Extraordinarily slow, but also somewhat steady.
At this point I'm actually almost done, all that's left is including the ability to remove already built in S-mods. It's going on the same screen, right between the button for increasing the S-mod limit and the list of hull mods that aren't built in. And then I will have to do some cleanup and testing, but it shouldn't be too bad. I tried to consider the obvious edge cases and I'm mostly reusing existing logic anyway, the only thing I did is merge a bunch of screens into one basically.
Graphic design is not my passion so any feedback is appreciated, barring the obvious unfinished / misaligned / overflowing UI elements.
>all that's left is including the ability to remove already built in S-mods
Any chance you could also add the ability to selectively remove d-mods at the same time?
I think all Starsector needs is a solid endgame and a conclusion to the Galatian storyline. Everything else is just extra credit. This is honestly one of my favorite games of all time, and I say that while having a library of several thousand titles. I just don't get why people hate it so much. Like yes, Alex was mistaken to nerf carriers, and some changes were kinda dumb. No argument there. But people act like the game is some irredeemable trash pile.
Nobody acts like the game is an irredeemable trash pile, it's the exact opposite. The core gameplay of getting ships, outfitting them and then using them in battles is god tier. However the rest of the game could do a better job at playing into that, and that's what people complain about. Take the new quests in 0.96a for example, they do absolutely nothing to take advantage of how fricking good the core gameplay of Starsector is. The game needs another 100 things like finding the ziggurat, or the cryosleeper, or the coronal hypershunt, or the remnant XIV fleet. Not a VN that you click through, but cool shit that's just out there. Cool shit to fight and new cool shit to get. And it needs an actual reason to fight battles against other factions. Without mods, like 90% of the fleets you fight are pirates, ludds, remnants, derelicts, scavengers and shitty traders. The only real reason to ever fight a fleet from the actual main factions is bounties. The game would be much better if you were constantly fighting hegemony, persean league, sindrian and luddic church fleets instead of most of the aforementioned groups. Especially the derelicts, I mean what the frick alex? How could he possibly think that it would be fun to beat up the same utter piss and shit trash derelict ship with no shield and no damage, over and over and over.
There are so many terrifying ships in the game and the only one you fight somewhat frequently is the radiant. That really is a shame. And instead of addressing the issue, alex just adds another 5 capitals and calls it a day.
>Especially the derelicts, I mean what the frick alex? How could he possibly think that it would be fun to beat up the same utter piss and shit trash derelict ship with no shield and no damage, over and over and over.
It's weird, there's like three Derelict expansion mods, and only about 1.3 actually good mods between them (DEX is mostly good but barebones, and ATDD+ has heaps of fricking UGLY ships but has shit like probes actually fighting in combat), but despite not even being an actual faction mod, they feel way more connected to the main gameplay loop than like 90% of mod factions. Also goes to show, Derelicts could actually be interesting if Alex gave them even a shred of attention.
I assume its because he currently has some semblance of control by having a lot of stuff in the forums even if it enslaves him to modding troony whims. If he released it on steam he would get vocally shat on for glacial development speed even if they attempt to suppress it. All their actions indicate they like the status quo rather than actually finishing things.
[...]
Do you really want to complicate the mod scene with steam drama? Nia Tahl is a drop in the bucket compared to that.
It would just break the monopoly on relying on the forums. I would expect hilarious drama on them trying to pull their shit on steam workshop though.
The game is good, my problem with it is that every time I go and look up what's being added to the latest update I'm bombarded by this guy talking in "homosexual that went to university for game design" and a bunch of shit that I don't want, didn't care about, didn't even know were "a problem", didn't ask for and I'm somehow supposed to just accept that he's going to delay the release of the actual content for whatever game designer side quest shit he came up with while not working on the actual meat of the pie.
I am willing to play the game with whatever the frick this man wants to put in it because for most games no one besides the devs have input. But hearing him talk about the players like literal children, because that's what you're taught as a game designer and apparently he's socially moronic or something, is infuriating and makes me want to hate anything that he adds to the game and that I don't immediately like. Example: >Alex added slipstreams to make the space less empty/boring and allow for some faster travel >whatever, plays fine, not an issue since I can just angle in and out of them or burn out, maybe two in five trips I actually get to use them to get to my destination, back to the actual game >Alex then blogposts about fixing the slipstreams and acknowledges that people didn't really get to use them that often because they were going the wrong way like 60% of the time >his solution: apparently I was having fun the wrong way, slipstreams were always meant to be obstacles even though earlier he said that wasn't the point, I have dumb baby brain since apparently I never perceived them to be an obstacle because of how easy it is to bypass them, so now he's going to make it overall harder to bypass them because of his really shitty fix to "the problem" of him making the slipstreams spawn as redundantly as possible >now every slipstream has to be "useful" and I need to be penalized if I just want to go across them
Great game, but shut the frick up.
Honestly, it doesn't. You don't need a game design degree to make a game and some of the decisions that he takes genuinely confound me since it feels like he spends more time finding things to perceive as problems to then fix those problems only to give me problems I never had at any skill level since I've picked up the game. And like the other anon said he definitely fricking sounds like someone who has at least seen a couple of videos on it and skipped the parts.
I guess this is what having 24/7 access to feedback does to a motherfricker who feels that he has to justify his choices.
it's not that complicated, he wants to maintain interest in the game by signaling that he's doing things while not actually doing anything that takes any work or effort (hence 5 years of balance patches and 10 years of early access)
All right lads, I want to do my best impression of an ace combat boss. Best capitals/supercapitals for filling the screen with an unholy number of missiles?
>used syringes on the floor >bruising on the inside of her elbow >purple stains on her body and the sweat-drenched sheets

breasts or GTFO, attention prostitute
actually considering Starsector's extremely small female playerbase I'll have to extend this demand
Pussy or GTFO
>see Starsector thread >get the urge to play again >remember that on every playthrough so far (4 or 5), I got terrible systems and basically knew once I explored that I can't get very good colonies >lose urge
What do?
Just get the mod that lets you make a custom system if your autism does not let you accept something imperfect. You can do whatever to limit yourself if you think its not balanced or legit you can also use the program that lets you scan the sector to see if there is anything good rng wise that got generated before you commit to the save.
>I got terrible systems and basically knew once I explored that I can't get
Get this mod, customize as much as you want, it's very easy to learn. I have this mod installed because I can't accept not having good star system and because star system generation is pure shit. Besides colonies are money printers anyways, so why not go full steam ahead?
Just get the mod that lets you make a custom system if your autism does not let you accept something imperfect. Perfect wasn't the standard. They were really quite bad. Thanks for the advice though, scanning like that would be another good way to do it.
If you roll dogshit high hazard planets just spam low upkeep shit like mining and farming until you find/terraform a low hazard planet to do all of your manufacturing on.
Or, you know, interact with other factions and invade a good planet.
keep re-rolling until you get an optimum set up in penelope's star
namely you want 1 ruins, 1 frozen planet, 2 gas giants and shit ton of asteroid belts
-use yunru's mod for basicly infinite loot monthly from ruins planet (at cost of story points and bonus for assigningalpha ai core)
-the mining station mod for good starter base with good early game output especially with ai cores in mining drone building
-then drop siphon stations on the gas giant and a fuel production on the siphon station
lastly use terraforming mod to melt the ice planet into a lovely water planet for a stable food production
the monthly auto-loot will keep you from burning out on exploring shit just for the loot so you dont end up losing the fun of exploration in the disappointment of bad loot tables
also get expanded sector for the shits and giggles
bonus for space trucking mod for ez early game monies
get mods like UAF and you get a confirmed high price shipping lane since the trucking fee scales with distance
if you start shipping high value cargo like drugs and heavy weapons thats a gauranteed good haul if you can handle the heat
Penelope's star is based and gauranteed near core world is objectively best system for colonization barring modded in systems
Alternatively. My best run consisted of taking pirate and pather colonies to carve out an empire in the core. My first one is the pirate base in Mayasura. Ally with them and the Persean League and farm the frick out the heg when they constantly try to invade Mairaath. You can kick tri-tach out the system too and end up with two stations and the Mayasura Navy to protect you.
Speaking of Penelope's star, any modders lurking this thread? How difficult would it be to mod that system to remove the RNG and always give the best spawns? Rerolling is annoying if you want core colonies.
i forget the name of he mod but there is a mod that has a set planet near the core that is decent and configurable so you always have SOMETHING you can colonize.
https://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=24346.0 wait here it is.
>How difficult would it be to mod that system to remove the RNG and always give the best spawns?
Not too difficult, take a look at my KoC. I essentially did this when I added Randis to the Arcadia system. If you have no experience it will take you a little while to get your head around the code but it's shouldn't take more than a couple of hours (and a couple of crashes) to achieve.
Alternatively, use console commands and you can be done in 5 min.

nta i want to play with your koc but the names trigger my autism so im waiting to play with your koc once again if you fricking release the new version

i can understand if some autistic monkey refuses to use any kind of mods but using mods to cheat the system in a way that still wastes a huge amount of your time is just insane
And done, here's a link if anyone wants it. https://mega.nz/file/gscmmAIB#Rr3lVzROvntmn6tyzKozgPqoisVJXef76CzK8kLdTg8
It's not beautiful, but it is functional and it should be stable, I've tested it a bit. Works as a replacement for the original Progressive S-mods on the same save, although you will have to disable that one obviously. You can also enable the old dialog based UI alongside the new one by setting "enableLegacyUI": false in progsmod_settings.json - there's some feature related to modules or something that I couldn't figure out the meaning of.
Overall I have mixed feelings about modding Starsector. Alex built a very convenient modding interface for things that he anticipated modders doing, and those are nice. But other parts have either a weird interface or no interface at all. And in a moment of paranoid schizophrenia, Alex decided that you are not allowed to look at the core source code, so you can't even figure out how a function is supposed to work.
Why he made this decision to obfuscate the source is umfathomable to me. Was he worried about code theft, as if Starsector was a marvel of software engineering? Was he worried that people would make fun of his code? Or even worse, was he scared of mods overhauling fundamental game mechanics?
Either way, I think he's shooting himself in the foot. If you ever wondered why Starsector has hundreds of ship, weapon and faction mods but almost no meaningful content expansions, that's why. Alex made it very easy to make the former and borderline impossible to make the latter.
>Was he worried about code theft, as if Starsector was a marvel of software engineering?
he was worried about outright copying, rebadging the entire game. illegal, but expensive to prove in court.
if you ask alex how function X that you need for goal Y works he'll probably tell you
I can see that argument for a shitty free to play mobile game which is mindlessly consumed by children, but not for a passion project niche indie game. And besides, what's stopping me from just reselling a pirated copy of Starsector?
I'm not sold on the benefits but it negatively affects anyone who writes mods involving Java code.
Copycuck brainrot infests the entire community. See modders blubbering about licenses that hold zero (0) legal value and thinking people will steal their freeware addons made out of derivative content.
you're overreacting to him just running an obfuscator over some shit he thought no one would ever need to interact with. if you need to access something in _obf just ask him, he's usually very helpful
The middle one is from PAGSM and is the captain leading that giant fleet orbiting around Volturn. The two others are personifications of Mayasuran ships from the Mayasura mod.
Why is the Sindrian Diktat not just part of the Persean League? What makes the Sindrians special? As far as I can tell it's presented as like a comically incompetent corporatist OPEC/North Korea expy
Ruled by megalomaniac dictator, possesses only antimatter fuel production facilities capable of meeting sector-wide demand. He has nothing to gain by joining up and they have too much to lose by fricking with him.
>He has nothing to gain by joining up
Aren't they de facto in active conflict against the Hedge because he's a defector? His two markets aren't exactly good enough to stop an invasion, especially since it's implied the government is terrible and corrupt compared to the Hegemony
The threat of half the population of the Hegemony starving to death because there is no fuel to bring food in is what stops the invasion. The entire economy of the sector runs on Sindrian gas and the risk of being cut off for even a few months is enough to stop anyone making overt moves.
>What makes the Sindrians special? As far as I can tell it's presented as like a comically incompetent corporatist OPEC/North Korea expy
Alex wanted to the Sindrians to be 'bad' unfortunately in doing so he gave them the most unique and developed personality out of all the factions so people gravitated towards them.
Alex didn't like this, so now he's trying to make them 'stupid' to drive people away from them instead of developing the other factions personalities.
>People actually read the backstory of the factions
Every lore dump in the game besides maybe the ships is unreadable, the text is as appealing to read medicine leaflets
The writing is not that bad itself, but the pacing is awful. Much like a random 30 minute action segment does not belong in a VN, a random 30 minute VN segment does not belong in Starsector. I wish that it was spread out more. It's the kind of game that you play more than once anyway, so why not let the player stumble across it himself?
Imagine for a minute that the red planet thing is actually something really interesting and not just a random planet with a shield generator on it. That's a great way to inject lore into the game. Rumor in a bar, have the player fly to the edge of the sector so he's curious what's out there and probably has not read much in the last like hour, cause he was busy flying around. Or that stranded Hegemony division and their spooky AI fleet.
That's infinitely more interesting than flying back and forth in the core as you follow a quest line, reading through endless dialog. Those meetings could have been an email.
ah yes the great sindrian personality of uuuuuuh. Fuel production and lobster. maybe blew up a planet too but who give a shit every other faction did that too.
>Fuel production and lobster. maybe blew up a planet too but who give a shit every other faction did that too.
Now, tell me what the other factions have going for them...
Alright.
- Tritach: AI cores, space amazon work in the pod shenanigans, patrick bateman is the average citizen there
-hegemony: closest thing you get to space communists, kafka levels of bureaucracy, chico is a whole commie block planet
-persian league: Slaves Lmao and tax evasion
-church:space catholics. REPENT
-pathers: space jihadists, also got brother cotton and tea. lots of tea to go with that terrorism.
-pirates: honestly they are just moronic.
-indies: literally who?
He's allied with both of them. Diktat has +75 relations with the League and weapon and hull-mod descriptions show he's getting tech support from Tri-Tach.
>one of their best admirals even
I'm pretty sure they changed that lore since deciding that the Diktat needs to be moronic and incompetent. If not then it doesn't make sense that one of the best admirals presumably in the sector is designing dogshit ships that don't work
>amazing battlefield commander and a charismatic leader but a bad ship designer.
An amazing battlefield commander knows what he needs on the battlefield, it's part of the job. Bad design results from the top level being disconnected from usage, which is not the case if he's a good commander.
>An amazing battlefield commander knows what he needs on the battlefield
Yeah, his battlefield is nipping rebellion and Heg interference before they even happen, so what he needs first and foremost is a grandiose, numerous, and completely obedient military. He also needs to constantly project an air of total unity. Andrada put a kiss-ass in charge of all shipbuilding in the Diktat because he needs yes-men first, competent people second. Dictatorships are good at keeping themselves in power, but not much else, and will mostly run as long as a real push (such as Andrada's death without a designated heir) doesn't come.

