>Various stability and performance improvements
>We won't tell you though
Optimization is often extremely boring and obscure stuff like "stopped this UI element from updating every frame"
No they're just too lazy to write patch notes and know most people won't read them anyway.
I remember Dragon Age Inquisition patches and they were meticulously chronicled. Developers stopped caring.
>I remember Dragon Age Inquisition patches and they were meticulously chronicled. Developers stopped caring.
yeah it's pretty much developers just not caring anymore. everything is gross splat and it's all fricked up these days
Starfield seems like the most boring game ever made
I didn't hate it, didn't like it either. I think the emotion I'm looking to express is either indifference or apathy.
Because the game itself is so bland. No humor, no violence, nothing. I played it through and don't ever plan to fix it.
When you need 10+ UI mods and couple of days of performance tweaks just to get through the game something is wrong.
I feel sorry for the cucksole players who can't even mod out the horrible UI and the unreadable font etc.
Boredom. It's boring. Your lack of feelings towards it is a symptom of it's inability to peak your discerning interest. It's not interestingly bad or good. It's not even bad enough to warrant scrutiny. It's mediocre. You are not appreciably happier playing it over doing nothing at all. To subject yourself to it would worsen your mental state if it had any effect on you at all. You recognize that there is a finite amount of time on earth and that it shouldn't be spent on a 5/10 when there is more 6 and above than you could ever consume in one lifetime and that consumption for its own sake is not fulfilling. It does not entertain your court nor yourself. Regular old boring.
That's a lot of words to convince yourself that the game is boring when it's not.
no he's right, it's boring. probably the most sterile game in recent memory. it's not bad in a funny way like gollum or good by any metric unless you really want to loot grind in an fps but there's better options for that.
it's not bad. it's not good. it's just there. it's a game. you can have an ok time with it but the bad is almost in tandem with the good. you might have found something cool to explore but then you find another exact copy of it on the same planet and it took about 10 minutes of walking on foot to get there. that balancing act might be the most impressive thing about the game, you get a cool new power but you have to do the same terrible minigame to do it every time and it's a 5 minute endeavor to get there that never changes.
This is exactly how I feel about Final Fantasy IX.
It's not really boring.
If you start playing you tend to just keep going. But it's not a great game in any particular way.
yup. played like 50 hours and when I finished it, it was like coming out of a haze. looking back there is not a single thing this game did well and is somehow a step back from fallout 4 in some major ways
You cannot finish the game in 50 hours unless you skip like 80% of content.
Agreed, it was a slog but I ran it all in around 160hrs. 50 hours is just the main story with Constellation.
You can easily do the main quest and factions in 50 hours. The rest is trash busy work nonsense.
Protip: skip crafting and you almost don't even need to loot anything.
I beat it in 40, did the entire crimson fleet infiltration, and a bunch of side mission stuff. Everything else was copy/paste outposts to clear. It's not a big game. 75% of that 40 hours was fast traveling
Pretty much my experience. I wanted to go back and finish crimson fleet, but my game froze for the hundredth time and I couldn't force myself through the quest dialogue again.
So the typical Bethesda experience. I know some people like the haze and find it sort of meditative. I don't.
Bethesda games are for people who set up ambient lights and essential oil diffusers aka me, it's not something normalgays would get.
Based fun haver.
>First day of starfield
>buy it on steam
>set up perfume burner
>make cube snacks because astronauts eat cube food or whatever
>slow walk through new atlantis upon landing, taking in the sights
>360 walk out the door at constellation
>100 hours pass without even starting the quest
>the beautiful things ive seen out there
cant wait for the survival autism mods
>normalgay game is not something normalgays get
Lol what?
I honestly think you have to be a little dumb or constantly under the influence to enjoy those games. There just isn't enough there for me to chew on. If I want something meditative, I'll play a puzzle game or just meditate.
this honestly. i had nothing else to play at the time, 2 days total playtime which is like 50 hours anyway, i wanted to make a ship, got the money to make anything i wanted by exploiting, and didn't like how ship building was because it was all pointless after doing space shit up until this
and no, eliminating the tedium to get the money didn't turn me off. i was makin steady money and ship progression with the shitty skill tree and the one thing that interested me turned out really frickin bad(ship building), i didn't care anymore. i managed to experience everything else the game had to offer with its quests and it was frickin bland and boring. Neon was a frickin joke when i got there that i stopped all together.
It's not the most anything game ever made. It's just bland and uninteresting.
It's completely soulless. Especially apparent playing Shartfield after playing through Cyberpunk77+DLC.
CP77 is absolutely boring and soulless thougheverhow?
Uhh no?
Sorry you need to ear people talk for 5 minutes, Tic Tok is the other way.
The gameplay is more fun the better you are.
Okay Pawel now clean my toilet
>claim one game is boring
>shill for cp77
Christ you people are mentally Ill
I dropped it after two hours and Im a Bethesda prostitute. It just feels like a chore
>I dropped it after two hours and Im a Bethesda prostitute. It just feels like a chore
That's because it's all been done before. We know the routine. Spend the first 2 hours trying to figure out what to carry and leave behind. Spend the 2 hours after that trying to figure out where to store things, and how to store more of it. Then spending 30 minutes clearing a dungeon, and 2 hours sorting out what loot to keep and what to leave, then walking back to your base while encumbered anyway.
It's the same routine for 20 years now. It is tedious as frick.
stop picking up random trash then, literally playing the game wrong
>not giving yourself 100k carrying capacity with the console
later virgins
you forgot to mention the copy pasted POIs that have the same loot in the same locations
It is. It is literally the most boring space setting ever created.
>make space game
>strike one, invent Nasapunk and keep everything boringly grounded
>strike two, refuse to switch to a non-dogshit engine, because you know the modding community will carry you
>strike three, keep the most obvious nepotism hire in gaming in charge of your writing
The game never stood a chance
You might say, the game was rigged from the start...
It's not the engine's fault (Modders have made vehicles and other cool shit in their games with it). And grounded sci fi can be engaging (and Starfield isn't even that grounded just has some trappings). Bethesda is poor at programming, and Todd is reliant on other's work to create an engaging world.
It's pretty boring.
Yeah its strange, i was kindof captivated for like 20 hours with outposts and exploring. Then it hit me like a train...there is no reason to do anything really, the game is dead boring.
The story fid not make you invested tats why. B
isn't this every single player game? souls fans, what changes after 200 hours?
No anon good single player games have story and characters that get you invested to see the end.
It is because of them striving for an e-for-everyone rating. It is so fricking bland that adding mods to simply change the load screen to attractive girls adds 20 points to the game's score. It's fricking ridiculous.
Or you and the majority of phone post Ganker have a short attention span
people are so bored and coping with their purchase they start making dominoes with their frickin sandwiches they find everywhere
It's certainly up there
It's one of the most boring games I've ever played. I had seen everything I needed to see after an hour.
