what are the odds?
I thought they limited it so you could only be in the next fest once? Why is Balatro here again?
it wasnt in the previous one
I don't actually think it was in the previous fest. It just had its demo alongside it. But I don't think it was actually featured in the next-fest page or its related promo stuff.
Balatro chads, which joker composition do you believe is best with the limit of the 5 joker spots you have
Depends
>5 slots
So are we not accounting for editions here or
Baseball card, whatever suit you're flushing, and three uncommons, those don't super matter what
I take Four Fingers every time, it makes straights and flushes a lot more reliable and lets you make some fricky straight flushes (e.g. K 8 7 6 5 is a straight flush as long as the K and three other cards match suit). Hack+Fibonacci is also fun for free multipliers, too bad the deck with no face cards isn't in this demo version.

>Against my better judgement, try out Dread Dawn
>Running the game launches two different programs, one of which is just a small window showing spinning paint cans that doesn't do anything
>Game tells me via popup dialogue box to enable Discrete GPU graphics if the game is stuttery and to close the box, I pick yes or no. No doesn't do anything other than close the dialogue box, and I assume Yes doesn't either. Why not just put one "Okay" option?
>options menu is extremely barebones and the UI and dialogue boxes uses Arial Bold or someshit
>walk around in-game, there's AI art everywhere, even for something as simple as a banner with nothing but text on it
>there are literal Windows desktop screenshots pasted onto the computer screens and they didn't even bother to downscale them so they're sharp as hell and stick out like a sore thumb
>interact with them and they take me to YouTube to watch some 15 top scariest ghost stories video
>close the game
>game doesn't actually close and I have to kill it in Task Manager
It doesn't look like I have a virus but I feel violated. Chinkshit. Not even once.
Exactly how I felt. Nothing seems too off though and if a bunch of people are playing it assuming not bots, then it might be a legit game.
I'm totally not the developer of this brilliant turn-based, almost arcade-like JRPG. Wow, what of we all played it and added it to own wishlist? Good thing there aren't any shills HERE.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2427130/The_Girl_Who_Kicked_a_Rabbit/
looks shit
I know. Buy it when it comes out and I'll hire someone.
Thanks
Just squint
It's pretty overdesigned
Pic related. Not sure what's wrong.
Tried it yesterday, had it freeze and crash on me by the second fight. Couldn't be bothered to play it again.
fine I'll give it a try...
I can't even make out what half of those sprites are
Holy clutter maxxed ui
you should put this game under the "RPG" and "pixel graphics" tags, i searched the entire next fest for pixel art rpgs and didn't find this
here's two pieces of advice;
firstly, trim the intro dialogue, just establish the basics of who lumi is; what's her goal, what's stopping her from achieving her goal, etc.
secondly, fix your game
I'll do that! (Thought I fixed this one already)
Just wondering, are you on a Mac?
windows 10
Thanks. Rules out a theory.
Sorry about that. If you're willing to try it again, I'd really appreciate a screenshot of the bug screen. Or was it a straight up freeze? We might have a memory leak then.
>femoid (subhuman) protagonist
>zero sex appeal
What's the point of using a woman as MC if you're not gonna exploit a woman's only useful asset?
Also, turn based are best played with mouse-only, consider that option when designing the UI. I don't want to press C to end turn, I want to click the end turn button.
It's pretty good with a dualshock 4, but I'll keep arthritis-likers in mind.
That's good, I use a DS4 for action games as well. But do bear in mind turn based games were made to be played with one hand on your dick, and the other hand on your mouse.
I'm not good enough at drawing to make wank-worthy art
I’m at work. Sell it to me
Plays like a JRPG, but the story is short, and you get into the good action real quick.
Enemies drop loot that you can craft with during combat, and you have to consider what they drop and where and when they appear.
In the real levels, you don’t win by killing, but by crafting the ingredients for a powerful, magic lantern.
The music kicks ass.
ESLmaxxing is cute for in-game but it's a bad look on the store page. get one of your fluent english speaking friends to help you rewrite it.
Any line that irks you in particular?
Any demo recommendations based on what I've already downloaded (haven't tried any of them yet)?
Just uninstall underspace right now. Game has the biggest indentity crisis I've ever seen. Just straight up boring and filled with lazily done and paced AI voices. They could've just kept it as text I can scroll through, but instead I have to hear these annoying ass overused AI voices. It's complete cancer. Also runs like complete shit for how it looks
Isn't all the voice acting placeholder since it's a single guy working on it?
Yes
Dev here. I've got a team for organic art assets but voice acting is currently placeholder. It's mostly there for timing and because it's hard to read things in space portions when stuff is happening.
This has come along a fair bit compared to last time I saw a webm on it about a year ago.
Someone once said that a game doesn't look like a game until it does
sounds like a smart man, I'd suck them off
fine, i will download it

