Sci-fi is more palpable to normies than Fantasy is.
The fact Skyrim saw the success that it did is actually kind of an outlier (shoutouts to Game of Thrones for making fantasy stuff mainstream the very same year Skyrim was released)
Really all they need to do is advertise it as "From the makers of Skyrim" and it will sell.
>Sci-fi is more palpable to normies than Fantasy is
Not at all. Star Wars and Star Trek were breakout hits at their respective periods for pushing boundaries with special effects and writing on Trek's part. Very few other Sci-Fi make it to those lofty peaks.
Fantasy on the other hand has been hitting it out of the park again and again for decades. LotR, GoT, Harry Potter, D&D, etc. etc. etc.
That's not even going into video games, where fantasy has been the staple since Zork, even before CRPGs. The most popular MMOs are fantasy (Everquest, WoW, Final Fantasy), and the most popular action games are fantasy, like Elden Ring and Witcher.
Normie Sci-Fi has Mass Effect, another example of writing being the primary motivator, Dead Space, and half-popular flops like No Man's Sky. Very few companies are trying to tap the space sci-fi audience, and most of them are primarily flight sims or 4X.
I guess people have really short memories, cp77 didn't even run in 2/3 platforms, no way starfield doesn't run on the consoles, it's a first party title after all
It will be the most downloaded game in history on that slop trough known as "Game Pass". Mark my words, the freeloaders are going to gobble this up ASAP. Game Pass, no PS5. Yup, sales wise Starfield is going to be a disaster.
Didn't read
That would be pretty impressive
The expectations aren’t as high and neither is the money invested so that’s unlikely.

>Completely forgot about Halo and Half-Life
Alright I'm officially moronic.
And on the non-vidya media side of things you forgot about Alien and Terminator
Good

>redditfrog
Fact: your shitty stale meme did not come from Ganker, have a nice day
>Anti-Defamation League shill
Go back
Not even fallout 76 flopped
Wrong
No it won't snoy
to Flop one needs to be released first

Unlike CDPR, people expect (and want) a buggy mess from Bethesda. It's part of what make their games fun.
homie didnt play witcher 3
I doubt it. It will be boring as shit tho, and the most forgettable bethesda game.
Worst case scenario for Starfield is that it's just the same shit as Fallout 4, which means it won't be nearly as buggy and unplayable as Cyberpunk.
If it's Fallout 4 but with a better aesthetic and dialogue system than that's all I really want
>cyberpunk
>flop
>Single Player Bethesda RPG will flop.
Do you possess even a single digit IQ?
nobody cares about starfield. especially after the gameplay reveal
I care about starfield
don’t fool yourself.
If they manage to stay for more than a month on the stores, they'll have achieved already more than what Cyberpunk did.
