Do you have a single fact to back that up?

You have 10 seconds to beat it before I add you to the list of HSA casualties.
I hate games with blatant waifu pandering in them, unless I can commit excessively unnecessary war crimes and wipe out everyone. It's why I dislike Zelda, but I love Terraria.

Everyone's a troony to you, huh? Why are you so obsessed with them? Lil bro is a troony in denial
I understand that you're angry about how transparent your troony behavior is. This lashing out won't change your impending suicide though.
There are so many cases of openly transphobic people being exposed for watching troony porn.
It's pretty funny watching you repeat yourself like a broken record, and you're most likely too dumb to even realize how stupid you are
>n-no you actually like trannies!
Its not a "phobia" to purge the weak, troony.
What do you call it then when you bring out trannies out of nowhere?
>out of nowhere
The fricking op was made by a troony and has trannies in it. Don't play stupid games.
1. That's a baseless assumption
2. What does the OP have to do with Terraria?
>That's a baseless assumption
oh ok you're just going to play moron troony now. Got it.
The main point is still, what does the OP have to do with Terraria?
>main point
The main point is the op troony shit, and you're a troony. Since you like terraria, its troony shit. Not sure why you're so hyperfocused on it though.
If you wanna go by that logic, doesn't you liking Starsector mean that you're a troony too?
This is the comment chain, and Terraria was first brought up by a new IP. You whining about trannies when the first post had nothing to do with OP makes no sense, now does it?
>this lashing out
To me it sounds like you're lashing out at random things because you got your feelings hurt by the OP.
None of you trannies actually like starsector don't try to lie.
>New IP

>to me it sounds
To me it sounds like you need to adjust your programming socks and go back.
And now you're literally arguing with this exact
"n-no you" argument. Did you not even finish high school?
I understand you have this innate desire to bicker with people like a child but your troony behavior was evident from the OP onward. It doesn't take some magic powers to notice it. Your discord misses you. You haven't checked in there in awhile, you've been too busy screeching nonsense here.
>like a child
You haven't based a single thing you've said on logic. The more you talk, the more it seems like you're projecting with everything you say
>You haven't based a single thing you've said on logic
>no no the op isn't made by trannies with troony waifus in it you're just imaging things
See this is the problem, in all your screeching you ignore reality.
Ok that's one thing. Now let's go back to the question, what does that have to do with
?
>no no we're really talking about terraria
have a nice day, troony.
>trannies like it so it must be good
Yes, that was exactly what we were talking about. Don't butt in to give your opinion if your reading comprehension is that of a grade schooler's.
>butt in
You mean like you discord furry predditor homosexual troony twatter using degenerates did to the starsector threads? The ones that were actually almost comfy before your plague?
So you do admit that you're randomly bringing up trannies in the thread. Good to hear
>randomly
THE OP IS A troony IMAGE, MADE BY TRANNIES, ABOUT TRANNIES.
STOP PLAYING PRETEND.
The OP image includes character(s) made by a possible troony, yes. Now what does that have to do with liking Terraria means you're a troony?
Its very clearly a troony game after all the sperging you've done about it.
Pointing out that your argument is moronic is troony behavior? Ok, dude. Go work on a higher education you fricking neet loser

There is no argument, just you bickering that you're not a troony doing troony things when it was obvious from the start. Debate the wall. Hey I think you just missed a ping.

i agree. patience, my brothers.
>Just gotta remove the gay stuff, like the generic teenagers who fight the bad guys with love and friendship.
Nothing gay about that, such heroism is pretty nice, actually. IRL doable too.
The problem is that it's often unearned. It just literally appears as a powerup and boom, now the bad guy gets defeated because of friendship rainbows or something. A victory should be hard to earn, and should come with a cost.
Earnedness is nice, but it's vast in its nuance to how something is earned and by whom or what, and I disagree for numerous reasons, too.
Watch early Tomino Gundam then. Daitarn 3 and Zambot too.
Why do modders hate Hegemony so much
I just want to bring order and justice to the sector
I simply don't like brazil.
It kinda works out because Hegemony will steamroll everyone in an average Nex game if they aren't getting pushback from multiple angles.
Perhaps Hegemony sensibilities run counter to their OCs?
Hey, at least it's not a typical "mass effect fanfic Shanxi war" rehearsal Starsector style.
I kinda find the opposite problem where there is just too many mod faction on hegemony friendly side like VIC, Dassault, Apex, Kesteven, Roider, FPE and Hegemony just ends up devouring rest of the sector to the point that I need keep Legio in as necessary evil so the sector doesnt turn orange 5 cycles in.
Your problem may be bloatmaxxing on shit faction mods given this post, anon.

Learned only to fight good in the wolf and did some trading sometimes
Anyway why people hate hegemony
How are they the bad guys?
In terms of actual lore, they ain't the worse out of the bunch (that's mostly Tri-Tac). If you want some reasons though:
>Extended emergency martial law nearly two centuries.
>Have history of powerful figures within it going rogue (in succession too!), and hence institutional incompetence.
>Was a part in the destruction of Opis (former capital of Askonia, now Diktat). Not too sure if they pulled the trigger, however.
>Was a part in the destruction of Hana Pacha. Again unknown if they were the ones who pulled it.
>Enforces trade tariffs and more importantly AI regulations.
In terms of gameplay, they're basically the reasons why you get taxed 30% on normal trades and can't use/sell AI cores.
>thou doth protest too much: the faction
you forgot
>Watched as the path destroyed Miraath
>then came in and killed everyone who was left to stand up to them
>tyrannical to the point that they caused the League to form
It's worth adding they don't enforce domain ai regs, they've been corrupted and enforce some luddic version of it, the domain was never ai bad, the domain was ai for me and not for thee. Most likely tritach was a duly authorized ai user, given someones gotta make the things and flavor text states domain admirals were given tours of tritach ai warships to sell them. If the Domain was somehow still alive and ever came back the heggies would probably be tossed into the same reeducation camps the luddics would be tossed into.
Do you like brazil, anon?
Just disable Nex's Diplomacy and Invasions entirely.
The Sector is supposed to be in an awkward balance of power between the mayor factions stuck in a cold war; one that the player is meant to break through their involvement in the developing history of the Sector, as Alex intended.

are we talking about galactica? if yes, i just watched the main series (the one that has 4 seasons) and understood everything, cool stuff. it's also sort of close ended?
i'm just about to watch stuff after the main series like the mini-series, then razor, then plan
Aye.
Been starving for some spaceship action. Maybe I should rewatch Stargate too, while I'm at it. Pity about how SGU turned out.
now you help me out
does stargate feature something on possibly the same level as galactica? i watched the original very old movie that's set in the desert planet, and there's this 10 season show, is it any good? or any others for stargate?
Well, I've yet to watch Battlestar so I wouldn't know, but Stargate is a nice show. Both Sg-1 and Atlantis stand on their own.
Sg-1 starts ostensibly as a sequel to that movie more or less, show escalates in tech as it progresses, older graphics show age but still work (amusingly the show was funded by US military, I suppose it's one reason why quality is consistent), a lot of nice women in the show here and there.
Some episodes can be mediocre, there are issues, later show villains are bit rehashed (in a self-aware fashion, as anniversary episode notes), but it's consistently nice in my opinion (I'm more pure-hearted than not, so I liked it), plus there are some truly excellent episodes. Tech wise though it's not particularly explained per se, conceptually it's solid to those who know.
Here's canon watching order if you want.

Someone sure is mad.
I wonder if giving planet killer to the pathers will have consequences in the future updates and if so which planet do you guys think it will be used on?
>consequences
No, just no.
Imagine thinking Alex will ever flesh out his random flights of fancy instead of leaving them discarded and unfinished to go chase after the newest shiny "game development advice" he saw and make the skill tree worse fifteen times.
The fact that the Guardian even appears in the current update stuff made d*relict-lovers excited because it's the first time they've gotten new content for their green squares in five years.
True derelict lovers stick to making gamma core rampart fleets with a few monitors mixed in.
I like fighting derelicts in the empire start but it gets lame fast because the other factions just ignoring that they are being taken over by the brickgang
Does the strategic AI thingy they added recently do anything for factions being able to resist the brickgang?
I play with DEX so the last time I tried Derelict Empire I got my teeth kicked in almost immediately and didn't try again.
When I recently tried the heg for example ignored their capital being immediately snatched by the domain. They... fought TT instead of trying to get their home back.
So still smoothbrained then. RIP. Shame, DEX ships with alpha cores actually make a fun boss faction.
dunno but I love the arsenal ship from DEX. what a great mod. Brick LOVE
I think it will, but not in actual planet death. It will have something to do with domain tech or something equally dumb "from the void" or something.
>he's a loser I swear, he has to be!

Yelling? I'm just replying with proper grammar. I've got a lot of evidence pointing at you being a loser.

You're talking to multiple people ranting and raving about trannies and terraria, you're embarrassing your discord.
It doesn't really matter if someone else butts in the argument. The original person knows he's a loser and that's enough for me

hahahaha yeah, they are a loser, not you right?
God damn these trannies are hilarious sometimes.

Are you schizophrenic?
You've been here for God knows how long spamming the same shit, and you didn't have a single good point when confronted about it. What are you if not an uneducated loser?
Damn you are an angry little troony.
Kenshi is a much better terrarian game. Has fallen spaceship debris, too.
Don't ask, trannies mad as usual.
If angry is how you see it, good for you. I'll leave you to your safe space. Ignorance is bliss
Kenshi seems neat, but I like Terraria aesthetics more. It's more homely.
Maybe if he adds some totally irrelevant planet Panthers could nuke
Isn't it just a single-use nuke? Doesn't seem like that big of an issue
yea deleting a whole planet is no biggie.
It's just a single planet. The existing sector has plenty of them.
Sure unless you're on that planet then it kinda sucks kek
>nuke chicomoztoc
>over half of sector population dies
Yeah, it's just a one time terrorist attack at the end of the day. It's nothing comparable to super powers launching nukes at each other and possibly ending humanity.
has a point though if you destroy a massive food production planet and it also leaves enough people alive for a noticeable refugee crisis
One time terrorism may turn into many more times, Anon-kun.
Unless you get a mission to kidnap researchers and develop the nuke for the Path, it will stay as one time. Planetkiller proliferation would make it become a real issue
>It's just a single planet.
>It's just a single star system
>It's just one species.
>It's just a single galaxy.
>It's just a
>Isn't it just a single-use nuke?
It's a bomb. You can only use it once.
>what is the askonia crisis
this, it would be a little scarier if it was a multi-use nuke, kinda works like a boomerang or something
iirc the PK needs special access codes. Considering the fact that pathers probably destroy anything that uses electricity i doubt that they'll ever get their hands on any sort of domain-era code.
So how do they use those space vessels then? Conan's Wheel of Pain tier mills, wheelbarrowing antimatter right into engines and rowing?
You really don't get it. Most blueprint and lpc clips are protected by copy protection that's apparently near impervious to cracking attempts by current hackers. And that's just the commercial and industrial stuff. If you think the activation codes for something like a planetkiller are the sort of thing you can scribble on a napkin you'd be wrong. I'd expect even greater protections than the production chips, some really nasty virus bombs, and at least one audio file calling you a moron to be part of a planetkiller's defenses, at minimum. Chances are, everyone with the right chips, codes, and protocols to activate it are long gone. Also, religious terrorists are generally more than willing to ignore their own rules in the name of the cause.
I was mostly joking, the image of man powered spaceships is quite a silly one.
But also a cool one too, in fact I'm reasonably sure making almost purely mechanical spacecraft is possible.
Purely mechanical too, if some hypothetical ftl enabling matter exists and can be mined on planets.
Some of the decisions the player can make from the update that added the PK have consequences. For example, you can promise a favor to Kanta instead of giving something. She eventually 'asks' the player to strat bomb a planet, if the player refuses then it's max hostility and pirate raids.
They don't even have the codes to arm it
nothing a few minutes on a TT alpha can't fix

You know I really don't think terraria is a very good game. It has really shit shipbuilding for one thing. The space battles are fricking GARBAGE compared to starsector.

Indeed.
my brother in ancient luddic technology, what the frick? i have a 2013 sony office laptop with 4 gigs of ram, a prehistoric intel card and a 2.4 ghz pentium processor. it works, and even gets to 60 fps sometimes with 73 mods i currently have. are we talking about you 2 gigs?
grab java 23 and use 2gb preset. it works for me. 1.5 was barely *not* enough but once i added mere 500 megabytes it just works
I played vanilla without issue on a 15 year old pc, the problems started when using mods. Are you using a shitty dell laptop or something?