when I am dealing with gacha in a game like that i usually have fun just seeing how far I can get without spending anything. As soon as I hit a wall where I'd need money to clear it I uninstall
this tbqh, got a solid 60 hours of enjoyment out of Genshin before I felt any hard gacha pressure, at which point I immediately uninstalled
I've played my fair share of gachas, and i'm tired of getting nickel and dime'd for every single thing.
Frickin limbus might have ruined every other gacha for me, it's so easy to get stuff for free that i ran out of things to buy at one point.
I was excited for this game. It looked like an indie FFT and it was on my list but now that I know it's some fricking gacha shit they can frick right off. I really don't like how this stuff is starting to creep more into PC. There was some other gacha shit game last Next Fest that also disguised itself that looked similar to Dragons Crown.
At this point i'm settling for just a FFT port to pc, indies can't be trusted anymore.
if you want indie FFT, go for Fell Seal
it improves on almost every gameplay aspect of FFT/TO
You aren't the first one to say that, but it's ugly as sin and it bothers me deeply
Wow you weren't kidding
Those are some questionable artistic choices
Just play the last spell or sth, it's not exactly the same but it did it for my tactics itch
I did play and finish it, same with tactics ogre R, really nice games but i want more than one singular game a year
Yeah it's gone already, shame, by it being gacha they will get near no coverage anywhere, legit shot their own leg off.
Don't touch it bro, gachas are radioactive. Playing it for free is cope, the entire game is compromised simply by being a gacha. Gachapeasants are the most buckbroken species in existence.
before I find out for myself, how is it? from the Wuppo dev
I thought it was really charming, however it's probably going to be a shorter game and the demo "shares a lot of content with the full version" according to the devs. Reminds me of Simpsons Hit and Run a bit.
Probably going to buy the OST when it launches.
Can't get it to start.
Got a pink screen with menu audio
gonna try godsworn and millennia when im home from work
any good FPS? not even gonna try Mullet Mad Jack. already got Echo Point Nova

it's weird playing tribes again
it's also weird they didn't just restart Ascend since 3 seems to be trying to be like that but maybe they'll deviant from the competitive focus
VGS Brother
>an arena game that plays like a jet fighter game

Out of Action feels pretty good.
maybe if you're blind and moronic and have never played another deathmatch game in your life
sounds like me
Skimmed the list and added 25 demos. Tried 8 so far
>9 bit armies
Reminded me that RTS games just aren't for me no matter how much I wish they were. If you're into RTS games maybe check it out
>Breachway
Scifi card game, turned me off early on due to how generic it seems. Looks nice I guess.
>Botany Manor
Comfy little puzzle game, it's kind of like an escape room game except instead of escaping a room you're trying to get flowers to bloom.
>Children of the Sun
Interesting aesthetic and story, you're a kid whose dad kills himself due to cult shit, so you take his hunting rifle and go hunt down the cult. The gameplay is you scouting out the level and then firing a bullet and trying to kill all the enemies with it by making it ricochet. Really the game just lets you re-aim the bullet after ever hit, but it still leads to some interesting stuff.
>Corpus Edax
Wish I could like it more than I do. An immsim, very rough (although not the roughest I've seen), I'll probably put more hours into it later but it kind of tired me out, the map is not very well laid out and loading can cause bugs. The devs include a common bugs and how to fix them section in the pause menu though, which is thoughtful.
>DICEOMANCER
Was going to write it off as a boring card game with a comfy artstyle, but it does some stuff that's interesting. I recommend at least playing through the prologue in full before you judge it.
>Dystopika
Cyberpunk city building toy, like townscaper except a lot less impressive.
>Lightyear Frontier
Very nice farming game with a mech. I like that the mech has proper physics and can get knocked over. Again a demo I'm probably going to put more time into.
Oh yeah and Corpus Edax has fully functional mirrors. Amazing what modern technology can do.
>fully functional mirrors
>amazing what modern technology can do
It's a joke you doofus
>9 bit armies
literally nothing new, just play 8 bit armies at this point. i dont know why petroglyph just wont let this antiquated formula go.
>>9 bit armies
>Reminded me that RTS games just aren't for me no matter how much I wish they were
using a shit game as an example isn't really a good way to judge whether you like a genre
I mean just fundamentally they don't click with me.
I appreciate your post, it's well written and has some interesting games in it. I hope you have a nice day, guy.