It's very skeletal currently. Seems their focus with this game was to make the core engine and polish it as much as possible. Then make the creation kit mod tools for it that works with all the upgrades and allow for deep integration for mods. Then sit back and just push out stability updates for the next 10 years, while the modding community makes all the mods that will make you big fat bags of cash, as the value of your IP rockets upwards from the massive amount of content that will be made for you, for free.
Rinse and Repeat with ES6.
>their focus with this game was to make the core engine and polish it as much as possible
If that was the case, they'd be off to a terrible start.
But I think you're coping harder than the MGS V guys, this is the finished game.
MGSV is infinitely more finished than Starfield. It's also good. It also has vehicles. That's three reasons to like it over Starfield. I'm going to stop there otherwise it'll go all night long.
Not saying MGS V is bad, I was talking about the Never Be Game Over guys and the like.
Oh anon I'm not implying that nor am I trying to sing the praise of MGSV, I'm just supporting your post and exposing how hard Starcucks are coping right now.
Skyrim, F4, F3 were all much worse on release than starfield. For bethesda standards this was their best release ever
No. It's got the "least" bugs which still doesn't amount to much when there's still game breaking softlocking bugs all over the place. It's not better than any of those games. It just doesn't crash and bug out as much as they did despite still doing it a lot.
I've had the game crash literally once. And the only bugs are standard physics frickups like a barrel getting stuck in the floor.
Thinking back to skyrim the game would crash whenever I alt-tabbed, would crash on loading certain zones, would chug like a motherfricker randomly. And that's not even counting the truly fricked shit like the PS3 versions saves always eventually corrupting or gameplay oversights like the alchemy->enchanting->smithing loop
Yeah or an essential npc or your ship spawning out in space so you can't reach them, and even if you reload an earlier save they're still floating off out in space. Shit literally soft locked me 2 separate times in starfield shill, get the frick out of here with the "its only physics glitches" bullshit. 2 separate times i had my ship float off into space when docked on a station and there was no way around it besides loading an earlier save. problem is thet ship is still stuck where it was in the newer save when you revert. so you have to reload far back enough that you're in an immediate area that has an option to buy a new ship and you have to have enough credits to buy it because otherwise you can't fast travel or do literally anything else.
>and even if you reload an earlier save they're still floating off out in space
Game data persisting across loads is something that begun with Fallout 4, and immediately gave speedrunners a million new ways to break open the game.
I suspect it was a desperate attempt at optimization on Bethesda's part, much like the unsafe saving in daggerfall.
Whatever the reason is it's fricking unbelievable that your ship can just glitch away on you when you're docked and literally soft lock your whole file. Fricking crazy. Happened to me on the stupid cruise heist mission and I had to reload 4 hours earlier to get a save where I was on a planet with a ship vendor because the game only keeps 1 quicksave at a time. Fricking moronic.
played Skyrim day 1 on PC and never had any sort of crash or problem or FPS drop. Not sure what potato you were playing on. Meanwhile Starfield slowsdown when quick switching weapons lmao.
Not true even if you limit yourself to the technical issues, and those are the least of Starfield's problems.
The performance drop in particular makes FO4 look good in comparison, and people were shitting on that hard specifically because it was the first Bethesda game with such noticeable performance issues.
And again, the real problems aren't technical, Starfield's map is FUBAR and the story is so bad it feels like a mockery: Starborn, seriously?
but the bones of the game aren't even there. No mods are going to fix the dull setting and 10000 loading screens.
Most boring game ever made? That's clearly going too far.
Most boring triple AAA game in years? That's a more fair assessment.
Its certainly Bethesda's most boring game to date.
Oblivion is absolutely more boring than starfield. The amount of “nothing” in oblivion is fricking staggering
When was the last time you played Oblivion? You can't walk 100 meters without stumbling on ayleid ruins, fort, cave or some kind of camp. It's a theme park to trump all theme parks.
in a way he is kind of right though, the almost pefectly symmetrical distribution of boring copy paste content that is technically distinct from the rest by some percentage points makes it all the same, where nothing stands out.
it literally does not matter where you go and what you do, the game stays the same no matter what.
If it was released 10-15 years ago people would be calling it game of the decade. Everything about it is shit by todays standards.
Today's standards are lower if anything, which is why this didn't get reviewed bombed to oblivion as it should have.
It did though. The most normie and biggest publications (ign/gamespot/pcgamer etc.) gave it shit reviews.
There's no such thing as review bombing
If IGN and Gamespot give a major AAA game a 7 its pretty much a message that its utter shit and the pubs know that.
For the general normie population a review from IGN is worth 1000 reviews from small time shitters on youtube
Yes but that's not review bombing, that's a legitimate grievance with a game that released in poor condition
Review bombing is legitimate, don't care what israelites say.
You've got the right idea, but you're looking at it the wrong way. israelites say that review bombing is the intentional lowering of the review score through fake reviews, which doesn't happen. People have legitimate problems with the product, and they voice them. The score is legitimate, because it's not review bombing
>implying games have improved over the last 10-15 years
Mechanically, technically, and graphically they have.
it has the worst quests in comparison to other bethesda game, it truly is a mediocre shitstain
I dropped it after a few days, incredibly fricking boring and lifeless. Visuals are trash and combat isn't even fun. It was a complete waste of money and time. I had more fun replaying Skyrim or New Vegas than I did Starfield. It was that bad.
It is. You'll be going through fast travel menus over and over again. I dropped it abour midway doing the UC Vanguard questline. Shooting these dumb terrormorphs is just boring. They just aren't as scary as Deathclaws to me. The SysDef and Crimson Fleet questline is pretty good, although I wished I could've been given a chance to not kill some NPCs.
>what if we made Skyrim again
>no no we wouldn't improve anything we just make Skyrim again, literally.
it's not even Skyrim.
it feels so safe. a product, nothing more. just like skyrim was. and then fo4, which was slightly better, but ultimately another product. i dislike oblivion, but it had soul. fallout 3? abysmal, but there was something there.
AAA has been dead for like last 10 years and seems like the industry needs another spectacular crash. but gaming became too big to crash.
Oblivion was extremely safe. Generic fantasy lotr green hills with all the weird stuff from Morrowind ripped out, and almost none of the interesting features of cyrodiil retained. And unlike Starfield they actually had good established lore to work with, but they ignored it. I'd actually argue it was safer since spaceshit is inherently risky and difficult to make interesting, while generic fantasy is guaranteed sales.
Still, I think Oblivion was better on release but honestly, it's closer than you'd think because vanilla Oblivion was extremely broken in several crippling ways. It took massive overhauls to fix all that shit. You're letting nostalgia blind you.
fair, oblivion setting was really generic, but the game itself had some soul. magic was broken in a fun way, npcs were fricking unhinged bonkers, writing was peculiar, the "oblivion music".
It is.