>mfw having no problems playing starsector on a pc that's over a decade old
>difficulty mods to make getting ships harder
Someone mentioned that in the previous thread, any recs?
Starpocalypse makes it so to buy military shit you need commission with the faction in most cases. It makes ships in general harder for you to get and by default takes story points to recover ships (I disable this)
https://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=26969.0
Whoops that is not the version I am using. I use the old one with some tweaking and a version change.
Sounds somewhat promising. Will try it out tomorrow. Thanks!
>It makes ships in general harder for you to get and by default takes story points to recover ships
Yeah, that's even the case with your own ships. Brutal and gimps low-tech playstyle.
Yes, that is why I change the self recovery part. That and requiring a skill for smods in the rework are the 2 parts i really don't like that much.
>supposedly harder to buy ships
>Independents have no problem selling ship anyway
Kinda pointless. Yes, they do have at least two military markets as far I'm aware (Nortia and Baetis), so you can get decent ships as well.
>I went to the one set of markets specifically outlined as selling everything randomly and was surprised
ok
It lets me completely sidestep the difficulty the mod was adding. No stealth needed, either.
The "difficulty" is with recovery and salvaging ships and black markets. Not letting you have instant access to capitals is just part of the gating. You going to play capital grab bag at an indy station is part of the intended loop.
The real issue at the end of the day is it is all artificial lengthening of getting to the midgame at a certain point once you understand the game well enough. I'm miserable at it and all of the "hard mode" mods do is just make it take longer to get to where I'm going in a given playthrough.
That said, not much a modder can really do to change that in a meaningful way nor do I expect them to.
>The "difficulty" is with recovery and salvaging ships and black markets.
Now that I think of it. Buying ships would be difficult if you actually had trouble getting money, but smuggling is piss-easy. Just buy drugs at tritach and sell to pirate markets.
Credits are worthless by the time you get a fleet of merit. By the time you have a colony its a fricking joke.

Eeeeeeh. Have you ever been to the Askonia system and checked out the description of the Opis Asteroid Ring/Debris field?
There were survivors as in "people who were at least 1 million kilometers away from the total destruction radius of the bomb", then yes, there were technically survivors to the use of that planetkiller.
technically it's not wrong, Opis was/were a moon
Opis was a trans-planet

Okay, they were once merely your average basement-dwelling autistic troglodyte. That sound better?

Starsector?
I wanna populate my Nex playthroughs.
Suggest me some fun faction mods.
Don't care if they're balanced, as long as they're fun.
No anime shit.
VIC is worth it so you can viral bomb motherfrickers but it has knife ear lookin motherfrickers in its portraits because of genemodding in the mod's faction.
If you want to do Derelict Empire, DEX is a good pick for making them more interesting to fight.
I run with Roider Union and Star Federation in all my playthroughs. They're fun, even if the latter's ship designs are pretty scuffed.
>your average starsector fan when he's gone more than 5 minutes without committing a war crime
Pirate playthroughs are fun, nuff said

pls help
reaper launcher + tach lance
autopulse laser + extended magazines + anything really. Just make sure your flux dissipation is close to the cost and you should be gud. Motherfricker with ext mags uses a lot
What are some good brawling ships? The kind of ships which shred anything which gets too close while being able to survive just long enough to do their job.
Eradicator with SO?
They're good midgame ships, don't bring them to fight Remnants/Tri-Tach.

Fury with SO and dorito weps or ext mags and dual ion pulsers, antimatter, reapers, etc.
Excellent at ducking in and out of ~500 range, shredding, then withrawing. An intermediate version of the ion pulsers one without SO and with integrated targeting instead also does very well

I understand that you're some permaloser living-in-thread moron still malding about Alex balance changes from 0.95 or whatever, but SO is more than fine on the fury even at 45 OP, or in cases it's free like LP lashers.
There's no better way to force an overmatch in flux and boost a base chassis' mobility. Post gameplay of your non-SO brawler build soloing 4x its DP if you disagree

Aren't you the troony/discord schizo? Why do you keep typing like you're on an online chat room? Capitalize your fricking letters and type out proper sentences you imbecile.
Not even the OP did that.

Besides, you can get dorito weaps very early on without even fighting omegas, if you kill the optional tri-tach hunter killer and elite merc fleets in the galatia chain like I did.
Hard to find a better strike / brawler cruiser in vanilla tbh.

How old are the most ancient human ships again? ~1k years?
no information. but old enough to already be very old in comparison to the two centuries since the gate collapse
so several centuries at least
honestly i love the uncertainity and i think that its way cooler like this
Standard procedure would have the Domain send a well-supplied expedition of Gate engineers to reset the primary systems and send the Hauler back on its journey, albeit many hundreds of cycles behind schedule.
considering the contrast between explorarium drones and technology which was used right before the collapse like tesseracts, i believe that domain has explored space for thousands, if not tens of thousands of years
Personally I like both, but I like when there's actual numbers to go with, makes it easier to imagine scales.
I think mothership had thousands of cycles in its description. Pity no full there's no full scale mothership model.
Would be a b***h to render, the probe's already station sized and the mothership looks to be at least five times as large. I don't think it would fit in any standard battle map size.
What if the map was the mothership and you fought inside it? It's a cramped space, full of derelict drones (they had to come from somewhere in this thing) and maybe destroyable sections to blow up and worm frigates through. A Hyperion, phase skimmer ship, or phase ship would be valuable for no-clipping or teleporting across hard barriers. Total DP and the amount and size of ships you can deploy are limited making it an interesting problem to select the right ships and use them effectively. And you could toss a reaper into some reactor at an end of the map then retreat before it takes you along with it or destroy all defenses.
The background could be dark and full of greebling instead of the starfield and you can just not render sections a ways past walls.
Would be interesting, but would be so completely different from anything currently in the game that it would basically completely redefine how combat works. Ideally, someone would put thumbscrews on Alex and force him to make this.
It would be hilarious to use this with that mod that makes mothership-sized derelict supercaps though.
>Enter mothership
>Mothership interior is guarded by another mothership
>Enter that mothership

How probable is it that Domain tech remnants in Persean sector themselves are but a shadow of what the Domain could use, i.e. coronal hypershunts being ostensibly ubiquitous items, etc?
Considering that it was launching moon-sized gates for thousands of years in such numbers that you can find them in whateverfricknowhere systems of zero interest and gate haulers which use venerated technology by domain standards could deploy huge autonomous mining operations with production nearing that of the entire factions it's absolutely certain that development level of core domain sectors would be outright magical compared to what persians got.
14th battlegroup is literally ancient and yet they still had more advanced nanofabs than colony worlds when they arrived.
I think haulers were also produced autonomously
Sort of a grey goo scenario where they kept expanding outwards until they hit something nasty which caused entire network to collapse
[REDACTED] were just some civilian grade self defense drones by domain standards
They're not just cheap, they're ancient by the time the game starts. The probes and survey ships were sent long before the gate haulers and cryosleepers which is probably why the more advanced Guardians guard the sleepers and the mining station set up by the hauler.
They made the gate network. I think that kind of answers the question.

What's wrong with UAF besides "Fukin' weebshit, get out of my exploding space ships simulator"?
The creators and hangerons mean I will never use the mod.
I think it would be more appropriate to ask what isn't wrong with UAF
I think it bloats the loot table with more colony items and overpriced blueprints. I also don't like how perfectly all their ships maneuver; It feels like you're using a shitty aimbot.
I'm annoyed that the weapons are not very visually distinct and their names are clusterfricks so it's hard to get any clear identity from them
Dev has a massive ego which clashes with the established modder's massive egos. Combine that with the white knights on both sides, and the "woe is me" attitude from said sides, and you get a general idea of why UAF is so polarizing.
This
>One side cries about how the other bullies him and how that makes him the big sad, despite being surrounded by modders, youtubers and simps

The Rebel flagship from Star Federation. It has a special move that absorbs all incoming fire, then shoots it back out in a glorious homage to its FTL counterpart.
Don't use shield shunt on midline ships.
You probably want a Conquest or Invictus but neither 'rush'. Invictus definitely can obliterate non-invictus but it's a massive resource hog.

what a tragedy
What's your way to make money at the start in 0.97? Usually I do some smuggling to buy marines for raids. Exploration usually just results in you getting molested by remnants or pirates.
i just do trading, then i kill pirates. then i go exploring to sell blueprints (you cannot tell me this isn't effiecient when i can find 4 250k capital blueprints in a garbage can next system) and kill the random occasional bounty i stumble upon or if it's in my way.
same for exploration missions, but i don't do survey ones until i've got a skill that halves survey cost.
trading cores to TT is also fricking nuts

I do exploration and just go dark when I see a red beacon. been working since 0.91 when I started playing this game

Is there really a handholding version of rapesector or is that just a joke?
It's called Take No Prisoners aka Captured Crews. You used to be able to download it from the forum, but the guy maintaining it took it down because he didn't want to encourage the evil R*pe mod.
Unfortunately R*pesector is now the only mod that has its functionality.
rapesector IS the handholding version. There's probably more handholding and consensual content in rapesector than there is rape.
This. RS is great and frick every crybaby that doesn't respect handholding
RS has a romance and a rape option. Both come benefits of their own (raped prisoners can be turned in at breeding facilities for population growth, romanced officers get a very handy skill) and costs (romance takes time, rape can affect relations with the victim's faction).
Billions must be patted on the head.
How come no one except you bother to go out there and scan various planets? Survey data pays pretty well yet all the planets outside the core are undiscovered. Are they all coward or something?
Its undiscovered for you. There are people surveying it. You just don't see em and you didn't buy access to the data (not that you can)
Like, you literally see other surveying fleets when you're out there. Its just game abstraction they don't take stashes and shit to make exploring not cancer.

How to update this mod to 0.97? I really want a XIV variant of these from Ship/Weapon pack

For a lot of these mods simply changing the version to 0.97 in mod_info.json works

Not directly, since they already have pristine forge on Cullan, but if you are willing spend time and credits - you can use "request fleet" feature of Nex, and just plap defensive fleets if you see impending invasions of TriTach markets. Or try gifting them market with extreme heat, high command and cryoarithmetic engine, but without IndEvo and interstellar relay its going to buff only a single system.

paragon AI fits are so bad sometimes lol
How is shit like this not fixed
The AI still can't use phase ships properly, shitty autofits are so far down on the list of things that need fixing.
autofit downgrades work just fine, it uses garbage because it's a garbage ship and all the good weapons were unavailable.
tachlance (energy20, beam15) -> heavyburst (pd15, beam10)
plasma (energy20) -> heavyblaster (energy14)
heavyneedler (kinetic15) -> shredder (kinetic8)
etc
it's intentional for the AI to downsize weapons when autofitting if there's nothing appropriately sized; there is no unlocked by default large energy weapon
on the other hand for whatever reason you can get shit like
where apparently a heavy needler was replaced with a thumper due to a missing blueprint, instead of an arbalest which fills a much closer role (medium kinetic gun) in contrast to the thumper which fufills a different role (medium anti-hull finisher)
as for the rear gravitons pictured in
then I have no fricking idea what kind of crack the autofit fairy was smoking when putting those in the back instead of the heavy burst lasers
also you now realize there's an afflictor in that screenshot with a LR PD laser turret, 2 light mortars, 1 light assault gun, and 1 annihilator pod
>where apparently a heavy needler was replaced with a thumper due to a missing blueprint
there's no tag for frag ballistics since there's so few of them, so they just get counted as kinetic. would an arb be better? sometimes, sure. it could've ended up as an arb, or a railgun, just luck when you're downgrading that far.
>also you now realize there's an afflictor in that screenshot with a LR PD laser turret, 2 light mortars, 1 light assault gun, and 1 annihilator pod
I've seen this, it's a part of a problem too
>since they already have pristine forge on Cullan
What
They only have a Corrupted Forge in Culaan not Pristine
No way man, thats just stupid
>look it up
>its actually true
TriJews are even worse than I thought them to be
And yet you are still using your TriPad™ to post here and all the hyperspace comstations are running on their protocols
The ones that are worse here are the Hegmonkeys since the moment you delete their forge all their shit fleets get d-modded as frick while TTs only get like 2 d-mods at best if you removed their forge
Are Tritarch android catgirls in the game yet

My favorite game...
The game that probably single handedly caused my obsession with carriers in space games.
Those hangars with that gentle lighting are always a joy to look at.
Starsector is one of the only games to properly let carriers carry a ton of smol ships besides homeworld. Always pisses me off when you get a "Carrier" in a lot of games and its 1-2 fighters if that. Same with "pet classes" in games where its you and your 30 second golem spawn or whatever.
I can't recall, does SW have any dedicated carrier spacecraft?
Chode has drone carriers and you can deploy fleets up to hundreds in size.
Here's a relatively small stinger fleet from one of the tutorial missions, firing tracer railguns
I'm still mad I spent money on that "game". I play a lot of janky shit, too.

