Really wanna pull the trigger on buying one but I already have a PS5, switch, PC with a 3060 Ti, and Miyoo Mini for light emulation. Someone please convince me that it’s worth
You bought a PS5, you clearly don't value your money.
Honestly ur not missing out on anything from not having a PS5, most current gen games are still cross gen and Demon's Soul is just a remaster of a PS3 game, and who’s really getting a PS5 to play Ratchet & fricking Clank?
Reasons to own a Steam Deck:
>play PC games, including but not limited to current existing Steam library
>install any software, including but not limited to other game stores like Epic GOG and BattleDOTnet
>install Windows OS
>install Game Pass PC on Windows OS OR play via the cloud on native SteamOS
>install PlayStation Plus on Windows OS
>watch Netflix Crunchyroll or any service u want
>optional mouse and keyboard
>able to use any controller u want, including but not limited to PS4 DualShock, PS5 DualSense, Xbox controller, Switch Pro controller
>through emulation, play Switch games (just don’t get caught)
>through emulation, play games of PS1, PS2, PSP, PS3, PS Vita, NES, SNES, N64,GameCube, Wii, GB, GBC, GBA, NDS, 3DS, Xbox, X360, Sega Genesis, Dreamcast and pretty much nearly games from every single hardware that has ever existed
The conclusion: the Steam Deck is the Infinity Gauntlet of gaming hardware and with it reality can be whatever u want
It runs dying light, a game from 2015, at like 20 fps in docked mode at 1080p
Thru wine and proton based compatibility tools, u can fix most games
I currently got Red Dead 2 and Oddworld Soulstorm running perfectly when they previously weren’t, bet it’d be no different with Dying Light
If it can play it just fine on high settings in handheld mode I doubt it's 20fps for docked 1080p. Tweak your settings
What the frick are you talking about? It can run Dying Light 2 at 1080p at 40 FPS and that game is optimized like shit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtvXB-88AXo
Literally making things up lol
Im not. Im speaking from my own testing
> in docked mode at 1080p
you should know docked mode means nothing to the deck because the device is not artificially power limited like that.
>don't get caught
How the hell are you gonna get caught emulating Switch games? (I've never used a Switch emulator. They don't require a Nintendo account login do they?)
Unless u happen to be a dumass that decided to live stream Switch games while presenting ur Deck UI for everyone to see, that’s how the big N will catch you in 4K
So a dumbed down computer with a shitty screen?
WOW
Haters
Everything you said… Agreed! I feel like grandpa here as I started with pong intellivision as a kid and ended with PS3 due to life! Mainly console gamer but in between apple II - MacBook gamer but was mainly the old apple days ending around Apple II G3.
The Steam Deck lets me game as my daughter is now 5 so after she is asleep maybe an hour a night!!
I also see it as a total stress reliever with work!
It's a godsend for when you've kids. You don't get near the TV during the day and when it's the evening, you don't want to submit your partner to Deathloop or whatever for the few hours you do have to yourself. This way you get to game and chill out while she relaxes herself.
Buy it if you want one and can afford it. It's your money. You decide what to do with it.
It will replace everything but your desktop.
Steam Deck IS the desktop
based Deck already kills Switch because I can use Firefox and post on Ganker with it
you get to play with your 3060 in bed via moonlight/steamlink
Why lug all of those devices around when Deck does all of them?
the anons have convinced me. i bought a 64gb and a ssd to install when it arrives.
it's a cool device, definitely impressive for a fully portable computer, but I barely use it. I don't leave my house much, and when I do, I'm usually focused on non vidya.
>I barely use it.
You can stop posting, no one finds you amusing any more.
>I already have a PS5, switch, PC with a 3060 Ti
lmao you stupid moron
shut up little snoy
Lot of turdworlders seething at the idort king.
>convince me
Kys homosexual
Mines arriving next week. Planning on finishing up Nier Automata on it. Will I need a case for extra grip or caps for the thumbsticks? My hands get sweaty.
Not that it’s necessary but still highly recommended, add a screen protector to ur list while ur at it
Thanks for reminding me that family members will be using it also.
>scratched screen
>rubber/plastic torn off of control sticks
What savages use this thing?
>rubber/plastic torn off of control sticks
To be fair, the Joycons are perhaps the filmiest and shittiest quality console controllers Nintendo have ever made. Those rubber toppers are only held on by through holes and come off surprisingly easy after normal use. It has nothing to do with throwing the console at the wall like a chimp, just the opposite since Nintendo stopped making their shit of Nintendium.
i want to frick that steam deck
'em
Sauce’em, please
>get Deck to motivate me to play something other that Civ 6
>turns out Civ 6 is one of the best experiences on the Deck
Fug.
>reading all that ant-sized text and UI elements on deck screen
sounds like a pain in the ass tbqhwy
Having the deck magnifier tool bound to L4 really negates that issue.
Playing HOI4 or Stellaris on the couch is top tier comfy
I didn't find Terra Invicta very wieldy so I didn't bother trying Stellaris. How do you compare playing it to a desktop? Also, do you have a recommended galaxy size?
The text doesn't seem small to me. The Witcher 3 is the only game I have to use the magnifier for.
Boring falseflag troony.
>Let’s talk Steam Deck!
Sure. It's overpriced and oversized turd whose competitors are running circles around. A free app on one's smartphone and a controller clip does a better job of being a Steam Deck than the actual steam deck for a fraction of the cost.
The only value a steam deck has is the emulators, which surprise surprise other competitors have released far better options with them *actually being fricking portable*.
Frick the steam deck and frick people who suck Gaben's dick.
(you)
samegay btw
Good luck running RDR2 on ur smartphone tho
moron's talking about streaming lmao
Natively tho?
Obviously never experienced crying while taking a shit from watching Arthur’s death on the Steam Deck
You know a product is doing the right things when posts like these show up for literally no fricking reason
OP asked to talk about the steam, I replied. Don't be pissy because I see massive flaws in your product and want something else.
It's comfortable enough to hold.
It is a competing device for me. I only care about emulation. I don't give a frick about any modern games.
Yes.
Also if you can't see the screen, you need to get your eyes checked.
that shit looks so fricking uncomfortable unless you're a kid which might be the case for you
I have a Miyoo Mini and it's perfectly serviceable as long as you don't touch the shoulder buttons. They're essentially useless.
I'll still use my Deck 99% of the time instead.
Anyone pretending like these are in any way comparable devices is out of their fricking mind.
>destroying your eyes because "it's portable!"
'ick on 'eck?
my hours played on steam deck
How well does POE run on it?
pretty great, i only had performance dips in some of the new league content (kaladra at the time).
nope, ran pretty great. i beat it too
But Ganker told me kirby was unplayable

why?