The thing that really killed it for me was the insane amount of girl bosses. Every fricking questline, any position of power, even when they it's a male on top; there's a strong black woman as second in command ( rangers, crimson fleet). It's so tiresome.
this
I was glad when the roastie that I didn't even bother remember the name of died
just imagine that it's good.
But it's not a strategy game
how the frick did bethesda somehow make a game more boring than FO4?
I'm so glad this bethshit is finally getting recognized for what it is.
I stopped playing after my first power up
The side missions like the pirate one was kino
After that, it was too repetitive
yknow how with stablished IP's they have to strip the good things from it and slowly corrupt with degeneracy while also diluting the fun stuff? well with starfield they had a whole new IP so there was nothing to destroy and it could be corrupted from the ground up
Yeah, it's mediocre
It really is fricking mediocre.
You play a couple hours of it you have played all of it.
Its not THE most boring, but it is fricking boring.
You spend 80% of the "game" looking at loading screens for everything. Its not how long they are, its just how fricking many there are in rapid succession at all fricking time.
Get an SSD
Re-read my post moron. I have the game on an SSD. The problem isn't the length but the sheer fricking number of them that are fricking EVERYWHERE. Makes me feel like I'm playing a game from 10 years ago and not a good one.
You should get a better one. The loading is is like a second on an nvme. You can just fast travel to skip most of the screens anyway
Re-read my post again. Maybe you'll finally get it through you thick skull, you braindead monkey.
It really does.
>Starfield Space Club Music:
>Mass Effect Space Club Music
Every facet of Starfield seems to have been scientifically designed to bore.
This sounds like it's taken right from a PS1 shmup. Radical.
It is completely shit and soulless. Worst game Bethesda have ever made - and I’m a fricking Bethesdrone
that's because all big company games are outsourced to indians in 2023. there's zero (0) (z e r o) american devs working on big company games, if you disagree you're wrong
I don't know if I'd say ever but it's definitely fighting for that spot. The setting for Starfield is one of the most bland, safe, corporate, dull sci-fi settings I have ever seen. They created a game with an incredibly enormous scope and then put fricking nothing of interest in it. The game seemingly has a ton of systems and things to dig into but once you actually peel off the top layer of each, you realize the top layer is the only layer. While this is a common complaint of many Bethesda games that feeling is amplified to a huge degree because there isn't at least an interesting world to get lost in.
And for a studio that touts player freedom as much as Bethesda does, this game is nearly as on-rails with its quests as a fricking Rockstar game. You play the story in exactly the way that they intended or the game simply does not let you progress. For as much as people complained about the voiced player in Fallout 4 limiting dialogue options, Bethesda's removal of it didn't actually impact the amount of choices or freedom you have at all. Many times the game presents you with what you think is going to be a choice and you just get 4 versions of yes or 4 versions of no. The most unforgivable thing is the amount of essential NPCs. In this game more than any other they've made, because of the built in NG+ option, you should have the freedom to frick up quest lines because you can just NG+ and do it 'correctly' later. The fact they didn't take advantage of this system unique in their titles to Starfield is wild.
If I were to say anything positive about Starfield it is that this game shows to even hardcore Bethesda drones is that Bethesda is just coasting on the work of others at this point. The people that built the Elder Scrolls universe aren't there anymore and Fallout was never their creation to begin with. They simply do not have what it takes to make something interesting without using the work of better devs as a crutch.
it's almost like they're just fricking with players at this point to see how much they can get away with
I agree that they haven't actually taken advantage of new game + is insane to me, have more mutually exclusive questlines you aren't actually getting locked out of anything.
Mordern Bethesda is like a shitty Dungeons & Dragons dungeonmaster that railroads the party into a predetermined set of events because he wants them to experience HIS content. RPG videogames were traditionally based directly off their tabletop counterparts and are supposed to be sandboxes where the player(s), to a large extent, forge their own adventure. Translating this into a videogame is obviously difficult and some tradeoffs will no doubt have to be made. However, the core concept of free will should remain intact. Beth games do not have this anymore. Real choice is merely an illusion.
who the frick told you this bullshit? it's like you didn't play a single video game rpg.
sir please starfield is good game sir please do the needful and buy
No, that would be Zelda TikTok.
BLOODY VERY FRICK YOU b***h
they hated him because he spoke the truth.
Can I finally increase the brightness FFS
still not pirating your slop
>FOV: Sliders are now available in Settings that allow players using first person or third person to adjust their FOV.
groundbreaking, it's just like fallout 76
Why do they keep fricking this up every time, do they not learn? Fricking tiny indie games can manage to have an FOV option without needing to be reminded about it every time.
In case you don't know Bethesda is Xbox now and console games generally don't have FOV sliders.
good morning sir
>IT FIXES EVERYTHING!
So they've re-written the story?
Nope. You still can't kill essential NPC nor join crimson fleet early on if you want to, feels like a missed opportunity for NG+ for psychopath build where the moment you're given the mining laser, you can just kill Lin, Heller and Barret.
*can't
It's even worse than before, in that certain scenes / characters don't even give you the satisfaction of getting shot or hit and you're left cursing at what amounts to holographic projections.
I can't belive it bros they finally added melee mods
why must there be the same threads over and over and over and over and over and ogre and over and over and over and over and over and over again, just post on your fricking discord server
Because everyone who actually had something to say moved to discord servers after the tourist invasion. Ganker is impossible to have actual discussions on since 2016.
There are roughly two AI image threads on most boards right now, if it wasn't already bad, this site is being farmed for image content. It isn't organic at all.
what happened to star citizen?
it's been too long since i've a thread about it
How is it already at 1.7 Jesus Christ get your shit together Todd
Release was 1.6, I’m guessing 1.0 was like a year ago
Correct. Todd said that 1.0 was released 8 months before the official release date. They spent the rest of the time bug fixing.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK I HAVE BEEN DEPRAVED TORTANIC DISASTERKINO DAMN YOU TODD
I NEED ME SUM 1.0 STARFIELD
Wow and it still was that broken? How incompetent is Bethesda?
>broken
Learn what words mean.
Rook meets king is still bugged, I can't do the crimson fleet plotline AT ALL and I'm far from being the only one.
I refunded after 40h, and a whole month later still no bugfix on that specific quest.
Works on my machine
They are a step above CDProjekt. At least they can release a game without being sued by and losing to the shareholders.
They can take solace in the fact they are not the most incompetent AAA studio around.
kek imagine the absolute disaster it was at 1.0 version
Imagine how terrible the game was in 1.0 state
You just know Phil Spencer absolutely tore Todd Howard a new butthole over the shitty state that Bethesda wanted to release Starfield in
They're adding an fov slider in their first update. That's not something you add in a patch.
Something is very wrong with this game. I suspect they're hiding the fact that this is actually under early access and still in development. They're going to copy no man's sky and keep listening to feedback.
>I suspect they're hiding the fact that this is actually under early access and still in development.
That's like every Bethesda game.