>Yeah, his battlefield is nipping rebellion and Heg interference before they even happen
That's political, he's not a politician. He's a decorated admiral with ostensibly plenty of battlefield experience who designs ships that are terrible (some of which are modifications of ships he used to use that are demonstrably worse). It's simply poor writing.

This is just silly modernity projection. Military rule has come to a disastrous end far more often than strongman "dictatorships" in history (and more often than not they're the same thing). Monarchy as an institution lasted for 3000 years and produced some of the most stable countries in history.

>expecting people whose opinions come from which post got the most outrage upvotes on reddit to have nuanced views on political systems
>I'm pretty sure they changed that lore since deciding that the Diktat needs to be moronic and incompetent.
You can thank the discord for that one. Alex really needs to grow a spine and stop obeying them. At this stage it's almost certain they have dirt on him.
>Diktat needs to be moronic and incompetent
Is it true that David or whoever it was wanted to spread the message about Diktat = Space Russia = Bad, thus making them moronic?
How can that be? The Hegemony is ruled by a military junta and they're the 'good guy' faction of the game that never loses wars and beats fleets 100x more technologically advanced than them, surely it isn't some silly real world analogy politics
>one of their best admirals even
I'm pretty sure they changed that lore since deciding that the Diktat needs to be moronic and incompetent. If not then it doesn't make sense that one of the best admirals presumably in the sector is designing dogshit ships that don't work
This isn't true. He can be an amazing battlefield commander and a charismatic leader but a bad ship designer.
I think of him as being something like Douglas MacArthur if MacArthur had made himself dictator for life of Japan after WW2.
It's kind of irrelevant, iirc the sindrian story thing implies that Andrada himself is dead or something and his subordinates don't really know what to do or if to announce it
Nah he's still alive
Macario's just keeping his old ass on ice until they can clone him to make a new "heir" since all his b***hes keep birthing daughters instead of sons
They produce the majority of the fuel in the core worlds, making them have a lot of soft power.
one because any faction that makes them mad loses their fuel deals, and two because none other other major factions want them to be annexed by a rival because they'd be in a disadvantage
They really ought to still have their old Hegemony ships. I'm not sure what mods it is that do it, but I know some mods give the Sindrians small amounts of Hegemony and even XIV ships to represent this.
It's like how everyone gravitated towards XIV ships because they have a striking black/orange color pallet instead of being unpainted beige, brown, or an ugly baby blue.
If all we're getting is going to be shit we could get from mods, Alex could at least catch the memo that the other factions could do with special ship liveries like XIV and Lion's Guard. The Leaugers especially feel terrifically undeserved. I want to see firsthand just how much of a sham the whole "PL==FREEDOM!" thing actually is.
>Onslaught gets the evil fascist workplace safety modifications >Pulse cannons overheat and blow up the ship because they cant vent excess flux into some poor ratings face like the Domain intended anymore

too slow to be sent to resolve the opis situation (too important to put under the authority of the dubiously loyal war hero andrada)
Sometimes when battles start the whole screen goes black with the exception of the cursor. All the ships are moving, I can hear fighting, shields weapons but all black. Running a 6700XT with 12gb vram so that shouldn't be an issue.
>Goes through all this effort for new ships and systems >No basic spellchecker >No proofreaders that actually speak English >Half of the guns are worthless garbage with unparseably generic names while the other half are just reskins >The faction has its weights set so that it's just automatically friendly with everyone but will also just pick one faction to bully and invade over and over, usually the LC
Is it just me or are bounties extremely under-rewarded compared to exploration missions? The choice seems to be >go to the outer reaches of the sector with an efficient, fast exploration fleet for 70-120k just to scan something with no real threat of attack, plus optional combat for additional reward in blueprints/cargo etc
or >go to the outer reaches of the sector to fight 7 cruisers, a capital ship, and dozens of destroyers and freighters with a fleet that can take them on (costing approximately 10 bazillion in supplies and fuel) and make sure you have enough fuel and supplies to get back after you spent another 200 on recovering your ships from battle: worth about 150k
Bounties in this game are:
1. 3 destroyers 5 frigates for 30k credits, half of them you spend on buying fuel you lost while getting to them
2. Paragon spam with 20 more ships for 200k credits, which is not worth the effort.
Bounties in this game are a meme bait.
I just got one for a pirate base, 50k credits. wtf am I supposed to do with that? maybe I am just shit at the game and you can take down bases with low end early game fleets but this is ridiculous compared to the exploration stuff
Bounties are great if you want to take a chance at getting a unique ship. Like you take a hegemony bounty if they have an XIV battlegroup onslaught, or if a diable bounty is fielding a pandemonium.

a damaged tier 1 station is a pushover, if you're careful you can kill it with a lone destroyer
>Doesn't the new shit directly say he's in a medical facility
That's the head of operations, the woman in the big squadron you talk with is coma guy's second-in-command

Wait really? I thought they were talking about lord gas station the whole time. Fair enough, was weird how that "ended" I thought something was going to happen.
>no cheating
The AI 100% cheats on all stats. Ammo count, missiles, abilities, recovery, regeneration, all of it. It is 1000x worse out of combat though.
No, it's just extremely stingy with using them. The AI usually only uses torpedos if its targets flux level is almost maxed, even if it has like 20 torpedos left and could just dump them to instantly overload the shields.
they do not, you can see their equipment lists in the .faction
>no cheating
The AI 100% cheats on all stats. Ammo count, missiles, abilities, recovery, regeneration, all of it. It is 1000x worse out of combat though.
you can trivially confirm that you're a moron by just adding a simple logging script to an AI ship, but i suspect this is rather beyond you
ok hear me out
a luddic path IED ship
but it's rigged to launch out a frigate as an escape pod so the pather crew can escape and continue their jihad in an overdriven frigate after priming the IED and plotting its final movements into enemy lines
more opportunities to kill servants of moloch while not costing any more loyal pathers
in fact I think more capitals should have escape frigates so getting your ship blown up won't mean the end of your contributions to the fleet during a battle
think of it this way
would you rather die to your own ship blowing up in a massive explosion
or would you rather die taking out even more infidels than you would if you just stayed in your IED ship thanks to having a backup ship you can get into right before your previous one blows up, so you can launch even more torpedoes and machine gun rounds at the unholy
I understand the logic, and it is the better idea, but that's not how they think. This goes for many groups employing suicide bombers in real life as well. There's nothing more glorious than using one's own life to take out infidels. There is a greater reward in the afterlife for those willing to commit to the ultimate sacrifice. Or something along those lines.
There is also a certain logic to staying behind, as last second corrections can be made to make absolutely certain the target is hit, rather than relying on luck.
>would you rather die taking out even more infidels than you would if you just stayed in your IED ship thanks to having a backup ship you can get into right b
before your previous one blows up, so you can launch even more torpedoes and machine gun rounds at the unholy
There is only one answer to this question:
Pilot Dram, set ramming course,
Set auto-pilot at close range and get in escape ship,
Watch the fireworks,
Pilot escape ship, set ramming course in to another enemy ship,
Set auto-pilot at close range and get in escape pod,
Watch the fireworks,
Pilot escape pod, set ramming course in to another enemy ship,
Set auto-pilot at close range and jump out in vac suit,
Watch the fireworks,
Use oxygen tank as a crude thruster and ram yourself in to another enemy ship,
Become one with Ludd.
On the story mission to get the Hamatsu, I can't seem to find the damn thing. The system only has one massive fleet of carriers with S Mods that I'm barely avoiding, do I need to beat it to get the hamatsu back?
>It's very unlikely that noah posts in these threads.
He used to, that's for sure. Made a fool of himself plenty of times. I'm unsure if he still posts but the dude mentions us enough.
Uhh just about everything in my modlist? Though I always get rebuffed, either it wasn't available or low relationship points, which is a pain in the ass to raise. I'm here for work, not making friends.
Go conquer a planet of millions of people using 200000 credits worth of supplies and men so I can pay you 240000 and eight relationship points for your trouble.
please haul more than your fleet’s cargo capacity in <ore/food/metals/organics>
I’ll pay you the price of a freighter you’ll need to carry it all if you get it there on time
Don't forget you were paid less depending on the stability of the planet.
This is unironically not very bad, I think it has to do with whatever Alex cooked up in the calculation that it counts your total cargo space and not the available cargo space.
>Install Better Captains >Go down the Industry route >Elite the anti-D-mod option >Just spam enormous volumes of alpha striking frigates and destroyers at the enemy, uncaring if they explode, because they have a 95% recovery rate and an 80% chance to not even get D-mods when destroyed
More than CSV changes actually. I just changed some missile behavior because there is some serious garbage like a missile that costs the same OP as the squall, except it's dumbfire, with inferior range and inferior DPS in the large slot version.
It has the exact same engine stats as the squall, same sounds, just lazy stuff and seemingly a resprite with damage changes (for the worse.)
So I made it into a more fun missile that is a squall with active tracking which could be OP, but I'm going to make it be a course correction style missile so it is about the same as the squall, just with a different flight path and still inferior range.
I'm also thinking of making the terribad cargo/freighter/troop transports have composite instead of ballistic slots so you could toss a missile on them for more fun in early fleet battles. It's supposedly a missile faction. They look cooler than vanilla logistics ships and are based on military ships so they should play the part.
I'll have to play around with more stuff to determine what else to change. All the ballistic PD I've used feels piddly and balanced around being low flux.
I like the effect. Do they track well enough to consistently clip frigates? It might be a good sidegrade to the Squall for that purpose.
Provided it doesn't end up hilariously overpowered, I'll try to keep it funbalanced not OP. Then again the Buckbreaker mod exists so who cares.
>Buckbreaker
It was specifically meant to be a frick you to Noah first and foremost, though.

I'm tweaking it, because of the random deviation aim flag they're a little weird but cool. But the flag makes it really hard to actually hit things, and it can't be controlled. If the tracking is too strong the missile kills any frigate, if it's too weak the fact the missiles have a spread that makes them miss constantly. I'm trying to figure out how to get the normal spread like annihilators have to work.

Yeah I saw something like that in the weapon file. I'll do that.
Try suggesting some of those to the dev herself. It seems that her team really smashed the balance hammer on the stuff in the mod to avoid the "anime mod OP" stereotype. Either on forums or her stream I suppose. She might be on one of the discords too.

I doubt she would have trouble. It's probably more like she isn't interested in a proper relationship. Kinda common for women in the military.
She anon? Thats a troon lad, dont fall for it else your gay.
It's quite comical but... She's actually a woman. A biological one at that. It is a surprise, but it is true and confirmed. Can't quite fake it that much.
It's not hard to be a better modder than Noah though. All it takes is not holding both your users and peers in active contempt, or at least not having comical public meltdowns when your terrible design concepts and shitty behavior get called out.
>All it takes is not holding both your users and peers in active contempt
Why is Noah always perma angry to the players? Why even make a mod to shit on your users?
No need for fake approval. She is honestly big enough of a navy autist to appreciate honest criticism. Seems she moved sway from the open decks in her recent designs too.
Actually nice seeing a chill modder that improves.
There will be from what she said. So far the only partially implemented one is on the moon next to the capital and the unique fleet around it. There is also the civilian head of gov on the main planet.
transhumanist, so people get elf ears and fox ears etc and some of their portraits represent that. The guy who makes it may be a furry I haven't looked into it but it doesn't come off like a furry mod. Junkyard Dogs which I like is the one that makes me go ??? sometimes with its ship names.
Anyone have a build for the Adventurer from BigBeans ship pack? I want to use it as a flag ship for my Roider/ mining exploration playthrough. I'm not really sure what to do with it. Maybe converted hanger and a shit load of missles like MIRVs? Pic related
Here's what I ended up with. It can solo onslaughts without much trouble. It's only costing 28 DP but I'm tempted to farm up some D mods since I'm running derelict operations. I kind of want to run a bunch of them in place of cruiser lol
1 Eagle with safety overrides and manuevering jets and 1 HMI Locomotive. I pilot the Eagle and spin in circles behind the Locomotive while it kills everything
Keep them in the backline with some heavy needlers or something and the ship system will tear everything apart, however they are extremely slow and fragile so without support they're completely useless
I always use regular atlasi for transport and never saw the mk2s as worth a frick hence the question. I really like the look of the default Atlas. always wanted to make a bit bigger one as a capital with fighter bays and salvage shit as a flagship.
It actually makes a great early game flagship if you have a solid core of meatshield ships, definitely worth considering. lategame, it's extremely supply efficient for totally raping stations and more expensive capital ships while your cruisers keep them occupied
They're honestly pretty decent, for 24 DP you get 2x large ballistics with an accelerated ammo feeder and 2x large missiles. Makes for a good long range artillery support ship, where the awful defenses don't matter.
Of course a support ship is not very useful if there's nothing defending it, so it's trash in pirate fleets. It's the exact opposite of what they need.
Yeah I didn't realize they were that cheap for the 2 larges. I've been guilty of using small ships with medium slots for that reason (or kites for similar reasons as I said above)
>Yeah I didn't realize they were that cheap for the 2 larges. I've been guilty of using small ships with medium slots for that reason (or kites for similar reasons as I said above)
I've had a lot of success with mudskipper mk2 meme swarms since they have a large ballistic slot (shame it's not a missile slot but oh well)
Yeah, and they're capitals so they get crazy range from a targeting core. I can also highly recommend putting locusts or hydras on them, especially early on. A single locust will obliterate any frigate or destroyer trying to close in on the atlas so you don't need to spend OP on point defense or close range weapons

Makes sense, I was thinking maybe a converted hangar with valk (p)s to act as PD basically.
I use common trash a lot
Max range ke build(squall gauss missilex2 itu ipdai*officerless target leading) for 25 dp is pretty much abusing ai with exceptional range thus mitigating all other shit stat, more so in line formation
Throw in some devastator solves the other long range meta that is fighter. Then abuse colossus mk3 piranha for more projectile spam.
The rest of the fleet goes to flank to funnel enemy back into the fun zone.
Promi mk2 can throw into the line as well, AO tac lance catch fish.
These trash doesn't care about smod or Dmods, most salvagable and black marketable to frick up the sector.
50 Valkens and cataphracts and other robots, with 3 Arma fleet ships for fast refueling, a Pandemonium for Wanzer support, all led by my personal flagship, the Experimental Cataphract and my reserve ship, the Altagrave EX. Nothing in this universe stands up to my mecha might.
Sorry about that, mate. I just forgot their technical names. Valkens, Alestes, wanzers, gareggas, altagraves, etc. There's just so many to keep track of.
Just... call them mechs, anon. Reeee'ing aside have you ever piloted a Valk (P)? I almost find it better than the Alt EX. Thing is crazy powerful and fast.
One of my favorites is the somewhat fragile valken you find in the Nekki system.