FRICK THE SWITCH!
What's the 90% mean?
(shrug)
It is referring to steam sale discounts
Steam does what Nintendon’t
Any deck owners want to tell me some of the better games that you can use on the deck?
Any issues you've run into during your usage? Slowdowns? What are thermals like?
Considering getting one, but also thinking about a new GPU & CPU.
Currently on the emulations, but one that I got lately was Oddworld Soulstorm
>isn’t currently compatible for Steam Deck
>can be fixed by installing the latest proton comp tool which is currently GE 7-43
It will run but in my experience it’s crashed rarely but surely that ur forced to manually reset the system
>will eat up the battery like hell!
>best if played while docked
You don’t necessarily have to get the dock that Steam has on its store page, about any third party dock will do
>docking my Deck to TV by using Genki Covert Dock for Nintendo uSwitch, the one that was founded on Kickstarter
>can currently get one on Amazon now
Played through MGSV and RE2 Remake on the Deck. Both were great.
>"comfy" deck thread literally on life support being stealth bumped from page 10 for the past several hours
just goes to show you can't have a deck thread without race or troony or chink or consolewar baiting, and it's hilarious.
Do I smell seething?
there's nothing to talk about, it's just a handheld PC
bumped the thread from page 10 just to make this very ironic statement
how curious.
You're boring.
Yep, you are one boring falseflagging troony. Glad my post from before struck a nerve.
boring is such a fricking queer insult, m8. Only limpwristed pillow-biters think anyone cares about how much their words might intrigue another.

i don't even own a deck
it is Ganker, after all
It's maybe the best video game purchase I've ever made. I feel immense joy every time I play it, and I'm always surprised by what it can do.
I'm currently enjoying Arx Fatalis w/ the Libertatis mod. I thought it was a lost cause to get the mod working, but it turned out to be really easy. I'm also playing Simpson Hit & Run w/ mods and same story - feels like you can add anything as a non-steam game and slap proton compatibility on it and shit just works.
I have 380 games designated verified & playable. Unless something comes along that my desktop can't run, I might not buy another piece of gaming hardware ever again.
ZAMN steamdeck looks like dat?
how well does fire emblem three houses emulate?
Not into it myself but after seeing BotW and Odyssey clips, I’m sure it runs better than anything the Switch could ever hope to achieve
lol, the switch version of botw and odyssey run like dogshit on deck
Prob saw an earlier version of Yuzu in action
Maybe Ryujinx
There is also the Wii U port of BotW running on Cemu
ah yes the classic emutroony cope.
instead of providing tangible, verified evidence of extended gameplay in which the game does not dip below native frames, they deflect:
"s-skill issue!!.... using the wrong version of yuzu!!!.... t-t-the cutting edge version!!... le powertools X^DD"
the anon in question said "runs better than anything the SWITCH could ever hope to achieve"
a fricking potato can emulate wii-u games, no one gives a singular frick my dude.
Find the video demos urself lazy
Prob puts more effort in looking up pr0n
Post this next time. Deckies have no rebuttal against it, only to to get mad.
Steamies be steamin.
this one is even better. The real smoking gun because it shows objectively how bad this shit is
This user don’t know how we do things, it’s only a matter of time til we get it up and working. Not everything will work miraculously the first time, besides I don’t think I’m missing on anything by not having Kirby on ‘eck

I haven't had my deck for 3 weeks dealing with an RMA and it's killing me. I miss my 'eck bros.
Fan bearing was bad, made a noise. They offered to RMA. I would've just replaced it myself if I knew it'd take this long.

I love playing Video Games on my Valve Steam Deck
this but i'm actually an unironic falseflagging trannie
Same here. It even helped me cutting down on drinking as I'm now relaxing while playing instead of having a bottle of wine in the evening.
... Anyway
>run Disk Usage Analyzer
>61.2gb in compdata
>absolutely no fricking idea what any of this is

hahahaha
compatdata is linux bloat. It's the entire massive infrastructure that steamOS NEEDS to set up to play windows games. You aren't getting rid of it, unless you plan to play linux only games like a miserable cretin.
You got suckered into the lie that linux was any good
yeah it really is all windows files inside so i probably can't nuke it
is this what happens every time i toggle on the proton compatibility layer? jesus christ i wish i got a 1tb internal
joking aside, you can't get rid of it. You need it for your games to run. When you use proton, it doesn't just look at that GE 7.43 install you have and say "let's use that". It downloads it AGAIN, and puts it in a separate folder (for some reason, maybe it somehow needs to be utterly unique). So yeah, you can count that 61gb as your linux bloat.
I got pissed off at it all in the end, and just bit the bullet and installed windows.
I installed the sabrent 1tb SSD not long ago.
breddy gud, wasn't hard to install other than actually popping the thing open, but that was my fault for not having a proper tool for it
61 gigabytes is really big, mines only 8 gigabytes. compatdata is just wineprefixes, along with everything a game needs to run like microsoft c++ redist, anticheat, and so on. it also holds game files like saves or whatever in a similar directory format as windows. you could probably delete the folder and steam will remake them. might just need to verify files after. backup saves and such inside first just in case, unless you are confident in steam cloud or its an online only game