Before Fallout 76 Bethesda games were shallow and buggy as shit but feature complete.
sounds like someone wasn't around for building in Fallout 4 at release.
Fallout 4 and skyrim don't have a fov slider either
Not at all. If the game is developed, its developed. Every game does this. You simply need a more powerful PC to play Todd Chadword's games.
does consolecucks get this option?
The patch notes say yes for both PC and Xbox. Why wouldn't they?
>and keep listening to feedback
That's not how AAA game development works. Once a game is released it goes into maintenance mode, in which a skeleton crew does the bare minimum support while the rest of the studio moves to another project. There's probably 10 people maintaining Starfield right now. Everyone else is either off-contract or migrating to the next project. A studio might splinter their workforce between major projects, and that's usually when a small team can throw together DLC.
I'm liking this new meme, keep it up, old boy
Is that Rene Auberjonois
Wait, that's it? I've had a frick ton of bugs and issues since day 1 and this is all they've done in over a month? Absolutely embarrassing.
unless they add hot sex with 12 years old then I wont buy it
you ever heard of mods?
Doesn't count if it's not official
UHHH starsisters???? how do we respond??
Glad I didn't buy the game
Literally unistalled and went back to playing Bear Sex 3
No amount of updates will fix how boring it is
OMG CONGRATS OP! I'M GLAD YOUR BALLS JUST DROPPED YOU'RE FINALLY A WOMAN NOW!
I will just wait a year to see if the modding community will take the Skyrim route (cool stuff that makes the game enjoyable for a few hours), the Fallout 4 route (pretty much dead aside from out-of-place tacticool shit), or the Fallout NV route (illegal salami modding and maybe vehicles).
>illegal salami modding
The what now?
Just some dumb old joke. Deathclaws and enslaved teenagers aren't the only things the FNV community wants to frick.
See this is the kind of content that makes a game not boring.
It should be in the game from the beginning, I shoudn't be forced to visit honeypot sites for it.
Now if only she didn't look like Gollum.
>AUTHORITY [Legendary: Failure] - Something is very wrong here. This ranger's disconnected tone of voice, his disapprovingly neutral stare that seems to bore through you. You can't release the emergency brake, can't bring the accelerator to the floor and make him eat dust. All you can do is attempt explain yourself to this entity of higher standing.
Underrated post.
Fallout as a setting just doesn't allow for much, there's only so much you can do in a post-apoc shithole. Starfield and TES are extremely vast in comparison and can entirely contain post-apocalyptic settings if they feel like it.
Personally I'm looking forward to the survival mods, there's so much potential there especially since Starfield already has a decently developed soft-survival hazards and medical symptoms.
>Starfield already has a decently developed soft-survival hazards and medical symptoms
I think there is a ton of potential for a more hardcore survival approach to the game. Still doesn't fix the lack of content variety though, but at least it might make it more tolerable. There is just a lot of potential in general with fixing the economy of the game too. It seems like they purposely dumbed down a lot of the ideas they had.
I did the UC glowie questline, half of the UC xeno one, and finished the main quest. I missed a lot of content I guess but I brsuhed up against it enough to know it was a waste of time. I absolutely loathed any time I had to spend in the settlements, they are ugly immersion breaking abortions of world design
Modders could do a lot with Starfield, but a game has to be good in the first place to attract quality modders that are willing to put in lots of time to make big mods.
Even in its current state, Starfield is 1000% better than any other space game currently out. So at the minimum, spacegays will keep modding it. What else are they gonna do, continue donating to fund Roberts' third yacht?
>Starfield is 1000% better than any other space game currently out
This is what people who played babbys first space game actually believe. I'd rather replay Mass Effect Andromeda over this trash.
Cool Story Bro
Play more games.
I don't remember Starsector looking like that, then again it's been more than 5 years since I've played it. What's the current state? Is it close to being finished?
As soon as you stop playing trash. Nobody in their right mind would ever play a mass effect game past 2
Nobody in their right mind would still defend Starfield today.
Nah, thats just you being pointless.
beathazard looking different
that game fricks.
i was so disappointed and asked anons what other space game can still my hunger and they recommended me this. have already 140h in.
Never trust pajits only oh anons
Try Empyrion too while you are at it.
>pull up to enemy
>point at them
>wiggle back and forth to dodge attacks
>run away if you're getting beat
I like late 90s/early 00's MMO combat better when it's in a late 90s/early 00's MMO. Who in the goddamn wants to play Anarchy Online without the Anarchy Online?
People who haven't played many games, that's who.
Boy, we'll just go play X again, you underestimate us.
The people in this thread getting bored by Starfield in the first few dozen hours would die instantly if they tried to play X3 or X4
This! Some of these jackasses dont even know what they are talking about. We already know Ganker doesnt like to read and majority of X is nothing but reading.
>Even in its current state, Starfield is 1000% better than any other space game currently out.
Define "space game"
This is easily the funniest thing about Starfield to me, that the people who like it call it a "space game." Oh yeah dude I love all sorts of video games. Car games, gun games, space games. You name it.
I love space games like no man's sky, noctis iv, spaceengine and I love bethesda-likes, what you gonna do about it buddy? I just love the setting.
Nah. Starfield is a shallow mishmash of other games, but it doesn't do anything better than any of the the games it's borrowing from.
I would rather play Mass Effect, Skyrim, Fallout, Kerbal Space Program, etc. again than play Starfield.
>starfield is 1000% better than any other space game currently out
shit bait, t. almost 1k hours in nms
what does that game offer to do for 1k hours?
No man Sky in VR, and i repeat
>IN VR
Is absolutely the best space game out, without VR its a 6/10, with VR its an easy 9/10 the sense of scale is unmatched
Shame it runs like dogshit on PC
>there's only so much you can do in a post-apoc shithole.
theres alot you can do with fallouts setting, problem is Bethesda doesnt care beyond LE WHACKY 50'S AMIRITE and basic Mad Max wasteland tropes
Fallout 2 and New Vegas showed large urban settlements, whereas in 3 and 4 they are either small or ones you have to craft. Shamus Young's quote about how Bethesda is more interesting in screwing around the junk rather than the civilizations that came after is all the more relevant.
>a year
A decade
It still amazes me how modders constantly mog Bethesda. "We can't do vehicles" my ass. The car mods may be a bit janky, but that just makes them fit right in.
Looks like driving in Cyberpunk
>the microstutter every time he crosses into another cell
This is why Todd didn't want vehicles in the game
>the Skyrim route (cool stuff that makes the game enjoyable for a few hours),
Uhh I think you meant to say "terrabytes worth of immersive sex mods catering to every possible fetish (and some impossible ones too)"
>IT FIXES EVERYTHING!
You said that last update you lying c**t.
why would someone buy a broken game?
I can fix her
Smallest, shittiest update I've ever seen in a game
game's version is 1.7.36
that means they've already released 7 major updates, adding new quests, weapons, gear, ship parts, planets and locations. not even mentioning all the fixes.
what more do you want?