Weird. I was -100 even with other modded factions. Maybe something borked then. I honestly liked it and did it multiple times like that. Made friends with pirates and pathers and gave the pirates mech blueprints when I found extras.
>pay 50k credits to foundation of borken for them to magic supplies and fuel to me >don't get them >assume that they'll give them to me another way and continue traveling without buying fuel >run out of fuel >now stuck in a system without fuel >wait a month and still haven't gotten anything
Never should've paid these space israelites.
Never thought I would use that ability, but I did and found out that factions that don't like you will send a comms request just to laugh at you and then leave. Very funny.
Can someone explain why you might bother fielding frigates? They don't seem to do anything better than destroyers except getting blown to pieces and forcing you to scrap them or pay even more to remove defects? The cost of running mules or a hammerhead instead of mudskippers or wolf classes is pretty much trivial when you can easily get 100k from random exploration missions, and the burn level limit means that they don't have a map speed advantage either. The AI always seems to bring massive swarms of them that I instantly disable about 5 seconds into contact with missiles from cruisers
can any starsector god gamers enlighten me? there must be a use for them or there wouldn't be so many, surely
fair enough, I think some of them are pretty cool as well so I was wondering how to justify fielding them
I think if the game had more burn level variety in ships they would be a lot more interesting, since right now it's totally trivial to get fleets with anything up to and including cruisers to burn 10, then capital ship fleets are only a tug (ironically the one frigate I've found a real use for) away. You wouldn't even have to slow everyone else down, just remove the 10 cap on burn levels universally
Arma got me into wolfpack tactics. Their mechs and strikecraft flesh out the smaller craft quite a bit for me and make the game way more interesting. I really enjoy using wolves and brawlers with alestes and other small cheap mechs early on and they really punch above their weightclass.
The strength of frigates is flanking with absurd mobility, but the AI sucks at doing it. What always happens is that frigates rush ahead of the rest of the fleet because they are so fast and then they just explode instantly, because the enemy ships aren't occupied by anything yet. That's not a flank, that's just suicide. And it doesn't help that the AI is awful at using short range ships in general.
destroyers are the actual bait not frigates
frigates are fast enough to run while destroyers just eat shit because they cant run away from real fire power fast enough
they're fast. they're cheap too. money isn't so important but supplies and DP are. and they're very disposable.
having a handful is good for capturing points fast at the start of a fight where you're at your DP cap to get more DP. then you can either retreat them to make room for another cruiser, or have them flank, or even have them suicide into the enemy to make room for another cruiser, because they're so cheap and disposable.
they're also ideal for pursuing defeated fleets, this can be more useful than you would maybe think.
when you're exploring, they're the cheapest way to deal with easy domain fleets.
In the enemy AI's hands, they're useless and are basically free kills, with some exceptions. In your own fleet, you CAN use them effectively but they need some micro to reach their potential. Instead, you could just field any old AI-friendly cruiser with a good loudout and get the same results with less headache. Almost nothing in this game works as intended due to how stupid the AI is, phase ships are the best example of this.

change rape/handholding cooldowns to whatever you want
maybe 1 day at most for both to kinda sync them with Nexelerin mining cycles which are 1 day
the hostile fleets that are sometimes spawned when mining are great sources of extra rapeable prisoners to enslave to supplement any funds you get from selling mined resources
NTA, but do I really have to personally rape the officers to break them? I mean, I know this is how it works in the mod, but I hope RSdev can add maybe an option of throwing them to my crew instead, a man's gotta rest his dick too once in a while.
i asked a while ago to allow designating certain officers for auto-raping that would be raped and broken over time without the player having to manually open the prisoner interaction window every <interval> just to perform one rape
with the intent being that it’d allow you to rape prisoners you don’t care about recruiting or keeping for yourself

Inefficient. You've gotta rape the captured officers from the last battle while engaging in the current battle.
I need (You)r opinion on mods for my next playthrough
Is Iron Shell a good mod? The Hegemony is already the strongest faction with my mods and I'm scared that it will make them even more OP.
How is Unthemed Weapons Collection?
I mean IS is just hegemony repainted with tax mechanic. Like ship wise its pretty much hegemony, characters are just get to certain reputation and get some profit from it and such. Only real unique feature there are operations(but there are just 2 ops if I remember) since you can get free governence over colony and tax relief. So anon I dunno if you have RS you can get clones of rare officers or you just like anime mods then it might be good.
>Iron Shell
Only if you`re planning to rape their leaders, otherwise enjoy shitty taxation mechanic. You`re looking for faction mods only? >Unthemed Weapons Collection?

are you Black folk just obsessed with troons? it's quite hilarious consistently seeing this shit for the past 8 months as a lurker. ain't no fricking way the so called "trannies" have occupied a significant part of your grey matter, it shouldn't be even like that in the first place since you're supposed to deem them as lower than bugmen, beneath anybody's notice. Guy responsible mainly for tahlan and scalartech. Has a lot of controversy by that first mod since he "tried" to force his balance on other mods using nerf code in that mod. Noah was doing a lot of balancing work around factiob mods, said work was basically like this "Your mod's faction cant be stronger than my mod's faction". Thats just scratching surface btw but dont worry other modders alsp have ton of shit simular to that of Noah to some extend.

Oh my fricking god Noah. We all know that walls constantly misgender you on account of your schizophrenia but why you try to cope with it here on /vst/ out of all places? Why not go to idk random or /lgbt/?
It's just a bunch of idiots, possibly kids which got attracted to Starsector through Sseth's video that are insecure in their own masculinity and just use it as an universal insult. And they commonly hate on anything related to anime for sake of hating it. That's about it. Kinda pathetic.
Noah (the man) is a somewhat schizophrenic cross-dressing pedo-inclined individual with -genuine- psychological issues who thinks he can act like a douche and hide behind his protected status as a nutjob. So, he comes here, acts a clown, then runs back to the discord and has very public meltdowns, which get reposted here.

>[Noah is a] universal insult.
This is what Noah has become. A generic catch-all insult, Noah's psychological issues encompass most of the insults you'd generally hurl at someone. His self-identity has been lost, he is not (and never was) a beautiful and unique snowflake, he is and always has been the all singing, all dancing, crap of the earth and his name can be suitably applied to any shitpost you see.
It doesn't help that Noah comes here and pretends to be level-headed, such attempts don't last. He is easily triggered.
She literally doesn't

The best part about the ships is they all have frontal shields and get shit on by everything if they ever turn.
I have tried to watch youtubers and streamers playing starsector and I end up ragequitting because of the fricking luck these homosexuals have. Constant research stations, ships just laying out in waiting, its crazy.
I never though I had bad luck until I watch a guy hitting up random systems getting back to back research stations, a legion, a paragon, easy fight redacteds, etc. Shit looked almost faked.
when 0.96 dropped i did my vanilla playthrough and got this shit within 5 minutes of eachother
the vanilla map is just so small with so few systems that all of them have some good stuff in them
Watch Project Zomboid streams sometimes.. these people are hacking the game i swear, one day and they have working car, weapon, armour, back pack etc while im here sometimes going like 2 weeks without finding anything even remotely good.
>except for the crash / nerf code debacle
My apologies, I thought you were talking about the nerf code he added that affected other mods and subsequently removed.
Not the nerf code he added that crippled his snowflake factions ships if they're in the players fleets and is still present in his mod.
How about the code that causes invasion to fail on his snowflake factions planets, wait, no that's code...
How about the code that... oh wait that's more code...
Does stacking a ridiculous amount of buffs and boons on his colonies count? I suppose not considering he wrote the code for some of those in such a way that only his snowflake faction are able to use them.
You know, you don't make this easy, 90% of the arguments against Tahlan are to do with shit he's coded in to screw over the player and make his snowflake faction more powerful.
Ok, how about the ship that looks like a sloppy vegana? Will that do?
>90% of the arguments against Tahlan are to do with shit he's coded in to screw over the player and make his snowflake faction more powerful.
I wouldn't mind if these were things you could work around and make you feel like you outsmarted them. I saw a streamer invade their planets and it was a flat out grind so I'm glad I never tried that.
Don't know about the other two, but max rep with indies gives you full access to their military ship- and weapons sales without a commission (since they offer none to begin with).
I really like the Anchor class harbor ship from the missing ships pack. It is big and tough but fittingly so. Wish it had more than 4 fighter bays but the rest of it fits my playstyle so well. I always loathe how flagships don't feel anything like flagships in Starsector, this helps alleviate that. It also replaces my atlases and tanker ship in one ship so that is nice. (8k fuel and cargo storage, salvage gantry, survey equipment)
>Your fleet's crew quarters can accommodate an additional 21,840 personnel
God damn. *slaps roof* I could fit so many marines in this Anchor-class.
I did not process what the text meant about it having a forge to make fuel and supplies. I thought it was just lore, thing has 0 supplies or fuel costs. So while its slow, (6 by default) it really is a true flagship for an exploration fleet.
Boy its so cool how the indevo dev cries about people removing his shitty artillery... then can't code a mod worth a frick and have it actually save said settings.
Not anymore it doesn't Lunalib has its own config file, that overrides this. It also will say True in game even if you put false in both text files. Worked before. Hasn't on the "wisp" version or the last regular version. Yay.
>noah doesn't think about /vst/ at all, or maybe once or twice a year >vst talks about noah every day

This game doesn't know what it wants to be, no wonder everyone dumps vanilla for Nex instantly
maximum size is 10^6, its an order of magnitude, not the exact size. There are millions of peeps on the planet (pretty sure it even says that in the description)