damn you guy who posted about this the other day
Pacific Drive is alright. Roadside Picnic but you Drive.
Overall it's good, but car maintenance is a little disappointing. Magic putty aside, engine is just one block. I'm not saying it should be turbo autistic with mixing gas and oil, keeping track on each of the spark plugs and oil filter. I think Jalopy had it right: multiple parts under the hood, each has separate durability and affects performance. But that game was hella rough, PD is much more refined and streamlined in a good way so I think it could benefit from a bit more complexity.
Really hope there will be an option to put in my own music right out of the box. And voices over the radio will get annoying. Ophelia certainly did.
Also it should've been a van. I know station wagon is a storm chaser kino car, but van is top comfy. On the other hand, runs don't seem to be long, so there probably won't be much to enjoy the comfyness of the van master plan. And you can hit yourself closing the 5th door.
Also fricking mannequins explode. The bastards.
The demo only lasted an hour.
I want MORE and I want it NOOOOWWWWWwuh.
how's the driving with keyboard and mouse? I only used a controller and feel like the scavenging and inventory would probably feel better just using KB+M
Not that Anon but I played it with KB+M and expected to want to swap to controller but the maximum turn radius of the car is pretty low so your turns aren't particularly sharp. (May change as your car improves, I dunno) It might look a little weird now and then jerking the car from side to side but overall it controls pretty well.
it's not bad but i was expecting way more driving/simulation elements and less scavenging/crafting. It's basically a survival game where you happen to have a car, which you don't even use that much because you just fast travel from one area to the other. Also it starts off with comfy atmosphere but then you have le strong wxman spamming comms bossing you around. Hope that's just for the tutorial/intro parts.
Is it horror? I was really looking forward to it, thinking it will have monster or aliens hunting you down as you flee in your vevhicle. But it's just some spooky environments
There was no horror elements in the demo per se, but there were flying things that tried to steal my car or me, alien abduction style.
As fot mannequins, I stopped by several wrecked car to loot them, started doing my thing and as turn away from a looted car, I see a mannequin that wasn't there before. I decided to whack it with my crowbar but as I got close to it it exploded dealing considerable damage.
I imagine the full game will have spoopy stuff for us to frantically drive away from.