A fun video game.
>IT FIXES EVERYTHING
Still doing that meme, grandma?
Good morning sir.
>cant run game on 200€ gpu
iam not the target audience, not my problem that devs have a contract with gpu manufacturers to artifically ruin performance
They really fricked themselves with the space realism bullshit, if you're gonna put superpowers in the game at least put some alien races and factions in it
Doesnt have to be aliens. Just make human civilisations that are alien to us. A neofeudal stratocracy with different tiers if citizenship. A megacorp state, technocratic republic where all the work is done by nervestapled people-drones. Ecofascists spreading diseases as an act of terror to prevent humans sullying pristine alien ecosystems.
I could go on and on. Literally 2 of these would have made the game interesting, but instead we get USA and USA2 in space.
There's the snake dudes. But they're so roughly scoped out it feels like DLC bait
I am convinced one of the Devs saw the Dune movie, never read the book, and then added the snake dudes. They are clearly meant to invoke Fremen.
It's really weird how they're alluded to as being one of the major players with a gigantic mystery behind them, and yet there's no way to learn more than that. They exist and then most of them fricked off, that's it. Not even a quest or two.
Who the hell even asked for "nasapunk"?
STILL no brightness / contrast / gamma sliders? The game looks like a washed out oversaturated mess. What the frick is wrong with them?
lmao even fallout 4 suffered from the same issue
which Black person is working on the art direction for this turd? skyrim didn't have this issue
DLSS support?
house plays starfield from his couch, controller in hands, with boring expression
>release features that should have been included on release
>LOOK WE FIXED THE GAME
frick off still playing baldur's gate 3
Starfieldbros, I'll admit it... I was disappointed. I expected a lot from Starfield and honestly? It didn't deliver, but I've been playing this update and I get this feeling that this is just the beginning. Already so many great fixes and I can just tell there's more to come. The engoodening of Starfield starts here and now, and honestly? I'm here for it.
Go to bed, Todd.
Who? Oh, you must mean Todd Howard, the developer. Well I do admire him, but sorry to say I'm just your run of the mill videogame consumer.
I can't believe they didn't think to add an FOV slider
This is actually the first Bethesda game with a FOV setting.
Makes you think,
Borderlands 2 had FoV slider and X/Y HUD adjustment, HUD scale, and full graphics settings.
Damn really? They remove the game and release a completely different one?
kys Rakesh
Did they finally add straight White people to the game?
>IT FIXES EVERYTHING!
I'm still spawning under my ship at the jemison spaceport when I manually exit my ship.
I can't play Starfield right now because I need to update my computer but what's going on with this game?
There was so much hype and then... nothing. I see more people argue about Fallout 4 to this day than last month's major release
Why don't people care about Starfield?
I'd like to know because I was planning on upgrading my computer solely for this game
>Why don't people care about Starfield?
The story characters and lore are not interesting on the slightest
>what's going on with this game?
People are playing a Bethesda game without mods.
>Why don't people care about Starfield?
The game is Fallout in Space instead of Skyrim in Space. People would be more interested in the game's universe if space elves and space cats (and their nonsensical alien cultures) were a thing.
It is the most creatively bankrupt game I've ever played. It's Fallout in space with absolutely none of the charm. Runs like ass, looks like ass. Main quest is ass. Side quests are ass. Companions are ass. Ship building is ass. Dogfights are ass. Enemy AI is ass. Everything about the game is ass. It's honestly kind of impressive how badly they fricked it up.
Don't forget that literally every npc is fricking disgusting, just grotesque.
>main story line is boring as shit macguffin collecting
>the lore of the game is boilerplate colony wars( and you missed the fun war already)
>most of the companions are obnoxious, all the humans are goody two shoes
>Copy pasted content everywhere, even using some of it in the main quest
>the mystery space temples are all exactly the same, one room shitty minigame
>extreme lack of choices/roleplaying
>only a few faction questlines and some of them aren't very interesting
>almost all the high level star systems have no unique content
>level design is pretty weak for choosing different approaches(i.e not very many vents, and the ones that are there almost always only have one exit that leads directly where you need to go)
>game incentivizes rushing through new game as fast as possible, since you lose everything in NG+
This is just off the top of my head.
>NG+
People talking about that shit are either in college or NEETs right? How the frick would a working family man have time to replay the same fricking game with slightly different stats? My backlog is about 6 years long already.
I'm talking about NG+ in general not just shitfield
>My backlog is about 6 years long already
I have games from 2017 that I still haven't beat but want to. That's what happens when you have 5 hours per week for gaming.
>have 5 hours per week for gaming
what a loser
It's just boring. Imagine a game with one instance. That instance has a couple of buildings with not a lot going on in it. A few them are shops. There are virtually no complex animations for NPCs. They just kind of stand there or walk.
Now that on instance is copy/pasted 20 times and you visit each one by teleporting. Then there are other instances that are "generated". They're larger and completely empty. Pretty to look at though. These are copy/pasted 100 times. You also teleport to each one. Each instance requires a loading screen. If you need to go through three instances to get to your location, then you've got to go through four loading screens.
That's the game.
Skyrim and Fallout 4 are badly written but there was good lore and the factions all have a philosophy (badly written as it is). There are plenty of debates over the Civil War and Commonwealth. Not much in regards to this though.
People talk about the Skyrim civil war because everyone played it and Ulfric sounds cool. Not because it was an especially interesting decision. I haven't heard much "debate" on FO4's Commonweath either. Neither is really a more interesting decision than FDR vs. Genghis or even Aceles vs. Microbe, but then, Bethesda games wouldn't be my first place to look for interesting moral questions. In fact, they'd probably be the last.
>>Why don't people care about Starfield?
its way too fricking pozzed for any human to get invested into it
they made it exclusive to the least popular console that they could have possibly chosen.
Trust the plan. Wait for the mods.
If you had never played fallout 3 or New Vegas and Fallout 4 was your first game, you likely to wind up loving it and having a lot of fun. People who were already fans Fallout could see the step backwards and so to this day people still argue passionately against each other.
Starfield is a new IP and regardless whether you are a Bethesda fanboy or new to this type of game, it lacks all flavor or novelty to keep the game interesting. It's not enough of an improvement or alternative to other open world games out there so it just falls flat. If you've played Cyberpunk then why should you be wowed by a city llke Neon? If you flew to planets in No Mans Sky then why should you prefer fast travel in Starfield? If you've watched Rockstars leap from from GTAIII an RDR2 over the past 20 years, why not expect more from Beth when they've gone from Morrowind to Starfield in that same time-span?
This is what fans of 1 & 2 had happen to them and I scoffed when they complained.
Guess I had it coming, because 4 did to me what 3 did to them.
nothing in the game is interesting. There are no interesting places to wow you, no characters to latch onto and no lore or worldbuilding worth investing in.
