I will give it a few weeks, I still don't like the idea of buying games on release and there are plenty of games I have to get though.
i was going to wait a few weeks too but the new graphics card i bought came with a free copy of starfield so im thinking why not, if i can deal with the classic bethesda at launch bugs might as well go for it. fully expect to have a realistic feel/judgement for this game a month after release

kek the pacing is terrible compare this to ME1 where it took at least a couple hours before you got command over the Normandy and made it actually feel special.
People mod out Bethesda intros consistently with an alternate start mod because they take so long. This is like the shortest intro next to Morrowind. Plus a new game+ mode. They likely didn’t want to spend a lot of time on it.
I don't have a problem with short intros like Morrowind but in a game like this where you command a ship and all I feel like there should be some build up or at least a more sensible way of getting it then some rando just handing you one no strings attached the robot even starts calling you Captain right away.
In ME1, you did the intro mission, went to Citadel and then after doing whatever you wanted there you get the Normandy automatically when leaving IIRC. Its because you got upgraded to Spectre.
Yeah but that actually takes a while it doesn't happen in just a couple minutes and unlike this game Shepherd is a predefined character with some level of accomplishments already by the time the game begins.
