I was skeptical about the new Terminator game.
But now I am a believer.
Syrian Kino-flict is back
Thus far it seems really good.
One could argue that it is to much like the previous games but that isn't really a negative.
Freeform roads were a later design, happened in 3. Early on roads were player made with connection piece using its own carrier.
Does this have any base building? Steam images makes it look like no.
it doesnt
Nope its Nu-Com tier bullshit.
>RTS
>Nu-com
Imagine being this brain damaged
the Syrian Warfare devs got pulled from the project because they wouldn't denounce the Ukrainian War
Project got handed to some bong devs I think
That looks just like syrian warfare down to the low res, low polly graphics and UI
damn dungeons 4 is expensive. i liked 2&3 but this is way too much for a casual base-buildier
dling the Solium Inferno demo. Please be good
have you played the original?
would like to hear your thoughts on how similar/different the remake is
if you did*
i tinkered with the original years ago but never really got to grips with the mechanics. this new one has some nice presentation but the mechanics feel geared more towards multiplayer so probably not my thing.
The original was pretty much meant to be played in multiplayer as well, so that makes sense.
Having played the demo and looked at footage of the original for 20 whole seconds, it seems the mechanics are pretty similar, just nicer looking. Biggest change i saw is the new one has pespoke characters for your Archfiend instead of a point build for a custom one, though they mention a "reliquary system" that will apparently add back some customisation in the full version.
tried the demo but doesn't really seem that interesting as a single player game
in multiplayer it might be cool with the intrigue and backstabs and so on, but might be difficult to find people willing to play it
Just played this one.
It seems like a very faithful adaptation of the original, for better or worse, except with a much better presentation and not shackled to the moronic engine of the original. These devs know how to make a digital board game and it shows. The mechanics are tight with plenty of ways to create tension, but a possible downside is that it's the kind of game that gets less fun when people start metagayging and I don't really see it doing much to avoid that.
One minor nitpick that did annoy me even if it's not all that important, is that the 3D models of legions and praetors basically all look the same on the battlemap, regardless of their actual artwork. I'd love to see more variety there in the release version. If I have a unit of infernal cavalry lead by a spooky wizard, I don't want them to look like generic infantry dudes lead by a generic big dude in armor.
Absolutely nothing
>Pioneers of Pagonia
>there are quite some Black folk in the artworks
>it won't be that bad and it's a traditional settler clone, so I'll give it a chance
>designate buildings etc
>9 Black folk and 1 white person leave the ship
>alt+f4
I fricking hate videogames.
How's the gameplay?
Moe Settlerry than last Settlers
Remind me of phantom brigade last fest
>helper npc giving you tutorial is a woman
>procgen pilots are black, black, and black
>I fricking hate videogames.
Nope, you're just a racist.
t. doesn't live around blackies
Neither do you. You just seem them every day because you can't stop browsing /misc/.
link sisters?
im soooo tired of all the bigots!
>If you don't like equal representation of races you're a racist!
No, not that way!!!
>bends over backwards to be politically correct inside a video game
>muh racism
They wont even put enough effort into writing for it to make sense.
It reminds of the cartoons back in the day, that randomly just went: ".. and remember kids, doing meth is bad".
People in gamedev are homosexualS.
I think you might have brain problems.
You've shown the triggered snowflakes again, mighty warrior.
it was kind of nice, but didn't the original settlers have freeform building and then generated roads instead of having to draw the roards? that really took away from the experience for me (played through the demo)
there is also no prospecting for minerals, but it was on the list of to-dos in early access (sometime next year)
it might or might not be good, kind of too early to tell, but being forced to build roads is kind of moronic
Stronghold DE got a new demo, pretty good since its more Stronghold
Played that for a bit last night. Seemed just fine but not sure if it's worth paying for what's basically Stronghold HD with controls you can rebind and better video options.
The "hard" mission is just mad gay, the gigaBlack person fire event wiped out 2/4 of my graneries, my market, 4 farms, and 4/5 houses. The -5 happiness bandit homosexuals also keep fricking spawning on-top of each other. Still beat it on my first try by building a gate in the SW and SE corner then spaming archers until I had 35ish, and litterally not building any more defences.
Again? It's getting inconvenient to have that event so often. I picked up Mars Tactics (the last demo was really rough), and Cobalt Core. Unsure if I'll find time for them.
Alright, Mars Tactics is still rough and doesn't run so well on my machine but looks like it could become a fine ass game. Cobalt Core is cute, clever, lean, and soulful, I want it.