Fallout 4 had a few cool companions and locales, skyrim is a fountain of memes, even fallout 3 had a fun to nitpick story and a few cool sidequests.
Starfield has nothing and it even lacks the most crucial bethesda's strenght: exploration. You don't explore in this game, you just open a map and select what randomly generated square mile you want to explore in this randomly generated planet.
Where's the walking from point A to B and getting distracted by C, D, E, F and G? It's not there
It's just exceptionally bland, even by Bethesda standards. Plus the setting itself just isn't that interesting, it does a lot of the heavy lifting in Fallout and The Elder Scrolls to make up for the sub-par gameplay so without it you're really left with nothing.
Game is completely fricking soulless
>t. Bethesda fan since Oblivion
FRICKING RELEASE THE CK TODD FRICK YOU
Would it have been that hard to fix ship exterior customisation resetting physics objects in the ship interior
>no camera shake and head bob options
lmao what a joke
wow. It's fricking nothing
This thread is a bunch of dudes talking about how terrible their experience with the fat prostitute was, but every single one of them came.
more like
>go to brodel website
>order 10/10 girl
>fat troon shows up
>push it out of the door
try harder todd
that's what you tell your friends on Ganker, but in reality you let her in and fricked her.
Frick of 'jeet
ive downloaded it but havent been arsed to play it. i need to know...is it like fricking a fat prostitute or not?
Why did you frick a fat prostitute?
did it fix exploit with gun cases?
they didn't btw
These patches are less than Larian's smallest update
Nobody is going to patch a game which flopped
All that aggressive free shilling from Bald Gay 3 discorders with nothing to really show for it, Iam sure you got bigger problems to worry about seeing how Tencent was involved with investors.
I mean the the update patch notes and ongoing charting statistics on steam are receipts enough that the game is being improved and enjoyed by players
>over a month since release
>only adds FoV slider that should've been there from day 1
lol.lmao.
does the patch make npcs engaging to listen to? or are they still stuck in the oblivion cutscenes?
Unrelated but where's the best place to buy a big ass mousepad. With or without customization is fine. Just nothing gay
>spaceship is still invisible
>save is still fricked
Wow.
>Don't mind me! Just pirating this shi-
That's what you get for being a filthy highjacker.
>you pirated the game!!!
>you cheated!!
>you're just a snoy!!!
I'm tired of your excuses, it's just a shit game.
Anon, that's what happens when you hijack a ship and register it. Mine also disappeared and before that I noticed that my cargo hold was completely empty. Some anons say their just reverted to its original state, so say their ship just flew away,
Yeah I know, seems it's a bug specific to stations as well, something about swapping a docked ship, or even modifying the ship and moving the docking port.
It's like nobody tested this shit.
still crashes at the least opportune times
>pajeetfield
good morning saaars
I lost 20fps in Akila
>Still no DLSS
I sleep.
I wonder if when they implement it will somehow turn out worse than the mod version
I don't even know if I care at this point, I've been waiting for official support to buy the game, but it's taken them so long to implement basic features that I might just save my money.
>I've been waiting for official support to buy the game
>buy the game
>buy
far be it from me to muster a defense for Starfield on Ganker of all places, but after playing Bethesda games since I was a kid, I was willing to try Starfield, it doesn't seem that good, though.
How do I install patches on a repack version?
>inb4 "just use these ini settings"
you find those archives and go from there.
It's not as bad as some people make it out to be but so far it feels like wasted opportunity: the game. Wouldn't imagine buying it for a full price in its current state.
>IT FIXES EVERYTHING!
damn, did they add an uninstall button to the main menu?
Still waiting for the sex mods, otherwise Starbound in the only space game that has them right now
>open relationships are heckin based and wholesome!
Luckily they're just open to you having multiple partners and not themselves. Though Andreja doesn't want to share you at first
I think I accidentally hit track on a weapon mod now I permanently have sealant and some other things tracked
>tfw 4090
>tfw game is still a stuttery sub-60fps mess
I just want them to make it smoother. I love the game otherwise.
Might be a cpu bottleneck
I got a 10900k.
new processors mog the shit out of a 10900k
Lower the render resolution scale until you can notice a difference.
That's normal tbh. I have a 4080 and you can expect 60 to 70 fps in packed cities on max ultra 100% scale. I've seen as low as 50 fps in ultra dense forests or areas or specifically slavs mansion.
Did Skyrim run this bad on release?
Not as far as I remember. It was quite CPU heavy for its day but the most important thing was it looked like a game of its day whereas this game reminds me of a 2016 release. It basically looks like Mankind Divided.
Not by a longshot, no. I had a Radeon HD 6850 at the time of release and played it on high in 1080p at 60fps.
do you lads run it in 4k? Do you use the dlss mod?
I'm running the game at native 2k, no mods except special K to check my pacing sometimes. With the frame gen mod I get a stable 120 fps @ 17ms frame time.
>120 fps
>17ms frametime
Jesus Christ, how horrifying
17ms is fine, seriously, most people are running about that or higher after driver/os and so on, because they don't know how to not double dip vsync or set their shit up properly or have 100 tabs in chrome in the background or something moronic
am I mentally moronic or why was the hunter+emissary fight so fricking bad? who decided they should be bullet sponges? I ran out of ammo in almost every fricking gun and ended up plinking the emissary to death with, I shit you not, an eon, because that's the only gun that I still had ammo for
how the frick? I did that on VH blind and they were doable. What's your build? It should easily be possible just using the guns picked up during the fight.
I put a bunch of points into shotguns but I was doing like zero damage per shot and promptly ran out of ammo
I was also playing on very low graphics on a shit laptop so maybe there was some other technical issue where my shots weren't landing
Or I'm just trash
need more than just shotguns perked up for good dmg
if shotguns you should try to get:
Marksmanship: crit chance boosted by 15% for non auto weapons so switch receiver to semi. That's 15% per pellet for a shotgun afaik.
Then:
Sharpshooting: Increases headshot crit damage by 50%, all crit damage by 50%.
Then:
Armor penetration: Attacks ignore 50% of armor, armor decreased by 25% after a crit, to carry this damage into armored enemies like bosses.
Get rapid reloading rank 1 for shotguns. Max it if you plan to main coachman like doomguy style.
I beat them with the cutter on VH mode with rank 4 lasers for burn stacking
Whats Van Halen mode?
I want a bigass railgun on my ship
>THE ENGOODENING OF STARFIELD
>Try the game on gamepass and decide it's something I would probably passably enjoy with mods
>Realize that the majority of mods don't function on the gamepass version because micro-soft dickheads changed the architecture around too much
I'm sorry but I'm not paying $70 to be allowed to make the game not suck
How it could launch with such a dogshit ui alone and then that it can be fixed my some random internet weirdo in a day is incredible in how terrible it is. Bethesda were out of touch a decade and a half ago, what the frick is their excuse supposed to be now?