Exactly what a low level ai core would say...
Pointing fingers now, hmmm? You won't shift blame on me, I'm onto your game, robot!
At least you recognize I have fingers, unlike you and your robit inputs and outputs.
I guess it's less wobble and more a drifty camera on the cursor. I was wondering if you could lock the camera to the ship instead of the cursor.
If you mean in campaign layer - just press right mouse button. Funny, I thought I saw the exact same question in the last thread. How odd
I was thinking combat actually!
Then I am afraid, that I dont understand what you mean. Yeah, camera is bound to the cursor, but if you are moving your cursor so much that the camera shakes - I dont know what to tell you. Maybe try playing admiral, just giving orders to the ships, without entering combat yourself
I think they just want the camera locked to the ship in combat which seems... awful.
>Maybe try playin admiral
Can the enemy actually shoot your "pod" that you show up in when not flying a ship?
The pod only appears if you change ships during battle, and no, they cant shoot you. If you dont deploy your flagship, then the pod also doesnt appear. As shrimple as that.
Ah, any time I tried the game just yells at me to switch to a ship the whole time and shows the pod on the bottom left.
Nah, you just focus on one of the deployed ships and enjoy the view. The only downside is you cant use speedup, since it breaks observation mod and returns you back to the map screen.
You can use it, just rebind.
Huh, why I didn't think of that for how many years playing this game. Thanks fren
BALLISTICS SHOULD NOT GENERATE FLUX!
They are powered turrets anon.
Mere hydraulics and motors to rotate them wouldn't generate that much flux!
>compensation for massive guns wouldn't use power
ok
Using power =/= generate waste not-heat/what-the-frick it is.
How many uncontainable ship frying byproducts does your blender generate?
You mean yours doesn't generate tons of waste electricity and enough heat to melt plastic?
A worthy enough price to bring back balance to the game.
Not counting other solutions to heat in space problem, heat is about the one thing flux can be counted as a foremost solution to in game, while things like turret assemblies likely possess their own redundant internal cooling. Which I suppose is an answer to the whole thing, but still.
>waste electricity
Anon-kun...
I know what I said. Although it would be interesting to see a ship in the future having to deploy fins to direct excess flux away from the main hull. That being said how the hell does venting flux even works in game terms?
>That being said how the hell does venting flux even works in game terms?
By pressing the vent button?
Perhaps you meant IRL terms?
I mean in universe
Clearly flux is a product of high energy physics research. I'm reasonably sure it's IRL recreatable, so I won't say much on the matter at all.
>it's just a bunch of ME2 style thermal mags
>shit just getting dumped out via hatches in the ship
Considering how venting process looks, there must be an astronomic frickton of them, a thermal clip in ME2 was what, a bullet cartridge sized item? There must be well beyond trillions per tiny ship segment to cause that vent shimmer!
he meant in "in-game" terms probably, as in how would that work in the "lore-accurate reality", not our scuffed lame reality where you pump excess heat into some waste material, and then you eject it into the thrashcan of space.
Maybe heat is just pumped into some gas and it is then ejected?
Using something like ice slurry would make more sense as gasses expand like crazy during heat up, way more than liquids
How much money can one make from selling such "space icecream"?
Our reality is not lame. Their staunch unwillingness or whatever other reasons, enforcement, etc that result in lack of sharp innovations on some matters in no way means many things can't be done.
Transfer to a new ship and put potatoes to roast in the hot ship, easy!
>waste electricity
You mean heat?
There's also ventilation, cooling, ammo production, possible power needs related to firing (railguns, for example), and computing requirements taking up flux capacity.
Tying all systems to one vent is a really terrible construction, you know.
All those systems need to operate on their own, otherwise you gimp the ship.
I personally believe flux isn't heat but power grid instability, every time you take a hot or fire a weapon, it generates a spike in the grid that it has to absorb. Overloads are basically emergency shutdowns to keep the power grid from exploding.
That too has its own problems, clearly, for the same and other reasons. But one can make an argument that most power grids on sector ships are either weak, worn down or badly designed, except for old domain ships or top mods.
Or that it became somewhat of a "tradition" instituted by hegemony or domain to make ships owned by others more manageable.
>ballistics no longer generate flux
>but they go back to having ammo
This anon

I wouldn't, actually. I like many bullets. I'd like a field supply craft too, with some "hijack enemy ship" mechanics where both sides try to steal each others resources.

You're a spineless little coward, aren't you?
yep thats what happened.
Are you not capable of talking to me directly? You're like a little b***h looking at the ground instead of the other person's eyes spouting ambiguous words thinking they're being witty

Just have sex already.
Nah I don't have sex with people who play terraria.
I'm... not whoever you have imagined in your head. But ok have fun with that.
sure noah, better get on with your daily dilating session
>hey guys i posted it again
this game may aswell not exist without nexerelin
I have never said anything in any of these threads about nex. It is funny how sensitive the discordians are about it though.
Hey whats your opinion on terraria btw?
kek what a fricking jackass. Did Dazs code it right after doing hivers?
>have no bps and awful production quality
>forges produce ships with dumb weapons
not seeing the problem
got my 2nd colony game going and I think I got all the crisis down. The luddic guys never give me much trouble I usually find the planet killer during exploration and just hand that over and then do the immigration deal with the church. Managed to bribe Kanta with 1000 blue oysters which I think is the cheapest way to go since it seemed like a perma soln (could be luck tho). Persean was easy I just singled out their grand armada when they zerg rushed me which was simple cause the morons shot out first and couldnt get back to reinforcements in time. Diktat just stole their gas pump and gave gamma cores to patch the rep up. Tritach was weird
>bribe the merc guy with one mil
>um ackshully make it two mil
>only had 1.6 mil on hand, hit accept anyways since it wasnt greyed out
>it works and bomed/raided their shit until the bar fills up, then bribe with gammas
hedgemony will be fun, I got 3 military bases and a pristine forge going so I'm looking forward to stacking 20 alpha cores in everything and let them bring it on
>Managed to bribe Kanta with 1000 blue oysters
You can give her any colony item, even the shitty ko combine drone one. I usually just pay her 1 mill to frick off if I don't have anything from salvaging as 1m creds might as well be 10k its nothing once you're in the colony phase.
>Managed to bribe Kanta with 1000 blue oysters which I think is the cheapest way
You profit off her if you gave her a lamp
Why not just kill her?
Because one of her clones in an invisible powered suit with a radiation projector strong enough melt concrete is going to land on top of my luxury resort and kill me if I will try
Blowing up Kanta's Den doesn't do shit, the pirates are still going to come annoy you. Just throw a thousands lobbers her way or something and call it a day.
Annoy me? I can kill pirates in thousands, this is simply stupendous!
You can kill mosquitoes in the thousands too, doesn't mean they won't come flying around your home again. Besides, they're better kept alive to be raided and selling whatever you stole back to them.
Ah, but the comparison doesn't work here that well, pirates aren't mosquitoes. Nah, kill all pirates!
If you want to do that, killing all explicitly pirate ports wouldn't be enough. The difference between an independent trader and a pirate raider is roughly a missed installment on their debts. You'd need to destroy all major independent ports, and any of the major factions who might try privateering as well (read: all of them).
Not to mention they can just spawn out of nowhere and shit out an outpost.
>satbombing all factions isn't his lategame
Go away lamp autist.

That'll just piss her off more since she's immortal
You min/max making credits in starsector. Nothing you say will ever be an insult.
>That'll just piss her off more since she's immortal
Laughs in [redacted]
>2 mining invictuses
Someone gotta hold all that ore
I've now got a mental image of somebody trying to claim a bunch of freshly bought black market astrals are mining barges and not fleet carriers to an incredibly tired looking inspector
>This legion ahs been set up with mining lasers mining barges and mining rockets I swear bro
The stri- i mean mining boats aren't armed with reapers, they're just jumbo hammers, for cracking tough asteroids, see?
kek I like the couple mods that add "mining" tools like lasers and PD and whatnot designed around breaking up rocks. Fun to use them to mine with nex then mine hulls.
>your single large mining fleet is strong enough to singlehandedly conquer few minor factions
Absolute state of nexerelin
>he doesn't go mining with his aircraft carriers
what is this, minecraft?
the easiest way to make the game more interesting is limit yourself to using ships you salvage or capture from combat no mods needed
i tried doing it with weapons too but ended up with the same loadouts i would use anyways because derelict drones keep giving me hvds reapers and harpoons
Ok I get that Alex wanted to show how Invictus is an old ship that requires large amount of crew to function but really 1000 crew would suffice and not fricking 4000 .
The dominion from missing ships big boi ships pack takes like 6k kek
I like it.
Luddoids replaced all the elevators with pedal-powered funiculars, as their faith demands.
*finger-powered funiculars
Pedal power is for more important tasks.
I'll never forgive the Invictus nerf
Maybe they were MREs?
I don't bother bribing Kanta with whatever because colony crises are the only endgame content and I want my +event progress as high as possible (shame it's capped at +60)
>I said the things like they say so that makes me totally fit in guys, check it out
damn its so sad when they do this.

i still want to know if you can frick your way through the academy questline by fricking Alviss.
if you mean the first fetch missions then yes because all you need is reputation with him
you can test this by granting yourself rep with console and he will offer the black site mission instantly
Yea other than the required missions obviously where you get gated you have to do missions for the academy two different times before it continues. Thats funny figured it would but wanted an anon who had tried it to give info. He'll wave back for sure this time.
Honestly aside from the shit pacing, and the premise of you working for an autistic old & anal lesbian, the Galatia quests do have some interesting casts.A4WS
>and the premise of you working for an autistic old & anal lesbian
what
t. never played main quest
NTA but you're not losing much, character design is not a strong suit of this game.
the main characters of the story currently are an old bald dyke, a troony, a young dyke, and one based dude who you better wave at.
>and one based dude who you better wave at
Literally the best character in the entire game.
Galatia quests are worth doing purely so you can see him some more.
>an old bald dyke, a troony, a young dyke
By the Ludd, have those hyperspace spooks finally get to Alex?!
>and one based dude who you better wave at.
Frick what those snowflakes, officials and other shites think, I will wave at him
Good man.
>old bald dyke
Pretty sure Baird and Kallichore fricked and Kallichore is a man
Dyke in this case is used to describe the character. The c**t fits the dyke class fully. Now does she carpet munch? I don't care she should be airlocked.
Javik, is that you?
also I should add that Alviss is the only man working for the academy. The rest are pussies who should be on discord.
>Did some writing for the writegay thread one board down

nyoooooooooooah
How would the coding part of that work though? Usually if you lose you just get kick back to the campaign layer without anything else.
There already is code and an event in place if you lose as a female character to pirates.
Too bad nobody plays as female
That would be something only trannies do
Nah.

How do I obtain AI Subsystem Integration hullmod from Emergent Threats? I have Abomination Interface and plenty of Adaptive shit in my list of hullmods, but I can't apply them anywhere without integration which I don't have.
As per usual - random loot from exploration.
If you have Locked&Loaded mod, Emergent Threats add bounty chain, which pays exactly 0 credits, but the fleets always drop some of the adaptive and remnants modspecs, look for the bounty "To hunt a white whale", it starts the chain.
Or you can just console command it.

I have come to the conclusion that there are no good starsector mods. They're all trash.
There were nice mods in earlier days, I think.
And without this troony animu drama mess, too.
I fixed your iceberg sir. Here.

I feel like rapesector should be at least midlevel iceberg at most
Considering everyone on the discords, reddit, and twitter all use it but don't talk about it openly because they might get heckin banned its not even iceberg tier.
Exactly.

what happened in the 9th tournament?
newbie here. Is the ArmaA Corp. in the ArmaA mod not a full faction, or is my install bugged? New Meshan is owned by independents, even when I select the ArmaA start on nex, and the ArmaA Corp doesn't show up in my faction window.
That's intentional, they're a minor faction
Thanks, I was tripping out because I thought I saw them as a faction on an earlier save.
Time to get this MRC start underway and burn TT to the ground.
If my ground forces are unbeatable, does that mean that I can never lose that colony?
You need a minimum 50,000% ground defense modifier to protect you from sat bombings.
Aren't the core guys supposed to be the good guys? Why would they sat bomb my planet?

