Starfield

I'm just... utterly baffled by who exactly this game is supposed to be for. Who the frick wants this kind of thing in 2023? Compared to literally every other major release in 2023 this thing is just... absolutely nothing.
This is going to be a total embarrassment for Bethesda and I can't wait to see how it backfires on them.

No. gays just want SF to fail hard. Ganker loves to gather around and laugh at any game industry failures, no matter how big or small.

      [...]
So like, what exactly is this game good for? Is it really just atmospheric flight and vehicles?

      The game is 'different'
I've been playing over the last month or two since I had an account from YEARS ago.
Going from planet to space is cool the first time or two, but then you figure out how to QT and it just doesn't even feel that special anymore. Just a 'thing' you have to do.
I'll give Star Citizen credit: Some locations give a good sense of wonder and scale, especially with their ships.
But then you'll just learn just how fricking EMPTY, repetitious, and broken the game is after a week or two.
The giant city planet? literally only one place to go to. Anywhere else is just landing pads you can land on, probably for some delivery box mission.
similar with the other 3 but the earthlike has some scenery and 1 money making zone
The planets are big but there's frick all to do most times except mine and fly to locations for bunkers for more rep grind missions, which are basically a skyrim or fallout cave.
Main loop is just $ grinding. And then once you get the ships you want, then the drive to play is lost quick.
The server crashes, the bugs that are literally at 'FRICK YOU' levels where you can't even trust placing a box on your ship without it falling through/not able to grab it anymore, or even walking down stairs without it sometimes incapacitating you.
Playing the game is like being in a constant state of paranoia wit the game itself.
Yeah, BGS ABSOLUTELY has its bugs and CTDs too, but you can probably reload your save and get some semblance of what you might have lost or download a fix/patch.
SC will let you pay 30 bux for some armor and you can perma lose it just b/c the server crashed when you put it in your ship.
Starfield won't be as in-depth as Star Citizen. Todd's game is not a multiplayer space simulator. But I believe that SF will give normalgays a snapshot of what SC could be when its fully done

        Anonymous

        >when its fully done
star citizen will never be fully done, it has no depth as there’s nothing to do in the game, it’s barren and empty and always will be and no amount of “bedsheet tech” will ever change that

Todd wanted to make it so he made it. Devs become devs because they want to make a game they want to play.
If you're not interested in it don't buy and don't fricking play it, you have the industry overflown by a wide variety of games and shits, the frick you complaining about.

    >mfw all the Star Citizen fanboys who spent thousands of dollars and waited over a decade on a game that does not exist are seething about how SF will surely fail and is for plebs.
    >mfw I'll pay a hundred bucks for a premium version of a game that exists and does 90% of what SC claims it will do, but actually exists because it followed a professional development schedule.
Ouch. How does that feel basedtizens? While you're coping and buying the new "ship", all your less cringe friends will be actually enjoying a real AAA space-faring game.

      >mfw I'll pay a hundred bucks for a premium version of a game
or you could just pay a dollar for goypass to play it on release, and buy it at steam with -75% few years later when good mods will come eventually.

Cyberpunk had a botched launch but went on to become one of the best single player games of the generation. Bethesda's actively delayed Starfield's launch to avoid another Cyberpunk debacle.

It's for Todd. It's his boomer dream game based on the sci-fi aesthetics of the NASA era he grew up in. I have no interest in it as I prefer high-tech sci-fi with aliens and shit.

While from the footage we've seen it looks like there's more clutter that can't be picked up for the sake of being tossed around in low gravity and explosions, there seems to be just as much knick-knack items as before. Random wrenches and the like.

I am very curious why gamer normies are so hyped up on this thing.

All the footage has been garbage, so I am just gonna assume all the hype stems from it being Bethesda's next project and that is it.

I obviously lied; why the frick would I want to watch 45 minutes of trash? The reveal of the game was a terrible looking Fallout 4 mod.

Clearly I stopped following the media campaign, you dumb Black person. 45 minutes? Ffs.

the 45 minute direct was incredible, the hype after it went through the roof and the game quickly shot to the top of the steam sales charts where it has sat in at least top 10 for well over a month, clearly the game is poised to be an absolute smash hit success destined to sell gangbusters on par with Skyrim