Why is Starfield so fricking boring? I'm actually trying to understand how I managed to have more fun with that pile of shit Fallout 4 than Starfield. How?
it's literally a downgrade of all the games we've already played in it's genre
Alright, I already hear a lot of things about the game, but there are still two things I want to know, first people told me that NPCs are disgusting but are there any cute girls in the game? and second the masked guy you find in the first city does anything cool later?
Plenty of qties. Only the random citizens are ugly and you can't even talk to them. The character creator is really good for creating faces so you can just alter one of the romance options if you want
they remove space Black folk and pronouns?
yeah and they added white/incel as a pronoun so you can really immerse yourself this time
wake me up when the sexlab equivalent is out
>added fov slider
>that's it, that's the update
Seriously? A month after they announce they're adding an FOV slider, DLSS support and HDR calibration/brightness, they still only have 1 of those actually done? This is getting ridiculous lol
I built a new pc recently and I got Starfield for free. Should I play it?
Are you mentally challenged?
Ofc, he bought a AMD GPU.
No you should stick your dick in the exhaust fan. What kind of stupid fricking question is that
This game filtered more morons than public education
But enough about Baldur's Gate 3 and Elden Ring
>IT FIXES EVERYTHING!
wow they actually remade the whole story and made it into an rpg?
Nice, now I just gotta wait more 15 years of updates to finally play this decent game!
cyberpunk took an extra 3 years to be "good" how many years do you think todd will need for starfield to be "good"
they'll shill it as good when the first DLC gets released
All Cyberpunk had to do was to fix out the bugs and add QoL features, everything else that was in the game was already pretty solid. Starfield's issues are baked deep in the game design. You cannot fix the constant loading screens and fast travel spam. You cannot fix the boring procedurally generated planets.
If you think they're going to substantially change or improve starfield like CDPR did for TW3 and CP2077 you're insane. The baby in Fallout 4 is still black every time. They don't fix anything other than absolute game breakers they have to fix. Support for them = the DLC half the people playing the game already paid for.
is the performance any better on PC?
depends on your rig. but the fact that you have access to console commands on PC makes it infinitely better as long as you can run it.
if your pc is better than an xbox yes, but it still runs like shit on any hardware compared to other comparable games that look better and have larger scopes. regardless if your hardware its going to underperform
A 4090 cannot hit stable 60fps at 1080p with maxed settings, it's a bad joke.
>A 4090 operated by a drooling moron cannot hit stable 60fps at 1080p with maxed settings
fixed that for ya mate
>NOOOO YOU CAN'T BENCHMARK THE GAME AS IS LIKE EVERY OTHER GAME, IT'S UNFAIR!!!
>IF YOU DON'T APPLY 9001 HAND-TUNED TWEAKS BEFORE BENCHMARKING YOU'RE A moron AND A SNOY!!!
Get bent, Todd.
calm down, moron
>still only 9 melee weapons
>all of which look like shit you can buy in your local convenience store despite the game being hundreds of years in the future
That's all of them? There's a total of 9 melee weapons in the game?
Ummmmmmm please understand, this multi-million dollar company only had 25 years of development, you can't expect that much content from them on Day 1.
>same melee attack
>same attack speed
>same soporific combat
How can they try so little? Even if you can't have multiple types and movesets for some reason, at least do something cheap to increase quantity, like melee weapons with bonus effects like scifi cattle prods or swords that fire laser slash projectiles.. just ANYTHING that could be called cool in this lame ass sleeping pill of a game.
Well there are the usual magic modifiers, like I found a knife that made every dead guy drop a medkit, another one that dealt poison damage.
That's it though, no crowbar, no throwing knife, no blunt weapon... but there's martial art, so you can punch people wearing an armored spacesuit to death.
no frickin TWO HANDED weapons?
>m-mods will fix it!
Yeah everyone said that about pic related too when it came out.
Turns out you need to have decent bones and decent core gameplay for people to actually GIVE A SHIT about fixing it
It WILL be saved by mods though. Look up some of the biggest Warband mods - it took years for them to come out. It will take even longer for Bannerlord, since they still insist of breaking them with patches, mod tools haven't been out from the start and you need to make higher graphical fidelity models. But there are a few great looking mods in the works already, give it a few years and it will be fun.
I could tolerate everything else about this game if it didn't take 3-4 loading screens to go to different planets or loading screens for closet sized structures.
The game really does not work for that. I get why because ragie wagies need fast entertainment now but this game needed better space with space poi and jump gates + cruise engine or something, where it's not as autistic as Elite but you can actually get around a system. I know they probably shy away from it because it fricks up the illusion of scale but planets are clearly flat jpegs and look like shit so why stop there for gameplay's sake
Massive sized building in New Atlantis.
Enter the building.
Loading screen.
It's a tiny little room with a counter and one NPC.
How much did MS pay for Bethesda again? They had a massive dev cycle for Starfield and the game was average and kinda underhyped. I'd be worried about TES6 performance, in fact I doubt TES6 could even recoup MS their investment even if it turns out to be an incredible game.
>FOV slider
BETHESDA FINALLY DISCOVERED THE TECHNOLOGY IN 2023, HOLY FRICKING BASED TODD
Possibly the blandest companions in a video game ever. It makes me wonder what the point of having them is.
I don't know how BGS made worse companions than FO4.
This there such thing as build variety in this game? Seems like if you get the Revenant its game over, thats the best gun you will ever get.
Melee weapons have no abilities and are just the same 2 attack animations for every weapon. The game is fricking trash.
Don't think so. Some energy weapons can be set to stun instead of kill. But other than that, guns behaves like guns. Melee weapons have similar animations and attack speed, they're basically the same weapon with a different skin.
>Some energy weapons can be set to stun instead of kill
And that has just about no effect on gameplay. I tried to stun Ron Hope but the quest wouldn't progress until I put a .45 in his head
Changing the FOV in an FPS is cheating. But they still gave the whining little babies their slider
>guy makes a very detailed review pointing out everything wrong with the game
>devs answer
>dude just pick options that change nothing besides your stats and a few dialogue options at best and it will be like playing an entirely different game
>You will feel like you are playing a totally different game!!
Such a blatant lie lol god damn. Oh is there a background trait I can choose that changes the shitty temple puzzles? Or the changes the shitty constellation companions? Or gives an entirely new opening to the game? oh, right, there isn't. It's all just [Bounty Hunter] Yes I was a bounty hunter once or [Freestar Collective Native] Yes I was born in freestar. Literally changes nothing. Fastest way to get credits in the game is via player.additem on console command btw lmao.
Starfield's combat really helps you appreciate VATS, a system they knocked together because they realized gunplay in Fallout3 sucked.
here's Fallout gunplay without VATS and it's terrible.