If Mars Tactic strategic layer really delivers its gonna be great. Taking/liberating POWs, using space shuttles for bombing or transport etc all seem like great addition to xcom formula
tried warbits+, looks like a good enough advance wars clone, with all the "enemy rocket in the centre of the mountain-filled map" and "first opponent is in a winter domain" shenanigans
no proper naval/air warfare in 6 avaliable missions, sadly
a couple of smaller additions to the formula w/ the ability to combine wounded units, a new ranger unit (long ranged infantry) and the ability to rewind moves in SP (havent played too much of advance wars, so im not sure if some of those changes were introduced in some of the AW games)
heavy infantry only heals 1hp/turn in cities, while light tanks heal 2hp/turn, that was kinda weird
Is that Foundry game any good? Haven't had the chance to try it out yet.
If you liked Satisfactory then honestly I find it a much needed improvement.
>Randomly generated maps
>Can choose which sides of the buildings are in/out parts.
>Everything on a grid.
Downside
>Cartoon grapgics.
>Buildings lack the detailed animations and charm of Satisfactory.
>Everything needs to be build on foundation blocks for some reason.
I haven't unlocked power polls yet and it seems like power just distributes to all buildings on foundation blocks. idk if it's cause it's a demo.
dungeons 4 seems pretty nice, although I haven't played the other games
i failed the haven mission in terminator on realistic difficulty. that was quite hard.
You can't beat robots irl
I just want to find a really fun /vst/, is that too much to ask? Everywhere I look things are extremely derivative or extremely autistic or both.
>or extremely autistic
If you didn't max out your autism, you do not belong here.
>extremely derivative
That's strategy games for you. You either get endless remakes/remasters/spiritual successors, or wacky experiments that combine colony survival with roguelite deck building and bullet hell. Pick your poison.
One rougelite strategy with deckbuilding please
I will be playing these after work while drinking many Stella Artois beers
Ascent to Ashes (game project of a guy who did rimworld mods) got a demo. Im gonna check it out. Looks like more combat/tactics focused Rimworld
it doesnt have any content at the moment
Just played Mars Tactics demo.
Its a worthy Xcom successor, the missions are hard and interesting. The strategic layer also seems like an improved version of classic
Just played Interregnum Chronicles. Pretty good XCOM/Wasteland type game. Enemy AI is a bit weird though, they seem to hyperfocus on one character and ignore everything else even to their own detriment.
I liked the Dungeons 4 demo.
Generous demo content and the gameplay was as i remembered 3. Writing's the same as 3 for better or worse.
45 bucks is though though. Sound design, smoothness of animation, like, production value things, not sure if it matches the price.
Might have tightened up for launch though i dont know.
>cobalt core
furgay game
Yes. It's also fns, and that makes it ok
I liked songs of conquest, but the combat feels a bit too simple without being able to command your units just a little bit more
the writing and and such seemed pretty dogshit though, hopefully placeholder, but unlikely
there is still multiplayer as saving grace I guess
frick I mean songs of silence duhh
Songs of Conquest also has dogshit writing though.
>roguelite
DROPPED, in fact never picked up
>Mars Tactics
Blend of oldCOM and nuCOM with a gimmick around stealing AP via suppressing units with attacks. Currently a pre-alpha which crashed halfway into the first mission, might want to wait for a more stable build if you can't run it.
>Terrytorial Disputes
An obviously C&C inspired (in aesthetic, building construction style and building power supply mechanic) tower defence with procedural map generation and a big tech tree of upgrades to unlock. You spend exp gained from runs in the tech tree to buy upgrades you will then research in the game proper, and you can choose to spend money to expand the map, pushing back the enemy spawn and getting more room to work with.
>IDUN
RTS/tower defense hybrid where you protect a mining drill from hordes of aliens. You can move turrets and a hero unit around (difference being that turrets instantly teleport to their destination while heroes move and shoot their way there). You can provide fire support to relieve certain chokepoints and build additional drills to mine more resources, which will award you with a random gift (pick one of three) at certain intervals. Would recommend turning voices off because it's using AI voices that sound like intentionally bad voice acting, and not in a fun, cheesy way.
>Blend of oldCOM and nuCOM with a gimmick around stealing AP via suppressing units with attacks.
Also terrain destruction more prominent than any Xcom style game i ever saw. Cant wait to dig trenches in fully released game, hopefully battlefieds/maps will be persistent
>IDUN
>RTS/tower defense hybrid
I like these.
Thanks for rec!
>Would recommend turning voices off because it's using AI voices that sound like intentionally bad voice acting, and not in a fun, cheesy way.
Actually interested in how that sounds packaged in an actual game instead of separate audio samples heard in a vacuum
I've dropped like 10 hours into The Crust demo. Very promising.
really nostalgia enjoyed https://store.steampowered.com/app/2529770/Chromosome_Evil_2/
its like one of those 2008 flash games, mite be coo
Anyone got Overlode to work? I got stuck on the intro screen, but the devs have acknowledged it on the forums and are supposedly trying to fix it.
