    >modders reserving their spot to make a mod before they even finish the game
The most moronic shit, either release the mod or frick off, this just stops someone else from making it first
Patreon and nexustrannies were a mistake

What other reasons would there be to announce a mod weeks before they can even get access to CK to make plugins with?
Or publishing a script extender that contains 0 extensions?

so they can signal to modmakers that its gonna be coming out, i dont know who created those projects but if it was the devs of previous popular mods then it will just stop others from doing double work, everyone can join on one project.
and if those projects were created by random nobodies then no one will take them seriously anyway

So in other words, reserving their spot to signal that others don't need to work on it?
Doesn't seem like a good thing for anyone else besides those modders, all it does is dissuade others from working on it
I guess it's to be expected for a bethsoft game will all the different mod groups there are though, just glad that arthmoor gay isn't involved this time

Classic Bethesda. If only other developers also allowed such heavy modding, people wouldn't be as upset by when they're released half finished

how does bethesda get away with this?

hasn't bethesda made repeated attempts to monetize work that isn't even theirs? I wouldn't bank on mods.

They unironically do in the end, just means adding 1-2 years to any Bethesda game's dev time to give modders time to clean up the mess.

Did you think I was complementing the game anon? I'll fill you in on how it works then since this is apparently your first Bethesda game.
The game launches a buggy mess and over the course of several years modders undertake the masochistic task of patching the spaghetti code together into something more stable, fun, and balanced. Then players will play the game with a few core mods that keep the game from bugging the frick out and spend a bunch more time grabbing mods they like and the game is at least somewhat playable and enjoyable at that point.
Unless you play on console, then instead you get 1 or 2 bug-fixing "patches" from Bethesda themselves who couldn't make the game work to begin with, and also paid DLC.

is there any proof at all this "Pickysaurus" guy ordering fans to make this patch for free, so he can get it listed on Bethesda's website, isn't just... a Bethesda employee
because that would be a pretty good racket if he were

Starting a community fix before game has even finished it's patch cycle seems pretty insane to me, wonder how many incompatibilities will show up as stuff from the mod gets fixed in official patches etc

        Anonymous

Right? It's going to be a gigantic waste of time and effort and rendered incompatible almost immediately

That's why you don't buy it for 70$. You pirate it or buy it when it's on sale later down the line. There won't even be any mods on release, it would be moronic to buy it when it comes out.

I said DON'T get it on release. Let other cucks beta test the game for you and pirate it or pick it up when it's cheap and the shit is fixed, if you do want to at that point.
