Bethesda game design has been flawed to its core since Skyrim. They overly rely on cheap scripted encounters that are merely set dressing, whereas prior, they attempted to simulate a world. The funny thing about that is, their ideas are laughably shallow. I was watching shroud play the game, he was landing in the cowboy place, another ship lands in as he's getting out, he immediately is drawn to it thinking there could be some combat or engagement, and it's just set dressing, he walks up to the lifeless ship's entrance, and it's conveniently inaccessible. He turns towards the town and is greeted by a hostage/robbery situation, who knows what they're attempting to steal or what even makes sense to steal in this context, the game doesn't bother to explain, but I know this pitiful idea of an interaction will play out on every new playthrough/character because that's what Bethesda has done since Skyrim. I don't understand why more people don't call them out on this particular issue, are they really too moronic to notice?

I kind of figured. Only thing I liked about Boltgun was that it was Warhammer 40k. Which is usually the only compliment I have for most 40k games and I don't know why I even bother with them anymore, they are rarely good.
I knew for sure Trepang 2 was one of them though. Frick that game was boring and one note as hell. I got hyped from the demo and his dishonest review as well.
Trepang 2 (and maybe 1 idk) looked so generic and soulless. Like is there any originality in it? I'm getting tired of these retro throw back games that don't even make an attempt at doing something new and refreshing. Everything has to be a"love letter" to [Insert highly acclaimed game from 20 years ago]. Don't get me wrong, I love those old games and I love that these devs are doing what they love but I would be too much of a good goy if I didn't at least point it out and ask "why".

Bethesda game design has been flawed to its core since Skyrim. They overly rely on cheap scripted encounters that are merely set dressing, whereas prior, they attempted to simulate a world. The funny thing about that is, their ideas are laughably shallow. I was watching shroud play the game, he was landing in the cowboy place, another ship lands in as he's getting out, he immediately is drawn to it thinking there could be some combat or engagement, and it's just set dressing, he walks up to the lifeless ship's entrance, and it's conveniently inaccessible. He turns towards the town and is greeted by a hostage/robbery situation, who knows what they're attempting to steal or what even makes sense to steal in this context, the game doesn't bother to explain, but I know this pitiful idea of an interaction will play out on every new playthrough/character because that's what Bethesda has done since Skyrim. I don't understand why more people don't call them out on this particular issue, are they really too moronic to notice?