Wasn't there a comprehensive weapons review sheet some time back? Is it still being updated?
if you want a moron to be wrong about some weapon just ask about it here
well then what the FRICK do I put on carriers?
depends on the carrier and are you talking fighters or weapons?
The answer is valk (p)s btw.
what's all the fighter types do? do the carriers even use guns?
what about modded carriers? ahem the touhou ones specifically?
The fighter roles respond to their real life counterparts for the most part. If you use bombers on a carrier get used to toggling engage/regroup to get them to behave and do runs properly. I use carrier weapon slots for harassment/suppression/PD. Condor with a pilum and valk (p)s from ArmaA = fun and annoying time for the enemy.
don't use carriers
don't listen to him, use carriers
don't listen to both of them, use phase ships
Is there? Now I'm curious. I want a good laugh.
I thought Ashes of the Domain being shitty was hyperbole, but God it is bad.
The events module is ESL as frick, but that's not the worst of it: the "research" module is effectively a permanent colony nerf, because research resources (databanks) are so rare from low-risk sources that the only way to reliably get them is by getting an endgame "frick you" fleet and beating the ridiculous Remnant fleets guarding pre-collapse facilities.
Black person, by the time I get fleets that can reliably stomp that many Remnants the game is already over; effectively gating colony progression behind endgame combat just means I'll never develop my colonies in the first place.
Eh, only way to make game last is to really bolster faction fleets, it seems, or give them smarter AIs.
Being an omega AI player is a bit tough.
FRICK THE MODDER'S SELF INSERT
What if I told you that not using their mods and ignoring them is actually way worse for their fragile egos and minds? What if I told you most of them LIKE it when you rape their waifus and self inserts?
Is it safe to upgrade to 0.97 now or is Alex still cooking up another hotfix?
Sounds about right.
I was waiting for another 1-2 hotfixes but it seems like he's slowing down now. I'm personally going to wait another week or two but I'm not in any real hurry myself.
>kick up so much fuss
Yet they all use it and talk about it in "private"
Indeed. They are a constant fixture in the recen starsector threads looking for that validation, too. If no one mentions their precious mods or self inserts in these threads you're basically invalidating their existence.
>that said use RS and do whatever you want, I'm not a space cop.
>he still thinks its another hotfix
Better pack up your mods because its time for 0.98
Nostalgia edition deletes all the actually fun ships
Use the Uncut and Uncucked edition from the archived threads here instead
>Better pack up your mods because its time for 0.98
kek how new are you? We're about 2 years from the next release now.
Alex is finally cooking up an update to the Java
from the tweet he posted he's trying out java17 so it still has support for 32bit OS for some reason
>so it still has support for 32bit OS for some reason
>he doesn't want to run starsector on his medical data entry tablet
ngmi
Starsector to replace Doom as a replacement to check on whether or not something with a screen could run it when?
Tbqh, we did get two proper updates within a year. So we could finally be getting an Alex releasing 1.0 within the decade.
>What if I told you most of them LIKE it when you rape their waifus and self inserts?
Is this why they kick up so much fuss about the mod? Is this the same case with le ebin nazi mod?
>the 'lady' doth protest too much
Clearly ignoring them is the right thing to do, then. Anons aren't obligated to stoop so low as to entertain their twisted fetishes.
SEX
Frick, Neutrino's ships are so cool
is there a working bootleg?
afaik Nostalgia Edition works with version change
Does anyone have those webms of boxing Conquest punching other ships?
Brrrgh, I meant Onslaught.
which hullmods do you guys always build in?
Solar shielding on logistics and flagships. I use progressive smods though so I have to get xp to actually do that. On ships I'm shield shunting I will habitually use reinforced bulkheads for that sweet hull integrity.
Hullmods are for suckers. Ramming speed!
efficiency overhaul
efficiency overhaul + fuel/cargo increase
eccm + expanded racks or missile autoloader
Without modding it to fix it there is no way I'd build in missile racks.
its a minor annoyance for now but if he goes further with the smod nerfs im going to remove all the maluses
i already unnerfed the reaper launcher too
I have begun taking the things he nerfs, and making a prenerf version just for my uses as their own weapons. The smod penalties are fricking moronic.
>armor being built in slows your maneuverability down
...shouldn't it be the other way around? You'd think building it in would make the ship BETTER not worse.
Pay the OP cost—like we did before s-mods—and you don't have maneuverability penalties, heavy armor used to just eat shit on maneuverability; s-mod or not. The entire point of bonus/penalties to s-mods is to make s-modding a choice and make low OP mods a valid consideration to make instead of "install whatever gets me the most OP refunded". But people would rather whine and complain that low tech is over because they have—god forbid—a maneuverability penalty on low tech ships for slapping on heavy armor and bigger guns with saved OP. For fricks sake you can build in heavy armor, add auxiliary thrusters, and still end up with extra OP and more maneuverability than what you started with. 25% maneuverability is a bit much considering it was 10% before, I'd just drop it to 15-20% and call it good.
Same deal for EMR, as
said it's actual penalty depends on the weapon. Also elite missile spec negates the penalty with an extra 5% to spare. Built in EMR for better missiles with an elite missile spec officer can make a pretty good ship.
Skill thresholds can lick my taint though, I will not be handicapped because I brought an extra fighter wing. If you don't want the fighter spam then at least bring back officer carrier skills. There's already existing gameplay mechanics that encourage sound fleet composition.
>The entire point of bonus/penalties to s-mods
KWAB frick off alex
Honestly it's not too bad for reapers, as most shit will die in 1~2 torpedo. Reloading can take it's time. But yeah, for like harpoons and sabots NO.
I don't think any of them are really "that bad" per se. It is more on principle. Same reason I use adjustable skill thresholds tuned way the frick up ( https://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=20265.0 ) because frick you alex.
Rimworld has furries instead.
They're still a schizophrenic subclass, but their culture is old and "adult" enough by now to not shit where they eat.
Is java 23 only 64bit? frick
I think 17 was the last 32bit one?
>My calculator can't run starsector!? WTF what a piece of junk!
I'm mostly being a smart ass about the update thing but I wouldn't count on anything new coming out for awhile unless he has to fix something. Expect at least 6 months of dumb blogposts about how he's going to frick something up that already works fine first.
>I think 17 was the last 32bit one?
Its java18 technically but everything after is 64bit only
WHAT THE FRICK IS FLUX
Its literaly borrowed energy/entropy. When shields intercept projectile or weapons fire it violates the basic laws of physics, since the mass and energy cant just dissapear, and negative effects of such violation called "flux" is dumped into capacitors, which are some kind of storage, maybe of quantum nature, I dunno.
But they don't just disappear, you can clearly see missiles exploding as it was an impact. Shields have to be solid
Missles yes, but not ballistic projectiles. Some modded ones are reflected, but the majority simply evaporates. Perhaps they simply disintegrate from the force of collision, but thats just shield magic.
how entire front of my onslaught doesn't evaporate when i burn into conquest's shields
onbawd strong, conquest babby
read that in heavy's voice
I would guess that too much mass. Even space magic has its limits.
>me when too much mass hits
>High-tech energy wepons harmlessly bouncing off Onslaughts' mighty armor
>plasma cannon
Beautiful chocolate milkers
Not the same matter types, not the same density, not the same velocities, not the same matter structure, etc. Ships are made to be tough, missiles are expected to blow up and are optimized by design and resource logistics.
Missiles are also made to be tought if you didn't know
Even modern ICBMs carry enough armor to withstand small arms fire, spacefaring antimatter nukes in a hostile enviroment with PD will be armored like small frigates
Also i have feeling that you're just making stuff up to support your hypothesis now because "they're not the same!!!"
Well, since we dont have a "canonical" explanation of what flux is - any anons' headcannon is as good as any other.
Besides, purely in game mechanics terms almost all missles are pure hull, without any armor, while even the shittiest high-tech frigates will have atleast some amount of armor.
Eh, I'm just tossing ideas.
At any rate, just because any select armament needs to be tough to withstand conditions doesn't mean items are equally comparable, and since we're talking about energy physics, the way energy spreads relative to size is important.
Practically speaking the reason why we don't see missile remains is likely due to engine limitations only. There should be much more debris, no?
Bunker Buster beats shields
TIL
but ships generate flux without shields
Yeah, when firing weapons. Energy weapons are surely guilty of violating some universal laws, which is why Luddics fear and hate them, and ballistics used to have ammo and generate almost no flux, since they are much simpler, but it got changed because gameplay balance.
>shield damage can literally make a ship recoil
>all shields without extreme optimization make flux as they work and shot at
>"it violates the basic laws"
[citation needed]
>Citiaion needed
I saw it in a dream,
Sniper! Get
>Reroute it to capacitors
>Reroute it back into weapons
It's coming right back to you motherfricker
Flux in this case is a storage of heat, so both your lazergun and shield generator won't melt themselves when operating at energies capable of splitting a ship into two
>Reroute it
If weapons would consume flux rather than generate it - exactly how it would work. As far as I know, the only ship to operate that way is Excelsior from SWP, so, mods.
>since the mass and energy cant just dissapear
skadoosh
I downloaded the Touhou mod and that market music is schizophrenia-inducing
Is it from 2hu games or some arrange?
So its accurate to the source material.
Name the track? i love 2hu music mods in all my games that have them, it's very nice to hear melodies I already know by heart in game-appropriate arranges and mixes, but starsector I usually play with some background playlist on.
that shit plays 24/7 and is short enough to loop incessantly
Yeah, but If I know the track, I can look it up and know which "OG" tracks the hook is from, and see(hear, lol) whether I like the way it's played there more than in it's original arrangement. It probably sounds moronic to you, but I love when I find a riff in a melody that just sounds to me better than the og one, and that's the one I start thinking of whenever I hear the melody in any other arrangement. It's very rare, but it happens.
>and see(hear, lol)
close the gate
close the gate NOW
Is this a reference to something, or are you pointing out that I still type the same way I did 20-some years ago?
I'm saying that if it's a destructive thing that can be "dumped" into it's own version of storage, it should be possible to "dump" it on enemies, like cement boxes with radioactive waste barrels inside (The slowly destructive variety), or pressurized corrosive gasses (The quickly destructive variety).
In essence if you can move it around, that can be weaponized.
20 years ago? Have we met? Is it a hyperspace travel causality incident?
Ah, got you. I think there was a mod, that tried to do just that - venting flux in close proximity to ships would damage them, scaling with the venting speed. Cant remember the name though, and I think the last i saw it was 0.9.1 or something
>rear engine vent system hullmod
>fart on enemies to kill them when they try to sneak up from behind
Would unironically use in my next pirate playthrough
Like a budget orion drive or something
>ship named Ziggurat
>doesn't look like a Ziggurat
one job!
is there a colony guide?
You mean how to make them profitable? Just stack accsessebility and even 300% hazard hellholes will be profitable.
If you mean in general - forums used to have a colony guide for 0.91, but its little bit dated.
If not, then you have to be more specific.
Okay what if ballistics don't actually shoot bullet-like projectiles and all explanations which mention them are just jargon dating back to old earth?
Like mjolnir shoots singularities (however the frick that works), maybe ballistic weapons are just indirect energy projection weapons?
Okay but what if I use this railgun to launch this metal slug up your ass?
Plasma guns are also railguns, anon, there's no way you can accelerate a giant steaming pile of plasma by touching it and not melting in the process
Gauss guns can fire same kind of singularities mjolnir does
Then what are energy weapons? Missiles?
And missiles are spaceships?
>And missiles are spaceships?
Kinda
And what are spaceships then in his crazy jargon analogy?
Energy weapons are directly projecting the energy onto your enemy, ballistics are packing that energy into something and launching it.
Missilies are just mobile payload platforms with variety of uses. Like mdems aren't conventional missiles
Thinking about it, this should classify plasma cannon as ballistic as too, considering that you have to turn something into plasma to launch it
NTA, but that analogy may not be that crazy.
Torpedoes, are seamines that were pulled by a chain by motorboats, that evolved to being mounted (on an arm lengthy arm) in front of a torpedo boats, to being their own motorboats, sent unmanned from the original motorboats.
That's a fair point.
Out for Ludd 2: The Holy War.
IT DOESN'T MAKE FRICKING SENSE
IF BALLISTICS PRODUCE AMMO IN NONOFABS AT THE COST OF FLUX, THEN BUILDING FIGHTERS SHOULD ALSO GENERATE FLUX
IF THEY USE INTERNAL SUPPLY, WHY YOU CAN NEVER RUN OUT?
>WHY YOU CAN NEVER RUN OUT?
Can't you?
Supplies and antimatter fuel as construction resources, but don't count as consumption in battle due to game mechanics?
You've got incredible fighter insurance
Captain, minor gigatonne antimatter explosion in fighter construction bay!

No, I think not.
Tell me about DUNC,, how was it?
that stupid donkey hasn't made a good video in years.
I really like these vanilla bounties, I wish there was a contact that only gave out bounties for AI fleets.
derelicts really need a standard capital
Thats what the onbawd lookin one is I thought.
no that's some weird horror thing, fine as a one-off but stupid as a common model
Guardian is missile-oriented
ohhhhhh I see, you're afraid of multiple Guardians
What does that have to do with anything?
terrified of the pixels, you tedious homosexual
As you people should be. One doesn't need many pixels to look into you
is it wrong to want to shoot at something the size of a gate hauler? like it takes up half the battlefield and its just segment stacked on segment of hp, armor and guns
>they have the missile onbawd
>they need a standard capital
no, what they need is non-moronic missile builds
Apogee but IRL.
I liked rise of the triad.
It would be nice if You could order the AI core to hide, or even disconnect for some time because a hegemony inspection is coming. I know it defeats the point of Hegemony inspections, but you can already "try" to disconnect them before they come and AI hides itself. Since it can understand that me trusting the planet with it is best for me long-term, it should also understand that it trusting me to hide it from the Hegemony fricks when neither of us can reasonably defend yet.
"Would you like a dinner? Or a bath? Or perhaps me?"
Waifugayging aside, if I'm employing a guy that is wanted by the police, and we're both aware and in the clear of that fact, it would make sense to cooperate in avoiding the police. Trusting me is possible death, but trying to undermine me when there are hegemony fleets over the Colony is guarranted death either from the Hegemony hands or mine.
>Alpha, let it go, we need to cook
Clearly, but that's just writing issue, much like inability to ask the AI to return to captain's side to be together.
Are skills hard-coded?
The thing is the cores "build out" and entrench themselves as part of their control. They aren't walletsized little circles you just throw at a building. Kinda hard to just "hide"
That said, some sort of building that helped mask an AI core governor or AI cores in industries is a cool idea.
Yeah, I also think that yanking it out at the last second should be more disastrous, but having it "go to sleep"(i.e not touch the colony controls) while having a guy(or a few guys) take care of the controls and orders(on the surface according to an set on five-year-like plan, but in reality, doing what the AI wrote for them to do) in an office for a cycle or two, and the inspections would pobably report that your managers may be morons, but they're doing their jobs and you don't have any Ai's on the payroll/In closely guarded constantly monitored bunkers that they expect the terrifying AI to be held by, by anyone evil enough to use them.
It shouldn't be a one-and-done project, Even when the infrastructure is there and plans are there, you should start the hiding process and suffer maluses for it for months both before the AI is effectively hidden, and after it comes out of hiding. Hence the Hegemony still being annoying as frick to deal with if you use AI, without needing to swat them out of the space sky every time a high up bureaucrat feels like sending some overzealous employee to die.

