared to other BGS titles, and leaving only the map with sparse buldings/basebuilding aspects/enemies to kill/stuff to craft.
Kind of like fallout 76, but waaaaay worse. (And less fun)
They keep adding shit to the game it seems but nothing in it is actually fun to do.
>I didn't want to walk aimlessly for 24 hours around a barren planet anyway
But that's how planet exploring in starfield looks like. Lack of ability to do it seamlessly just breaks the immersion, it doesn't make gameplay good.
Which last gen titles did seamless exploration for a game world which contained over 1000 planets as well as vast swathes of Space itself in addition to spacestations, asteroids etc. etc.
>outerworlds
Cartoon bullshit with no gameplay depth. Great game but not comparable to the technical cost of rendering all that space in the kind of detail Starfield does.
You don't understand how processing and rendering and video games in general work on a basic technical level. Midwit. We need to start bringing in Internet passes or something to filter out people with subhuman IQs from using the Internet.

Yes. Let's make our game accessible to only 0.01% of PC owners. Genius.

maybe if current hardware can't support a seamless space RPG they should have shelved starfield and released the next elder scrolls first?
that would have made sense but now they have a gimped space game and a bunch of pissed off elder scrolls gays. great job bethesda.

Or just simply said anywhere that it's not seamless.

I wish I could pick Todd's brain and figure out exactly why and how he came to the decision to work on this instead of TESVI. I know its something he's always dreamed of working on, but his engine and the current tech is still far out of reach of accomplishing what he wants. Meanwhile, a medieval style RPG in a beloved series would have been so simple to make happen and could have funded this passion project for the next 10 years easily

There aren't many decades in a life, anon. Time is ticking.
Procgen will always be soulless. Handcrafted worlds will always be soul. Thats why NMS is pointless garbage, and Starfield will be cool...only in the major cities.
You guys always expect the most of every game. You wanted Starfield to be some groundbreaking space sandbox of infinite possibilities that simulated real life space exploration when a game like that would be impossible to make.
What you're gonna get is an extremely solid RPG with space as the backdrop. And you want more? Gamers are so entitled sometimes. They want every video game to change their life, they can't just accept 'good' experiences.
Honestly this. The Doomposting is so weird, because, this is the same fricking engine they've been using and modifiying for 20 years, what did anyone expect? ALL the signs have been there, we knew there was no vehicles for a while, and that there wasnt seamless travel from surface to planet. Anyone who has played any of Todd's games should know all the signs have pointed to there being cells and many loading screens.
But yeah Todd, as usual, oversold the game. Ganker as usual, overhyped it as "kino in space" and posted the usual Todd=Godd memes, and as usual the game is actually exactly what anyone with a brain was already expecting: a space themed role playing game that will be decently fun, and then very fun with mods.
Gamers are entitled morons who don't know what they want.
If Bethesda tried to put in all the features that people want in this game, then it would end up like another Star Citizen that would never see the light of day.
I thought the planets would be generated endlessly, and I wouldn't waste my time "exploring" that shit. It would be like swimming away from Vvardenfell in Morrowind, just endless sea.
This cell shit doesn't change anything for me.
I didn't care about exploring a whole planet.
I still don't.
But Todd only said "SEE THAT PLANET? YOU CAN LAND ANYWHERE"
Sure, that means you can land anywhere and get a randomly generated cell. But it can also mean that it's a whole planet and you can land anywhere and explore the whole planet, as one big singular entity. And that is what everyone took him to mean.
He did not clarify.
He did not correct.
He did not temper people's wild imaginings with the facts. He just let them hope for something he knew wasn't true.
I didn't give a shit about that concept.
But it's still disingenuous as frick to let people believe it. Especially when you were so quick to temper people's expectations about mounts and vehicles.
>walk around massive planet exploring seamlessly >Ganker: REEEEEEEEE TOO EMPTY >walk around massive planet in cells >Ganker: REEEEEEEEE NOT OPEN ENOUGH >get in ship to leave planet >Ganker: REEEEEEEEE LOAD SCREENS
Ganker will never be happy with any game ever
mods will fix it
Fix what? Did you not read my post? I don't want to walk aimlessly for 24 hours around a barren planet anyway. I prefer the cell system. Keeping things more contained.
this but unironically
literally cannot and not how it works.
skyrim had seamless town transition mods
yeah but you dont get the option to use a loading screen to get to another part of a planet, it ends in a barren part nowhere near the other areas of the planet, the mods would have to full design the majority of every procedural generated planet before it could even transition
Wheres mod to fix morrowind or skyrim to not have cells then lmao
as long as the game has SOVL then it will succeed where No Man's Sky failed
I played no man's sky because a friend wanted to do co op after they fixed the game up.