I'm kind of glad the deck flopped
I'm in the market for one of these and I want to explain my intended setup so I can get you guy's advice.
I'm planning to buy the 64gb model and a 512gb A2 class microSD, on the microSD I will put roms and indieshit steam games (as that is 100% of what I play nowadays) but I also need to run an IDE, and SteamOS has a read-only filesystem, I could disable read-only but everything I install outside of the userspace will still get nuked everytime I update steamOS.
So I'm going to buy a dock (not sure which) and a nvme SSD enclosure because I have a 1TB M.2 laying around (not a 2230, it doesn't fit in the steam deck).
I will connect the nvme SSD and use the KDE partition manager to split it in two partitions, one will be ext4 as additional storage for the steam deck the other will be NTFS were I will install windows (not sure which version yet, recommendations will be appreciated). I will dual boot and install my IDE on the windows partition and other stuff like fusion360 and ltspice. I won't need to use windows If I'm not docked anyway.
Now why I want to do it in this specific way: At the moment I'm without a desktop computer since I've given mine to my father (his shat the bed spectacularly right when he had a bunch of deadlines at work, the poor guy was freaking out). I don't really need a PC as powerful as the one I gave away right now, especially since I will be moving from the EU soon and I don't want to lug a mid-tower PC across international flights (I did it once and it's not fun). I've looked up prices for 2230s and they are kinda expensive new (more expensive than full size ones), looking at the used market instead I'm finding the best deals coming from China and I don't want to order from there as it will take months to reach me and I will get ass-raped by the customs tax to the point it will cost me as much as buying new.
This way I can use the full size SSD that's just sitting around while I wait for a good deal on a 2230. Thanks.
>I'm planning to buy the 64gb model and a 512gb A2 class microSD, on the microSD I will put roms and indieshit steam games
kek no you're not. Because while your indieshit games might be 400mb each, the proton installs for those games will be a further 1.4gb EACH, and that's without going into shadercache folders which will likely end up being another 30gb on top of that
best bet is just to get a 512gb unit with a 512gb or larger microsd, then just put windows on it. You really aren't missing anything at all from steamOS, and windows actually performs better now that the community have been working on it.
https://github.com/baldsealion/Steamdeck-Ultimate-Windows11-Guide/wiki
it's afraid
I actually use mine with a dock kind of like this btw, but for the opposite use case. undocked, I use it as a PC, while I have a couple of HDs with games on plugged into the dock for when I am at home. I use it kind of like a laptop at work, and at home just dock it to the TV to play games from the external HDs. works just great for me
>it's afraid
who's afraid? what?
>400mb game installs 30gigs of shaders
kek
I only really play indies and my shadercache was around 28gb, last time I checked.
wow that's very bad
I literally only play Slay the Spire and one other random indie shit game every month, the rest is just ROMs, I think the micro-sd will be fine for now, anyway I will have a partition on the 1TB SSD when docked.
Not sure about buying the 512gb as it's still cheaper to buy a 64gb model and a 512gb ssd separately. And sometimes it's not much more money to go for a 1TB. I'm just a poorhomosexual cheapskate and I think steam deck users hoover'd up all the good deals for 2230s in my country right now.
Thanks for the link BTW, I'm assuming W11 is the best for the steam deck? I've heard it was made to work better on touchscreens like win8 was (never used either so I don't know).
Oh I gave a cursory glance at the link and it was already very helpful. Thank you very much.
>380 gigs of games installed
>Only 60ish gigs of shadercache
I have no idea how people managed to fill most of their system up with fricking shadercache, sure it gets LARGE and the size depends on the games you play but it's not nearly as bad as shitposters tries to make it out as being.
With that said, the 64gig version is not worth the money IMO since this shitposter is right that unless you only play old/indie games on your Deck, you will run out of room pretty quickly (just like if you buy a lot of 3rd party games in the Switch) and Micro-SD cards are not cheap and are only getting more expensive thanks to COVID it's rampage in China, to the point where it might just be cheaper to upgrade your internal drive. So unless you want to open up your Deck yourself, it's better to just pick the middle option
just get the 512gb from the start. If you're buying a PC, don't skimp on it for the sake of a few bucks
I have a m.2 SSD lying around but it's full size. I'm going to partition it and use one partition for a windows boot drive and the other for additional steam storage while its docked. All the good deals for 2230s got used up locally and I can only get a good price from china (and get assfricked by customs). I'm just going to wait around for a discount on storage while I use what I already have.
>bragging about 60gbs of bloat
>undoubtedly has at least 30gb more bloat in compatdata
how did linuxtrannies go from laughing at windows being bloated to bragging over how they only have 100gb of bloat?
>Shitposter is a Microdick Pajeet
>has to resort to ad hom
UH OH
STINKY
very cool. I really like that pic too, very funny But seriously..
how did linuxtrannies go from laughing at windows being bloated to bragging over how they only have 100gb of bloat?
Get a normal PC. To begin with, it's not guaranteed that you can boot Windows from a usb drive connected to a dock. But if it works, good.
That GitHub guide the other anon posted says it works fine if you use a specific version of windows for booting off external drives. Really all I'm spending additionally is a 30 euro enclosure for the SSD. I don't want to build a PC because I don't look forward lugging it through international airports and customs in 7 months when I move. I've done it once and it's a pain in the ass.
have you looked at mini PCs or nucboxes? You will get a more powerful one for cheaper than the deck nowadays, and they can fit in your pocket
That is a great idea and seems like the most painless solution. Will look into them, I remember the old Intel NUC with a skull on it so I have some catching up to do.
I used to use one when I was travelling in hotel rooms. Easy as frick to hook up, and I only WISH they were as powerful then as they are now.
Yeah, and u still have to pack a controller keyboard and mouse and a tv/monitor lol wtf
I'd just give the monitor to my father, he can have a blast with two excel spreadsheets open at a time.
a controller is small
my keyboard is small
my trackball is small
why the frick would I carry around a fricking TV to use it on?
>have you looked at mini PCs or nucboxes
Yeah, TVs are rare. You really have to take them with you because it's not like they can be found in anyone's house, or any hotel room in the fricking world.
Definitely started gaming in 2010
Oops
Good luck finding a screen on the bus or at the beach or the park with ur homies or ur girl (or guy). Some of us actually leave the house u know, yet we may feel like getting on Fall Guys for a bit lol
when I am out with people, I tend to devote my time to them, instead of fricking around on my toybox. Also, great connection at the beach or the park. Good job
Yep we all minor league athletes tryna go pro on Fall Guys
Obviously, you know better, but sounds like it would be easier to get a 1-2TB SSD and dual boot.
So how does Tekken 7 and SFV run on the deck?
I thought this shit was supposed to be as strong as a base PS4 and those games run well enough on there...
imagine listening to shitposters
Tekken 7 runs at 60fps, shit battery life.
I also got in the SF6 beta last month and tested it on the Deck, runs a bit better than T7.
Both of these are on 720p medium settings.
40 fps* sry mt
>battery dies in an hour
..? really
and people buy this.....?
>really
unfortunately no
Why the FRICK did steamOS get rid of yay install? That was so useful. I feel like I can't even use the arch repo now.
There's no point in using that with an immutable file system.
>immutable
its literally a console command away to enable write access
How many times do I need to expose you this thread before you frick off? No seriously, tell me.
since this is your first time 'exposing' aka quoting me id say at least more than once
You aren't fooling anyone. The only person responding to you at this point is me. Are you enjoying the attention, falseflagging troony?
Imitation is the best form of flattery.
my first post in the thread was
It's just a schizo, don't waste your time replying to him.
Is there a list of the best SSDs on deck somewhere?
Just ignore her, she has her own 'motivations'.
You should come up with something new yourself. It's important for your growth as a shitposter.
>her
>buy steam deck to play indies, didn't buy anbernic's because I wanted the trackpads just in case
>only play first person shooters and graphically expensive games in my pc now
steam deck truly is the best "console" ever made. Still bought the 64GB because frick Valve and their predatory shit tier live services
Have you seen the "live services" everyone else puts out and compared it to Steam? Minus the free games, only Microsoft actually competes and it still falls short on some aspects like the storefront. Sony and Nintendo are behind notably and Epic Games is just pure shit.
>shitdeck is only good for playing steam slop (aka IOS ports)
lmao, lmfao even
I play non-steam games almost exclusively on it though
>pirated pc slop
even worse LMAO
Didn't think me calling you out earlier would turn you into such a mess.
this just looks like that one furry simulator game
furry pedo trannies are the target audience for this device after all
Thread archived.