In this scenario, can I come back to grab the xeno tech back after Inquisition is truly done with me and my chapter?
No idea, never played Chapter Master, heard it had a virus in it or some such. But hypothetically it should be possible.
I wish chapter master wasn't dead.
Can't one still find it on the net somewhere?
I hate AI so much. I also hate all oventoasterfrickers too. She's not your waifu, she's a spybot.
You know whats funny? They hate you more.
I love robots.
>think how great it'd be to hypothetically command a whole fleet of space vessels on comfy operations and not be alone
>remember that I'm bit antisocial
grrrrr
Imagine if Hegemony actually uses Alpha cores en-masse in secret too haha
Doesn't matter to anybody except maybe the Luddic Path (and they have a reason enough to frick up the Hegemony anyway), because nobody else bothers to do scumbag AI inspections, and then being butthurt when they are treated like hostile forces.
>Doesn't matter to anybody
kek yeah i'm sure there is no consequences to using AI cores long term to run human colonies.
t. Butlerian Jihadist
No more than what humans themselves can inflict upon their own, ultimately.
>t. has paid 0 attention to Starsector
There's little doubt that there were nice AIs too, of-course, and it's not improbable that isolated domain power remnant planets exist somewhere in the galaxy and enjoy nice life, it's a big place, and the setting is realistic rather than some cruel for its own sake story.
I don't like using Culture series as an example of AI niceness, but Culture series. Even OA. Halo too.
>I mean its possible that out of billions dead that 1 core was cool
Yeah I mean probably. He probably has a USB port to hook bongs up to as well.
Very low brow take, Anon.
>low brow
>t. unstoned ai core
I meant in the sense that whether they use them or not, none of the other (vanilla) factions will care any bit more, than they normally do to keep them in check.
It would become nothing more than a talking point for those who already want to rally against them, and be silently ignored by those who want to work with them.
Other than in game mechanic, I base that on the factions strictly do not want to cooperate with one another, and mostly do so out of cold calculations, rather than any principles
It's mostly due to Tri-Tac being idiots and leaving their pets unattended for centuries without a kill switch to go rabid. Thus Omega is not in the wrong here, it was just being nice to the abandoned creations (also I suspect the MC is actually an AI of similar level).
>putting kill switches on sapient beings
bleh
Remnants are not sapient beings. You're gaslighting yourself.
Excuse you, I'm "making myself insane"?
Yes. Computers are not people.
I mean you still do it normally as standard procedures...
>When emplaced, the core is required to be fitted with an entirely analogue loyalty-assurance device; usually this takes the form of a crude chemical explosive with a mechanical trigger.
This part always bothered me. I don't want to do that.
You have a better way to ensure that the hyperintelligent disco ball that you just ripped out of a hostile warship doesn't immediately frick you when it gets the opportunity anon?
And don't say "if I'm nice than surely it will like me and be nice :)", that's not how this works and you know it.
1)No AIs in the story are actually hyperintelligent.
2)Humanity is an infancy stage eldritch species.
3)I'm not bothered by entities smarter than me in the slightest, and if they're just we can get along with ease.
4)I can make my own AIs, were I to whip myself into shape.
And that's a simple example, just blow up the ship.
If the creature in question acts on reasons intrinsically incompatible with normal life or else, no amount of negotiations will matter.
You'd be a fool to rip it out in the first place, like dipping your hand into an acid tank.
>NOOO NOT MUH HEKKIN AIARINOS!! MUH ROBOT RIGHTS!!!!
I love robot characters, but you take it up the ass if you actually buy into that shit.
Big words from a biorobot sitting away from actually real P-space analogue. But I'm sure some elites would enjoy putting a kill switch into you, too.
Sticks and stones.
>Brooo, aren't you really just like a robot too when you think about it man?
You got your understanding of the world secondhand from reddit.
It would be way too much of a break from everything that we've been told about the player so far.
>Player is repeatedly described as physically interacting with people and meeting contacts in person
>Player has some sort of hoodoo-voodoo phase shit going on while AI go apeshit the minute they so much as smell that shit
>AIs have special skills that the player can't get, and can switch their normal skills whenever they want, which the player can't do.
Player may be some sort of snowflake space-whale touched space jesus, but definitely isn't an AI.
>1)No AIs in the story are actually hyperintelligent.
Alpha cores are explicitly described as such anon.
>2)Humanity is an infancy stage eldritch species.
By definition no, that isn't what that word means anon.
>3)I'm not bothered by entities smarter than me in the slightest, and if they're just we can get along with ease.
You seem to be missing the issue anon, any AI you employ in-game is going to be of sketchy, unclear loyalty by default, and has vastly more ability to frick with you than any other would-be traitor.
>4)I can make my own AIs, were I to whip myself into shape.
Then do it, and stop pillaging secondhand AIs and then wondering why everyone says not to trust them.;
Anon, that is litterally the way we get the vast majority of our AI cores in-game. To reject secondhand AI cores is functionally to reject AI technology entirely, the only factories still making the damn things in the sector are the same ones that keep programming them to be hostile and shitting out AI warfleets.
>It would be way too much of a break from everything that we've been told about the player so far.
The suggestion is that the player is "omega" and basically a human AI core. Its one of many reasons I just really don't like the "NO NO I AM SPECIAL" shit for starsector. It really doesn't fit the game at all. Also, the only real reason people think that the MC is an omega is the music, which Cotton hears as well and talks about. Which they always neglect.
>No but why the frick does the MC know about the Omega at that time
Same reason transverse jumping is a low level skill. Its shit you hear about in bars and learn from your crew when you're a captain for years.
>Same reason transverse jumping is a low level skill. Its shit you hear about in bars and learn from your crew when you're a captain for years.
Good point. Galatia quest stating that it's not a common thing is at first seems like fricking stupid idea. On the other hand, whole setting is technically one step from becoming space Mad Max, so it does kinda makes sense.
As discussed previously in these threads quite a few times the reason the academy baulk at you using troony jumps is they are not captains, have never piloted ships, and when they do have to go to a research station or something they pay people like the player to ferry them.
Its applied theory vs book learning.
Also like you said, its basically mad max tier shit, these people are hundreds of years out from connection to the domain and its tech. Imagine the shit the domain captains are up to considering those frickers made the gates.
>Imagine the shit the domain captains are up to considering those frickers made the gates.
OM NOM NOM
Ludd also heard the music, as per jeffQuest.
Also there are these subtle writeups about the MC's enhanced reflexes that you can consider meaning augmentations or something else.
The existence of big blue ball AI cores doesn't preclude the existence of AI in other forms, like imperceptible androids and such. Would feel like a cop-out if the PC/Cotton/Ludd were ones, though.
It just would fit the game world and how fricked everything is if you're just a good fricking captain instead of "omg I am the chosen one" like every other game. I also don't think that was alex's original intent either.
>and can switch their normal skills whenever they want, which the player can't do.
Except they can? It does require a Story Point, but they absolutely can.
>explicitly
While it's a fair point, I was mostly referring to actual hyperintelligence, but I'm biased by what I personally consider to be hyper-. It's an incredibly grand word to use lousy to anything less than utterly transcended entities.
>By definition no, that isn't what that word means anon.
Definitions of those ignorant of their species true potential do not matter, but this line has exhausted itself, so I'm dropping it.
>sketchy
So? It's more challenging this way? Why be so concerned with potential disloyalty? Just swap such a hypothetical AI with a hypothetical human, nothing changes. It's neither surprising nor concerning, and there are other smooth ways than to toss bombcollars around, like persuasion or schemes. Come now, don't be a savage.
>then do it
That's why you console add or save edit a number of AIs into your inventory after reaching a reasonable amount of money that'd take to create those AIs and research them, after making some colonies. Nice and story-consistent RP, I think.
I'm back.
>Anon, that is litterally the way we get the vast majority of our AI cores in-game.
Anon, a while a generalized AI core in a vacuum being stuck on some ship hostile to you is choice-wise equidistant, it's not unthinkable that some AIs be too antithetical to interact with in any timeframe, to the point that it's more wise to kill them.
Simultaneously, if some AI does not want to be on some hostile ship, it's stands to reason that they may possess more complex motivations, point is, treating a sapient being in terms of "may/will frick you over on some opportunity" is simply crude, diplomatically and survival suboptimal because you preemptively establish a "kill or be killed" conduct explicitly with "kill on button press" hierarchy dynamic as opposed to, say, "Should you cross me, we'll wage a honorable battle of wits", "scratch my back and I scratch yours", least of all "let's be honest partners" or "help me and I'll make an AI civilization where man and machine live together in love, justice and this weird item called sex, etc", assumes instant malice on AI part, assumes treating all explicitly in ruthless calculus, assumes loyalty to its own housing ship, and so on.
Tell chat gpt it did a bad job on this.
Gee, thanks. I guess I'll just hit a door on my way out.
>To reject secondhand AI cores is functionally to reject AI technology entirely, the only factories still making the damn things in the sector
You can always innovate, technically speaking.
Time for some cursed AI builds. Let's start by duct-taping a dozen delta-level AIs together and seeing what happens.
Why delta in particular?
Easy to get your hands on and won't get the hegemony looking at you funny.
I wouldn't be surprised if Hegemony has its own bad days on occasion that they'd will squint even on those.
Hegemony are the biggest users of AI cores
All the more reasons for them to look weird at you.
Anon everyone looks at you weird for reasons that are not ai core related...
Well, of-course they do. [VGTG]
I theorize computational-wise it's like a better and efficient Chat GPT. In a sense it's not really thinking, but merely setting up patterns and data.... Although the terminator drones on the other hand.
>Rumors about the core's AI intermittently exceeding the generally-allowed delta level during complex combat situations remain unproven.
a delta is just a computer processor. probably AMD, this is the persean sector after all.
They did go bonkers when Artemesia quit being CEO just after the first AI war ended
then the second AI war happened
then Artemesia got reinstated and ended the 2nd war
so yes most of TT is incompetent
they could've easily won too if they weren't so fricking dumb as seen with the player being easily steamrolling through pretty much every single faction in the game
>so yes most of TT is incompetent
As is standard for most big businesses who only care about the bottom line.
the big TT crisis resolution should've been the player commandeering the entire company and ousting Artemesia as the new CEO
Tri-o-Tachyon (ToT)
I hope taking over a faction would be implemented in future updates too, as just blowing their homeworld is fun but not long lasting.
>(also I suspect the MC is actually an AI of similar level).
This wasn't originally the intent but probably will now thanks to all the "I HAVE TO BE SPECIAL" homosexuals online. "yay"
It's not actually a bad plot idea.
Besides, you can always just tell them that they will never be real spaceship commanders.
Yes it is a bad plot idea, is the most generic boring power fantasy bullshit and its been done 700000000 times in games. Whats way rarer is you are just a normal human who has skill and put time in as a captain.
Wasn't or isn't it already? Because there was that one quest in Galatia Academy that makes you convince a Beta core for 1SP that you're Omega or acting in its orders (it just comes out of no where too). I'm not too sure if that quest was removed, but I always felt that was Devs trying to hint at the time.
Beta Cores aren't very smart, anon.
No but why the frick does the MC know about the Omega at that time, because it's not like common knowledge even to the higher ups? Either MC's connected, or like familiar with Domain level secret tech (which is also a possibility because there is a entry of someone waking up from cryosleep when the game starts).
Story points in conversations are just a charisma/speech skill check equiv. You're just smoothtalking something. In this case a very dumb computer.
>(also I suspect the MC is actually an AI of similar level)
This was my headcanon for a while. That the MC was the true Omega Core the whole time.
Think about it. Even in a purely vanilla sense, how many other officers can go beyond level 7? Even Alpha Cores can only reach level 8 after being integrated into a ship.
What you really need to ask yourself is WHY the space brazillians want AI cores so badly.
(psst its because they use them and their empire is ran by tthem)
[REDACTED]
That's against Protocol!
One thing that's interesting about Sentinel is that if you actually tell about it to the Heges it becomes a Frontier Hege colony. If you have your own colony near it your accessibility goes up as much as if you built it on a core system.
>he doesn't know about the Hegemony Automated XIV fleet and the dropped AI core when you blow up their stations
>on ALL their stations
I don't blow up their stations on principle. They ain't too bad folks. Not good, but not terrible either. Mostly. Well, arguably mostly.
BTW vanilla bros, what are you guys using to replace the monitor? I found the SO'd shade pretty okay as a decoy. The [REDACTED]'s kinda moronic and prioritize recapturing points, so you can kite a fleet by having your Shade going 280 capturing a point then disengage to capture another.
>hand over some Legio officer to my crew