Some people need shit like this, clicking download is too hard, Black personanon.
clicking download isn't hard. It's just time consuming and i work 8 hour shifts. When i get home - i want to press play and shoot the pirates, not spend next two hours testing my mod composition.
Make a huge sector but with very sparse constellations and high resource planets. Ramp up generation of rare shit and special systems to compensate, and start with mods that allow me to generate supplies by mining and producing on ships.
Then run a mining-salvage fleet. Idea is to force fleets to be self-sustainable with production and pivot the focus onto resource management and planning, with combat being more of a test of my economy than a goal. I will probably disable hyperspace storms because babysitting the fleet as it does a 10 minute voyage to the nearest system will be shit.
Probably will end up being very unfun.
>start with mods that allow me to generate supplies by mining
prv for ore into metals
supply crafting for metals and heavy machinery into supplies
throw in fuel siphoning to turn supplies into fuel
self sufficient kino
Want to more hardcore with proper supply chains. Forge production as a main way to create supplies, maybe i will throw in some other mods as a backup for early-game when i won't have 40 factory atlases.
kek was going to link the thread for SMOL for people in case they haven't used it before and saw this: >Tip Deleter (and browser)
>See which mod a tip came from, then remove it permanently!
>Once you delete a tip through SMOL, it will delete it from any future versions of that mod (as long as you run SMOL after adding that update, of course).
>There's currently no "stop deleting tip", so you'll have to go into `SMOL-data/SMOL_AppConfig.json` and remove it by hand. Sorry, I might add a way to do that via UI at some point.
What factions do you have installed? I never have this problem. If anything they form alliances and it basically turns into a stalemate other than expansion and those spots getting hit sometimes. They are always more interested in fricking with me than other factions.
You can take matters into your own hands. The Hegemony was completely taking over in my run and I started sniping its fleets and stations. Dead invasion fleets means no stolen planets, dead trade fleets means supply shortages on their worlds. It did wonders
Isn't there a setting in Lunalib thing you can tweak? Something about invasion points IIRC
Also you can use operatives to frick with faction relations to give people you like alliances and tear down alliances you don't like.
For me, it's always the Luddic Church that gets wiped to a single market while Tri-Tachyon becomes best buddies with whatever modded faction will give them the time of day. The Hegemony always becomes an unstoppable juggernaut despite everyone hating them.
I recently did my first Derelict start and fought to get a really nice world from them. League immediately allies with me and I become the biggest producer of half the shit in the game by accident. Went from everyone trying to kill me to everyone trying to ally with me very quickly once I started using the league to do my dirty work and then cleaned up with my own fleet.
I love this missile fleet >Locust spam everywhere >The only consistent form of finisher is the two remnant missile boat with Dragon fire torpedo >Missile meme Radiant to clean up big threat >Absolutely no crew loss >Salvage nearly recover deployment cost everytime
interesting, i love missiles too. my pegasus has antishield guns for hard points, 2 anti armor guns, some graviton beam and PD laser. missile slots get 2 cyclone reaper torpedoes in alternate firing mode (i have to wiggle to hit non captial ships)
with skills, 4 reaper torpedoes can pretty much delete most of enemy, even overloading their shields
My original idea was to spam the screen with as many projectile as possible, that's why there's all the Locust Rampart. Ideally Rampart would tank in the front with missile saturation while Pegasus would snipe from afar with Graviton/Squall/Hurricane and the Radiant would come in to remove hard hitting target. It isn't exactly the best fleet but it's efficient enough for vanilla. I can take up to 300k+ bounties and spawn camp ordo while reasonably regain all the supplies and fuel just by salvaging. If I want to take the Dorito I need to change fleet though
An update on the missile fleet. Dorito has a really bad matchup against missile it seems. Easiest Dorito kill I've seen yet but it is too niche. I also added that one AI Onslaught the Hegemony secretly built as point defense >All Heavy Machine gun >Devastator >Proximity charge
It works well enough
At the moment it doesn't actually work against phased ships! Yet.
What it has at the moment is a phase beam with no cooldown. On paper it looks good, but it's held back by the ships flux, safety overrides+max vents means it can fire indefinitely. But for that, you'd have to get close...
Try looking at the Xartix coil code from superweapons if you want to find out how to hit shit while in phase
and also how to hit things while phased yourself
Armored Core you mean? The original games? Probably the Aleste IIs because of how modular they are. The Valk pirate version is my favorite run around and sword things to death ship next to the Alta EX.
Yeah, Armored Core, honestly you could argue that the Aleste II has a bit of gen 4 in it because shields, would still need near infinite phase skimmers though.
Despite not trying to hide his maleness, Soren managed to be more of a c**t than not just any troony, but also all but the nastiest of women as well. The snippy, passive-aggressive shitbaggery that just radiated off him at all times was almost impressive.
All we have now is that furgay bug-eater commie Drgn. Though his shit might somehow be even worse.
thedragn, guy who did high tech crashpansion
he's still actually less autistic than some others though since he was capable of realising that playing aria doesnt actually cause you to kill billions
Yet he will still violently shit on the author for being "gross". Do not be so quick to forgive the transgressions of such individuals, especially not when being less autistic than Noah still easily leaves him as one of the biggest c**ts in the current community.
God i love this weapon... I know its probably not the best or anything but the sheer aesthetics of massive bullet storm brrrrrrting throught the vaccum towards enemy ships is pure sex.
>be dreaming about starsector >in my latest save >basicaly me with a couple gg planets vs hedge that took over everything >some omega remnant fleet is wrecking their colonies >basicaly they are about to destroy the hedgemonkeys >message daud that i can take care of the fleet IF he lets me frick his daughter for one night >he accepts (lol) >obliterate the fleet >get to frick some muttalo goblina >wake up
i woke up laughing my ass off and with a boner. I have NO idea why i had this dream, i barely have any mods other than nex installed
Hey RS dev if you are reading these lines can you add it to the game ? This shit was too funny, cucking the most powerful man in the sector (other than the player)
If you're using Nexerelin (and I know you are, cheater), push X, request fleet, colonization. 125k and you literally don't have to do anything. It even provides a free level 0 governor now.
Only the time does right now. Colony fleets should be for "oh I found a really good planet that I want to colonize before I forget because it'd be a pain to go get everything" not "this is objectively better than doing it myself in every way."
>request fleet
kek i have never used this even though i always use nex
one time i tried using the invasion mechanic where my fleets took so long to assemble that they never even reached the target
Outside of the TPCs (which have an insane flux efficiency so they always need to be shooting), you have less than 1000 flux per second available even if you grab everything that increases it. The Onslaught already has 1 large and 4 medium ballistic mounts that are forward facing, that's already difficult to utilize with a flux budget of 1000/s, let alone an additional 2 large and 4 medium mounts. You would have to toggle kinetic / HE / fragmentation weapons like an absolute maniac for that to be useful.
i love big humanoid warcaskets
glorified marine suits
big guns big guns big guns big guns big guns big guns big guns big guns big guns big guns big guns big guns pile bunker
>remnants decide to raid diable system with one market >go "help" them in hopes of getting some weapons and alpha cores >wait, fleets arrive >diable defence fleets consist of 4 maelstroms, lots of crusiers and destroyer spam >1 remnant fleet is 1 radiant, some crusiers and destroyers >battle begins >only able to deploy my flagship >2 maelstroms collectively decide to chase random frigates instead of focusing their attention on a radiant >frigates swarm the radiant and die one after another >most diable cruisers are killed by radiant + remnant destroyers EMP spam >70% of diable fleet is dead
They dont have any problems in autoresolve battles 🙂 And there is abother remnant fleet with a star shaped battleship coming in 🙂 What the frick.
You suck ass. All mechs are glorious in their own unique ways. Except for Diable because they keep nerfing those poor things into the ground slowly but surely.
To be fair the only reason Alestes are so shit is because their ship system turns them suicidal, they perform decently well with plasma jets.
Talking about Arma mechs though.. As far as strikecraft: Are spriggans supposed to be useless? They cost a lot but they sure do seem to be way worse than just going Ex's.
They're great if you combine them with other mechs/fighters to act as distraction, HE rifles + sabots are a dangerous combination.
>They're great if you combine them with other mechs/fighters to act as distraction, HE rifles + sabots are a dangerous combination.
So thats what I always thought but trying them out with a 4 slot carrier its just way more effective to use 4 exs than 2 spriggans and whatever.
I always use 1 wing of Spriggans on my Fenris carriers, the Valkens make sure that the enemy ship won't put it's shield down while the Spriggans deal enough kinetic damage to make it nearly overload.
Talking about Arma mechs though.. As far as strikecraft: Are spriggans supposed to be useless? They cost a lot but they sure do seem to be way worse than just going Ex's.
No its the 18 cost anti ship ones, its a set of 2 and they seem to perform ok once in awhile but they are kinda moronic and nowhere near as sturdy as way cheaper valk ex's at 11 and those have swords so they are obviously 2x cooler.
>mfw managed to capture a Buckbreaker Battlecruiser
Absolute core of my fleet now, it doesnt look that amazing for me but does wonders in AI hands while im zooming around in my destroyer.
For me, it's capturing and recruiting every IBB bounty I'm sent after, "cleaning up" the Sector by consolidating all of its most powerful rogue elements under my banner before waging indiscriminate war on the Core.
This. AI is just better than generic drew anime shipgirl portraits. Just because it was """handmade""" by some tryhard it doesn't mean the portrait is superior in any way to ones made by AI artists (which are only getting better).
Not sure what you mean, you've been able to go under special functions on another planet's market and invite them to your alliance if they're high enough relations for ages.
Imagine simping for troony waifus and coomer mods when you could form a loving relationship with mechs. You care for them and equip them with weapons of death, they kill everything. Its great.
What does that blackwatch chick give me? I don't have the Legio system enabled but she still will offer missions. Also how many missions does Sierra give?
>What does that blackwatch chick give me?
just normal missions like ever other contact, the only thing that makes her special is that she can sell you daemon cores/ships from time to time. >Also how many missions does Sierra give?
3 if you count the first mission where you rescue her. 4 if you also count the one you can get after you betray her and she goes insane.
You can give Sierra away to Tri-Tach, or to Kween if you have PAGSM. If you do, she'll appear as a special bounty with a capital version of her ship. She'll also be mindbroken and won't recognize you.
My fellow starsector bros, I want to ask about Sephira, how good is it? Does it justify the bloat of installing DME, Magellan, and whatever Sephira fork out there?
Why would anyone care if you use RS? Its the shitty mods that homosexuals use WITH RS that is embarrassing. You know this though and are trying to play pretend, noah.
RS is literally just a more effective version of recruiting captured officers and doesn't come with a built-in memory leak.
Yes, and? RS isn't the coomer troony mod. You know this though.
>Why would anyone care if you use RS?
Ask Noah, he threw a very public shitstorm when he became aware his self-insert could be violated. Then he tried to implement code to prevent it and mobilise the discord to add crash code.
Needless to say he failed, cried, and commissioned a new character portrait.
Noah isn't human, he doesn't count in "anyone" and you thinking he does is very curious, Noah.

>Noah isn't human
Hey, he is human. He may be useless and of no value but he still has a soul. It may be the sole of of heathen but that's besides the point.
All that man needs is to follow through with the psychiatric advice he was give and he might, might, become deserving of the most basic level of respect. Personally I wouldn't bet on it but the point still stands.

Nah, he's a soulless homosexual just like you. No respect for troons or their demon allies.
>Ok look I get it, you want to rape my PNG files. But if you're going to do that can we at least get some femdom/strap-on play in there? Maybe some bondage? Here I wrote this up ahead of time. *sends you over several PDFs with images showcasing how the scene should play out*
I just don't like the method of which RS prisoner system. Should've created its method instead of borrowing the one from Take No Prisoners.
Also, should be able to disable certain features in LunaLib or at least a config file. I don't wanna deal with stuff like custom colony industries and such.
NTA but to be fair it was supposed to just be a mememod quickly thrown together by the author. It has spiraled out of control partially due to coomers never shutting the frick up about it, especially on preddit and the discords.
I don't blame that anon if they get it to a certain point and just dump it as an open mod for someone else to take up.

also, agreed on the extraneous bullshit. I don't need your new marketplace items and whatnot, faction mods. >NOOO YOU HECKIN NEED MY CAKES OR WHATEVER THE FRICK
Fun part is they still show up on the market. 🙂
Poorly coded dogshit.
Oh. You're that anon who was b***hing about rs a few weeks ago. I'll take your bait. >they still show up on the market
That specific setting you're talking about? The one called Maximum Rope Count? Does exactly what it's supposed to. Set it to zero and there will be no rope. The weapon becomes a regular cannon.
Now the setting that you actually want is called Enable Harpoon Use. Disabling this completely removes the weapon from all markets and fleets. This setting was added twenty days ago, after your little rant.
The settings page is very extensive. Everything is up for the player to decide.
If you are still unsatisfied, you can get a refund for the amount you paid.
These motherfrickers will use every troony and/or coomer mod possible then tell you its "just to rape them" as they describe in detail the lore, what ships to use, how to use them, etc.
kek fair enough. I just find it funny how suddenly its ok to use the mods they cry about for hours and hours on end because "uh I rape them, so its ok" (I think those mods are shit too, to be clear)
Surprised someone hasn't made a parody faction of all the coomer and tranime mods specifically for RS. Collect all the waifus and whatnot and put them in one mod with lookalike ships.
Anonymous
That's because RS wasn't a thing before, so obviously up until that point coomers were OK playing with anime troonfu factions in the game. Now that sexual descriptions are a thing, they need a context to rape x character so they usually pretend to hate a mod they previously liked

Oh I know, that is why I like teasing anons about it. Cracks me up how defensive they get. There is one sperg that will outright accuse you of being one of several shadowy figures that is out to get him specifically and ruin his starsector day.
Use whatever you want obviously just don't do it behind some phony moralizing where you pretend as if you're virtuous for downloading troony mods because you're using them a certain way. >No no the programming socks are just a joke
Guys I gave the anchor capital from missing ships mod 2 more fighter bays and a tiny bit more points to work with because of its cost (200 to deploy)
Does that sound absurdly out of line? its only 6 bays.
Are anons this dense? All the settings for disabling industries & features are in the lunalib page. It's like they don't even bother checking.
Here's a link to the changelog. Check it yourself.
https://gitgud.io/rsdev/RapeSector/-/blob/master/changelog.txt?ref_type=heads
it's good that the game is getting another low-tech phase ship, it's also good that it looks durable. durable phase ships are way more interesting than the glass cannons.
I don't like phase ships. I like them in concept but not in use. The only one I actually use isn't a vanilla and isn't really a phase ship. Its the Valk P from ArmaA
>Skill issue
I don't think you know what this actually means based off your post >Uses the zig as a flagship unironically
kek ok you're just shitposting.
I'm planning to do a super modded challenge run where I'm only allowed to use the base game ships. How much of a hard time do you guys think I will have going against Tahlan, UAF, Iron Shell, Cabal, etc factions? Difficulty mods like Ruthless sector are included too.
Guess vanilla blueprints are a concern as they will be the hardest to find lol
>tfw if starsector came to steam we would have asian modding communities pumping out tons of content in the workshop instead of discordtroons and their paypiggies ruling over the forums
I always thought a game like Starsector would be more popular with eurasian modders, but I figure it must be hell to try to familiarize oneself with the forum's antics and grow in that environment as a foreigner content creator
No wonder they got assaulted by the luddites.
>big breasts
>long legs
>wide hips
>large butt
eventually they just have small heads
How come I see this kind of bawds in every OP of every Starsector thread?
Aren't they from a mod or something?
Where ever they are from, they draw my eyes every time and make me want to buy the game.
Graphic design is not my passion so any feedback is appreciated, barring the obvious unfinished / misaligned / overflowing UI elements.
it looks like it was designed by a linux WM dev. this is the lowest possible tier of UI.
>2 horny OPs in a row
Discordsisters.... it's over....
Don't really see the need to overhaul the UI but it looks pretty good.
why are you overhauling the ui of that shitmod in the first place?
>shitmod
Frick off, Alex.
>all that's left is including the ability to remove already built in S-mods
Any chance you could also add the ability to selectively remove d-mods at the same time?
NO, REPAIR YOUR SHIPS, homosexual
All fair complaints.
Alex is a major pussy for not putting the game on Steam
He claims that he doesn't want to until the game is ready but I'm willing to bet he just doesn't want to pay Steam their cut of purchases.
Do you really want to complicate the mod scene with steam drama? Nia Tahl is a drop in the bucket compared to that.
>Do you really want to complicate the mod scene with steam drama?
Yes
You're a major pussy for caring.
It would just break the monopoly on relying on the forums. I would expect hilarious drama on them trying to pull their shit on steam workshop though.
>wanting to deal with outright broken workshop shit
No thanks.
Example:
>Alex added slipstreams to make the space less empty/boring and allow for some faster travel
>whatever, plays fine, not an issue since I can just angle in and out of them or burn out, maybe two in five trips I actually get to use them to get to my destination, back to the actual game
>Alex then blogposts about fixing the slipstreams and acknowledges that people didn't really get to use them that often because they were going the wrong way like 60% of the time
>his solution: apparently I was having fun the wrong way, slipstreams were always meant to be obstacles even though earlier he said that wasn't the point, I have dumb baby brain since apparently I never perceived them to be an obstacle because of how easy it is to bypass them, so now he's going to make it overall harder to bypass them because of his really shitty fix to "the problem" of him making the slipstreams spawn as redundantly as possible
>now every slipstream has to be "useful" and I need to be penalized if I just want to go across them
Great game, but shut the frick up.
alex did not study the meme discipline game design, hth
Then why do his blog posts read like failed GDC talks?
because watching those are the closest thing to social interaction you get
Honestly, it doesn't.
*the parts where they don't talk about players as babies.
it's not that complicated, he wants to maintain interest in the game by signaling that he's doing things while not actually doing anything that takes any work or effort (hence 5 years of balance patches and 10 years of early access)
how the frick is this even starsector
It isn't.
You know what is Starsector? Mechs and Space Truckin'

Just port the old sprite over.
the slots changed too
So just use the old hull and variant files too.
Nah
just live with the fact that there are floating weapon slots that don't match up with the sprites
M8 you can easily fix that either by using the old .ship file or use tool like ship editor.

Any day now
Just get the mod that lets you make a custom system if your autism does not let you accept something imperfect. You can do whatever to limit yourself if you think its not balanced or legit you can also use the program that lets you scan the sector to see if there is anything good rng wise that got generated before you commit to the save.
Your mistake was deliberatly seeking good worlds to """colonize""" in a game with awful colonization and planetary development mechanics.