How come valve, one of the biggest videogame corporations in the world, took years to spit out the deck, while a small chinese company operating out of a shed in shenzhen manages a much better device in about 9 months?
>chinkshit
not even once
>buying chinkshit
Literal government mandated backdoor. Not even joking.
>and valve isn't
... LOL
>and valve isn't
Correct.
>arguing with schizos
haven't you frickers played MGS2 before? If you're on an electronic device connected to the internet, you've got a glowie backdoor on the CPU. No exceptions
Boring.
You forgot to stop saging, falseflagging troony.
>Literal government mandated backdoor
but what if I run steamOS on mine..?
American devices have them too
How am I supposed to play RTS games on that?
with the touchscreen like a chad. Or with the thing docked, like a sane person that isn't trying to play RTS games on a fricking seven inch screen with microscopic text.
>with the touchscreen
lol lmao
>like a sane person that isn't trying to play RTS games on a fricking seven inch screen with microscopic text.
werks for me
>werks for me
if you're playing in potatovision where you can literally only see the space of four buildings on the screen, then no. It doesn't work for you.
These games were literally made with 640x480 in mind.
Also I count 9 buildings with room to spare.
>These games were literally made with 640x480 in mind.
these games were literally made to be played with a keyboard and mouse while sat in a nice comfy chair, but something tells me you will now drop the appeal to nature.
It's not an appeal to nature. I'm simply saying the resolution is more than enough for the game to play perfectly fine. As are the touchpads and other inputs the Steam Deck provides.
Is it as good as playing on my 1440p screen with mouse and keyboard? No, but I'm willing to make that compromise to play wherever the frick I want. That's literally the whole point of a handheld.
>playing an RTS
>not literally using his fingers to order troops and command requisitions
>whirling around a cursor like a pleb
You guys are so weird.
>with the touchscreen like a chad
darknet grade cope
>Or with the thing docked, like a sane person that isn't trying to play RTS games on a fricking seven inch screen with microscopic text.
looks like a skill issue
>Chinkshit
I learned my lesson with GPD, unless the thing I'm buying is 100 bucks or cheaper I'm NEVER touching another chinese designed and published device ever again
>GPD
which one, out of interest?
Win 2, Win 3 and one of their Android devices that I forgot the name of. Yeah, I was dumb enough to fall for their bullshit 3 times in a fricking row
>why was it easy for Chinks to copy after Valve put in all the time and effort making a device?
truly a mystery
>double to triple the price
>still dropping frames under 30
many people are wondering this
>chinkshit
>no touchpads
Seriously?
Did a 100% run in SM64 on my Deck. Pretty fricking comfy. The PC port is great.
Might play OoT next if that port works just as well.
>this item is not available for reservation in your country
I'm sure that there's a way. You could use a VPN to trick it into thinking you're based in the U.S., then use a middleman service of some kind where you send the Deck to them and then they ship it abroad to you for a small fee. BUT WHO AM I KIDDING, you're probably poor and can't even afford it even if they did ship it to you directly for $400 and you're just making excuses.
low effort post
on the fence about getting one, convince me I should/shouldn't
no
make up your own damn mind
that's the goal
which is why i want to hear points i might not have thought of
You should ask less vague questions then.
okay
does the bulk and geometry make it more clunky to stow, get out and in general use than a similar sized tablet
is it particularly fragile
any issues that might come up when traveling with it
after you anon
>Lowercase text
Just put on a trip already. You aren't fooling anyone.
Rattled.
>does the bulk and geometry make it more clunky to stow, get out and in general use than a similar sized tablet
It is thicker, the case is like three inches so you're not gonna slip it into a laptop/tablet pouch obviously but I've had no issue fitting it into my backpack.
>is it particularly fragile
Wouldn't say so. you do of course have the issue with analog sticks sticking out as with any handheld that has them but that's why it comes with a case.
>any issues that might come up when traveling with it
Low battery life if you absolutely need to play demanding games I guess. Wouldn't know myself though.
>the case is like three inches
jesus, that's wider than a bottle
>demanding games
does PS2 count as that
>You aren't going to whip it out on the bus
that's a deal breaker
>because practically it means opening your bag, taking out the carry case, opening the carry case, taking out the deck, turning it on and devoting two hands to it at all times.
I do nearly all of that though with my headphones though
generally I can find and retain a single seat for most of the ride
failing that, can it be held discretely enough when confined to a single seat (i.e. not elbowing the other passenger constantly)
>that's a deal breaker
In the interest of honesty, I actually sold my deck because of this, and got a cheap anbernic. I realised that on buses, trains and planes and shit I only wanted to play older games, so PSX and below suits me just fine, and these smaller devices are easy enough to fit in a pocket. So much better, at least for me.
>can it be held discretely enough when confined to a single seat
I also found that it couldn't be played while...squashed up next to someone. I'm not a huge guy, but have fairly broad shoulders, and it was JUST too big to be comfortable with. A shame. Without wanting to sound like a shill, if it was the size of the new chinese ones that are coming out like the PSP-looking one, it would be perfect. But it's not.
>I actually sold my deck
then why the frick are you in a deck thread? Leave.
How the frick could it possibly be too wide? It's like 30cm wide, add like 5cm for your hands on either side and it's still far narrower than even a small woman's shoulders.
anon, I don't know why you're putting women's shoulders in a bag, but you really shouldn't be taking them out on a bus and playing with them.
Leave.
He was talking about playing while sitting next to someone. If it isn't wider than your shoulders it won't pose a problem.
what kind of weird preying mantis motherfricker are you, if you aren't pushing out your elbows at all when playing a handheld? most bus SEATS are only a little longer than the deck. It is NOT suitable for this kind of thing, no matter how much you cry about it
>most bus SEATS are only a little longer than the deck
What kind of third world tuna can buses are you riding?
>the seat I am sitting on RIGHT NOW is 46cm wide. How fat are you? Be honest.
the AYN Odin is pretty good for that, I guess. I had one for a while, and it worked great for MOST ps2 and GC games. But even then, I found playing them on the go was too involving.
>trust chinks
that's why god invented resellers, I guess. in the UK, droix is a good one
>starts shilling chinkshit
AND THERE IT IS
>the seat I am sitting on RIGHT NOW is 46cm wide
Seems like plenty of space to comfortable play on the steam deck. I'm starting to think you're the fatso because that's somehow not enough space to fit your arms while holding a 30cm wide device.
>anon has never sat on a bus before
figures
Sorry your buses are so shitty anon. We get proper seats over here.
>it's the buses' fault their seats aren't bigger
I mean, okay. Weird way to admit that you're too fat for regular seats, but okay?
Which games do you play for those few hours? I've been playing Tricky Towers before night night.
Stop derailing the thread.
>has no answer
>accuses the other guy of "derailing" while trying to shill from square one again
kek
I won.
Never forget that you broke from your routine just to imitate me.
Arkworthy, plz
Never forget. This will be the last time I reply to you.
>This will be the last time I reply to you.
i'm sure you have 3000 MORE hours of starbound to play. Leave.
I've been playing a bunch of Binding of Isaac. Also, some Jedi Fallen Order to get ready for the new Jedi Survivor in March.
Mostly beat 'em ups and now replaying Dragon's Dogma
Slay the Spire is a really good and quick "pick up and play" kinda game. And its a good game on battery life as well. Deck says I'd get about 6 hours out of slay the spire if I jist plsyed that.
>talking about the topic is shilling
It's time to touch some grass dude, lol.
One my issues is once I put down a game, I have a very hard time picking it back up. Now I just don’t put it down.
Been playing old PC games mostly.
We have regular seats here. They're just wider than yours it seems. I truly am sorry that your government feels the need to cram people into buses like tuna in a tin can. You just need to realize that not everywhere in the world public transit is that shitty.
Please stay on topic.
Exposed. Leave.
>odin
yeah, a deck in that size would be an instant buy
>resellers
I don't trust them on anything tbh
yes I'm aware of the irony there since everything is made by chinks, but it is what it is
>yeah, a deck in that size would be an instant buy
that's what the loki is. I get not trusting them. I've lived there before, and they're not the most trustworthy of people. That said, AYN seems to be a legit enough company, and run by lenovo in everything but name.
That's why I recommend resellers. If anything breaks, you go back to the reseller in your country for refunds, repairs, etc.
You can stop responding to your own posts. No one is biting at your low effort derailing.
I am happy for you to do this all day. Did your wrangler not show up for work today, or what?
>that's what the loki is
It's missing several features of the Deck while being weaker and more expensive.
>weaker
no
>more expensive
yes
Not sure what features you mean, but a lot of them would necessarily make the thing bigger, eg. touchpads.
>no
it has a 6600U, not a 6800U
>features
yeah, the touchpads which are vital for mouse and keyboard games as well as two additional back buttons. Also capacitive sticks.
the loki max has a 6800U, the regular one has a 6600U? Not sure how much that one costs.
>touchpads
again, that would necessarily increase the size of the device, wouldn't it?
>capacitive sticks
why?
>the loki max has a 6800U
At that point it's not only more expensive but hilariously more expensive. Also that thing drains the battery like a motherfricker at TDPs where it actually performs better than the Deck. At lower TDPs the Deck still wins out.
>that would necessarily increase the size of the device, wouldn't it?
I suppose. But without them it's hard to claim that the Loki is a smaller Deck. They're one of the standout features that really make it a portable PC, not just a console port/emulation machine.
