They don't look human, they looks like animals. They're super powered animals, which is closer to a monster than anything from Gen VII, who genuinely all look like furgays

I seen fans worship the shit out these designs but for me, only 2/3 of them are good. I seriously don't get the appeal of Empoleon. It looks so stiff with the weird razor blades on his neck, body and flippers.
"Jobmon" is one of the dumbest fricking memes this board has come up with. This board seems to think that monsters can't be humanoid even though things like Frankenstein exists. Most wild Pokemon are still very animalistic, it's just the starters that pivoted towards being humanoid which helps make them actually stand out and gives them so much creative freedom. You argue that it's bad because you can't imagine a pack of wild Incineroar or whatever but good thing starters were designed to be your first partner and not be catchable in the wild. Almost like they're rare and special or something. You don't have to like the newer starters but most arguments used against them are just people trying to argue that humanoid Pokemon can't exist even though they have since the beginning. Also, enough with the furgay boogeyman, they will find ways to want to frick just about anything, stop blaming the Pokemon for it (unless it's Lopunny, that is pretty blatant furrybait)