Sweet, sounds good. Thanks.
Perfect wasn't the standard. They were really quite bad. Thanks for the advice though, scanning like that would be another good way to do it.
don't colonize. Time sink and side track from you the real task of bringing judgement day to homeowner associations.
>Doesn't know how to get "good" systems
Penelope's star is based and gauranteed near core world is objectively best system for colonization barring modded in systems
i just type addcredits 99999999
Alternatively. My best run consisted of taking pirate and pather colonies to carve out an empire in the core. My first one is the pirate base in Mayasura. Ally with them and the Persean League and farm the frick out the heg when they constantly try to invade Mairaath. You can kick tri-tach out the system too and end up with two stations and the Mayasura Navy to protect you.
Use better mods
Speaking of Penelope's star, any modders lurking this thread? How difficult would it be to mod that system to remove the RNG and always give the best spawns? Rerolling is annoying if you want core colonies.
i forget the name of he mod but there is a mod that has a set planet near the core that is decent and configurable so you always have SOMETHING you can colonize.
https://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=24346.0 wait here it is.
It's doable but quirky enough to take the time most modders aren't willing to invest. For a bottle of booze perhaps -
trivial
>How difficult would it be to mod that system to remove the RNG and always give the best spawns?
Not too difficult, take a look at my KoC. I essentially did this when I added Randis to the Arcadia system. If you have no experience it will take you a little while to get your head around the code but it's shouldn't take more than a couple of hours (and a couple of crashes) to achieve.
Alternatively, use console commands and you can be done in 5 min.
no.
are the system names finally fricking fixed?
Fixed for the next release, pretty sure I've posted this multiple times.
Well you post nonstop about your homosexual mod so they should be able to complain about it nonstop.
You sound like you have a grudge against me, does my KoC trigger you in some form?
>are
Just spotted this, well played.
nta i want to play with your koc but the names trigger my autism so im waiting to play with your koc once again if you fricking release the new version
Noah spotted
>t. Noah
>go through autistic amount of your time to roll some rng dogshit
>cheat anyways using colony mods
>all of this instead of just taking the last step to cheat the money in directly without wasting your time
i can understand if some autistic monkey refuses to use any kind of mods but using mods to cheat the system in a way that still wastes a huge amount of your time is just insane
On top of this a lot of anons don't realize how easy it is to take a planet if it has a basic station on it.
I forget, has Alex removed the ability for habitable worlds to spawn in the core worlds yet? I remember hearing something about that.
S-mods were a terrible design decision and im tired of pretending they were not.
You were a terrible design decision, you're not even a mech.

You get these from a generator (link?) or actually come up with them?
Please say syke right now. You're just joking, right anon?
No joke, I'm considering them for one of my factions. The real question is which one would they most be at home with.
They're from one of the best episodes of MST3K - Space Mutiny.
>They're from one of the best episodes of MST3K
Consider me now educated, thanks.
Which name triggered you? It's ok, you can tell us. Was it your real name?
See modders blubbering about licenses that hold zero (0) legal value and thinking people will steal their freeware addons made out of derivative content.
you're overreacting to him just running an obfuscator over some shit he thought no one would ever need to interact with. if you need to access something in _obf just ask him, he's usually very helpful
the module thing is for ship with multiple section like battle station. edshipyard newfoundland and wurgandal for example.
For what porpoise?
Because the current interface annoyed me, and because I missed the feeling of programming something for fun.
if you ask alex how function X that you need for goal Y works he'll probably tell you
Who are these meant to be? This shit made me want to play again.
Probably some Mayasuran Navy shipgirl anthropomorphism. Artist is whoever does the shipgirls art for that mod.
The middle one is from PAGSM and is the captain leading that giant fleet orbiting around Volturn. The two others are personifications of Mayasuran ships from the Mayasura mod.
Oh that's supposed to be Ruka? Couldn't tell.
Pretty sure that's Victory (M) and Vishnu (M) from Mayasura
Ah yes, more smug faction leaders. Not 100% sure about the art style but I dig that beret.
>The red/blue light
So I guess everyone's copying CY's thing now?
I don't really care to be honest. It looks good. It also means that those portraits are easy on the eyes if you use Cy's stuff as well.
have you never looked at the standard portraits?
>CY's thing