cellgays are 90% paid shills and 10% unpaid drones
>pathetic shone Gaylords doing damage control for Daddy Todd
lol
lmao even
>you don't NEED seamless exploration
>it doesnt need seamless exploration
the absolute state of starfieldgays
>I didn't want to walk aimlessly for 24 hours around a barren planet anyway
But that's how planet exploring in starfield looks like. Lack of ability to do it seamlessly just breaks the immersion, it doesn't make gameplay good.
The only way they could even attempt that kind of seamless exploration is if the game was always online. And that would be living Hell.
then how did multiple last gen titles do it offline no problem?
>inb4 muh rpg mechanics
>inb4 muh old engine
Which last gen titles did seamless exploration for a game world which contained over 1000 planets as well as vast swathes of Space itself in addition to spacestations, asteroids etc. etc.
no mans sky
and they were an indie company with a smaller budget
comparing starfield planet to nms planet is like comparing football to raisin.
nms
star citizen
outerworlds
moron
>nms
Cartoon bullshit with no depth.
>star citizen
That's always online. Idiot.
>outerworlds
Cartoon bullshit with no gameplay depth. Great game but not comparable to the technical cost of rendering all that space in the kind of detail Starfield does.
>its le cartoony so it doesnt count
absolute brainlet

I think starfield looks cool
You guys always expect the most of every game. You wanted Starfield to be some groundbreaking space sandbox of infinite possibilities that simulated real life space exploration when a game like that would be impossible to make.

It's just sn0is. The Gaming World is still UNITED BEHIND STARFIELD.
What you gonna get is skyrim deep rpg with body type A/B and pronouns
Honestly this. The Doomposting is so weird, because, this is the same fricking engine they've been using and modifiying for 20 years, what did anyone expect? we all know that was viral marketing you disingenuous frick
Why do mods keep deleting threads talking about a VIDEO GAME
Because it's not officially released and leaks are illegal
Gamers are entitled morons who don't know what they want.

Yep. Not sure why anyone is whining about it. I think it's just desperate sn0is reaching for anything.
I don't own a PlayStation 5 and will not be playing starslop.
reminder
>ubifart in 2017
Meanwhile Starfield can't even run at 60 fps on modern hardware.
>can't fly your ship around the planet
>no land vehicles to explore the surface
>loading screens and invisible walls everywhere
I didn't care about exploring a whole planet.
I still don't.
But Todd only said "SEE THAT PLANET? YOU CAN LAND ANYWHERE"

>"SEE THAT PLANET? YOU CAN LAND ANYWHERE"
You literally can though.
I 5 fully explorable planets then 1000 generated slop
I love this new Cope. The segmenting bullshit is also why they didn't bother making vehicles.
Remember when Todd said their system works by building tiles that wrap around a planet and blend them together? Lol
>aimlessly
So the planets are empty, barren and lifeless with nothing to do. I see.
every zone has at least one handcrafted point of interest but the rest of it is procedurally empty yeah
>walk around massive planet exploring seamlessly
>Ganker: REEEEEEEEE TOO EMPTY
>walk around massive planet in cells
>Ganker: REEEEEEEEE NOT OPEN ENOUGH
>get in ship to leave planet
>Ganker: REEEEEEEEE LOAD SCREENS
Ganker will never be happy with any game ever
that's because people want different things
>NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>DONT EXPECT LEAPS IN TECHNOLOGY TO AMOUNT TO ANYTHING
>DONT EXPECT GAMES TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF NEW HARDWARE!!
Shills like you hold our industry back.