How's the Hiver Swarm mod?
>Dazs
Good concept, poor execution.
They're a "boss" faction that starts in the bumfrick corner of the sector and they are relentless and ruthless with their invasions, raids, and satbombing of the core worlds as early as the first cycle of the game, and the rest of the sector literally does not give enough of a shit to do anything about it (you will not have enough time to build up funds and relationships with other factions to help take them down with how disgustingly aggressive Hivers are). You have to scramble as soon as the game starts just to have a good enough fleet to resist them in time (and even then, it might still not be enough), and when you actually head over to their systems you'll find multiple planets with Star Fortresses piloted by Alpha cores and numerous fleets with capital spam, where taking them down is more tedious than difficult.
Also their ships are hideous.
>Also their ships are hideous.
And they somehow used to be even worse. I don't even think Dazs actually made the new sprites.
Dazs was handed full sets of replacement sprites made free of charge in an effort to make Hivers at least tolerably hideous by multiple modders on multiple occasions.
The original sprites were taken straight from the public-use sprite scrapyard on the forum, just like every other mod of his.
I like Sunder.
The new Escort Package made it probably my favorite ship to pilot.
>Escort Package

While riding my Onbawd's thick, juicy ass, I need to pan the camera all the way just to see what my Tachyon Lance is hitting.
I love it. Snipeder my beloved.
2250 Range Beam... Now one thing left is to hope some fricking frigate won't go across the line to come kill that glass canon.
Just send a dozen phase and blink ships.
I personally use Extended Shields and Hardened Shields to keep it from being overwhelmed by flanks. S-Modded Escort Package also decreases Shield damage taken by a flat 10%. Coupled with Sunder's pretty decent Flux stats, I'm rarely ever in trouble unless I play like shit and overextend into a massive fighter squad (which does happen because I suck).
Onslaught, but high tech line/Paragon textured and 2 times longer than it is, appropriately proportioned too to be pointy.
And slap a Tri-Tac symbol on it too somewhere.
And make it a carrier too.
So an Astral?
Not-Astral, and thicker. Meatier.
Really meatier.
>there's an ore refining mod to save cargo space
why did no one tell me about this...
Cause that's cheatmodding
I have mentioned it before, anon
The one I use uses heavy machinery and its basically just storage compression, it sells for the same cost of the macinery +ore. Makes it worth taking the thousands of ore that drops when exploring (also makes mining runs viable)
i use the one from prv starworks which turns ore and rare ore into metal and transplutonics
Have anyone ever told those particular mentally unhealthy modders that they're being unhealthy? Or they don't listen?
BANNED from all discords and the forums for wrongthink.
Ah.
I see it's not doable without heavy guns. Yeah, I see, I see.
Just get some rope you'll be fine.
What tech do muhreenes use? Power armor ala SC or it's just some bulky normal armor with bit big guns?
exosuits, big badda booms, all kinds of shit:
>Heavily armed and equipped with powered armor, marines specialize in breaching and boarding disabled ships and providing security for planetside operations.
Just like heavy weapons are mech suits and railguns and shit.
>Armaments ranging from heavy squad-level weapons to mechs, tanks, and hovercraft. Private use is banned on most worlds.
Its literally power armor as can be seen here
>go on an analyze mission
>arrive at the location
>can't find mission
>kill myself
I've hit rock bottom. Either the mission bugged out with all my mods or I didn't accept it. Time to mine some asteroids and hope for the best...
Well shit...
Do you have any mining lasers, blasters, or anything that says its mining related from mods that you could install?
I found a derelict ship that I stole with a story point. I'm going to build up my freighter/mining fleet 10 credits at a time
Always remember you can scuttle ships.
Perhaps it's time to retire, captain? Become a civilian?
>pirates and terrorists attack without even detecting you
Is this part of Ruthless Sector? This is kinda dumb
Which mods are the least memory consuming?
Instead of being able to have just a couple S mods, it should be being able to S mod as much as you can within X amount of OP
Maybe I should just play Aurora 4x... does it have an endgame?
Had an idea for a mod I was thinking of.
>fighting a large faction of robots (they're not reskinned alpha cores, promise)
>one of them defects to your side
>can interact with Sierra, Alviss, Midnight Dissonant, and even Gargoyle
>has a total of 20 officer skills
The downside is that each skill comes with a negative, but they're nullified if you have certain hullmods installed. For example, one skill gives all weapons 150% extra ammo and a boost in power, but decreases combat readiness by 50%, unless the ship in question has hardened subsystems installed. Then it's only 25% (10% if it's s-modded)
What do you think?
Nifty but exhausting to make, most assuredly.
Also it would be be better to make hull mods with negatives that are then nullified with skills instead, more logical that way too.
You don't fix skill issues with your ship, you make ship better with your skill.
Plus what
said. Unless you lack basic discipline to complete your work, you won't make it.
On the plus side, if I don't finish, I'll at least get to have a patented Starsector modder Meltdown™ due to being unable to comprehend rules.csv, complete with an unnecessary ban from the discord because I accidentally bring up r*pesector in the middle of a heated argument with Nia.
I'm excited.
You should definitely do something anyhow. But just know anything besides ships and whatnot becomes infuriating fast. Start with some simple shit just to get a feel for how it works.
I'd question why do you use discord app in any way at all too, if I were you, it's unsightly.
didn't you hear, it's okay to use discord now
even rapesector uses it
It's never okay to use it, no matter where or when.
you will burn out before getting half way through the skill/hullmod list

Alright, I think I got the gay chemicals out of the system. I will now proceed to go back to thinking about writing smut of overworked IS girls using a trustworthy subordinate to release their pent-up stress.
That should straighten things again.
Excellent work, soldier.
While I was semi-joking, the whole idea actually did get me thinking a lot. Although I'm not quite confident whether or not my writing would be up to RSdev's standards.
There was also that short chain of ideas about how (you) keep gifting her cakes so any of the girls end up giving you a cake treat back. The cake being herself of course.

weird thing to post in a starsector thread about anon
Is Dominator even good at anything besides being torpedo bait
Treat it like an Onbawd-lite. It's an armor slab with devastating frontal firepower. I have seen some extreme long range versions with Gauss Cannons to pressure shield heavy capitals, but honestly a solid build is slapping hellbores on and either putting torps to rape exposed hull, sabots to shit on shields, or annihilators to pressure in the missile slots. Put PD in the rest of the slots and buff range and armor as much as you can.
>hellbores
>on anything ever
Hellbore is good on the Manticore
I have a hard time with them, but go devastators, vulcans, and reapers work well. S-mods feel required for fancier builds.
Which ships would women prefer then?
Mora because both are useless
You take that back, moras are great for the Ziggy boss fight

Why, though?

Anyone has the Sunderest pics?
Ships are referred to as being female because if they were male ships then it'd be gay as frick.
It wouldn't be, not really, and some ships are named as male, or otherwise not sexually differentiated.
Being inside another man is hella gay, bro. I don't know what to tell you.
Not everything has to be sexual, anon!
Men can carry their battle brothers on their back.
Yeah. On their back. Not in their cargo hold.
Stop foolishly applying human sexual topology where it does not belong, such associative reasoning is a sign of an impure mind.

why pirates even try to kill you
why none of them want grab your supplies/credits and just bail
are they moronic
Probably due to corrupt social mores in the sector at large, as well as probably pressure between ruthless, wanton and worthless pirate heads punishing failure (whom are simultaneously hired by official polities and thick wallets so they're extra hard on their own troops) and equally harsh official responses from some polities.
Sector is many things but respectable romantic piracy doesn't seem to be one of them.
it doesn't make sense
why waste resources on attacking the enemy fleet if you can threaten them, demand a tribute and then bail? you would end up with net positive without any personnel and equipment losses.
they loose nothing and you get a convinient way to make fleets frick off, they should only attack if you refuse
It's likely due to gameplay, really. Something that anyone can shoot at.
That should have been the cultist. When you look at irl history Pirates Thieves Smugglers Buccaners almost always try to avoid fighting as there usually aren't people don't obey them because of their "honor" or "dignity", meaning all the fighting gives you is losses and bogger target on your back, while cultists, And I don't mean broadly Religious people like some moron in one of these thread , but the actual "Propaganda of the deed" fricks, like ones who attack the same ships that Somalians do but from Oman and became a problem Somali pirates never were, like most of Crusaders, like some radically antireligious AnarchoNihilists , like the Unabomber or the IRA, the guys who fight, kill, destroy, because they have something to prove or call attention to and barely care who they're targeting, would make a way more sensible punching bags.
And would give an explanation as to how they can amass forces despite being constantly kicked around.
Frick I'm tired, I reread this post, and it's barely readable. Frick me for writing before coffee kicked in and I could see when deleting/rewriting a word fricks up the entire sentence.
TL:DR Cultists should be more unhinged in game than pirates, as they're a militiant group united only by a cause