I'd say it's just about ok? It is on the higher side though. If they removed one it would be pretty good.
Apparently she has an alternate expression. Is her portrait anywhere in higher quality?
isnt that just her vtumour model?
It's based on it. But no, the icon itself isn't the model.
Captcha ending with RS... Heh.
RS bait?
Why is the Sindrian Diktat not just part of the Persean League? What makes the Sindrians special? As far as I can tell it's presented as like a comically incompetent corporatist OPEC/North Korea expy
Ruled by megalomaniac dictator, possesses only antimatter fuel production facilities capable of meeting sector-wide demand. He has nothing to gain by joining up and they have too much to lose by fricking with him.
Why is Russia not just part of the EU?
>He has nothing to gain by joining up
Aren't they de facto in active conflict against the Hedge because he's a defector? His two markets aren't exactly good enough to stop an invasion, especially since it's implied the government is terrible and corrupt compared to the Hegemony
It might be like Tau in 40k. Taking the Diktat out would take enough resources to allow other factions to seriously threaten the heg
The threat of half the population of the Hegemony starving to death because there is no fuel to bring food in is what stops the invasion. The entire economy of the sector runs on Sindrian gas and the risk of being cut off for even a few months is enough to stop anyone making overt moves.
It's kind of hilarious when you realise that over 50% of sector's population is on one planet.
The population of the entire sector should be bumped up for the sake of realism.
I absolutely agree.
it's a joke faction, their gimmick is the special ships are actually worse than the normal variants
You forgot those snappy uniforms.
Ironically i enjoy the Gas Station manager mod. Makes me want to wage war on the galaxy so everyone has to buy their gas from me.
Purple man bad, Andrada is literally Hitler, why would you be friends with literally Hitler?
Why would it?
Andrada loves energy mount weapons
He'd sooner ally with TT than with PL
He's an ex-Hegemonkey
one of their best admirals even
He's allied with both of them. Diktat has +75 relations with the League and weapon and hull-mod descriptions show he's getting tech support from Tri-Tach.
>one of their best admirals even
I'm pretty sure they changed that lore since deciding that the Diktat needs to be moronic and incompetent. If not then it doesn't make sense that one of the best admirals presumably in the sector is designing dogshit ships that don't work
This isn't true. He can be an amazing battlefield commander and a charismatic leader but a bad ship designer.
I think of him as being something like Douglas MacArthur if MacArthur had made himself dictator for life of Japan after WW2.
>amazing battlefield commander and a charismatic leader but a bad ship designer.
>Dictatorships are good at keeping themselves in power, but not much else, and will mostly run as long as a real push (such as Andrada's death without a designated heir) doesn't come.
Ngl that would be a fun way to do Sindria.
>I'm pretty sure they changed that lore since deciding that the Diktat needs to be moronic and incompetent.
You can thank the discord for that one. Alex really needs to grow a spine and stop obeying them. At this stage it's almost certain they have dirt on him.
Which discord is he in?
>Diktat needs to be moronic and incompetent
Is it true that David or whoever it was wanted to spread the message about Diktat = Space Russia = Bad, thus making them moronic?
Space Russia is Hegemony though
but they ended up being space Mexico
How can that be? The Hegemony is ruled by a military junta and they're the 'good guy' faction of the game that never loses wars and beats fleets 100x more technologically advanced than them, surely it isn't some silly real world analogy politics
It's kind of irrelevant, iirc the sindrian story thing implies that Andrada himself is dead or something and his subordinates don't really know what to do or if to announce it
it implies something, but it's very loose on what it implies. lazy writing tbh
Nah he's still alive
Macario's just keeping his old ass on ice until they can clone him to make a new "heir" since all his b***hes keep birthing daughters instead of sons
They produce the majority of the fuel in the core worlds, making them have a lot of soft power.
one because any faction that makes them mad loses their fuel deals, and two because none other other major factions want them to be annexed by a rival because they'd be in a disadvantage
the diktat was formed by a huge portion of the hegemony's remaining fleet defecting, they're far from pushovers
They really ought to still have their old Hegemony ships. I'm not sure what mods it is that do it, but I know some mods give the Sindrians small amounts of Hegemony and even XIV ships to represent this.
>They really ought to still have their old Hegemony ships
that's all the eagles and falcons, they just got new paint
Onslaught(LG) when?
too slow to join the taskforce (too precious to entrust with young andrada)
Too slow? Give it some sindrian 'improvements'
>Onslaught gets the evil fascist workplace safety modifications
>Pulse cannons overheat and blow up the ship because they cant vent excess flux into some poor ratings face like the Domain intended anymore
so that's why there's no sindrian 'slaughts
Every day they write new Sindria lore is a day the entire setting becomes stupider thanks to their attempts to mock the mighty lion.
too slow to be sent to resolve the opis situation (too important to put under the authority of the dubiously loyal war hero andrada)
also remember that the persean league is kazeron + kazeron's b***hes, not an alliance of equals
it alludes to the delian league for a reason
How do I make the Executor good?
ordinance expertise basically doubles your flux, then you just melt stuff with autocannons and HIL
you look at the flux dissipation and reconsider your ship choice
i shall be the first person to say 'rape' in this thread
Sometimes when battles start the whole screen goes black with the exception of the cursor. All the ships are moving, I can hear fighting, shields weapons but all black. Running a 6700XT with 12gb vram so that shouldn't be an issue.
>black screen
>AMD card
>not an issue
kek & lmao
>using nvidia garbage any time in the last 15+ years
>not a moron
kek & lmao
Nvm fixed it, was the combat radar mod using a deprecated version of OpenGL that makes amd cards crack the shit.
Nia said you should not play MSM and mods from Corvus Discord.
Why?
Whatever the reason, he is right though. It's a low quality mod. Missing descriptions, awful balance, shitbashed ugly sprites
Funny enough thats the same reason to not use noah's mods or most of the coomer trash pushed nonstop in these threads. Its low quality garbage.
>Goes through all this effort for new ships and systems
>No basic spellchecker
>No proofreaders that actually speak English
>Half of the guns are worthless garbage with unparseably generic names while the other half are just reskins
>The faction has its weights set so that it's just automatically friendly with everyone but will also just pick one faction to bully and invade over and over, usually the LC
While you're not wrong, I am also guilty of being friendly with mostly everyone and then picking a faction to bully.
Yeah, but you're the player so you can do whatever you want.
Is it just me or are bounties extremely under-rewarded compared to exploration missions? The choice seems to be
>go to the outer reaches of the sector with an efficient, fast exploration fleet for 70-120k just to scan something with no real threat of attack, plus optional combat for additional reward in blueprints/cargo etc
or
>go to the outer reaches of the sector to fight 7 cruisers, a capital ship, and dozens of destroyers and freighters with a fleet that can take them on (costing approximately 10 bazillion in supplies and fuel) and make sure you have enough fuel and supplies to get back after you spent another 200 on recovering your ships from battle: worth about 150k
Just ignore bounties, the're all shit
a damaged tier 1 station is a pushover, if you're careful you can kill it with a lone destroyer
I plan to take them anyway for guranteed supplies and new ships. Yes I explore with my death balls around mid game.
Bounties are great if you want to take a chance at getting a unique ship. Like you take a hegemony bounty if they have an XIV battlegroup onslaught, or if a diable bounty is fielding a pandemonium.
Somebody playing with Tyrador Coalition bootleg from MEGA? When both Tyrador and GraphicsLib are enabled game crashes while pointing on a missing aurora_ca_material.png shader resource, am i missing something?
aurora_ca_material.png apparently.
Doesn't the new shit directly say he's in a medical facility? Also is that shit supposed to just "end" with no conclusion of any kind other than the old guy saying he'd call you again soon?
Prove it.
>Doesn't the new shit directly say he's in a medical facility
That's the head of operations, the woman in the big squadron you talk with is coma guy's second-in-command
Andrada is implied to be truly dead
Wait really? I thought they were talking about lord gas station the whole time. Fair enough, was weird how that "ended" I thought something was going to happen.
You can even say it to her face, IIRC you can ask her why she's serving directly under a vegetable
give me mod and playlist reccomendations for a "frick the sector, kill everyone" playthrough
Does the AI get infinite ammo on rockets? I see ships firing massive numbers of rockets like 3 minutes into battles, it's crazy
no cheating, you can do the same thing. between missile spec and missile racks most missiles last ages these days
>no cheating
The AI 100% cheats on all stats. Ammo count, missiles, abilities, recovery, regeneration, all of it. It is 1000x worse out of combat though.
wtf? no they don't, the only thing they cheat on is supplies and fuel, which is always "whatever is needed to keep going"
Yeah, they do, and understandably so for the most part. If the AI had to play by the same rules in combat they'd stand little chance.
No, it's just extremely stingy with using them. The AI usually only uses torpedos if its targets flux level is almost maxed, even if it has like 20 torpedos left and could just dump them to instantly overload the shields.
if I sell blueprints on open markets, do the factions get to use them like pirates do if you sell them to the starworks?
I don't think it actually changes anything when you give BPs to indy and other factions since they already have access to them technically.
they do not, you can see their equipment lists in the .faction
you can trivially confirm that you're a moron by just adding a simple logging script to an AI ship, but i suspect this is rather beyond you
>but i suspect this is rather beyond you
No one likes you, noah.
paranoid schizophrenic assumes everyone who calls him moronic is the same guy, chapter 9754
Thats nice, Noah.
Anyone know what the actual percentages are on distress calls? I think I've only ever had one that was an actual distress call.
it's a weighted random:
10 HELP
10 + 2*uses PIRATES
10 + 2*uses NOTHING
and the first two uses are guaranteed HELP, and uses time out / wear off after a year
FRICK i thought you meant calling for distress. posting anyway in case someone finds it useful
That is actually interesting though, thanks. I have luckily only had to use it on my end once.
I saw that but I thought it was referring to lord gas station being in a coma/being deathly sick.
I must be very unlucky then. I just avoid em now.
50% pirates, sometimes you flip a lot of heads in a row
>free delivery on demand
25% each pirate, pirate ambush, normal and derelict ship
is there any mod that adds new factions without adding new ships? I like new factions to fight without fricking up the existing balance
Seal-clubbing pirates with Medium Annihilator pods + Gravitons will never not be funny.
Two years playing I'm not even know how to trigger quest or get them, either modded or not, other than main story.
Well maybe you should start reading the descriptions of the mods you download, moron-kun.
Wut? Half the time they just hid it as muh secret.
that's what the base game does, most of the quests aren't signposted at all
ok hear me out
a luddic path IED ship
but it's rigged to launch out a frigate as an escape pod so the pather crew can escape and continue their jihad in an overdriven frigate after priming the IED and plotting its final movements into enemy lines
more opportunities to kill servants of moloch while not costing any more loyal pathers
in fact I think more capitals should have escape frigates so getting your ship blown up won't mean the end of your contributions to the fleet during a battle
Coward.
think of it this way
would you rather die to your own ship blowing up in a massive explosion
or would you rather die taking out even more infidels than you would if you just stayed in your IED ship thanks to having a backup ship you can get into right before your previous one blows up, so you can launch even more torpedoes and machine gun rounds at the unholy
How about a Prometheus converted into a carrier that can only launch suicide Drams.
Didn't the HMI guy make a ship that was litterally this in the same mod that has those spaghetti code IEDs?
Dram my precious.
tie me to the frigate and crash into their escape pods after their ship explodes
>Escape pod
Secondary IED for blowing up the enemy's escape pods. Use your brain, brother.
Without fail I make this ship without meaning to every playthrough, and without fail it shitstomps everything smaller than a capital.
Range issue
Yeah.
I am very ill at the moment and want to do a pirate run, what mods do i need/ do you recommend?
Where do I go to get those Chinese mods?
From chinkland of course
from discord still no approlight....
Search gitgud on arch.b4k.co (when it goes back up)
Not joking
fossic.org
On the story mission to get the Hamatsu, I can't seem to find the damn thing. The system only has one massive fleet of carriers with S Mods that I'm barely avoiding, do I need to beat it to get the hamatsu back?
It should be a salvage right near where you troony jump into alpha site.
>Star Wars mod added a Fanon Venator that is pretty much only known by a niche corner of Empire at War players
Fricking weird, but also kind of cool.
Sounds pretty typical for Star Wars
Quite neat. Not a huge fan of the Star wars lore/aesthetic sadly.
is there anywhere that has an administrator available for hire in vanilla? officers are everywhere but I can't find one of these for shit
Yes.
They're much rarer so them being randomly spawned is way more apparent. Check wealthier planets in the core as you're traveling.
It's very unlikely that noah posts in these threads. It's even more unlikely that every post schizos disagree with comes from him.
Yeah ok, noah.
>It's very unlikely that noah posts in these threads.
He used to, that's for sure. Made a fool of himself plenty of times. I'm unsure if he still posts but the dude mentions us enough.
The furgay author of Bultach posts here more often.
>Noah, Bultach, Stingeranon, KoCSucker, Tomatopaste, RSector, Buckbreaker
Which other modders openly frequent here?
HEY BULTACH FURRY. NERF YOUR BULLSHIT.
HEY BULTACH AUTHOR, IF YOU'RE HERE, LET ME BUILD THAT SUPER DREADNOUGHT THAT YOU USE FOR BASE DEFENSE. I WANT THOSE SHIPS PROTECTING MY BASES.
just make the blueprint yourself via console commands
its not that hard
Today I'll talk to the people in station and get quest from them
What mod?
This is unironically not very bad, I think it has to do with whatever Alex cooked up in the calculation that it counts your total cargo space and not the available cargo space.
that's actually interesting though - 1.3M isn't chump change. do multiple runs? buy a bunch of atlases? refit everything for max cargo?
You can't do multiple runs for those contracts, it has to be one delivery.
In theory you could buy storage and do multiple trips.
don't try to think, it doesn't suit you
>urgently need to be delivered
>130 days
Hey listen for a union contract that is lightspeed.
Actually valid argument kek.
>"You guys move that ore yet?"
>"We're on break"
>Install Better Captains
>Go down the Industry route
>Elite the anti-D-mod option
>Just spam enormous volumes of alpha striking frigates and destroyers at the enemy, uncaring if they explode, because they have a 95% recovery rate and an 80% chance to not even get D-mods when destroyed
Total Radiant Death
>only 95%
Pathetic
S-modded ships are 100% always recoverable
>Noah
He removed his self insert and there's 5 left more
I wish I could just use the faction's portraits. I'm weak to kemonomimi girls, which there are a strikingly large number of.
Please do.
I like the /vt/umor mod but I'm gonna have to perform some csv changes.
What changes are you making?
All the ballistic PD I've used feels piddly and balanced around being low flux.
you're gonna post your work right please
Provided it doesn't end up hilariously overpowered, I'll try to keep it funbalanced not OP. Then again the Buckbreaker mod exists so who cares.
Which mod?
San Batavia Republic. It has some nice sprites at least and is animu:
That mod is incredibly NATOpilled.
Downloading.
To rape them, right anon? Right?
Possibly! I didn't decide on my new playthrough yet. Makes me wonder... RS integration when?
Integration with what?
SBR
Need to fill out a form
Oh?
I like the effect. Do they track well enough to consistently clip frigates? It might be a good sidegrade to the Squall for that purpose.
I'm trying to figure out how to get the normal spread like annihilators have to work.
annihilators have barrel angle offsets, so they literally don't shoot straight
Yeah I saw something like that in the weapon file. I'll do that.
Try suggesting some of those to the dev herself. It seems that her team really smashed the balance hammer on the stuff in the mod to avoid the "anime mod OP" stereotype. Either on forums or her stream I suppose. She might be on one of the discords too.
Whiskey is a (Dutch) realismgay who plays ARMA with milsim groups and gets her vtuber drawn as a Tier one operator.
>with milsim groups and gets her vtuber drawn as a Tier one operator.
You just know
That she's a failed human being who couldn't get attention from boys irl because she's probably not very attractive or socially aware, so she turned to the internet for direct injections of beta orbiter attention directly into her veins?
I've meant she fricks sandBlack folk, but that autismoanalysis is cool too
I'm pretty sure she's dating a bogan streamer, but Aussies are the sandBlack folk of the Anglo world, so that tracks.
She isn't dating him. This was confirmed several times. Not to mention she is probably pissed off at him after the last time he behaved like a moron on stream.
who is he and what did he do
what state is she in ill do a bride kidnapping on her
From what her community says she moved from the Netherlands to Eastern Europe because of gun laws. As for him... Being generally annoying, cracking stupid joke and being self centered with sex pest tier jokes.
I doubt she would have trouble. It's probably more like she isn't interested in a proper relationship. Kinda common for women in the military.
>her
Whiskey is a genuine female. She was just born with the unfortunate disability of being both Dutch AND a woman.
She is exmil female autist, yes.
And in this case it is actually confirmed.
>herself
no
It's quite comical but... She's actually a woman. A biological one at that. It is a surprise, but it is true and confirmed. Can't quite fake it that much.
>autistic woman
We are in danger.
I really do not give a shit what she does besides making a mod.
Unlike Nia, she listens to her mod user. She checks out this thread, so be nice to Whiskey.
>she listens
and yet she's not married to me
curious
It's not hard to be a better modder than Noah though. All it takes is not holding both your users and peers in active contempt, or at least not having comical public meltdowns when your terrible design concepts and shitty behavior get called out.
>All it takes is not holding both your users and peers in active contempt
Why is Noah always perma angry to the players? Why even make a mod to shit on your users?
No need for fake approval. She is honestly big enough of a navy autist to appreciate honest criticism. Seems she moved sway from the open decks in her recent designs too.
Actually nice seeing a chill modder that improves.
frick that moronic troony.
Even Noah could be worse. He could be a furry.
He probably is one.
Since homosexual is a troon then him being furry is more than likely
She anon? Thats a troon lad, dont fall for it else your gay.
[simping intensifies]
Does the mod have any unique officers to waifu or do you have to snag some random?
>didn't check her profile
Well that's 1 "story point" to be spent "mentoring" her to be more confident.
Train her, make her your top breeding officer.
There will be from what she said. So far the only partially implemented one is on the moon next to the capital and the unique fleet around it. There is also the civilian head of gov on the main planet.
I might have missed some though.
>faction based around using their own shit
>hybrid mounts
>not a single energy weapon
???
They got one energy weapons. Probably got more planned.
Whiskey the queen of Starsector /vst/ how can Noah even compete
She wins all across the noard default. Noah isn't a real woman and is toxic to his playerbase.
Does a vtuber making a starsector mod make you seethe? Even more do because her mod is, for a newly released one, quite good?
Its not no matter how many times you trannies try to pretend otherwise.
I feel sorry and sick for replying to vtumor bait, i've learned my mistakes. This thread is contaminated
There's only one solution, brother.
You have to get inside the Dram.
Protect your sacred virginity, brother.
Ludd's light, brothers, these people dress as catgirls but they act like dogs.
I prefer doggirls, myself. Wolfgirls work, too.
at least those b***hes are loyal.
I know it comes off like a furry mod but VIC is pretty cool. Anyone else use it? I like the virus bombardments.
Wha? VIC is a furry mod?
transhumanist, so people get elf ears and fox ears etc and some of their portraits represent that. The guy who makes it may be a furry I haven't looked into it but it doesn't come off like a furry mod. Junkyard Dogs which I like is the one that makes me go ??? sometimes with its ship names.
Always has been
everyone uses vic
Anyone have a build for the Adventurer from BigBeans ship pack? I want to use it as a flag ship for my Roider/ mining exploration playthrough. I'm not really sure what to do with it. Maybe converted hanger and a shit load of missles like MIRVs? Pic related
Looks like a ripoff of the Neutrino Adventure
The neutrino adventure was a venture bash so bad that he commented it out in the csv. This one looks like a new ship.
Here's what I ended up with. It can solo onslaughts without much trouble. It's only costing 28 DP but I'm tempted to farm up some D mods since I'm running derelict operations. I kind of want to run a bunch of them in place of cruiser lol
I'll probably drop the auxiliary thrusters and some vents for expanded missile racks as well
soloing a sim onslaught is not a significant achievement
For a capital that can't immediately scoot-and-shoot the onslaught in the ass like a hyperion I'd say it's a good benchmark.
>It can solo onslaughts
>modded ship
>modded weapons
>vanilla sim onslaught
Grats.
why can’t an actually good vtuber like annoying orange make a mod
What does your deathblob fleet composition look like?
five executors
Mules.
1 Eagle with safety overrides and manuevering jets and 1 HMI Locomotive. I pilot the Eagle and spin in circles behind the Locomotive while it kills everything
2 or 3 Atlas Mk II capitals and some chaff in front of them to absorb damage, hegemony spec Eagles or something are good
>Atlas Mk II
Are these actually worth a frick? They always seem to die instantly when the enemy fields them.
cheap way to field two large missiles with some gauss/mk9 backup, absolute garbage is you let something get close
they're bad ships, but not as bad as they look from fighting the pirates
I can respect that, I have used kites for their cost/output before so I get it
>Kites with fighters blotting out the sky
Keep them in the backline with some heavy needlers or something and the ship system will tear everything apart, however they are extremely slow and fragile so without support they're completely useless
I always use regular atlasi for transport and never saw the mk2s as worth a frick hence the question. I really like the look of the default Atlas. always wanted to make a bit bigger one as a capital with fighter bays and salvage shit as a flagship.
It actually makes a great early game flagship if you have a solid core of meatshield ships, definitely worth considering. lategame, it's extremely supply efficient for totally raping stations and more expensive capital ships while your cruisers keep them occupied
>heavy needlers
>on a ship with accelerated ammo feeder
are you moronic
I've had a lot of success with mudskipper mk2 meme swarms since they have a large ballistic slot (shame it's not a missile slot but oh well)
mulegang rise up
Yeah, and they're capitals so they get crazy range from a targeting core.
Me in my Morpheus