>echo point nova

>Edge of Allegoria
out of action might be the worst deathmatch game i've ever played, terrible sticky movement, your crosshair bounces all over the screen and eventually you just run out of ammo and die. i also couldn't hit a stable 120hz 4k on it, somehow.
toree saturn is a bad 3d sonic game with long levels and no checkpoints
Move Pacific Drive to removed from wishlist
idk how you stuck with it after the barrage of marvel quips when you get the junk car and reach the safehouse. Then there's the godawful HUD you can't turn off ruining, ruining the strong atmosphere the game was having up until then.
i'm incredibly tolerant of whedonesque dialogue-i even liked back4blood
yeah the dialogue was the worst thing about i
Any good puzzle games?
anyone tried millennium? how was it?
i expect nothing good anyways cause paradox
I played Blud last night, great animation but the menus are fricked, hope they fix it before launch.
Feels bad cause I know I'm not going to get a chance to play as many as I want this week
Outcast 2 feels like the first game with pretty graphics but it's poorly optimized, and the first enemies I ran into randomly stopped taking damage from my attacks before taking damage again
It seems cool, but the demo restrictions are some inane fricking bullshit. I won't be getting the game because of them, purely out of spite.
For those unaware, there are "combat", "exploration" and "quest" demos, which are exactly what they sound like. They are limited to 20mins each, and you can only play each one twice. And yes, that includes if you need to restart the game after a crash.
I have the same micro stuttering on Ultra and normal configuration. What engine are they using?
Everything I've read about BeXide Inc. suggests that they are a japanese company. Even their mailing address is located in Tokyo.
What suggests that it is an HK company?
Could someone get the credits of the people listed for working for this game so it won't end up like the Palworld situation filled with Chinese and Indians instead of Japanese (who were just the face for the news propaganda), lmao.
Yup, time to game.
Oh shit new train capacity game?
It's actually the old one, but with a proper english release, I think.
from the screenshots it seems different even though it has the same characters. remaster?
Onii-chan I Think I Wanna Have Your Baby is somewhat janky and has lots of placeholder images, but it's alright. Moe erotic and extremely low IQ but well enough.
Worst thing about it, is if you unpack the files, you'll see at just how terribly they manage their files, even going so far as having straight up duplicate images. Bloat, bloat, bloat.
while playing it i kept having my "this is traced" sensor go off
any nudity?
There are four or so nude images, all of one character in varying states of undress and then taking a shower.
oh that's lame as frick, what a shame. Guess it makes sense they don't show everything on a demo
Wow. Mullet Mad Jack is aggressively mediocre.
>no real boomer shooters
did the genre die? realms deep had loads of them
Caesar's Revenge is one. no idea if its good or not
>Crow Country
Pretty good. You can carry very little handgun ammo tho. And I hope they will get Mila Kunis to voice the protagonist. Would weird seening Meg and not hearing her.
Sex, Please is an experience
Looked absolutely silly. Is it even arousing with how absurd it is?
It's a mix of comedy and horror mainly, the sex is presented in such a dirty way it's honestly not even very arousing, but that's the point.
>Solid, will almost certainly buy at some point