>8 years in development
>200+ staff
>millions of dollars in budget
I haven't seen the italianhomosexual spamming his waifu or the tencent picture in a while, I guess the game was just too shit to keep up the act
>modding is a big appeal to our game
>let's release nothing patches every week
Why do they do this? Bannerlord completely killed the mod scene doing this bullshit.
>mkds will fix it
Where are all those mods you homosexuals been clamoring about? The fricking weeb game now has more mods than sf.
oh shit thanks for letting me know there are gundam mods for AC6 already
oh shit that's so sick
looks awesome, does AC6 have any good mods besides model swaps?
>Where are all those mods you homosexuals been clamoring about?
Bethesda isn't releasing actual mod tools until 2024. So all the mods that exist now are just low tier hackjobs.
https://www.nexusmods.com/armoredcore6firesofrubicon/mods/82?tab=posts&BH=0
this adds Nu Gundam & Sazabi as separate parts you can buy and equip
even the funnels fully work complete with animations (they're super OP though along with the beam rifle & rocket shield)
oh wow 75 mods for AC, that's uuhh 2% of Starfield mods, I'm so proud of you
that's because AC6 is a fun & complete game that doesn't NEED mods to fix it.
holy mother of cope
You're the homosexual that decided to post an AC6 mod as if it was argument lol, I don't think you ever touched a Bethesda game's modding community if you that's even remotely comparable but that's not a surprise considering the level of discourse in these threads.
SF Has no mods. Just community band aids
well no tools yet, not much can be done without editor
Not entirely true. The StarUI mod fundamentally improves the game quite a bit compared to the default.
>have to use an ui to fix oblivion in 2006
>STILL have to use an ui mod to fix starfield in 2023
bethesda are such a fricking joke
Why would you even mod AC6?
starfield has 70x more mods than armored core
>game gets updated for absolutely useless shit like adding a FOV slider
>everyone were already using third party fixes to change FOV
>now some mods are broken and I need to wait for them to be updated
Frick you, Todd.
it removes the loading screens? no? then frick off
starslop
I'm not playing your game Todd.
Why did they think not adding sentient aliens was a good idea? Your universe isn't unique just because humans are the only intelligent species. It's just fricking bland. I thought at first they were just hiding it for a bit reveal but lol nope, even at the end still nothing. The Universe they do have is surprisingly generic for a Bethesda game. These Lads made TES they should be making some crazy ass space universe not this
the dev members who made the original TES games are no longer there, in case that wasn't obvious.
The original TES games were randomly generated messes with none of the gameplay loop that makes TES satisfying and fun if you couldn't tell.
There are sentient aliens though, in fact the terrormorphs are psionic as well, the game just barely does anything with them
I never played the ancient TES games, but were they actually that trippy? Or is everyone just talking about Morrowind? Daggerfall at least looks like one of the most generic fantasy rpgs you could come up with. And Oblivion and Skyrim aren't really that "crazy ass"
Arena and DF are nothing like Morrowind or Oblivion or anything else. They have their own qualities and sort of set the lore grounding no one who actually played the originals would use that terminology.
>These Lads made TES
no, the indians who made starfield did not make TES
Adding different alien races, cultures and planets would have been too much work. They didn’t even bother adding swimming bro
I imagine one of the DLCs will be centered around some precursor alien civilization which turns out to be just humans in the end
I've got four or five games in my steam library with updates pending. Should I make a thread for each one of those, too?
>still no brightness slider
>still no proper hdr
who the frick ever uses brightness sliders in games
just adjust your monitor properly and never touch that shit ever again
that's cool that you take dick in your ass but there's no need to share
>monitor brightness set to 0
>game is still too bright
What now?
set your monitor correctly instead of thinking more zeroer means more gooder
face the other way anon
let the patterns on the wall guide you
ReShade might help
neutral LUTs mod
also your monitor is shit
Bethesda has less talent than Bioware these days
>IT FIXES EVERYTHING!
>american devs
>IT FIXES EVERYTHING!
Does it fix this?
What the frick? Do they hire 10 year old Indian kids as voice actors?
It's a Russian female voice accidentally used for the street shitter bearded NPC
Why is this thread even still alive?
People who never played the game need to chime in.
Sony fanboys rampant damage control
After an entire month post launch, 4 full work weeks, they have truly achieved the impossible by adding an FOV slider. Bethesdrones are by far the biggest group of homosexuals out of any fan base.
>FOV slider
I think its insane they didn't have one in at launch, they added it to fricking 76 but didn't think to reuse that for Starfield?
most developers are total clueless fricking morons that can't into changing a fricking lightbulb let alone make a proper game and it won't be fixed because we have a wave of moronic zoomers entering the industry that will frick everything up even further. the boomers literally kept the game dev industry classy and clean
>FOV slider
I CAN SEE FOR FOOKIN MILES!!!
i dont trust anyone who has put more than 2 days of playtime total into this. thats like the mark where i got fed up. took me a day of feeling terrible playing it.
it was like a fever dream. last time i felt this way was playing wow classic and retail wow
Fast travel is what ruins this game most of all. There is no continuity to anything, it's interruption upon interruption.
yep exactly. they couldn't make a proper space game if they were offered a trillion dollars to. not even a trillion dollars would make this garbage ass company make a proper game
it's not even an engine fault they chose to make it that way
I imagine every time QA complained about how game plays they were slapped unconscious.
It is still shitty Oblivion list UI, ability to sort it doesn't make it better only less painful to use.
Stop being so negative dude
I spent 100+ hours in this piece of shit because I love space games and ship despite being extremely limited feels great but I seriously put it below ME Andromeda that's how annoying all these issues make it.
you should load it up right now and dump another 100 hours in it frick it
Maybe in 5 years.
BG3 patch notes:
>100s of fixes each time
Starfield patch notes:
>Hey, the game is still massively broken, but we fixed ONE quest and added FOV sliders
they didn't even fix power from beyond bug
>3 dot points of notes within a month for a patch
WHAT THE FRICK WERE THE DEVS THINKNIG
I don't think Todd understands how sloppy his game came out.
God I hate Sarah, she nags you about fricking everything to the point I wouldn't be shocked if she complained you were still breathing. Why on earth make a character like that? I'm having fun with Starfield, but all of the main companions are terrible. I'd take a Serana or a Lydia any day of the week over these frickwits.
Hello sars, sorry I late
Starfield is the best game that has ever been made.
Todd won.
What if Fallout 4 but we remove all buildings and NPCs
>shoot gun
>press escape to pause gameplay to get different gun
>shoot gun
this is the premise of shitfield
Haaaaaa holy shit are you fricking serious. that's all they added. They are the diversity hires of the gaming industry.
it's just one of many patches. you think one is enough to fix everything? even baldur's gate 3 has gone through over 10 big updates already and still the game is bugged as hell
>five or more years in development
>and then another year or two of bugfix patches
Kinda fricked how not only this is becoming the industry's standard but people are also apparently fine with this as long the first 1/3 of the game is playable.