>capacitive sticks
Convenient way to enable/disable gyro if you're into using sticks. Having to press a button do do that or leaving the gyro always on is just bad in comparison.
>At that point it's not only more expensive but hilariously more expensive
mine cost 650 bucks.
>Also that thing drains the battery like a motherfricker at TDPs where it actually performs better than the Deck. At lower TDPs the Deck still wins out.
No, it really doesn't now. That was when the processor was brand new. Now it's bedded in a little, optimizations have been made. The GPD win 4 has shown that it now surpasses the deck pretty handily at 10 TDP or above, while the better battery offers more life.
> They're one of the standout features that really make it a portable PC, not just a console port/emulation machine.
if you like. I mean, this seems like a wildly subjective thought to me, and honestly I am thinking now that you're just looking for reasons to praise the deck. Any game I can think of that needs trackpads is a game I will prefer to play docked anyway.
>Convenient way to enable/disable gyro
Eh, I disagree. I hate having gyro be "always on" like that. If I am playing a game, I have my thumbs resting on the sticks, no exceptions. I much prefer using R5 or L5 to enable it. Far more natural. Besides, I would much rather have the hall effect sensors than any of that shit, which the loki will have.
>The GPD win 4 has shown that it now surpasses the deck pretty handily at 10 TDP or above, while the better battery offers more life.
Post benchmarks
just follow the phawx on youtube. He's been following the progression pretty well.
>this seems like a wildly subjective thought to me
Whether you need or want them is wildly subjective. But you didn't argue that. You called it a smaller Deck, which it simply isn't. It doesn't have feature parity. By that logic I could also call the Switch a smaller Deck.
>You called it a smaller Deck
actually no, you did. I told you that it wasn't, and likely the "vital" inclusions you wanted would make it bigger, which is why they weren't included in the first place.
>actually no, you did.
bruh
>yeah, a deck in that size would be an instant buy
>that's what the loki is
Are you moronic? This was then immediately followed-up with the caveat that
"Not sure what features you mean, but a lot of them would necessarily make the thing bigger, eg. touchpads."
this point was discussed adequately already, why bring it up again?
>This was then immediately followed-up
It wasn't immediately followed up, it was followed up when you were challenged on that claim.
>It wasn't immediately followed up
It was literally the very next post I made
>I much prefer using R5 or L5 to enable it
The Loki doesn't have those. Don't you mean L4 or R4?
I meant on the deck, but on the loki it will be L4 or R4 yeah. Unless it does have capacitive sticks, which I hope it doesn't.
>Unless it does have capacitive sticks, which I hope it doesn't.
Why? You're not forced to use them you know. You're just arguing against more features even if they could be useful to other people and don't impact you at all. The touchpads I can understand, they make the device larger, but capacitive sticks don't do shit.
>Why?
simply because I don't use them. others do, and they can hope they ARE included, but I don't give much of a shit for them at all.
>You're just arguing against more features even if they could be useful to other people and don't impact you at all.
Yeah, I am. And I would argue FOR other inclusions that others would see as useless. They're free to do so.
>capacitive sticks don't do shit.
kind of my point.
My point is, if you're indifferent to them, why argue against them? You could be indifferent to their inclusion but you're actively against it. Doesn't make sense.
because they add time and effort and cost to the device. I'm not actively against it, and I won't kick up shit if they ARE included in the device. But I am not exactly going to pretend I want them.
I'm not even arguing AGAINST them, I just see it as a waste of energy. You might feel differently. Neither of our opinions actually matters.
>because they add time and effort and cost to the device
kek, this is the same argument xbox luddites use against gyro.
Tell me, how much cost do they add exactly? How can Valve make the Deck so cheap with all those features that add cost?
>Tell me, how much cost do they add exactly?
no idea, a couple of bucks?
>How can Valve make the Deck so cheap with all those features that add cost?
because they're a large corporation who make the mainstay of their wealth from their digital storefront, and because they got a lot of the parts cheap from AMD due to the covid fire sale and repurposed them.
>and because they got a lot of the parts cheap from AMD due to the covid fire sale and repurposed them.
Unlike those chink handhelds it has a custom APU.
https://hexus.net/tech/news/cpu/147700-details-amds-low-power-low-cost-van-gogh-apu-emerge/
So if it's not a custom design for the Deck, what other devices use Van Gogh?
I'm sure it was intended for general use, until the factories all closed down and they sat on a shelf. valve bought them all up cheap and repurposed them for the deck. Which is partly why they were able to make it so cheaply.
nice headcanon
>simply because I don't use them
Then don’t
>6600U
still stronger than the steam deck. The steam deck CPU is something akin to a 3750.
>How the frick could it possibly be too wide?
because sane people don't want to play on a handheld that is half a metre wide, m8.
Falseflagging trannies this way.
>I only wanted to play older games
me too mostly, but there's the odd PS2 or GC title that would be peak comfy on long rides
that and not wanting to trust chinks with anything over 100 bucks or having to deal with android
You can stop posting now.
>does the bulk and geometry make it more clunky to stow, get out and in general use than a similar sized tablet
Yes. You aren't going to whip it out on the bus because practically it means opening your bag, taking out the carry case, opening the carry case, taking out the deck, turning it on and devoting two hands to it at all times. You will end up using your phone.
>is it particularly fragile
It's made of cheap plastic, and you can literally press in the screen. It seems fairly robust, mine hasn't broken and I have dropped it twice. You might get lucky with it.
>any issues that might come up when traveling with it
It will take up half a backpack, not counting accessories you might want.
forgot to ask, but how are the digital controls
I reckon I'd be using them 99% of the time were I to get one
if I were to get a chink handheld I'd just let go of PS2/non shit OS and get something cheap
main reason I'm considering the deck is because it's the only non chink shit that seems to fill my perceived needs
>if I were to get a chink handheld I'd just let go of PS2/non shit OS and get something cheap
It depends what you need
portability, good buttons, gen 5 emulation, ease of use and it not being chink basically
anon, the retroid pocket 2+ can do all of this for like 100 bucks.
>gen 5
frick, gen 6
the one with PS2
Thought that's what you meant. The retroid pocket 3+ is apparently good with PS2 and GC, as is the odin pro.
>retroid pocket 3+
been thinking about that one, even despite it being chink, but apparently it's just shy of emulating PS2 well
>but apparently it's just shy of emulating PS2 well
they all are, solely because of 5 or 6 PS2 games that just don't run well at all. about 95% of the library that runs okay will run just fine on the RP3+, it seems.
from what I've seen, it really has framerate problems and requires things like going below native res
>retroid pocket
>ayn odin
>anbernic
all terrible ideas. For PS2/GC games, the obvious best bet is just to get a cheap phone, like the LG v60, and stick a controller on it. So much more performance and flexibility, and no need to give any money to the CCP
The geometry is perfect, u actually want it to be thicc, once u use the Deck too much the Switch will feel tiny as frick. Literally just a kids toy
Nintendo products are for children after all.
Most autistic poster on Ganker. Kys.
>hear points i might not have thought of
points you might not have thought of will be points you dismiss out of hand. Eg. You don't want to play 90% of games "on the go" anyway, because they aren't suited to be mobile experiences in any way, and this whole "handheld PC" is literally a meme to sell you junk
Getting desperate, are we?
he's right though
>thread was not bumped
Imagine not having GankerX in current year.
moron
I broke you, and I'm sorry.
Haters, man
test
Anyone else using SD card adaptors as a case for your microSD cards? They fit nicely next to the deck in the case
I'm not using additional SDs. Too lazy to swap micro SDs every time i want to play emulators. If it doesn't fit on the SSD + 1 SD it's not meant to be.
Just bought a deck and now I'm trans.
What do?
I bought a deck and its just sitting in my room collecting dust because I don't go out often. What do? Should I give it to a family member?
Try docking it fiend
Why do you keep deleting your own posts? What kind of moronic gimmick is this?
> Let's talk 1500 AUD because frick Australia and store exclusivity deal.
Yeah thanks, Valve.
Got my dock last week and it sure is cozy using it on a tv and supremely helpful when transferring files between my PC and Deck. Allowed me to install my dump of Fire Emblem Three Houses and I started replaying it and man do I love playing it in 60FPS with mods as well as using a mod to allow same sex relationships
What's a good wireless KB+M you guys recommend? I really would like to get one not only to help with navigating the desktop while docked but to get familiar with Linux.
Should I get one of these? I am kind of on the fence about getting one, but they look really cool!
>not the first post from this IP
I'm convinced, OP. Should I get the 64gb and then spring for an SSD to install, or pull the trigger on a 512gb?
I mean I myself went all the way and ordered the top tier model, but I can’t recommend it if ur not gonna be looking into getting the most out of it. Got mine to play RDR2 on the go, b***h already takes up 1/5 my internal space, therefore u gotta think ahead before u buy. Yes u can also get an SD, got me a 1TB for 150, totaling my total money spent to like around 800 bucks. Best 800 I ever spent tho, no regrets, got all my Steam games but 2 running on it in the internal memory, my SD card is holding all my ROMS and I still have enough space to add even more. Didn’t spent a single dime since, u prob will be good for a while until that one next big upcoming title gets announced
how involved is installing an ssd if i bought the base model
He's really making it obvious today, isn't he.
Yes, you are.
How do you pirate Steam games on Steam Deck?