I can second Pepper Grinder. Seems like a good platformer with a fun idea.
My computer can barely run Codex Lost. I hate Unreal Engine.
Articide is incredibly janky, but I'm really liking it
Arcticide*
I approve of killing the arts.
children of the sun is edgy but a cool hitman sniper concept
balatro is my winner thus far
>Balatro
Can't convince myself to play something that's purely gameplay and zero story.
I'll check out Children of the Sun though.
>Can't convince myself to play something that's purely gameplay and zero story
gayest thing I've read on this board so far this year
>Can't convince myself to play something that's purely gameplay and zero story.
good grief, that's like refusing to watch porn if it doesn't have a story
I do this.
you must one very patient coomer
Nah, I just only read doujins
But I do that unironically. Porn games.
porn games are understandable, watching a porn movie for the story is not
My favorite is porn games with actual gameplay.
I actually found a couple in one of the next fests from last year, was invested enough in the gameplay that I forgot there was porn, a welcome surprise.
>Can't convince myself to play something that's purely gameplay and zero story.
lol
lmao, even
>Can't convince myself to play something that's purely gameplay and zero story.
this is bait
Seriously?
anons are ridiculing you but I get you
most video game have a shit tier story, and especially so when it comes to indies
a lot of smaller games are better off without a boat load of exposition and a sappy story because it just takes up space that can be used for what is actually good in the game (the gameplay is hopefully good)
>especially so when it comes to indies
he says when God of Soi Ragnarok won best story award. Honestly the fact that Rocket Raccoon shit deserved nothing
t.zoomer
I hope this guy got his ass beat in high school to make up for all the dumb shit he says
Nah. He'd likely choke out said bullies before thatd ever happen
I hope some bully chad punched him 30 times in the neck and now he gets his revenge by saying dumb shit on podcasts
what dumb shit has he said exactly?
Unlikely. He's a kid who was part of a break-in at his school.
>T.Average David cage enjoyer
tell me why was an underrated master piece 11/10. deserves a remaster and Neil is too underrated as a genius for the hate he gets
this sounds like bait but i understand where he's coming from
i dont have much interest in arcade games for this reason unless they have a strong aesthetic/theme/visual storytelling like metal slug and a concrete end, i dont like score attack or just "get better and better each time" games that end arbitrarily
This. There is a reason these gays aren't just playing Tetris right now.
why play for the story when you could read a damn book anon? games work because of how well they integrate good presentation with stable gameplay. That's it. Anything else is mildly redundant or just an added bonus.the story for Godhand is horrendous, but the combat and the world gene inhabits makes up for it in spades, same could be said of all stylish action games, because the combat and presentation are implemented in both parts of the campaign and bloody palace. to say that story is a necessity for a game to be good is to say that condiments are a requirement for sandwiches to be fully enjoyed. it's just uncultured and naive as hell
>to say that story is a necessity for a game to be good
i didnt say this
>why play for the story
its not like these are discrete elements, they enhance each other
if you've ever played something like magic the gathering and read their design articles you can learn how these aspects can inform each other and inrease enjoyability
more than the sum of its parts
imagine if you had a fighting game but all of the characters were nondescript grey boxes with no distinct visual artstyle outside of some tints to increase readability on par with a normal fighting game
nothing about the visuals enhance the gameplay, so why isnt there a popular 'pure' fighting game based only on hitboxes?
>ahh now THIS is pure gameplay! none of those silly extraneous elements!
Reminds me of the muh functions cope when McCI was released and x or y character wasn't in the roster
I really don't doubt the autism of anti-story gays that they would just like different variations of Pong
What a fricking moron
Smartest post in this thread. morons in here still playin Tetris n shiet. Get me some substance
Bro you're in a demo thread.
I like the interactive dashboard elements.
But this would probably be so much better with some kind of joystick or even VR.
gravity generator ran out of power... anyone know where it is? I can find the other power cells but not this one.
what game
I found it, under the stairs
but now all the items floating around in zero G made a mess.
star trucker.
Do you know where the shock shielding power cell is?
can you walk around your ship when it's traveling?
Yes, and if you break or speed up with the gravity off stuff starts flying around.
You can also EVA to fix external damage.
it's sorta neat but I wish it had some sort of strafing controls because some of the precise movement needed is fricking ass when you have to do it in a 3d space with no strafe
this, game just need better controls overall and an extended tutorial
I was wondering how the frick to respond with the radio and by the time i figured out how unintuitive it was my truck was spinning in space from hitting something because I couldnt figure out how to brake along with the front shutters turned on because of a misclick. I was honestly enraged trying to figure out where the frick the shutter button was which took ten minutes, it was by the shitty radio. Just gave up trying to do the docking part.
Played Abiotic Factor. Despite being branded as a Half-Life inspired survival crafting game, it feels more like Prey with more survival crafting. You're all scientists but you can choose which field you specialize in aka class. Then there are traits that give you positives or negatives like Zomboid though not as varied. The map is fixed and no layout will ever change. Enemy spawns and loot from containers are slightly randomized.
Right now enemies need better animations and LOTS of mechanical bugs need to be addressed. Still good for what it's trying to be. I'm gonna buy it
UE5 is too big dick for my computer's little CPU.
Codex Lost seems alright.
I don't think I like the idea that you need to loot materials to upgrade spells. It should be level based and you should find the spells in the overworld. But devs want you to be locked in the game for hundreds of hours looking for a "crooked toenail" to unlock the last spell.
Any good NEW metroidvanias that don't try to rip off hollow turd? Ultros seems promising but that can't be just it?
9 Sols (not new, but perhaps you never heard of it)
Biogun
Crypt Custodian (not a side scroller)
Yohane's slay the spire at home needs (option toggle) labels for characters because I know jack shit about love live and its quest system asks you to add x cards of specific girl to the deck.
I want to finish the game I'm playing first, but I should be able to start DEMOOING in a day or two.
But let me guess: still can't filter OUT tags/genres?
Aww man, I had 100 dollars ready for this too but my mom found the money and used it for gamble.
just beat her up and force her to prostitute out to get back those $100 for videogames
Why would you need $100
You don't need money for free demos unless it's to buy more data if you're some pitiful fricker with a data cap.
>look at the traditional roguelike tag
>theres only ONE actual roguelike in there
name?
Conqueror Of Time. looks pretty shit
More like Shitfest lololol
But seriously, all these games I'm seeing look like more shovelware to add to the bloat that already is indie gaming. No wonder gaming is on it's way toward a crash.

