Starfield loot

>can't loot armour from dead NPCs
>loot is all generic RNG shit
I've really been looking forward to playing Starfield in September, but now it looks like they've ruined the loot system.
Imagine you see an npc wearing some cool armour and you want to take it for yourself, but you can't since you only get generic shit when killing them. They had this system in previous games (Skyrim, Fallout 4 etc.) so why does it look like they've removed it in Starfield?
Sure, the RNG MIGHT give you some armour if you're lucky but it's not like previous games. Or did they just hide it from the quickloot section and only allow you to take it by opening the full "Transfer" menu?
Is it worth getting my hopes up? Could mods fix it? Why hasn't Todd given us more details???

I literally don't care about inventory management. I just like being given the OPTION to take cool armour from dead NPCs for yourself.

      >Sure, the RNG MIGHT give you some armour if you're lucky but it's not like previous games (where you could always loot all the armour from every NPC)
it's not visible in all of them

to be fair, you're just assuming it's RNG
we don't actually have an answer for certain since many clips in the videos they showed come from different builds of the game
either way, thanks to the mod-ability of these games, you'd be able to fix it later on

Welcome to the club, you’ll have more money but you will be bored more often. On the bright side when the new game you want to play comes out you will probably be more hype to play it.

Same anon... It's over. All new video games are shit now. Maybe it's time to get back on my hobby and just let video games go. Maybe it's time to uninstall the ~4TB of video games I have on my PC.
      >B-b-but what's your hobby, anon?
Making video games. It's what I went to college for. I'm fricked.

I used to like programming until I started working in a corpo. The smallest change has to be checked 70 times and discussed with 20 teams to make sure nothing breaks for them. It's so tedious it took all the fun out of it.

I don't, this is what they wanted and I'm happy they get it, it will be really funny before WW3 when women will try to shame men into service and just saying "sure let's enlist together" will shut them up.

This thread is a thinly veiled shill. Its been posted dozens of times.
OP, the shill, sets up the strawman of "i cant believe they dont have x", then either using an alt or more preferably baiting some autist op is "corrected" by posting a screenshot showing you can in fact loot armour, just like the other games.
Its meant to distract from the fact that this isn't anything special to have in a game but they want you to think its a "feature".

I'm not a shill and I'm actually looking forward to Starfield, it's one of the few games releasing this year that interests me (though I'm going to spend some time modding out all the ugly characters before platyng).
I watched the Xbox showcase and noticed the lack of lootable armours, the pic in op is just a convenient collage I saved from another anon's thread. And as I mentioned, there are a FEW instances where the screenshots have lootable armour but it seems to be RNG-based since the majority don't. And that's what I'm disappointed about, considering that previous games such as Skyrim and Fallout 4 weren't like this.

It's easy to see why they are doing this if you played their previous games, in Skyrim they couldn't properly tier armors and enemies so you had bandits in daedric armor, they fixed it in FO4 but also introduced recycler so for autists the gameplay loop was like this:
        >enter the dungeon
        >pick one corpse near the entrance and put it in visible spot
        >leave everything there
        >continue exploring
        >once overburden go back to that corpse and leave things there
        >repeat as many times you need
        >once you're finished take everything from that corpse and either walk slowly home or invest in the most op perk in the game that allow you to fast travel while overburden
        >sell/recycle everything you got there
Limiting the amount of things you loot from enemies is one way to fix this mess and if ships have similar weight limit to companions then it make even more sense because people would have to throw shit out to leave the planet.

Being able to loot armor that you can see is probably one of the worst mechanics I have ever seen in a game. If no one else can do it, the player would be powerful for no reason.

why would you loot spacesuits that A: aren't fitted to you and B: full of bullet holes?

to sell the scraps? obviously? you'd be rich selling incredibly expensive gear

You could apply that same logic to previous Bethesda games.

Is there crafting and enhancing in starfield? Since in skyrim the people who didn't want to play Barbie usually ended up crafting and enchanting their own armor.

  16. 11 months ago

I know this is not what Bethesda has ever gone for but it's always bugged me that armors in their games were universal 1 size fits all. Given that it's not really armors in this game but rather space suits makes more even more sense now that you can't apropiate any suit you come across.

How much effort could it really be to resize armor though?

yeah, just thinking what they might explain no armor loot with cope like that, ie 95% of the enemy armor is just damaged beyond repair after firefights. to expect them to make damage model where body shot kill will keep helmet intact is too much ofc, so its just rng, here's your random piece each 10 kills or so
