why is everything so to the point where anyone can just know what the frick you're doing 24/7? someone knows when you read a text, someone knows when you see an email, someone can track what games you're playing, how long, even when you're offline, all these little applications share data and shit like discord automatically broadcasts even what you're listening to on spotify unless you turn it off. you practically have to go into the woods with no internet to escape this shit. idk how people are fine with it and the majority of people like it
I guess because humans are naturally social and showing activity would give an opportunity to open a convo or any social interaction, while giving the option to hide if you don't like it. Not saying it's good nor bad this way, but just a thought. I like to hide some of my activity too.
There's even notifications on some social media that lets you know who viewed your profile. I checked this girl I know and have a crush on profile and I later got sent a message asking if this is the same "anon" from work that she talks with and messes around with.
>get told to join discord server >make a discord account >discord immedietly detects what game im playing and allows people in my voice chat to join by default
why is this the norm?
That anon probably knows, but was wondering why it's the default setting or at least doesn't ask you first when you first set up an account. Because that is a valid complaint.
I had an ex girlfriend who would CONSTANTLY be nagging at me to have all this shit turned on. I literally could never get away from her because she would always know everything I was doing when we werent together. If I disconnected or went offline she would get pissy that im "hiding" something from her. Holy frick am I glad to be done with that shit kek
It really creeps me the frick out and I have to check over settings to make sure stuff isn't enabled. Not sure why normies want every aspect of their lives broadcasted to the world.
Yeah I agree, I think It's detrimental to mental health because you lose the ability to have a private life at all, since most things are done digitally now It's a problem now
I just set it to invisible
all my friends know they can just message me at any point and I'll answer at the earliest or play with them whenever I'm available

Because they think they truly will be famous or millionaires, just like all the cool streamers/influencers they read about. One day.
>you practically have to go into the woods with no internet to escape this shit

I've turned off tracking and notifications for everything I can, it feels much better