I liked this, hope the actual game will deliver
No sex tag?
>story rich
to this day I don't understand what that term is supposed to mean
it's code for visual novel
Its a game where skipping the dialogue fricks you over.
it just means it's story-focused
gives me ghost trick vibes nice

>40gb
>have a mostly empty 2TB SSD and gigabit internet
I laugh in the face of 40GB.
Space isn't an issue and I have no data cap. I just don't feel like downloading 40gb for a fricking demo that might last me 15 minutes.
a decent chunk of this site is mutts with 2007 tier shiternet and datacaps
It's like a 2d shitty pixeldshit game asking for a 4000 series when integrated graphic card should do the job easily.
someone posted this https://store.steampowered.com/app/2113850/Spirit_City_Lofi_Sessions/ in a previous thread and I decided to check it out
I'm not sure what the purpose of a focus tool is (I'm probably not autistic enough to need this shit) but the environment is pretty nice and it's got a decent amount of options. I'd like it just as a wallpaper.
needs graphics settings though so it doesn't eat 25% of my 1080 while active and so I can turn off this shitty bloom
It's not the first one I've seen that tries to emulate the "lofi hip hop radio beats to relax/study to" feel.
Saw a SFW dating sim lite that's meant to be a study tool I've seen called "Study Time Aya".

That's unfortunate. It's the only fps I had on my list that has a demo this time around.

Lmao frick off, hope your shitty esports die like all the others
There is, though. Are you fricking dumb? The demo was fricking garbage but there was obviously a skirmish mode.
you play custom game and add AI
its still not good though. i played one game with each race against easy ai and saw all i needed to see.

>astral party
100% OJ with actual graphics? picked up
tried the demo with a friend, its got some charm but its really rough, cards are uninteresting and the gameplay is just kinda boring and slow
maybe the full game will be a bit better but it comes out in like 3 weeks so i doubt much will be changed
typical HK slop
>cards are uninteresting and the gameplay is just kinda boring and slow
to be fair... that sounds just like 100% OJ if it isn't on 4x speedup
Finally found another transporter in Codex Lost.
I'm glad I picked a sorcerer since it feels quite a bit like Dark Souls sorcery, and I don't trust white people with action combat.
So yeah, experiences with this game might differ.
Any immersion sims worth a damn, or stealth titles? Is there a way on this page to filter OUT certain tags, rather than just include? 75% of the games are roguelikes/survivalmultiplayercrafting/VNs.
>stealth
Yes but they are hiding
Has anyone Tried Dual Corp yet?
yeah. it wasn't glaringly bad. it has a m&b aim left/up/right on the mouse and LMB type system though and that's a shit system made for controllers poorly translated to a PC. I don't hate it in m&b but it bothered me in this game for whatever reason. Anyway, probably better on controller. Does not support 32:9.
>$600 job

is this vaporware at this point?
I hope not, I mean look at cygni: all guns blazing. I had that on my wishlist for I don't know how many years and now it seems like it's really gonna release
thanks, I try to always keep my lists updated
good list, I added fields of mistra, eyuden chronicles, duck detective and domeking cabbage
>not adding Pennyblood
to be fair it's not gonna be anywhere close to release for at least 3-4 years, but still
why is deltatroon there
>hazlenut bastille

>mina the hollower
sure forgot this was a thing, shovel knight devs silence is DEAFENING... DOE
God i hope eiyuden doesn't suck since konami is holding the Suikoden 2 remaster at gunpoint for it, and Metal slug tactics being at dead silence is such a red flag
>God i hope eiyuden doesn't suck
I'm looking forward to it too, just temper your expectations anon. Chances are it'll be a pile of dogshit, but there's a non-zero chance it could maybe be ok.
I can handle the Octo-graphics, so i really just need a lot of combination attacks and not completely unlikable characters, it's not a tall order and i'm still worried about it
Did you like the kangaroo character in Eiyuden Rising?
I honestly didn't even play Rising, i want the main game, it's like the Bloodstained ritual of the night / curse of the moon type of deal.
>tako no himitsu
>transliterated japanese name

