Why did everyone pretend to like this game in the first month of release? You’d be hard-pressed to find ANY praise for this game nowadays.

Honeymoon period.
Indian marketers
I can't believe what a shill that loser is.
dignity goes down as inflation goes up
They got paid by Bethesda to give good reviews.
because everyone expected that it would be a success and gave it high ratings because of that
>Why did everyone pretend to like this game in the first month of release?
Because you made this up?
You're forgetting the amount of 9s and 10s this game received upon release.
What are you talking about? Even fricking IGN gave it a 7, which is around -10/10 on normal person scale. Also no one gives a frick about journalists.
>what are you talking about
Are you fricking blind or what? No shit journalists are bullshit, this thread is literally about that.
Literally no one gives a frick about what Destructoid thinks. By this metric all games in existence are loved. The reality is that the overwhelming majority of people think that Starfield is ultra goyslop.
Nobody takes game journalist serious anymore. A lot of them are just non-gamer journalists using it as stepping stone
Nobody takes game journalists seriously anymore *unless they review a game I don't like badly, then they're based.
Haven't you seen the wall of 10/10 from Bethesda? As well as the insane amount of hate that IGN got from giving the game a 7/10?
Like bethesda fanboys were fricking mindbroken and hating on everyone.
hating on the populat thing is not allowed anymore in the forced positivity era of the internet, otherwise you're just a contrarian
Damn bro can you point me to the good-people-only internet? That sounds so much better than the internet we have here in reality.
>le gigachad
this should be your first signal off
it was unironically used by the handful of deeply mentally ill genetic refuses haunting this board to shitpost about zelda by claiming it'd steal goty from it
now that starfield didn't even get nominated they stopped pretending to like the game
The people that like the game probably don't even know this place exists.
I hate everybody that bought this game. What waste to whine about the game being mediocre after you've filled Bethesda coffers with gold. Not like there being prior sign of the developer having decline in quality.
are you that moron that goes around accusing everyone of saying the game is bad, bought the game?
Because moron the game was leaked before launch.
no dumbass I'm complaining about the people that bought it and are figuring it out.
People got paid to sponsor it on their channels. It happens on twitch all the time too, where a streamer gets paid to do a stream of a new game and once they collect the money they start to shit talk the game because they got the money already. Like with raid shadow legends.
I really like the game
They just assumed everyone would agree to like it. People have finally realized that Bethesda is not as good as you think they are and that we have given them the benefit of the doubt for far too long. Bethesda hasn't made a great game since Oblivion.
I like it despite its many frick ups.
>moron gamergators rail against "paid reviews"
>now honest reviews are dead and it's shills as far as the eye can see
you made this bed, now lie in it.
It became fashionable to be contrarian against Ganker's contrarian opinions. If the game is actually bad people everyone forgets about it after a few weeks of shitposting and moves on. If the game has black people in prominent roles it will get spammed on Ganker and every thread will be a shitstorm that either 404s or reaches 500 posts in an hour or two.
>if the game is actually bad people everyone
Frick
Hallo saars the gaymanlives review is very good
I thought it was a decent game. Had fun with it, tried it recently with the FSR3 mod on my 7900XTX and manage to get full 165 fps locked on Ultra settings.
Feels smooth.
I bought it on release, and I loved it playing it nonstop for about a month. Then after doing two fresh playthoughs and one NG+ run, I just felt uninterested in playing more for a while. Before that happened, I was convinced it was at least as good as Fallout 4. But after a while, I felt like I'd just seen the same shit "dungeons" placed too many times. There are very few quests that are anything more than "go talk to this person and come back", and its mostly the faction quests, of which there are not very many. The faction quests are good, but the game leans really hard on you doing radiant side shit. But it felt like there were just very few of these and they get copy-pasted to oblivion and back. Once I realized I'd cleared the same spacer hideout upwards of fifteen times on as many different planets, down to the same terminal notes, it just made the game feel lame.
It's a great game, worth playing. But it's not Oblivion or Skyrim, or Fallout 3 or New Vegas. I won't be getting lost in playing it off and on for years.
Because the majority of Bethesda fans haven't played one of their games in years. Many of them skipped 76 or didn't play it much. People convinced themselves it was great before it even came out and it was only through a month or so of exposure that they were forced to admit that it sucked. The honeymoon period was longer and more powerful for the average "Skyrim is my favorite game of all time" normie than for somebody that hangs out here and is soaked in Bethesda related shitflinging non stop.
People will say they hate it for the next 9 months or so, then people will come back in another year and say it was actually really good.