They're just disgustingly efficient and safe and will (eventually) CR stall anything to death unless the enemy has a spammable way to get close.
eradicators and vanguards
Roider carriers, HMI garbage, and a billion shepherds with derelict operations. It can frick up Legio fleets and my graphics card at the same time.
20 Nakiha(SP)
50 Valkens and cataphracts and other robots, with 3 Arma fleet ships for fast refueling, a Pandemonium for Wanzer support, all led by my personal flagship, the Experimental Cataphract and my reserve ship, the Altagrave EX. Nothing in this universe stands up to my mecha might.
>and other robots
have a nice day
I apologize I'm just very mechsensitive. I don't like them being called "robots"
Thats the pirate valk.
To add: The sleeper start is one of my favorites. You start with that and a crew ship, thats it. And everyone fricking hates you.
Only tri-tech hates you which isn't a bad thing
Last time I did it I had max hostility with everyone. Its only supposed to be trititty?
Well maybe Persean Black folk too but Tri-cucks are the one who hates you from the get go
Weird. I was -100 even with other modded factions. Maybe something borked then. I honestly liked it and did it multiple times like that. Made friends with pirates and pathers and gave the pirates mech blueprints when I found extras.
You just need to know your shmups anon
Thinking about it the atlas mk2 would probably pair well with some small carriers w/ aa mechs or just arma mechs themselves as support.
>pay 50k credits to foundation of borken for them to magic supplies and fuel to me
>don't get them
>assume that they'll give them to me another way and continue traveling without buying fuel
>run out of fuel
>now stuck in a system without fuel
>wait a month and still haven't gotten anything
Never should've paid these space israelites.
Better put that distress signal on.
Never thought I would use that ability, but I did and found out that factions that don't like you will send a comms request just to laugh at you and then leave. Very funny.
hahahaha I didn't know that was a thing thats fricking hilarious
I only knew it takes like a month to get someone to show up.
RapedSector anon when are you going to add an event when players put their distress call on?
Is someone actually making a RapedSector?
I just like some of the frigates. Also some like the brawler and monitor are downright busted.
fair enough, I think some of them are pretty cool as well so I was wondering how to justify fielding them
I think if the game had more burn level variety in ships they would be a lot more interesting, since right now it's totally trivial to get fleets with anything up to and including cruisers to burn 10, then capital ship fleets are only a tug (ironically the one frigate I've found a real use for) away.
And this is why you abuse the AI by giving it mechs with swords.
destroyers are the actual bait not frigates
frigates are fast enough to run while destroyers just eat shit because they cant run away from real fire power fast enough
they're fast. they're cheap too. money isn't so important but supplies and DP are. and they're very disposable.
having a handful is good for capturing points fast at the start of a fight where you're at your DP cap to get more DP. then you can either retreat them to make room for another cruiser, or have them flank, or even have them suicide into the enemy to make room for another cruiser, because they're so cheap and disposable.
they're also ideal for pursuing defeated fleets, this can be more useful than you would maybe think.
when you're exploring, they're the cheapest way to deal with easy domain fleets.
Phase AI was pretty good before the nerfs.
I just now realized that there are Alpha Centauri portraits. I guess it’s time to join the Luddites in dissenting then.
We must dissent
Do you dissent?
Do you guys use derelict empire start ever? I've never tried it as I've never wanted to deal with random core worlds.
It can be fun with mods that expand the derelicts, but vanilla it is basically "hello I would like to face infinite Guardian deathstacks".
Bros, how do I rape faster in rs...
f2
change rape/handholding cooldowns to whatever you want
maybe 1 day at most for both to kinda sync them with Nexelerin mining cycles which are 1 day
the hostile fleets that are sometimes spawned when mining are great sources of extra rapeable prisoners to enslave to supplement any funds you get from selling mined resources
NTA, but do I really have to personally rape the officers to break them? I mean, I know this is how it works in the mod, but I hope RSdev can add maybe an option of throwing them to my crew instead, a man's gotta rest his dick too once in a while.
Weakling
i asked a while ago to allow designating certain officers for auto-raping that would be raped and broken over time without the player having to manually open the prisoner interaction window every <interval> just to perform one rape
with the intent being that it’d allow you to rape prisoners you don’t care about recruiting or keeping for yourself
You should just be able to interact with the building through the colony menu like Nex's academy and dump your prisoners you don't want.
>ugh i don't wanna rape 100 women after every battle i'm too TIRED
pathetic. what would genghis khan think of you
Genghis has no time to think, only rape
Inefficient. You've gotta rape the captured officers from the last battle while engaging in the current battle.
>Talking to an enemy ship on the video feed before a battle
>You make threats to kill them as you are seen raping an officer.
There's nothing more satisfying that blowing up an Hel Scaith
Bretty fun
>Is Iron Shell a good mod?
it has my shipfu skysplitter so its good
Whiskey's mod already has OC.
Almost like its troony shit made by trannies or something, weird.
>if i keep saying it, it will be true eventually!
Sadly that will never work for you Noah. No one outside of discord uses your mod for its intended purpose.
Who the frick is Noah?
>t. Noah
lurker here but genuinely who tf is noah
You.
Again, funny but she is actually a female. A biological one too. Also it seems like Cy is just giving her advice.
>no no really if I keep saying it it will be true!
Her dev team consists of CY and the guy who makes PAGSM. This is hardly surprising.
His*
Keep dreaming troony. Real women exist.
Anon remember all vtubers are troons or straight up males. Dont be fooled or you gonna be gay.
are you Black folk just obsessed with troons? it's quite hilarious consistently seeing this shit for the past 8 months as a lurker. ain't no fricking way the so called "trannies" have occupied a significant part of your grey matter, it shouldn't be even like that in the first place since you're supposed to deem them as lower than bugmen, beneath anybody's notice. This is probably part of why you lobotomites were booted out of /vg/ and went to be rapefugees in /vst/. Oh and by the way, who even the frick is this Noah homosexual.
Yeah, ok Noah.
For example this self-gayging moron. Just stirs up trouble all the fricking time thinking those arguments are peak performance - and clearly prove everything.
Yeah, ok Noah
There is two of you morons. Splendid.
Sure, ok Noah.
Ok Noah.
Nice try, Noah.
Sure thing, Noah.
Oh my fricking god Noah. We all know that walls constantly misgender you on account of your schizophrenia but why you try to cope with it here on /vst/ out of all places? Why not go to idk random or /lgbt/?
Very obvious noahpost. Positively glowing.
You should 41, discordBlack person
Stop posting about yourself Noah
Yeah, ok Noah.
It's just a bunch of idiots, possibly kids which got attracted to Starsector through Sseth's video that are insecure in their own masculinity and just use it as an universal insult. And they commonly hate on anything related to anime for sake of hating it. That's about it. Kinda pathetic.
Yeah, ok Noah.
>Two major modders jumped in to get a Vtubers mod off the ground in record time.
You think Whiskey paid them or they're both just massive simps?
Trannies run in packs.
A pack of trannies is called a troon.
Explains what you are doing here.
You'd like that wouldn't you, Noah?
It's only WMG. Cy just gave them advice
>Cy just gave them advice
the vtumour literally uses UAF ships with minor changes in the mod
She literally doesn't
Get your eyes checked moron. I checked it and the sprites for the combat ships are all custom.
you can cope that this is not a lillaru reskin all you want
Similar shape? Sure. By that logic most of the mods we got are reskins. Design language is completely different.
That legit looks fricking awful.
Why do people make this shit that doesn't remotely fit the rest of the game?
The newer sprites look better.
>this shit that doesn't remotely match anything else in the game and has even worse not matching portraits is better
kek you're so moronic I can't even call you noah.
Every single fricking ship in the game is just a Kite of varying sizes
The best part about the ships is they all have frontal shields and get shit on by everything if they ever turn.
Is AoTD finally good, or is it still shit cryosleeper mod only. Heard it had a rework or something.
Yeah.
Yeah to "shit" or yeah to "good"?
Yeah.
Nia is seething because an actual female is modding the game.
This is the most fun I had reading this forum in weeks. Pass me the popcorn.
What's happening?
I have tried to watch youtubers and streamers playing starsector and I end up ragequitting because of the fricking luck these homosexuals have. Constant research stations, ships just laying out in waiting, its crazy.
>lucklet
I never though I had bad luck until I watch a guy hitting up random systems getting back to back research stations, a legion, a paragon, easy fight redacteds, etc. Shit looked almost faked.
Just found back to back hyperions. Maybe Starsector heard me.
when 0.96 dropped i did my vanilla playthrough and got this shit within 5 minutes of eachother
the vanilla map is just so small with so few systems that all of them have some good stuff in them
Jeebus.
literally every rarr starsector stream
Yes this was actually who I was referring to originally kek
Why are you jelly that I'm jelly?
Watch Project Zomboid streams sometimes.. these people are hacking the game i swear, one day and they have working car, weapon, armour, back pack etc while im here sometimes going like 2 weeks without finding anything even remotely good.
Why are you so jelly in single player game about a time sink mechanic, mostly outside of your control anyway?
Starsector
none of you homosexuals noah how to get any b***hes
Its pretty annoying that enemies can SATURATION BOMB your colonies and not take a hit to reputation with everyone else but heaven forbid if you do it.
That double standard is obnoxious.
I get why, just like why when you're attacked in space and win you lose rep with...your attackers. Doesn't make it make any sense though.
I feel like self defense in your own systems shouldn't cause rep loss. But oh well...
This is why anon you try to decivilize their worlds. All you need is attack fleet with tons of marines and you are set.
Noah Kiggers
Nia Higgers
Starsector thread? More like Noah thread.
I have a confession to make.
I love Noah.
How could you?

I have a confession to make.

I have a confession to make.

Ludd is a Black person
What is a sierra?
The only actually good AI in the game.

That's it.
You're going onto my rape list.
I hate Sierra because she's a spawn of moloch
Very good anon, remember to always say no to Soulless sentience.
I love Falcon.
That is all.
Hey guys, Noah here. Give me 1 (one) good argument against Tahlan Shipworks except for the crash / nerf code debacle. Spoiler: you can't.
How about the code that deliberately nerfs (your) ships if they're in the players fleet?
>except for the crash / nerf code debacle
What of it
>except for the crash / nerf code debacle
Legio
pirates get legio ships and they shouldn't,
blackwatch subfaction does nothing
every ship getting unstable injectors for free with no downsides is bad
Does anyone know if there's any actual bonus to having good relations with independents, Pathers or pirates?
Don't know about the other two, but max rep with indies gives you full access to their military ship- and weapons sales without a commission (since they offer none to begin with).
What ship do they have?
Yes.
You know guys, I'm not even feeling like talking about mechs today. Apologies.
Talking about the Anchor-class earlier
I did not process what the text meant about it having a forge to make fuel and supplies. I thought it was just lore, thing has 0 supplies or fuel costs. So while its slow, (6 by default) it really is a true flagship for an exploration fleet.
>Your fleet's crew quarters can accommodate an additional 21,840 personnel
God damn. *slaps roof* I could fit so many marines in this Anchor-class.
This system is nuts. The tundra world has mirrors and there's an inactive gate
more like rimjob
Boy its so cool how the indevo dev cries about people removing his shitty artillery... then can't code a mod worth a frick and have it actually save said settings.
I warned you about indev, bro!
Nah, you didn't. Lunalib for all its boons really seems to not like properly saving settings to text files.
But muh pets! Muh hecking peterinos, you having weak bonerinos!
it works perfectly if you edit the text file yourself lunalib just fails to save edits for some reason
Not anymore it doesn't Lunalib has its own config file, that overrides this. It also will say True in game even if you put false in both text files. Worked before. Hasn't on the "wisp" version or the last regular version. Yay.
>noah doesn't think about /vst/ at all, or maybe once or twice a year

>you're not allowed to invade existing colonies because of our heckin epic narrative story that consists of about 5 missions of genre fic reddit schlock writing complete with corporatist blimpf nazi metaphor (somehow it took 12 years to get this far)
>but you can settle colonies that grow to having tens of millions of people in one year (a large proportion of the population in the entire sector)
This game doesn't know what it wants to be, no wonder everyone dumps vanilla for Nex instantly
How can you have tens of millions of people on one planet when the maximum size is 6, translating to 1 million people?
maximum size is 10^6, its an order of magnitude, not the exact size. There are millions of peeps on the planet (pretty sure it even says that in the description)
>want to start a new run

i think you should diversify your hobbies a little, it's not the only one there is.
My last playthrough was before beta was released, i should go try that i suppose.
You do use SMOL right? It trivializes a lot of that.
>using some dogshit modmanager which connects to shitcord and whatever else automatically
we all know that you use your own shitcord account to download latest versions of furgay portraitpacks
Discord? What the frick are you talking about? It just uses the versionchecker like starsector does. It also automates shit a lot of anons like that one above have issues with like installing JRE8 or setting ram limits and so on.
Some people need shit like this, clicking download is too hard, Black personanon.
clicking download isn't hard. It's just time consuming and i work 8 hour shifts. When i get home - i want to press play and shoot the pirates, not spend next two hours testing my mod composition.
I was mocking that homosexual moron. Well done on proving you are part of the same tribe kek
What tribe, are you delusional? Tribe of working class?
>downloads discord only mods and updates them for you
You use a lot of discord mods, eh troony?
What's the gimmick idea?
Make a huge sector but with very sparse constellations and high resource planets. Ramp up generation of rare shit and special systems to compensate, and start with mods that allow me to generate supplies by mining and producing on ships.
Then run a mining-salvage fleet. Idea is to force fleets to be self-sustainable with production and pivot the focus onto resource management and planning, with combat being more of a test of my economy than a goal. I will probably disable hyperspace storms because babysitting the fleet as it does a 10 minute voyage to the nearest system will be shit.
Probably will end up being very unfun.
Just use stormgod when you load.
>start with mods that allow me to generate supplies by mining
prv for ore into metals
supply crafting for metals and heavy machinery into supplies
throw in fuel siphoning to turn supplies into fuel
self sufficient kino
I stopped using PRV because of the extraneous bullshit it adds. Also the ship color scheme is awful.
Want to more hardcore with proper supply chains. Forge production as a main way to create supplies, maybe i will throw in some other mods as a backup for early-game when i won't have 40 factory atlases.
Sector looks good for now.
>Forge production
I really like this mod even for salvage/mining fleets. Gives you something to compress the ore.
Seems like i overtuned rare drop rates a bit.
Cleaned a single constellation and got around 700k worth of rare artifacts and salvage.
Better than finding absolutely nothing I guess? Usually I am a lucklet myself kek
add one extra zero to the chance number
kek was going to link the thread for SMOL for people in case they haven't used it before and saw this:
>Tip Deleter (and browser)
>See which mod a tip came from, then remove it permanently!
>Once you delete a tip through SMOL, it will delete it from any future versions of that mod (as long as you run SMOL after adding that update, of course).
>There's currently no "stop deleting tip", so you'll have to go into `SMOL-data/SMOL_AppConfig.json` and remove it by hand. Sorry, I might add a way to do that via UI at some point.
>Find it in the new Toolbox icon at the top!