DRRRRRROPPPED
god damnit of course it's fricking pozzed
if you couldn't tell it was a western game by the cover that's on you t b h
>Anomaly Collapse
Wait, when the frick did this become furshit? Could have swore it had humans in it.
>wheelchair-bound anthro alligator romance visual novel
I've seen enough for a while.
I have found one (1) english original visual novel that wasn't a fricking irony poisoned dogshit "BUT IT'S SO GOOFY!" piece of garbage that calls VNs 'dating simulators' and was likely made by people who have never read a visual novel.
AND IT WAS ABOUT FRICKING CRIPPLES
IT MADE ME CRY
we're all familiar with katawa shoujo yes
there is another one but Ganker would never accept Mice Tea on premise alone
How about a platformer?
> Metal Slug Tactics
Might as well be vaporware at this point...
>check Ancient Weapon Holly

Fricking Japan, I swear to god...
I liked the dead cells/hollow knight ripoff, nice art style
made by a Chinese Web3 developer
>mfw no repeat demos
Did Steam change a rule or something?
yeah ages ago
yep, people were predictably abusing the system so they cracked down on them
Yeah, Like 3 years ago you moronic fricking tranimal.
rude, trans people arent animals
>chasmal fear
what a neat idea for a camera in a horror game, too bad the game itself is pure shit
Yeah I think it is successful as a proof of concept but that is probably the roughest demo I've played in one of these fests. The opening narration is pure soul though, sounds like two highschoolers making a knockoff bioshock game
>Dungeonborne looked interesting
>Its a Tarkov clone
Why do they do this to us.
to appeal to my tastes
PvEvP is pure kino
but here's a single player first person dungeon crawler that's part of Next Fest
https://store.steampowered.com/app/908360/Monomyth/
Oh, it does look interesting. Thanks.
any other First-person dungeon crawlers you stumbled on? That whole genre just clicks for me
Bro, that shit is going to take 5 more years. It's a passion solo project. When it releases, it's going most likely to be great... WHEN it releases...
>WHEN
if
It's releasing this year. Check the kickstarter devblogs.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1171980/Neverlooted_Dungeon/
Waiting for the second wave of Dark & Darker inspired games where they actually have some new ideas instead of just making D&D again.
Dungeonborne has a player marketplace and dedicated PVP arena at least
Still waiting for combat that doesn't feel like shit
>movement and attacks are sluggish and lack impact.
>every container takes 10 years to open
>no healing?
Why can't Mordhau just make this game instead.
This is one of the different types I'm waiting for. Having simple combat like D&D has its benefits but having fast paced more difficult combat would be nice for variety. There could also be a game that goes the complete opposite way with even slower combat but more hardcore survival mechanics and focus on preparation.
Here's mine. Any recommendations and hidden gems so far?
Wishlisted:
Homeworld 3
Out of Action
Stormgate
Worldless
Also Played:
9-Bit armies
Dunegonborne
Breachway
Gatekeeper
Global Conflagration
Pepper Grinder
Welcome to Paradize
Broken Arrow
Aden
Codex Lost
Pacific Drive
Try out Children of the Sun. Neat little puzzle-esque game with you shooting a single bullet and having to reshoot from each hit
>Children of the Sun
it's sort of like Superhot but just with a single bullet. Not bad for a find the angles puzzle game.. I also really like #DRIVE Rally.. cartoon looking rally racer with Arnold yelling at you the entire time. It just has good arcade drift mechanics
oh shit you can play other stages in the demo?
Really wanted to like it more than I did but it's pretty neat for what it is.
Me neither. Whoever the people handling Homeworld over at Gearbox are, I feel like they respect the IP. Deserts of kharak was pretty good and HW3 is shaping up very nicely also.
That was in the last Next fest, not this one. Already on my wishlist. Seems like an actually competently made CnC successor. I'd be very happy if it turned out to be a true sequel to CnC3.
>Homeworld 3
I can't believe no one's played the demo.
Tempest Rising
I didn't like Stormgate, but I like TR
>Wishlisted:
>Homeworld 3
>stormgate
are u ok?
how did you like Codex Lost? I thought the controls were a bit jank, and having you walk as the default was a bit awkward, especially with the run button placement not being on the left stick or a better place
How long is the demo? I swear I've been playing for 10 hours. It's pretty good for a WRPG. It runs in slow-mo on my computer though.
>It runs in slow-mo on my computer though
yea just based on the filesize alone I could tell it's unoptimized as frick. UE5 games in general are pretty graphically intensive
It runs better than Lords of the Fallen, but that's just saying it gets above 10 fps and doesn't crash