Don't mind her, she's been seething ever since she got called out earlier.
This consolewar shit is gay as frick
You guys sound like fricking twelve year olds.
Agreed, wholeheartedly.
Quack
I love my deck but I'm really disappointed with the quality of the buttons and the directional, they feel really cheap and are "squeaky"
Why do people even buy stuff from china, or are the chinkgays in these threads just trolling to make valvegays mad?
Why wouldn't you?
>Why do
Extremely low effort post.
The schizo posters are going all out.
thoughts on the Deck 2's specs?
This is a device for the tinkerers. It's very frustrating in the beginning but now i love it lol.
In terms of portable gaming, not so long ago, I remember my high hopes for the PS Vita but Sony never got behind it and it never reached its potential. Felt like a wasted opportunity. Then I got my Switch and it’s a lot of fun but the Nintendo-tax certainly takes its toll. The Steam Deck takes portable gaming and ramps things up with its versatility….emulation, Steam games, and streaming (Xcloud, consoles, etc). Feels like I’ve barely scratched the surface of stuff to do on it. I never thought I’d spend more time on it than my Series X, but it’s very close. Not just one of my best gaming purchases but one of my best entertainment purchases, period.
Valve already dropped support for deck, waiting for Deck 2
>Valve already dropped support for deck
it took them like six months of active use before the tipped their hand and revealed a revision. Not even Nintendo is that fricking greedy. Deck 2 will probably last another six months before they copy the pimax and reveal the deck 3, now with VR capabilities
Are you also going to b***h about Intel and AMD releasing new CPUs every year? (While your hardware is from 2017)
How 'bout you post the one covered in 'emen?
No, u do it
>chink shills not even hiding it any more
This is a steam deck general, not a shit-that-explodes-in-your-hand-after-30-mins general
Steam deck's control layout is cancer, don't buy it.
Also frick steam and volvo for censoring reviews that hurt developer feefees.
Why is Valve hardware always exclusive to their own store? Wouldn't they get higher sales by letting typical video game/electronics retailers sell their stuff?
Hardware shortage I assume? Retailers will just scalp their stock like it happened with PS5 and actual customers won't be able to buy it.
can't shill linux when every deck is sitting in some scalper subhuman's warehouse
>shill
>linux
kek imagine being a moronic wintoddler (redundant)
Unironically scalping, it's why almost every hardware manufacturer have started selling their own stock unless they can somehow gain on scalping their own stuff (like Nvidia and it's graphics cards between 2018 and 2022)
They're already taking a loss in the lowest price model, why give further cuts to retail stores?
Based morons replying to hours old bait, you love to see it
I’d buy this thing in a heartbeat if it weren’t for the absolutely abysmal battery life. I’m waiting till they at least double the battery life for this thing.
Depends entirely on what games you play. You're going to be waiting a very long time if you're waiting to play the latest AAA shit for 2+ hours, but you can comfortably get 3-4 hours on most things, and for a lot of indies and some emulators I can easily get over 7 hours
I guess a good powerbank to carry around would be essential to have. I can live with that
I’m just spoiled by my NDS who had like 8 hours per charge for every game, and even the Switch Oled gets like 4-5 hours on every game now. I guess it’s the ARM architecture.
>I’m just spoiled by my NDS who had like 8 hours per charge for every game, and even the Switch Oled gets like 4-5 hours on every game now. I guess it’s the ARM architecture.
It's literally just that Nintendo favors battery life by limiting performance. Valve could do the same thing if they wanted, but then most AAA games would barely run.
It's entirely within the user's power to enforce those limitations themselves which is really quite unique in the handheld market
this
I've managed to pull 3 hours in Control at 540p, it's wild
Don't expect major battery gains from the deck or other hardware in the near future short of making frickhuge batteries, we've kinda hit a dead end with lithium ion.
That being said, depending on the game you can get pretty good battery life, especially if you're able to lower wattage without impacting performance. If you're a AAA gamer then yeah, expect closer to 2 hours, but you actually can get pretty close to 8 under lighter loads.
You could also slap a 10000mAh battery pack on the back, which will probably be good enough unless you're playing demanding games for more than 4-5hours per session
Don't take this as being pedantic, but it's better to talk about/recommend batteries based on their watt hours rather than mAh. Watt hours gives you all the necessary information to know how long you can expect to run a device at any given voltage, whereas mAh requires you to figure out what the battery manufacturer's voltage is for that given mAh value
>Don't take this as being pedantic
Too late
But yes you're correct, but if you are shopping for battery packs you often have to dig through the specs sheet to actually find this information.
it's the opposite, mAh gives you the amount of charge it holds while Wh requires you to know the voltage
If I am told that a battery has 100 watt-hours of capacity, I can conclude that I may draw 50 watts for 2 hours, or 10 watts for 10 hours. If I'm told a batter has 10 amp-hours of capacity, all I can conclude is that I may draw 1 amp for 10 hours for example, which doesn't really tell me anything because that doesn't factor in the voltage that I might want to draw. I would have to find out what the manufacturer's voltage spec is for that battery in order to figure out how much time I can actually expect to get out of the battery for my device
THERE HE IS

