Off the top of my head, the following series are usually heavily discounted during big Steam sales:
Deus Ex
Half-Life
Tomb Raider
Legacy of Kain
Dungeon Siege
Knights of the Old Republic
Elder Scrolls
It might be more worth your time to head over to GOG, as they have primarily older PC games that are often on steep discounts.
Most of the Mindware games are pretty neat. He makes a bunch of Pacman Championship Edition-esque versions of obscure-ass PC88 games. Alien Field is fun.
Oh man, I've been eyeing their stuff for a while since they kept appearing on the frontpage. I suspected they were remake of old games, but nice to see it confirmed
Also same Mindware, the absolute gods that made MaBoShi and Flametail (not retro though)
Nah, Pacman Championship-like is probably the best way to describe it with all the snazzy effects, keeping a retro-ish presentation and making it light up a lot
I remember one on Wiiware for Frogger that was made in the same way too
Worthless. You can emulate these yourself, more accurately, and adjust them to exactly how you like them, with any shaders you want, at any res you want, on any device you want. There is literally zero reason to buy official emulations.
Even in retroarch you can use runahead and get no input lag, something no official emulation is going to give you.
I think the Castlevania collections were done by M2 so they're good, but they're not that demanding to emulate either. The Advance collections at the very least have popups (that you can toggle, I believe) that make keeping track of Souls (AoS), Furniture (HoD) and cards (CotM) easier.
Look, dummy. Unless that collection includes an entirely new experience I can't emulate there's not a goddamn way on earth you can shill me on it over a free ROM with perfect scaling, shading, response, free community hacks, and no obnoxious corpo splash screens, logos and menus. I'm glad you like buying stuff. Oh, and I'd pirate it anyway, lol. I'm not even gonna look into it and don't even bother responding. There's no way nunami produced anything worth, even my bandwidth.
Buy the collections or don’t. It means nothing. But they’re literally on sale for 3.99 each. If you’re frothing at the mouth over four whole dollerinos, or think your israeli masters give a frick about your Black person pennies when they’re busy raping world governments for billions, you’re an actual loser and probably moronic. Enjoy your retro-gaming funster.

I once watched a israelite compact his body to the width of a hole on a sewer grate and slink like a snake to retrieve a shit covered nickel from the depths of the Earth, so they absolutely care about “Black person pennies”. They are nothing without their “Black person pennies”.
His response was factually correct.
You want to give Konami suits who HATE you and LOVE pachinko and hotels your hard earned money for subpar emulations of something you can play to your exact specifications for free on any device you own?

the megaman nes collection has a warioware style challenge mode that's pretty fun
The Zero/ZX Legacy Collection removes some of the GBA slowdown and is easier to mod. I mostly appreciate the remastered soundtrack mod since I listened to that basically on repeat for a couple years.
When is the last time you used one? The main GBA core in retroarch supports running games at full speed with a simple box tick. It’s a standard feature on just about every single core, including 3DO.
Ah, so by "literally any GBA emulator" you actually mean "just retroshit"
Thanks gay, I'll give it a try sometime.

RetroArch is literally the best emulator (frontend) ever made. If you can’t figure out something as simple as RetroArch there is no hope for you and it isn’t a wonder why you buy subpar click and play roms. That’s low iq buygay mentality.
i'd say only do it with pc only retro really, it's easy enough to emulate most console stuff most of the time
try out some retro style games though they're fun
No guarantee that old PC game you're buying will actually work. They get no support on Steam, they're just pooped onto a market. Might as well try your chances with a cracked one, it's probably the same exact copy anyway
I fricking hate this.
Urban Chaos has been in my library since it became available, and no one even bothered to make sure it wasn't broken to hell and back on modern OS's. So I had to pirate it and play with community fixes anyway.
The Tomb Raider games are in a similar state, being bundled with an outdated version of DOSbox that runs them all in software mode.
Well, it's a Steam sale, so just about every retro game is going to be discounted.
Right but I'm looking for suggestions. random shit like Ceasar 3 or B17 Flying Fortress from 1994.
The Silver Case is discounted. I guess that's in the category of weird shit, that a lot of people wont even know is on Steam.
It's also just not very good.

reminds me of Super Blood Hockey (aka modern ice hockey for NES on steam)
Nah, Pacman Championship-like is probably the best way to describe it with all the snazzy effects, keeping a retro-ish presentation and making it light up a lot
I remember one on Wiiware for Frogger that was made in the same way too
Referring to Hyper Arcade or Returns? There are two Wiiware Frogger games.
Arcade
Looking at footage, definitively Hyper Arcade. A tad less flashy than I remembered however
the only good response because you can't emulate or pirate most of them because they are too damn obscure. Aren't remakes retro too? idk
he also includes the old Japanese computer versions in any case
Silent Hunter 3
Cuban Missile Crisis
Alone in the Dark Anthology
Silver Box Classics
F-14 Fleet Defender
Space Quest Collection
King's Quest Collection
The Leisure Suit Larry Bundle
40 Winks
Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure
MDK
Robin Hood
How are the Mega Man and Castlevania collections vs. emulating? I'm assuming they're basically outdated emulators?
Worthless. You can emulate these yourself, more accurately, and adjust them to exactly how you like them, with any shaders you want, at any res you want, on any device you want. There is literally zero reason to buy official emulations.

The Castlevania collections are actually very nice, lots of qol additions
Plus the price is right imo

Very normal response.
Not at all schizo. Nice to have you in the hobby.
>not even that anon
Go to a normal board homosexual.
>2 collections for your shekelhogs to gobble up separately
>no Rondo
Jesus fricking wept.

Janny please ban this racist israelite.

You’re a fricking sucker.

What a fricking liar.
Any good /vr/ multiplayer?
You can just emulate the roms
the megaman nes collection has a warioware style challenge mode that's pretty fun
The Zero/ZX Legacy Collection removes some of the GBA slowdown and is easier to mod. I mostly appreciate the remastered soundtrack mod since I listened to that basically on repeat for a couple years.
You know what else removes the slowdown? Literally any GBA emulator if you tick a box.
I can't think of a single GBA emulator that supports that. Maybe MAME does.
The DS Mega Man Zero Collection probably improves the slowdown too.
When is the last time you used one? The main GBA core in retroarch supports running games at full speed with a simple box tick. It’s a standard feature on just about every single core, including 3DO.

Does anyone have a list of retro Steam games where my money will actually go to the original developer(s), and not some publisher that bought the IP?
Don’t buy retro. It’s free. 99 percent of the time you pay for retro, it’s going to the license holder who hates you.
i'd say only do it with pc only retro really, it's easy enough to emulate most console stuff most of the time

It probably works in Proton however
I fricking hate this.

why purchase old games on steam instead of gog tho?
inb4 shill
why yes, I'm the resident Ganker gog shill
Just emulate or pirate. Stop paying for 20+ year old games you've already paid for once
I'm not gonna turn my $2k PC into a Russian's bitcoin miner machine just because I'm too stingy to pay two bucks for a game.
>go to trusted sites
>dont get miners
wooowwwwww so hard
Command & Conquer Remastered Collection is like $5 USD right now. Has the option to use old graphics if you want.
Gothic 1,yea yea the controls are clunky but its good.
