modern shit optimization
most of it is bad textures and the other half is all the shitty voice lines in every single shit langauge that your forced to download and install even if your only using the true english of god which is american language
The Steam page already listed the installation size. Knowing when it goes up for pre-download is new, though, sort of worded like they're poking fun at Larian for not offering preload on BG3.
storage space is used as a way to lock people into a game.
look it up. the reason games like call of duty got so big is that the intentionally take up a lot of space so people have to choose between what to install.
it makes people think twice about what game to play as theyd rather stick with an already installed game instead of having to delete it, download another game and then having to delete that and then reinstall the previous game.
the issue is even worse in the us becaue data caps for wired internet are still a thing somehow.
Uh, why are there no cute girls being advertised? I'm not buying that shit if there are no ads that appeal to me. Get fricking real, bethesdatards. Or I'll just pirate it from Empress, kek.
holy frick i am so ready for a new todd game bros 8 years too long i need more toddslop
"its just fallout 4 in space"
sounds good to me i love me some toddslop
All Gamebryo games are like that. Same content repeating over and over so why need a giant size? Skyrim was like 6 gigs at launch, and it showed with the Draugr dungeons.
>crams into 125GB
I hate that this is considered small for a AAA game now. Literally where is all that size coming from? Game does even look that good.
>preloading >takes several hours (3 or 4) because hdd + shit connexion >naively believe that it'll let me play the game the second it officially comes out >it comes out >oh wait what's that "unpacking" >takes literally 4 hours, as if I'm downloading the game a second time
no thanks, I fell into that trap two times in a row already.
I have "space", but this is insulting. I really don't want to play this game. But I usually play all the spaceship games. I'm very disappointed overall and I'm not excited going into this. I hope they are really going to impress me with the quality of the game.
So the no physical edition thing is real, then? The game is on Amazon, so is it a code in a box, or are they shipping the game in 2+ discs?
Remnant 2 on XSX was in 2 discs, despite the game being like 66gb, which would have fit in one.
What percentage of that 125GB are those whack ass face textures? I'm thinking no more than 20MB.

Never pre-order a video game.
Unless it's a Todd Howard game.
yeah because bethesda games wont actually be finished for another year so any purchase until then is a pre-order
Based.
Preordering the deluxe content because I will already get access to the game for free thanks to Gamepass.
it's free on game pass
>free on game pass
It’ll be the biggest game in mexico, fur shur
why?
But I'm gonna miss out while everyone is having fun with it...
Dammit, why didn't you tell me that BEFORE I preordered Todd's latest GOTY?

but why? the game looks like dogshit
1 trillion voice lines
Yes it does but see that Bethesda logo? Yeah, exactly.
Skyrim was 3.8gb on the 360.
They know how to compress
Yes they do
They just don't give a shit because they've got no reason to care about it

>125GB
That's fine, I'll just wait for the fit-girl repack to remove all the non-human languages

I'll just watch a stream on twitch no install required :^)

Ten language packs?
arent bethesda pretty good at keeping file size low? Fallout 4 was only 25gb before dlcs and 4k texture update (extra 40 gb)
wtf is a preload?
>pre-loading 125gb
You'll take longer on decrypting than me downloading fresh on my fiber. Suck ass, bandwidthlets.
Starfield looking mighty forgettable next to bg, I have to say. Fantasy always trumps scifi
preloading a game a whole ass month ahead?
bruhhhhh lmao
>keeps showing character with his beard drawn on with a sharpie
the only positive thing about Starfield is that this companion is voiced by Adam Jensen's VA.

It'll still have to unpack it after downloading it if you wait
How big is it gonna be after all the mods to actually make it good?
still, making you wait this long after preloading your game defeats the purpose of preloading it in the first place

code in a box
>code in a box
Absolutely disgusting
The save files will bloat to about 100GB too after a few weeks
they know how to depress
The modern AAA RPG is 100gb+ it's the same size as BG3
I'm starting to dislike the trend of low resolution cowboys in bethesda games
I got the game free with an AMD card but still haven't gotten a key.
Did anyone get it yet?