Any steam deck-compatible game recommendations for a pedophile?
I just finished ape escape 3, highly recommended.
Deck-tans are cute
>try Minecraft on my Deck
>hear the fan go wild whenever new chunks are being generated
This fricking game man. Once you explored a bit and settled in a place it's pretty light though.
Lol I’m gone for the night and I come back to see haters and two dudes arguing about bus seats
Hows Terraria
Works great. I'd recommend making your own control config instead of using the official one.
>bugged switch
I don't know what I expected to see
realistically what do you do here? Drown them in rubbing alcohol?
Those aren’t mites, this why u don’t beat off while Switch in hand
the deck is the perfect system for friends gathering. You put a catalog of pc and emulated console games, plug it to the tv with 4 generic controllers and are ready to go. Whatever they want to play you pirate it in a second. No more "oh shit i don't own that game", "o shit it's not on switch", "oh shit we don't have 4 controllers of the same kind". It made everything so fricking easier
But isn't bluetooth pretty shit for controllers?
for casual play it's serviceable. It's not like i'm gonna host guilty gear tournaments on it
Yeah, that's true. More than good enough for emulated mario kart, smash, etc.
The 8bitdo ultimate controller with the dongle was recently patched in by valve, so you can atually use 2,4ghz with it.
Barely any difference to USB these days.
This is a ridiculously specific issue but hopefully someone can help. I'm trying to play AvP 2 on my Steam Deck and the game runs fine, but the mouse is completely busted. Setting the right joystick to the mouse works if you only push it very slightly, but move the stick more than a millimetre and it suddenly breaks and acts like it's trying to push in all directions at once at full force.
And using the trackpad isn't much better, it's all jittery and not smooth at all.
That's only in game though, it controls the mouse fine in the menus.
Does the size make a significant difference compared to a Switch?
I didn't find it much of an adjustment going from switch to deck (more comfy though) but it felt really weird going back from deck to switch.
I love playing Video Games on my Valve Steam Deck
>decide to emulate at least one game for each system because I never gave a shit about consoles before and Emudeck makes it so I can just drop roms in folders and it will work
>there is nothing to emulate because even the best console games are slightly above average at best compared to classic PC games or I already played superior PC version
Metroid Prime is okay but don't see myself finishing even the first game. PS2 has no good exclusives. The only arguably better console version I found is Prehistorik 2 aka Prehistorik Man for SNES. Not touching any bing bing wahoo games, hate the plumber character.
>PS2 has no good exclusives
>OG Ratchet & Clank quadrilogy
>Jak and Daxter
>Sly Cooper
>classic God of War I & II
>Ape Escape