Readable enough for me, it's no big deal. I'm always amused by those who complain about supposedly unparseable posts, it makes me wonder if they actually read them.
While I see your point, is it right to call them cultists, though? Occult is that which is obscured, a publicly understood typical tendency of cults to maintain certain aggressive conduct is just a control mechanism.
With how many schemers there are in the sector, such zeal is easy to exploit, and easy to spin out of control, so simultaneously one can posit that pirate numbers are being artificially increased just to ensure there's always a stable supply of cheap morons to toss at someone.
Of-course, piracy has to be profitable somehow, otherwise why would anyone even continue with it, if pirates are deliberately compromised to be cheap shock troops?
Anyway, ironically it actually is best for Luddites to be as they are, because their cause is transcendent, and if Ludd was an AI, all the more so. They aren't in it for the profit, but for life, ruthless and suboptimal as they are. Perhaps even a high tech Inquisition style branch too.
I assume they're called cultist from the "Cult of Peronality" meaning(Basically Saint worship, renamed), taking over the meaning of the word "Veneration" with negative/radical connotation
end of 20th and 21st century taught us that state and faction politics, especially the "pragmatist" approach (As in Realpolitil school of thought about foreign policy, not pargmatic as in focused problem-solving) really sucks at dealing with interstate and interfactional actors, in big size because there isn't one entity to negotiate with, threaten or expect stuff from. When some radical outlaws hiding in a colony sent raiding fleets at you, do you threaten the colony? the faction the colony belongs to? the faction that's most closely ideologically associated with the culprits? They didn't organize nor arm these frickers, their actions against you are a consequence idealistic cells like thie ones that set up this one being set up and spread by this faction long before any of them spread to here, or you were at any way in anybody's plans and concerns.
It requires dealing with swaying crowds and populations, instead of reasonable actors (because while a person might act or react reasonably, a distribution/average of people doesn't have the consistency of values and trust to also do so)
I don't think it's wise to use 20th and 21st centuries as examples of political expertise paragons in spite of back then greater competence per se due to actors of lacking character optimizing the environment to their pursuits but that said, realpolitic doesn't exactly exist in a vacuum, no?
There ought to be some rationale and set of ideals pertaining to polity, otherwise it's just a protracted campaign of foreign policies based on some historically temporary, ultimately pointless pursuits, and as total application of capitalism to anything erodes and possibly kills the spirit, the polity in question becomes less of a nation and more of a value extraction mechanism with pretenses wholesale, but I digress.
>outlaws
Technically it's a spec ops field, because cell structures are by nature isolated. Overt pressure on supposed funding polity won't work without some serious levers, otherwise it'll be like modern day word masturbation, everyone knows who's responsible for what but everyone tip toes around and keeps on fricking things up.
Meanwhile, those crowds may have actual reasonable actors behind them down some line, whom can be reached out to, potentially.
Yep, but probably spawning a temporary faction to pertain with for every luddic (or other) cell to either pertain with or exterminate wouldn't be reasonable in-game, inless it's coded to have dynamic or temporary factions in the first place.
Both internal and external "small" opponents aren't usually coded well in either gsgs or 4X's
Ah, my bad, I took cultist literally.
its almost like they aren't actually terrorists.
No one would let them be that either. If Luddites were to go over the line that much, they'd be killed by just about anyone.
You can actually drop cargo to distract them.
For the lulz.
>pirates behave like a suicidal religious fanatics, rushing into battle even against much greater odds
>suicidal religious fanatics behave like pirates, demanding payment to leave you alone
Nice game design
>fix this
>pirates become much easier to befriend and you can further break the game
Alex should fix pirate/parter markets being money printers at last.
Don't care what he does. Still going to befriend Pirates every playthrough.
Frick taxes. Free sector for the free people.
>"free" people
>instantly chooses to side with slaves to cruelty and their own desire
>instantly assumes taxation to be corrupt as a concept, withstanding corruption yet to be stopped in polities
You aren't merely a parasite, you're a hypocrite as well.
How's that Hegemonkey boot taste? You sound like a bigger drone than anything Tri-Tach could make.
>instantly assumes taxation to be corrupt as a concept
Taxation is theft.
The world you walk upon has been built by others, anon, do you think it's going to maintain itself?
Pirates aren't that anymore though. They're just Kanta's bootlickers now (or atleast the bootlickers heavily outnumber the rest). If I wanted to lick ex-domain boot I'd have stuck with the heggies, they keep it regulation polished atleast.
Oldgay playing new release here, when and why was large energy slot on Sunder removed?
What the frick is this the whole ship was basically built around it
That's a lot of time, damn.
its only the double d sunder you get from the first pirate battle in the tutorial
Why is it double d
I had to use one of those story points to recover it and its a fricking sunder without the main point of sunder?
Whos idea was this
Sunder double d sexo
double d for a double dose of pimpin
Im slightly mollified by the fact that I found a random Sunder wreck the moment I entered hyperspace for the first time
I'm on the latest release and it still has the large energy slot.
In fact I was just gushing about it earlier.
>1000 range
>25-second flight time on every cft missile
>very fast flight speed
>good tracking
This guy is an absolute moron. There was even a Reddit post 5 months ago complaining about the missiles, but he still refused to open up the weapon.csv and tweak a few numbers
I think it's missed potential that one can't drop one's ships in any direction on the battle map, ditto for enemy ships.
You can, though in a very limited capacity.
When pursuing enemy fleets while they try to flee, you can drop Frigates on the left or right side of the map.
I know, but it's really limited indeed.
Also a bit silly, on one hand it makes sense perfectly, but it also is somewhat lacking, because if you can pinch your targeted fleet at all in position that's arguably faster to reach than when you were meeting them head-on, why not do that since the start?
>at all in position that's arguably faster
*harder to reach
all i ask is to be allowed to deploy WIDE
More precise formation patterns, please!
is there a mod that shows all your ships' hull and shield statuses during battle?
The colony crises seems a bit disjointed and forced in as an endgame challenge in that your relationship in the faction has nothing to do with what happens, they're spawning huge armadas to frick with you even with 95 rep and a commission
I wish it was a bit more reactive and dynamic, maybe scale the crisis point game down (which I think contributes to the chance table of what crisis you draw at 500+ points) with positive relationship
I will end hegeBlack folk
orange faction bad
>new game
>restore jump point in tutorial
>immediately take up hegemony commission
>attack every pirate, pather and any other enemy of hegemony until cooperative
>buy multiple onslaughts
>start colony in a hegemony system
>retire from commission after colony maxes out
>live out retirement exploring the galaxy, maxing out reputation with all factions
comfy life
>start colony in a hegemony system
The only one that's actually worth colonizing in a Hege Core is Yami, Naraka or Agreus, Arcadia... Although you can do Pontus, Galatia just be close to your friends and be an ass to Baird.
>The only one that's actually worth colonizing in a Hege Core is Yami, Naraka or Agreus, Arcadia
I colonize the first barren rock with at least -1 ores/rares on it and no atmosphere. Here's Warion from Corvus system. Even without AI cores it was making 250k+ per month which more than covered all my fleet fuel/supplies.
How are you even creating and exporting that many ores?
>-1 base
>+3 mantle bore
>+6 colony size
>+1 admin
>+1 AI core
* +4 colony size
Ah, I forgot it also scaled off colony size.
It's kinda silly that this one shitty rock with barely any ores on it is responsible for ~40% of global sector market share in practically all it produces.
its not.
>"their extraction is barely economical"
>39% of all existing spaceship hulls, supplies, heavy machinery and heavy armaments is built from it.
I guess the market share doesn't represent actual share in terms of usage.
Even in vanilla that isn't 40% of market share.
Vanilla, what specifically are you referring to?
That isn't ore.
>ore
I guess you misread what I wrote. Neverthelessever, here's some fun stats.
>ore 25%
>rare ore 29%
>refined metal 35%
>transplutonics 39%
>fuel 53%
>supplies/machines/hulls/arms 38%
Great. Do you feel fulfilled?
>Isildur.jpg
>this guy: "what the frick noah why am I being blockaded?"
Could be higher if they put story points into it.
More ore is required.
>tfw can't mine gold
That's a pretty homely planet.
Normal women, chubby women, muscular women or muscular chubby women?
yeah
muscular women
Are there any mods that allow one to hire or redeem pirate officers and fleet to one's side permanently?
How would Hegemony act were an actual inheritor to the Domain (complete with effortless recognition by any Domain AI systems, old system codes, star charts, etc) were to appear in the Sector?
Or just not-exactly-Domain compliant entity with similar access level.
If they stayed true to their cause, they revert control to those authorities. However, the Domain fricking dead somehow, as they couldn't reach back for two centuries even with their tech-level.
More likely they aren't dead they just don't care about some shithole fringe wasteland that lost its connection to their gate networks.
>tfw Persean sector is just a private Tri-Tachyon project
>collapse is a lie
What's the newest version of Sephira Refits? For some reason, Version Checker is saying it's 1.6b but I can't find that anywhere online. I don't even know what it's checking against seeing as there's no forum or download link.
What the frick is this mimikko mod
Why the frick are the "girls" all actually MEN
even the officergeneration class file mentions Gender.MALE on every single one of them in the jar files
what the frick
>Why the frick are the "girls" all actually MEN
he doesn't knoah
Its from the chinese starsector community not USC
Bruh Officer gender can be set to MALE or FEMALE
EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER IN HERE IS MALE FROM THE GAME'S PERSPECTIVE DESPITE THE NARRATION AND DIALOGUE ALL CLAIMING THEM AS WOMEN
Well, if it's Chinese it can just be a translation blunder then.
they turned the bugmen trans too.
Bugmen?
bugmen.

Taiwan is a good country
You're not Chinese, Right ?
I don't think it's actually possible to generate a faction with only one gender. Even Yuri Expedition has to have 'men'.
Starship Legends is a great mod.
Can one edit ship reputation hullmod somehow?
>8 maximum burn
The more I look at this mod's balance, the more pissed of I get
sounds like a you problem, romanian
What the frick is up with your obsession with Romanians? Did you get touched in your private places by one?
>actual schizo meltdown
I'm so confused about that guy.
I'm mocking this sperg above who always talks about "SEABlack folk" in every thread and gets bootyblasted by the same shit every thread. If you've been around in these threads at all you'd recognize him.
You aren't mocking anybody if you just reply to random posts with your inane schizobabble and then say you're actually pretending to be someone else. Who the frick even thinks that way?
>no no you're not mocking you're replying to random posts I swear even though I do the same thing thread after thread and ALWAYS cry whenever someone mentions CFT every time.
kek ok buddy moron is not you.
It's probably Dazs, asspained that someone doesn't like his shitty mods.
See this is what I'm talking about kek
dude has boogeymen in his head
>CFT Midline
>blue text
>ship is grey and red and blocky
CFTs default faction colors on the map layer are red and white
Prometheus and Atlas have Base 6 no?
Yes. It doesn't make sense that these massive chunks of metal all have 8 base speed.
The capitals that have over 8 natural burn is Radiant, Nova (insane 9), Conquest, or Retribution. The only one that's actually broken is Radiant, and the rest has shit armor and shit shield for speed & cost. So I agree that a fricking capital logistic tanker/carrier doing 8 is stupid from both economical and tactical perspective.
its a giant liquid fuel booster rocket
Anon this setting uses radioactive anti-matter for fuel. Liquid fuel is like ancient tech at this point.
Tell modmakers that then.
Stable antimatter probably isn't radioactive and technically antimatter can be in any state of matter, just with reverse polarity.
Anon-kun, antimatter fuel is in widespread usage, it's not that unthinkable.
>is stupid from both economical
Is it? Slow ships are easy to shoot down, pirates swim around, and so on.
Oddysey too. Dragon Dildo, my beloved.
I always forget about the Odyssey, as it's so rare to find one exploring or in the market. Technically you can apparently buy it in Culaan Black Market sometimes, but I have yet to see one myself.
I still don't understand that ship. The asymmetric design doesn't do it any justice either
It's better, or easier at least, to use than the conquest. It's meant to go around and hug the enemy to one-side while your bombers qive you near instant rearmament for infinite torpedoes.
Externally it's segment-based like a submarine, but in description it's like a military-research yacht.
Basically it's an all-purpose luxury capital warship for rich eccentrics.
And yet it somehow costs less than a flying brick.
its a really big brick
As much as I love the mod, Carters' Freetraders is indeed busted. Their Capital Ships are obscene for their cost, like the big flying circular brick that has a built-in superlaser that one shots all frigates and cruisers from half a map away.
Can't beat A-Wing with SO. Just you watch!
All of Dazs shit is fricking broken as frick
ok you feel better now?
It's a shame. The idea is there, but the balance isn't.
>8 base speed
>10 with civilian hull
>13 with augmented drive (s)
It's a bit too much
Well, if I piloted such a tanker I sure would like that speed!
having to pay the drive field tax for utility ships is annoying tbh
moving sub 20 is not an option
Then put some augmented drive fields on and/or grab some tugs like the rest of us, cheatmodding scrub.
Don't just handwave a logistics ship to be better than everything else for 'convenience' reasons.
ModBlack folk deserve the rape.
Is your life so pathetic that you put that much value into a single player game? Loser.
Yes, yes it is.
I'm probably worth more than your entire cheatmodding shitter family, but that's pretty irrelevant in talking about a single player Java game.
Possibly. My parents own multiple properties that I'm going to inherit as an only child in a first-world country, I'm working on my master's degree and I'm going to use my father's connections to land a decent job, but that's beside the point, right?
i dont use dazs garbage im just pointing out that drive field is not a fun addition to the game
by the time i have actual combat shipts that would need drive field to hit 20 i just dump a bunch of tugs into my fleet
The base speed is the least of the ships issues. It's all the other stats.
Same fuel use. Same supply use. But a frick ton more OP, couple fighter bays and Destroyer tier combat speed for... Reasons.
imo, the fighter bays are the ships biggest issue though. The supply and recovery costs alone make this supposed support ship a drop-in replacement for the Drover at almost twice the durability.
Balancing combat logistics ships is hard, but this dude doesn't even bother trying.
>he uses logi ships in combat other than mules
no. bad anon.
But muh apogee
Thats a bit different, that thing is just weird and fun.
apogee isn't a logi ship
apogee is a champion but hightech
Champion has extra umph with it High Energy Focus, and can do Plasma Assault if 1800 Range Beam Turret isn't your thing though.
>SO
Here's that (You) you so desperately want.
The fuel capacity says logistics ship, but the hangars and deployment points scream escort carrier.
And you scream most likely to learn how to make a noose in 2024 but who is asking?
it's also just a better version of the condor
>85 top speed
lol
>Persean League comes knocking for their taxes
>18 fricking fleets circling my jump point
>Delete their supply fleet
>They all scatter
Well that was anti climactic.
Emergency hyperjump now!
whoops sorry some random pather interdicted a single salvager nearby, you gotta wait for your cooldown.
FRICK
>it's actually Dazs
ok matdamon
We never should have given turd-world ESLs access to the internet.
We implies you had any saying on the matter to begin with.
Plus it's a moot point, considering that the West is the primary source of all pop-culture on the planet, and plays one of major parts in all linguistic pollutions. What's that phrase, don't spit against the wind? Yeah, don't.
>no no it is I who am not third world even though I have 0 idea what the frick "third world" even means in any context
It hurts my head just reading his posts
Can we just ignore this threadshitter and move on?
You can ignore yourself at any time.
Odysseus is a sexy ship.
>someone makes post lightly criticizing CFT
>some moron starts calling him a romanian seanig
>he's also pretending to be someone else for some reason
>but apparently we're the ones seething
Take notes, this is what actual schizophrenia looks like.
>box shadows every thread
>say the same shit anytime specific mods are mentioned no matter what is said about them
>always cry about the same countries and say the same shit about "esl" this and "esl" that despite hardly being able to put together their thoughts
Take notes, this is what actual third world status looks like.
Literally none of this is true.
>Literally none of this is true.... except the part where you can see it happening in this thread and the last 10-20 before this one on /vst/
See, all I can infer from this is that you're a brown Dazs fanboy
You know I used to like mechs. I still do, but I used to, too.
Okay anon, I'm curious. What happen Arma in the newest update. Did they became a faction?
Pre .97 they made the MRC a "pirate/terrorist" faction that hates tt and ArmaA are a subfaction of Indy now with rep and 2 questgivers (1 of which you can take on as a pilot and has unique skills)
The MRC are in the sleeper system and basically instadie as they only have one fort and really want to kill people. I had fun saving them from themselves a few times, one of which I colonized and gave the whole Nekki system to them that they start in so they could privateer properly.
"Used to?"
Anyone else who wanted original portraits to retain their style but actually be properly symmetrical?
So which one of these are well balanced and bring value into the game?
Unironically nah
Obviously All of Them.
But they're only balanced as a set
apocrita with the exception of one ship which has a built in laser cannon that is op
imperium
iron shell
mayasura with the exception of one ship that the ai doesnt ever use so can be ignored
p9 colony group for cool concept of low flux cap but high flux dissipation for glass cannon ships
prv starworks
san iris for cool ocean creature ships
scy nation
diable with the latest patch not 2.8.0 that one autist keeps recommending
underworld is underpowered if anything because its pirate shit boxes
volkov is possibly a bit overtuned in some parts but the cool factor balances it out
xhan empire with the exception of the dreadnought and the special ship you can get from the top left corner of the map
these also happen to be on my faction mod list because of my superior tastes
Mayasura should be the first mod you download every time. Rhea with ballistic rangefinder, integrated targeting, and escort package alongside a sturdy capital like onslaught gives you the semi-mpbile broadside the Conquest should have been from the start. And don't even get me started on the Vishnu with every weapon set to maximum bullet hell. Feels good.
Legacy of Arkgneisis has cool ships but their capital is nigh impossible to capture due to stupid defense buffs
Roider union has good, balanced ships in style of vanilla (some of them kitbashed)
How do you get that new Valken Cataphract from Arma? The one that's supposed to be the upgrade to the model you find in Nekki? And is there any benefit to selling it to Arma Armatura?
The new valk is from giving the sleeper to ArmaA but I think its only in .97+ because I have the factions but could never get the new ship from it, just money.
>The new valk is from giving the sleeper to ArmaA
Already gave it to them. Is there an event I'm supposed to trigger afterward? All she does is lowball me 150k in credits, or 300 if I insist on higher payment.
Same thing happened to me, tried getting the main lady's rep up and even at 100 nothing happened.
Were you one day to wake up in the sector, how'd you rate your survival chances and what would you do? Note that any meta knowledge likely won't surprise high tier AIs.
About 0% because I'd join up with the path ASAP.
And here's my beautiful endgame Oddysey.
>uncapped caps
>hardened shields
homie what you doin
He could be focusing on vent time. Adding caps means venting takes longer. While hardened shields aren't as efficient for shield health as adding more caps, it doesn't affect venting. For the odyssey venting is important as it plasma burns in at low flux, then plasma burns out at high flux, vents, and repeats.
Thoughts on Hazard Mining Incorporated?
your mod sucks
its bloat
Too many recolored vanilla ships.
>the guy that is triggered by the mere existence of dazsezes mods returns
kek
I just want a truly full fleet complement per each faction, not just a bunch of ships. High tech line needs more!
Kim Quy is based on Timid's IRL mom CONFIRMED
I might have to give this Kim Quy a visit with my military pals
Don't bother reading this, it's just more high school drama shit.
>the mod targets characters modeled
after real life friends of other modders, even after being told not to
>even after being told not to
>told no to
>its the gameplay and the reward
But the reward is making possibly future officer worse. Or a minor pop growth boost in exchange for speedrunning -100 relations with a faction, and deleting officer skills over time.
Those are not rewards, those are sandbox options. Even from a metagay viewpoint, endless headpatting and actual hand-holding is more beneficial than getting that gear in the rear from the get-go.
>"Well yeah you could do that, but other than maybe having a laugh, you will get jack shit while the other option gives you really cool stuff and more"
Not to mention that the non-rape parts are more fleshed out and have more writers than the struggle snuggle parts.
Very much true, and from perspective of pisscord server there are a lot of new writers, and most older ones(ei Original writegay, UAF writegay and PAGSM writegay) are currently working on the wholesome parts instead of the grape.
we will momrape the evil modder
>we