Is there a Battlestar Galactica mod somewhere?
There is a portrait pack. I have used the Imperium's big boat as a galatica before.
>its another "everyone gangs up on tri-tachyon and leaves them with a single market in nexerelin" episode
How do i tweak invasion frequency?
What factions do you have installed? I never have this problem. If anything they form alliances and it basically turns into a stalemate other than expansion and those spots getting hit sometimes. They are always more interested in fricking with me than other factions.
Tyrador, KoC and Rust Belt are beating the shit out of them right now, already lost two markets by year 1. Im getting commisioned by Diable.
Ah so its a quality issue.
>Rust Belt
>the guys who get ultraraped in every single one of my playthoughs
Wew
They're a piratey faction but they don't get the default protection from invasions that pirates get.
By not playing with nex.
I love this missile fleet
>Locust spam everywhere
>The only consistent form of finisher is the two remnant missile boat with Dragon fire torpedo
>Missile meme Radiant to clean up big threat
>Absolutely no crew loss
>Salvage nearly recover deployment cost everytime
interesting, i love missiles too. my pegasus has antishield guns for hard points, 2 anti armor guns, some graviton beam and PD laser. missile slots get 2 cyclone reaper torpedoes in alternate firing mode (i have to wiggle to hit non captial ships)
with skills, 4 reaper torpedoes can pretty much delete most of enemy, even overloading their shields
If I want to take the Dorito I need to change fleet though
>cargo ships before combat ships in fleet menu arrangement
lame
Those are clearly combat ships, anon.
pather pls
Praise Ludd, I will smite these hoes.
An update on the missile fleet. Dorito has a really bad matchup against missile it seems. Easiest Dorito kill I've seen yet but it is too niche. I also added that one AI Onslaught the Hegemony secretly built as point defense
>All Heavy Machine gun
>Devastator
>Proximity charge
It works well enough
>PD onslaught
can't tell if based or autistic
Yes.
Just had the idea for a hiver rapesector run, what should I call my character and his faction?
What builds should I do for my ships?
mooncricket jones and the slaphappy bunch
nothing but brawler (P)s
Say hello to the sectors tainted glass cannon...
Dunno if 15 DP for a glass cannon that's only really effective against phase ships is appropriate but it looks pretty cool.
At the moment it doesn't actually work against phased ships! Yet.
What it has at the moment is a phase beam with no cooldown. On paper it looks good, but it's held back by the ships flux, safety overrides+max vents means it can fire indefinitely. But for that, you'd have to get close...
>At the moment it doesn't actually work against phased ships! Yet.
Cringe.
the codex uses the turret sprite, so you can draw a decent looking sprite for the codex and still have the hardpoint be ship-specific
>he actually included my seppuku shitpost
based
Which mod?
WIP
Try looking at the Xartix coil code from superweapons if you want to find out how to hit shit while in phase
and also how to hit things while phased yourself
>Xartix coil
Love putting it on Sierra's ships, it's absolutely devastating.
Merry Christmas from my fleet of mechs and a hold full of scavenged ships and supplies for everyone!
which mech comes the closest to an AC?
Armored Core you mean? The original games? Probably the Aleste IIs because of how modular they are. The Valk pirate version is my favorite run around and sword things to death ship next to the Alta EX.
Yeah, Armored Core, honestly you could argue that the Aleste II has a bit of gen 4 in it because shields, would still need near infinite phase skimmers though.
I just meant what the game was originally designed as.
How many valks are there? I only know of the sleeper one
Regular Valk, Sleeper, Command?
Ahem, FRICK BLADE BREAKERS and whatever troony put them into his mod.
Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk.
You know I'm the first to shit on troony and coomer mods but how about you dial it back a bit there chudster.
Shut the frick up, homosexual.
kek
Speak the frick up, homosexual.
for the record soren is a histronic israeli communist, but not transsexual
Despite not trying to hide his maleness, Soren managed to be more of a c**t than not just any troony, but also all but the nastiest of women as well. The snippy, passive-aggressive shitbaggery that just radiated off him at all times was almost impressive.
All we have now is that furgay bug-eater commie Drgn. Though his shit might somehow be even worse.
Drgn?
thedragn, guy who did high tech crashpansion
he's still actually less autistic than some others though since he was capable of realising that playing aria doesnt actually cause you to kill billions
Yet he will still violently shit on the author for being "gross". Do not be so quick to forgive the transgressions of such individuals, especially not when being less autistic than Noah still easily leaves him as one of the biggest c**ts in the current community.
There is only one solution to the furry menace... So far every mod which furries made seems garbage.
Did you know that mechs hate trannies?
nice try but i know about the transformers
More like Megatran
Everyone hates trannies, even other trannies.
True.
How do I build my wife in secrets of the frontier? Seems like all burst or bust. Just beat that first quest, what a pain in the ass.
Post current build
The Tempo autofit variant is pretty solid.
God i love this weapon... I know its probably not the best or anything but the sheer aesthetics of massive bullet storm brrrrrrting throught the vaccum towards enemy ships is pure sex.
The Mobile Fortress cannons from DIable I forget which ones they are are fantastic.
Uhlan Siege Lasers??
This may be it, been a minute since there hasn't been an official update to Diable.
Yeah its cool too but i just love the fast firing weapons that put lot of lead in the air. Helps me compensate for my shit accuracy.
Thats fair, I usually put that type of weapon on auto and then leave the sniping deathkills/finisher missiles to myself.
So i had this weird dream last night ...
>be dreaming about starsector
>in my latest save
>basicaly me with a couple gg planets vs hedge that took over everything
>some omega remnant fleet is wrecking their colonies
>basicaly they are about to destroy the hedgemonkeys
>message daud that i can take care of the fleet IF he lets me frick his daughter for one night
>he accepts (lol)
>obliterate the fleet
>get to frick some muttalo goblina
>wake up
i woke up laughing my ass off and with a boner. I have NO idea why i had this dream, i barely have any mods other than nex installed
Hey RS dev if you are reading these lines can you add it to the game ? This shit was too funny, cucking the most powerful man in the sector (other than the player)
nah
Mister Rapelectric, make every save this homie starts result immediately in him taking an entire Atlas MkII up the rectum
>talking about your cuck fetish publicly
im not into cucking or anything at all

>fricking someone's daughter is clucking them
Just Ganker things.
>every playthrough i keep finding artifacts that cant help the planet i colonzied
Reeeee
kek this is the only good loot I usually find. Stuff I have no use for.
protip: find loot first, choose planet second
Just colonize more, brainlet.
>MUH MUH COLONIZING HARD
If you're using Nexerelin (and I know you are, cheater), push X, request fleet, colonization. 125k and you literally don't have to do anything. It even provides a free level 0 governor now.
Nex should really just x5 the fleet request costs honestly
Only the time does right now. Colony fleets should be for "oh I found a really good planet that I want to colonize before I forget because it'd be a pain to go get everything" not "this is objectively better than doing it myself in every way."
>request fleet
kek i have never used this even though i always use nex
one time i tried using the invasion mechanic where my fleets took so long to assemble that they never even reached the target
>the Hedge secretly uses AI
>Tri-Tach openly uses AI
What was even the point of the AI war?
>planet income suddenly skyrockets to 100k
Im okay with it...
what the hell is that portrait
Whats wrong with it?
Looks like ThirstSector.
https://www.nexusmods.com/starsector/mods/83
Someone merely ran the vanilla portraits (and some of other mods) through an AI with a realistic model to give them that appearance.
Damn that looks nice

Serious question, how do you actually build an Onslaught? Is it supposed to just be a brick with two TPCs on it?
Rockets, lots of rockets, also long range shoot you in the face stuff. Armor.
Mining Lasers, Mining Blasters, Hammers and Shield shunt.
pretty much yeah, alex has buffed the TPC so much that the rest of the weapons are fairly marginal
Convince me not to increase the Onslaught's turret arcs so it can fire straight forward (you can't.)
its not flat
Fine.
>changes ballistic mounts to composite
Oops.
Make them all 360.

>2 maelstroms collectively decide to chase random frigates instead of focusing their attention on a radiant
>frigates swarm the radiant and die one after another
>most diable cruisers are killed by radiant + remnant destroyers EMP spam

They dont have any problems in autoresolve battles 🙂 And there is abother remnant fleet with a star shaped battleship coming in 🙂 What the frick.
>you don't need to use manual orders!!!
>meanwhile the AI shits itself 50% of battles by chasing frigates
I couldnt even give them orders because they were "allied" yellow fleets 🙂 so much fun
Alestes suck ass
>hurr durr just let me abandon my allies and fly directly into this Hammerhead i'll frick it up 1v1
VX Custom > Aleste
You suck ass. All mechs are glorious in their own unique ways. Except for Diable because they keep nerfing those poor things into the ground slowly but surely.
To be fair the only reason Alestes are so shit is because their ship system turns them suicidal, they perform decently well with plasma jets.
Is the Spriggan the one that has literally 1 hull armor?
No its the 18 cost anti ship ones, its a set of 2 and they seem to perform ok once in awhile but they are kinda moronic and nowhere near as sturdy as way cheaper valk ex's at 11 and those have swords so they are obviously 2x cooler.
Oh that one, I just like the sound it makes even if they are kinda useless
Any way to add Blade Breakers to Demonslayer hullmod? I hate these fricking homosexuals so god damned much...
Scalartech too
apparently it got an update
>mfw managed to capture a Buckbreaker Battlecruiser
Absolute core of my fleet now, it doesnt look that amazing for me but does wonders in AI hands while im zooming around in my destroyer.
>find 38k ore in a abandoned mining base
I hate this..
https://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=22882.0
Tuh-duh.
Yeah thats cool but i mean its 38k ore - like five times my cargo capacity without any supplies and loot...
How 2 have sex with Sierra?
You have to download the github version of the mod and THEN use a story point during one of her last quests to confess to her.
For me, it's capturing and recruiting every IBB bounty I'm sent after, "cleaning up" the Sector by consolidating all of its most powerful rogue elements under my banner before waging indiscriminate war on the Core.
Soul/soulless
Literally can't find a more objective example than this
Honestly prefer the AI look to the "let's all copy UAF's anime style" that everyone was drifting towards.
This. AI is just better than generic drew anime shipgirl portraits. Just because it was """handmade""" by some tryhard it doesn't mean the portrait is superior in any way to ones made by AI artists (which are only getting better).
the old one is AI too you fricking moron
You're not supposed to tell them.
Yeah what about it? Are you imagining things again? I meant to imply the former generated portraits were still more solid than the updated ones.
Pick two factions from this list that get to join the alliance. Everybody else burns.
Is it something new in Nex?? How do you engage in actual diplomacy??
Take Aurora and Diable.
Not sure what you mean, you've been able to go under special functions on another planet's market and invite them to your alliance if they're high enough relations for ages.
Hmmm how did i miss that..
The option won't show up at all if their relation isn't high enough yet, or if they're already in an alliance, so might have just gone unnoticed.
does gundam just work if i change it to current version
Yes, just don't construct the MS research buildings on colonies you own or it causes a crash
cool, thanks
Chiss Ascendancy and the Luddic Church
SBR and Aurora. Aurora is fun and SBR shows promise.
>Simping for the anime mods this hard
fricking yikes.
Seethe as much you want Noah.
Merry Christmas Noah
SEX Co and Tri-Tach
Can you recruit Station-bound NPCs that you rape until broken? I want to get some of these unique portraits into my fleet.
Don't worry my pony portrait replacer will be done "soon" (I'm not even working on it right now.)
>Hegemony keep curbstomping every faction i have in my game
Fricking Sid Meier Pirates Spain shit here... Time to start to undermine these gays.
Imagine simping for troony waifus and coomer mods when you could form a loving relationship with mechs. You care for them and equip them with weapons of death, they kill everything. Its great.
Where's my Mazinger mod with a frigate-sized fortress of death that cuts through fleets of capitals like they're made of butter?
Merry Seethemas, One and All!
Ho ho ho!
4 if you also count the one you can get after you betray her and she goes insane.
>spoiler
you what now
You can give Sierra away to Tri-Tach, or to Kween if you have PAGSM. If you do, she'll appear as a special bounty with a capital version of her ship. She'll also be mindbroken and won't recognize you.
She's also nonrecoverable so essentially gone from your playthrough forever
>Anons out here really using garbage mods because a female (male) png gave them a wiff of attention
My fellow starsector bros, I want to ask about Sephira, how good is it? Does it justify the bloat of installing DME, Magellan, and whatever Sephira fork out there?
You know the answer is no, just like its not worth it to install coomer troony shit just to "rape" the waifus. You're still using shit mods to do so.
Keep seething forumBlack person, you cannot stop me from using RS
Why would anyone care if you use RS? Its the shitty mods that homosexuals use WITH RS that is embarrassing. You know this though and are trying to play pretend, noah.
You seem to care quite a lot.
You care so much you replied mr carealot noah noahington of 123 noah ln.
RS is literally just a more effective version of recruiting captured officers and doesn't come with a built-in memory leak.
Cowards try to prevent their OCs from being affected by Rapesector.
Visionaries submit their own writing for their OCs to RS to ensure the H-content fits their lore.
sounds extremely gay tbqh
hey bro how do you want to to get you off
>Ok look I get it, you want to rape my PNG files. But if you're going to do that can we at least get some femdom/strap-on play in there? Maybe some bondage? Here I wrote this up ahead of time. *sends you over several PDFs with images showcasing how the scene should play out*
Chad
Only one modder has done that.
For real?
It's true
Which modder?
I cannot divulge such information lest he get lynched in USC
No its not Noah, he's actually pretty normal
even commissions art n stuff for his characters multiple times already
I just don't like the method of which RS prisoner system. Should've created its method instead of borrowing the one from Take No Prisoners.
Also, should be able to disable certain features in LunaLib or at least a config file. I don't wanna deal with stuff like custom colony industries and such.
NTA but to be fair it was supposed to just be a mememod quickly thrown together by the author. It has spiraled out of control partially due to coomers never shutting the frick up about it, especially on preddit and the discords.
I don't blame that anon if they get it to a certain point and just dump it as an open mod for someone else to take up.
he's just hiding behind "it's ironic so it doesn't need to be good"
also, agreed on the extraneous bullshit. I don't need your new marketplace items and whatnot, faction mods.
>NOOO YOU HECKIN NEED MY CAKES OR WHATEVER THE FRICK
You can't even disable the fricking rope guns without editing files in the mod. It's real cancer.
Fun part is you can.
Fun part is they still show up on the market. 🙂
Poorly coded dogshit.
Didn't actually notice that part.
Why is the bloat in the mod?
Is there a setting to disable you?
>Is there a setting to disable you?
kek anon absolutely destroyed
The settings page is very extensive. Everything is up for the player to decide.
If you are still unsatisfied, you can get a refund for the amount you paid.
>High Value Bounty
People still use Vayra Sector?
It's bundled into some other mod now, I've never touched Vayra's commie shit but I still have HVBs
Well it couldn't have been Magic since magiclib converts HVBs into its own magicbounty bounty board system iirc
These motherfrickers will use every troony and/or coomer mod possible then tell you its "just to rape them" as they describe in detail the lore, what ships to use, how to use them, etc.
Since the "rape" is just a string of words, moronic coomers need to read all the lore there is about x character to make the sunk cost worth it.
kek fair enough.
What a homosexual!

NEW UPDATE GIVES A NEW CANON CONJOINED GREMLIN
>another ship the AI can't use
>implying
I've literally made the perfect phase deathfleet command doctrine
you just gotta unfrick the AI yourselves
it's good that the game is getting another low-tech phase ship, it's also good that it looks durable. durable phase ships are way more interesting than the glass cannons.
it's bad that it's just a gremlin shitbash
I don't like phase ships. I like them in concept but not in use. The only one I actually use isn't a vanilla and isn't really a phase ship. Its the Valk P from ArmaA
That's because you have skill issue
Player's canonical flagship is literally the Ziggurat
>Skill issue
I don't think you know what this actually means based off your post
>Uses the zig as a flagship unironically
kek ok you're just shitposting.
i just don't use mods i don't like
I'm planning to do a super modded challenge run where I'm only allowed to use the base game ships. How much of a hard time do you guys think I will have going against Tahlan, UAF, Iron Shell, Cabal, etc factions? Difficulty mods like Ruthless sector are included too.
Guess vanilla blueprints are a concern as they will be the hardest to find lol
Yeah ok homosexual sure whatever.
Anyhow jokes and snark aside its way easier than you think. Brawlers, monitors, onbawds, and astrals are vanilla.
UAF will be the worst one to fight because it requires actually putting PD on ships, good luck
>tfw if starsector came to steam we would have asian modding communities pumping out tons of content in the workshop instead of discordtroons and their paypiggies ruling over the forums
Why did you think Alex and David were so terrified of Steam?
I always thought a game like Starsector would be more popular with eurasian modders, but I figure it must be hell to try to familiarize oneself with the forum's antics and grow in that environment as a foreigner content creator
If you store crew and marines in storage at one of your colonies do they still require wages?
no. sucks to be those guys.
if you store them at a colony you don't own you still need to pay storage fees though, but not wages