>MGS 2-3
>Persona 3-4

>GTA classics
>Bully
Just to name a handful
Also u can can run them all on the Steam Deck and don’t gotta worry about hunting any of them and an old still-functioning PS2 system
The only games on that list I care about already have superior PC version. Only decent looking PS2 exclusive is Ape Escape.
>JRPGs
Let's not.
>any of those games
>superior PC version
hahahaha
you started gaming in 2010 lil homie
>GTAs
>Bully
>not superior on PC
Okay, zoom zoom.
Bully certainly isn't. The frick are you smoking?
>more content and better graphics don't count
I hate consoleBlack folk so much.
you can't be serious with bully. they had to refund because of how shit it was, and i'm still not sure if they ever fixed it.
He's no doubt too young to remember GFWL
Is that shit still enabled for GTA4? I remember the last time I played, there was some guide for getting rid of it.
I think it's gone now, but it lingered until some time last year, or something stupid like that.
You Black folk living in the past or something? Because at this moment I can get Scholarship Edition on PC with more content and improved graphics compared to PS2.
>b-but
I don't give a shit about what you had available x years ago.
>repeating himself because nobody cares what he has to say
>zoomer mindset
bully on PC still shits itself on 1080p, and needs multiple shitty mods to keep it afloat, which might work half the time. You couldn't have chosen a worse example if you'd tried.
I told you to leave hours ago. Are you done responding to your own posts yet?
Seethe, ye olde zoomie. PS2 games were shit back then and are shit now.
>ye olde zoomie
low quality bait
ConsoleBlack folk are the OG zoomers, especially Halogays.
>can't follow conversation
We are talking PS2, homosexual.
>I can also emulate the Xbox360 and Wii
Why would I play the more power hungry version running through emulator instead of native PC?
Why do I need native PC when I can just get shit for free
>techlet can't pirate on PC
Great argument.
Lol y’all started sperging over Bully? I can also emulate the Xbox360 and Wii versions if I want to and get Scholarship Edition up in this b***h
Y’all have no taste, go play ur battle simulators and Last of Us clones
Friday the 13th Killer Puzzle is free until it’s removed on the 23th. Don’t buy the DLC since most of the content is unlocked via progression and the other content will probably be either discounted further/given for free as well.
How would Ganker feel about a Steam Deck mini?
>same processing power

would you buy?
speakers
why the frick are there even speakers on it
the same reason cheap ass phones have speakers
>"it has speakers"
I doubt the majority of deck users play without bluetooth earbuds
>worse battery life
It's not great as is. It's fine for old school emulation but for anything that needs some graphical chops/above 15ish W it drains pretty quick.
I'd rather see next gen/iteration of the deck doing something with silicon reach slightly better performance at current power draw, and make incremental improvements to runtime/lower power draw for current performance/games.
I think what we have now in terms of power is the minimum I'd personally accept.
>same processing power
Sure
>smaller screen size but OLED
U serious? That’s not a selling point, if I wanted an OLED display so bad I can just dock it to my OLED TV
>worse speakers
Lol why bother
>worse battery life
Lol baka seriously why bother, would prob die in an hour running Terraria
>$299 128gb NVMe
Wouldn’t be worth buying even with the reduced price and upped internal memory. For like 500 bucks not including tax u can get the base model and a 1TB card if u search and can get a good deal. Well aware I’d still be spending 200 extra but I’d still have my decent speakers and battery life and way well over 128GB
Perhaps they could market it to the cheap normies
no trackpads, no buy
it is 2023 (6 years since the switch released) and it still doesn't have netflix or even an official web browser.
maybe nintendo got mad at netflix for the leaked zelda shit
people still watch netflix in 2023?
Lewd yet SFW art
Switch has no good games.

Good little bawd
posting your hand + deck in every deck thread for attention isn't a healthy hobby anon
give it back Jamal
My steam deck was taken away 🙁
Anyways, here’s my list of games I plan on emulating. Any other suggestions?
Get the native PC version of the simpsons hit and run with the lucas mod loader thingy, it's way better. There's guides on pcgw and youtube.
>yfw the steam deck made the switch borderline irrelevant
>irrelevant
>haven't stop talking about it for 6 months
>Switch has flopped
It’s over. The Deck has won the war.
Can someone explain me the appeal of an Xbox hueg sized "handheld" if I already own a PC?
Don’t find the size particularly large but I have normal-sizes hands. I like playing games away from my PC- or picking stuff up on the go and having my progress synced back to my PC. It’s not for everyone and especially not for small-wristed plebs that have to make tough financial decisions around what to buy/ play as opposed to having it all at your disposal. To each their own
it's for when you get tired of sitting at a desk for 8 hours
I'm surprised Steam doesn't have this character in their points shop. Their points shop sucks. I have over 100k points and nothing good to spend them on
I don't want people to jack off to my profile
flop
how to play hgames on mine?
not possible unfortunately
I have a kind of very specific setup because I'm an autistic ass. My Dolphin installation is set to sync savestates and saves between Deck and PC through Syncthing. Now, I'm trying to setup PrimeHack so that it'll fetch saves and states from the main Dolphin folders instead of its own, so that I can have them in a single folder. For that I've made symlinks both on Windows and on the Deck. While on Windows this works perfectly, on the Deck it results on PrimeHack crashing as soon as I start Metroid Prime. Any advice on what I'm doing wrong?
Just setup a nfs share you dingus.
That's not my problem, the sync itself works and I want the saves on both devices anyway. what I'm having issues with is PrimeHack not recognizing the symlink, trying to recreate its own folders instead and crashing because they already exist (or at least this is what I think it's happening)
FRICK THAT WAS SO EASY. Just needed to add ~/.var as permission to PrimeHack with FlatSeal
why not use ludsavi

shitted
I love playing Video Games on my Valve Steam Deck
who's getting the next one?
Replying to this post before you delete it.
why would I delete it? We're all allowed to make threads here, and I am sure at least a few of us think the steam deck warrants further discussion
Who's making the next steam deck thread?
there are literally 6 steamdeck and steamdeck adjacent threads up right now
and i'm every one of them
deck 3 for me
hmm, seeming very flopped in here