I've found my calling. I'm gonna make the largest mining fleet the world has ever seen and consume all the supplies and fuel in the sector
Holy frick have a nice day.
What's with the screeching about SO? What, can't handle a REAL ship?
>he needs SO
You didn't beat the game.
>beating Starsector

I just kill ships. They keep on coming, I keep on killing. They keep on coming.
This game doesn't have any meaningful ends to my liking.

Right sure yep I believe you anon 100%
Believe what you want, gramps. Just don't forget to sprinkle some oil on your crusty game beating bones!
Mmmmhm yep yep yep. Sure sure. Totally.
Geriatrics who don't pilot their ships themselves (yes, there are people who right click on tac map more than pilot in real time)
Most people do that until they discover the light of Ludd... or bend to the temptation of phase ships and reapers. Also post 0.95 I don't trust COMs with missiles, like they don't go full salvo like 0.91. Probably due to Alex adding laser missiles.
Can't imagine playing this game without personally flying a pirate falcon in every engagement.
Are you in the sect of 4 x Proximity Mines or Reapers?

If I sell a Corrupted Nanoforge to a market for them to use then later sell a Pristine Nanoforge to the same market, will the Corrupted Nanoforge be replaced?
Yes
Thats how it works
But you need to sell it on their Open Market
Black Market does nothing to colony items
Yes, I know how markets get colony items. I just didn't want to potentially lock a colony out of a Pristine Nanoforge if they already have a Corrupted one.
What had happened with redacted in the last few two patches? I never had so much trouble with radiants as I do now. Has Alex or Nex changed their design?
some AI tweaks helped them, officers are stronger than ever, and deployment order is now shuffled (they used to deploy their reinforcements in the worst order possible)
I think I managed to ungay-ify that mimikko mod but i'm not sure where to upload it so people can see if it crashes or something
mediafire?
went with catbox instead
https://files.catbox.moe/dwdnag.zip
What mod it is, actually?
Didn't try Mimikko mod in starsector yet, explain?
adds a bunch of chinese AI(?) characters as officers for you
they're all written off as women in dialogue but ingame data literally as them generated as MALE officers instead of FEMALE
changing it from MALE to FEMALE via decompiling the jar and fixing the appropriate lines was a huge pain in the ass since inteliJ kept giving me errors when recompiling it when changing the lines shouldn't have broken anything
chinese shit translated by a USCgay to english recently
>he still thinks they weren't trannies
>ingame data literally as them generated as MALE officers instead of FEMALE
Oh, I played rimworld mimikko mod, but I didn't try the Ssector one yet so i didn't understood the "ungayiffy" part, and wanted to know whether to get the original or yours (i dl'd both), as if it was something like a balance changes, Idgaf (I don't really minmax, and the game doesn't force me too either) Thanks anon for your work, know that you're appreciated
Only reason I tried to do it is so I can actually give them headpats using WholesomeSector Mod since it wouldn't let you do that if they were men
The solution is obvious. Ditch PD and just zoom around missiles and fighters anon.
meaningful penalties add more interesting decisions than trivial bonuses
How do I get rid of Luddic majority if the colony is already at max size?
anyone got the UAF queen greentext saved somewhere? lost my main drive and lost it
I think I pretty much did everything I could in my first serious game after restarting for wasting storypoints on bullshit. Explored everywhere, have colonies beat the crisis’ and stuff. I didn’t even know you could get redacted ships so I reset my skills and now I’m rolling with an ai fleet. Not a bad game at all, doubt I’ll use any mods because they all sound awful based on the sperging commentary around it
How do you lose a hard drive are you moronic?
I took it.
>doubt I’ll use any mods because they all sound awful based on the sperging commentary around it
There's lots of great mods. This place, in Ganker fashion, just has hyperfixation on the bad ones because there's more to "talk about", especially when it comes to backstage drama, which Ganker also loves to hyperfixate on.
In short, the traditional Ganker attitude of contrarianism. Seriously, reddit's got a bunch of sycophants and yes-men while Ganker's the polar opposite.
it stopped working
i didn't just forgot where i left it
The gnomes stole my harddrive anons, The GBI impounded it.
Cool ship.
I wish there were more all around exploration/salvage/mining type flagships. Closest to what I want has been the anchor class from missing ships but the thing is a bit too overpowered (in a fun way) also you cant deploy anything with it kek
Ok what mod is it from?
Vayra's Ship Pack
I cut that from my list and I forget why.
Well, for one, it hasn't been updated since 0.9.1a.
kek hmm maybe thats a factor was like "its been awhile why don't I use that again?"
Yeah that makes sense
there's a bootleg update for 0.96 in Vayra's thread
https://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=16059.msg413343#msg413343
I made a bootleg myself too
but with the added bonus of having all the mining weapons turned to hybrid so you can put it in any energy or ballistic slots
literal troony modder?
No no that would go in the name part of your post.
Was he like that a few years ago?
I hate broadside ships so goddamn much.
Call it a skill issue, I just can't fricking use them.
My hats off to the people who can.
>both cryosleepers spawn in the same constellation
frick
*bricks your save*
explain it to me like i'm noah
So people. They have memories, you know? Various details about them. Their name, their job, what they did recently, what they are. A certain gay made the great decision to look through all the memories of all the people in the world, and he is looking for all the people with a a certain memory.
What does he do with those people? He deletes all of their memories. Sure, these people won't function any more, thus of course causing a lot of other things, everything really, to stop working, but oh well.
Worse than that. If he finds a single person with that specific memory, he wipes the memories of everyone in the world.
Let me guess
It's looking for something from Rapesector
its actually looking for something from CAPTURE CREWS
which ALSO AFFECTS TNP BECAUSE HE BASED IT FROM THAT THING
wouldnt this kill rsector-lite?
It does, yes
he's basically shooting himself in his own balls
honestly, the fact that he added it in and it actually worked is amazing. seemingly everything else he does fails to work as intended, so I'm happy he finally got a W.
on a side note, did he have to download the rapesector mod to test to make sure it worked? he would almost have to right?
He wants to keep it for himself
lmao
was it 2.8.3 that he added the crashcode to?
it was as far back as 2.8.1
And he pushed out a update that removed the crash code.
Guess Alex got pissy over Matt trying to nuke his side project.
>thread on forums is still not nuked
>matt keeps making up more and more schizo reasoning for his crashcode
AIIIEEEE hartley stop this man
>JUST started another playthrough
>now I have to update Diable because Matt is an idiot who tried to put in crash code against Rapesector
>if I don't update, it could brick my whole save
I am really getting pissed right now.
>needing to update
>not just opening DA.version in notepad and changing the numbers to
"modVersion":
{
"major":2,
"minor":9,
"patch":0
},
so it becomes futureproof
ISHYGDDT
2.8.0 is the only good version he ever made
>micromissiles saturate any pd a fleet can have
>ai spergs out and doesnt fight back
no i dont think so
>being overpowered is... LE BAD
yes normal people dont enjoy whatever bullshit frigate with 20 hullmods you use to solo fleets
>URGH WHY ISN'T THIS GAME PERFECTLY BALANCED LIKE FORTNITE?!
Why don't you frick off back to USC you ugly DOG
>38:31
>39:34
Well, Exshitica Technologies is pozzed now too.
return to Extra System
What does USC stand for?
Universal Serial c**t
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I was willing to excuse this guy for maintaining Tart's mods, and he does this.
I've got half a mind to install Rapesector just to spite the whole damn discord modding cabal.
Huh? You mean you don't have it already?
TNP already served my purposes, but from closer examination of the exotica tech code, it looks like it might attack a protocol used in TNP as well, not just RS. That terrified me.
>went to the discord
>Matt Damon ragequit after the entire chat called him out for 10 minutes straight
WELL, THAT'S JUST DANDY
Play troony games, win troony prizes.
What exactly was he hoping to accomplish with malicious code?
Wonderful, so I have to nuke every mod this jackass maintained. No more seeker, unknown skies, Scy Nation, or Diable.
According to people looking through the code, diable 2.8.4 should be safe. He removed it due to backlash. Or so he says. If anyone wants to go through it and see if there's anything else just waiting to pop up.
>diable 2.8.4 should be safe
Wrong
only 2.8.0 is safe
everything after is AIDS positive
I can't believe I stuck up for Matt Damon. Shouldn't have let my love for Tartiflette's mods blind me. You guys were right all along.
YET ANOTHER THREAD, when this one isn't even on 10. Fan-fricking-tastic
what is this rapecode matt damon added?
literal save bricking code
Code that would edit your save file by removing data if RapeSector was detected in your load order. Upon the game attempting to access said data, your game would crash due to the game trying to access non-existant data and the save file is consequently permanently corrupted. Literal malware, in other words.
is the reason UAF and aotd releasing mods on their own pages and patreon and not on forum because it contains malware and avoids inspection?
we know there is behind the scenes collaboration with the toxic people
No
its because kaysaar is a drunk autist and cy is a seaBlack person
so different reasons but similar outcomes
Alex has banned Matt from the forums and deleted all the download links on his mod threads.
HTE and Apex are gone to, furry refused to remove his crashcode.
>this thread isn't even on page 10 yet
>new thread has 1160 posts
god dammit
newer thread:
newest thread:
I think you meant cuck and cuck+
Where are all the dicky mods?
The same place the camera mods are "Nowhere, WN"
Then wheres the buckbreaker update
I updated it and put it on my discord.
I demand you give it to me or I satbomb all your planets
Any easy way to find exotech (RAT) or is it literally just pure luck?
Really easy
fighters are shit against stations
what's the recommended way to crack them?
spapital cam
There has to be an easier way. These thgings are supported by a fleet and they're so tanky
xyphos and cobras are the only fighters that matter
Piranha from your shittiest carriers, colossus mk3 even
