Does reverse grip have any practical use? I just feel like you have to do extra movement just to mimic a standard style.

Starkiller vs Vader in force unleashed 2 was fantastic, why are people complaining? It's not like it undersold vader, and Galen was able to win because, as revealed in the fight, he's literally a monster force weapon created specifically to kill sith lords, and he's also so stupid and caveman brained that he can't have an existential crisis and so Vader's attempts to corrupt his spirit and intention naturally fail. It even leads to some of the best exchanges in star wars, where Vader tries to convince Galen that his feelings of love are pointless and illusory, because his own emotional detachment and coping mechanisms have blinded him to the fact that this would obviously just make starkiller even angrier and more determined to kill him. He's beaten half to death by a man who actually had the conviction that Anakin lacked.

He was trying to confuse Galen's mind with an identity crisis, but Galen is a based moron caveman who couldn't give a damn about the concept of identity. But also, yes, Vader's reasoning WAS kind of moronic, which is part of the point of the exchange. Vader was trying to trick Galen using the same lies that he had told HIMSELF, lies that he had embodied so long he forgot they weren't true.

Starkiller was able to hold back the Emperor while the rebel leadership escaped, Ahsoka had to be saved from Vader with tine travel. The only way he doesn't win is if he holds back for whatever reason.