What the everliving frick is going on with Monomyth's mouse controls? This shit has some kind of reverse mouse acceleration where the mouse artificially slows down if I try to turn fast, but swings around wildly when I barely move the mouse. Is this a bug or some truly profound moronacy?
Felt like it slowed down in safe areas but increased where enemies can fight you, there was something off about it.
I didn't move from the room you first spawn in. Also seems like only the X-axis is broken while looking up and down works fine. Dev's commented on the issue on the steam forums but demo's straight up unplayable before a fix. Was the one I looked forward to the most too.
it's a bug
the guy is trying to nail it down
https://steamcommunity.com/app/908360/discussions/0/4201364375110766107/)
guess I'll give it a try again in a few days once it's fixed
it's fixed now (B4.0.2e version)
>play this demo for an early access game
nah, don't think I will
Any decent puzzle or investigative games out there? These things usually have one or two of those.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2544570/LumineNight/ i liked this one
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2466900/The_Posthumous_Investigation/ this one is kinda alright
Thanks
What was that weird looking game set on a spacesihp someone posted yesterday?
this one?
No, it looked pretentious
oh the one with the dude in bandages? Can't remember the name
Mouthwashing?
that's the one, thanks
So what is the point/goal of Dreamcore?
I walked around for 30 min and nothing happened.
Did I miss something or is the game just the "horror atmosphere"?
dude it's LIMINAL
it made me piss and shit my pants extremely badly as frick my sir
Anon said that something does apparently follow you, but it's not very intrusive. Otherwise you just walk around, if you like that kind of environment.
There are apparently 3 endings to the demo and at least one monster, you can also get a flashlight to explore the dark areas.
I didn't see any of that because I got bored after like 40min.
Could be fun with more puzzles and less endlessly walking around, the environments are kind of cool, especially the very big rooms.
I found the flashlight and the balls looking at you, but what is the point, they do nothing. Its just a walking sim but with "HORROR".
if you're spooped by liminal spaces like me... it can be really unnerving. Not sure if they even have monsters or shit like that or if it's just creepy environments though
Any good demos for the 'eck?
Tried out Never Grave, It's pretty fun, so far. My only problem with the game is how bad the audio crackles every time you visit the church and it persists until you reset the game. I'm not too familiar with 'rougelike' so any recommendations would be great.
>they still haven't fixed the audio issues
ugh
is it as blatant a hollow knight ripoff as it comes off as?
Never played hollow knights so i wouldn't know. like I said, I'm not too familiar with the genre.
Only the art style is from Hollow Knight.
The gameplay is more like Dead Cells with crafting tacked on.
>EVOTINCTION
A hacking stealth game with slight RPG elements. I didn't like it honestly. First of all, I already don't like MGS-style cutscenes where they take away control from you every two steps. But in this game they do it without having any interesting cutscenes or dialogue. Also I'm not sure how I feel about a stealth game where all the enemies are robots. It's cool that you can hack them to do specific movements, leading to some neat strategies, but other than that I prefer humans. This is going off my wishlist.
>PACIFIC DRIVE
Pretty cool. I thought it would be more like The Long Drive though, where you just drive, survive and experience crazy stuff. I didn't know it was mission based, which to me seems uninteresting. Still, I'll keep an eye on it.
>CHILDREN OF THE SUN
My favorite of the three. Very cool art style and the gameplay seems like something I can get into. It needs control setup though because my mark button doesn't work.
Reminder to ignore all the /agdg/ gays. Buy an ad, we're not your personal tester army
What else is this trash heap good for than marketing your game
for telling you to kys, frogBlack person
What are you gonna do about it Miguel
>frogBlack person is a tranime gay too

Being honest about shilling is okay, we agreed on this while you were at school
who are "we"? you and your discord? go back to grooming little boys in "school" you love so much
I will try out any Anon's game as long as it looks fun. This Steam Next Fest is full of shitty survival craft and/or farming sims i won't play anyway.
How come some demos have portrait images shown from the get go while others have to be downloaded from steamdb?
Probably some kind of issue on the developer's end
demos I've played
>Arco
Tactics game where you give orders while the game is paused then watch the orders be executed in real time. a bit like frozen synapse or laser squad nemesis, just much simpler.
The ghost/morality system seems like an interesting twist (if you're a bad boy your guilty consciousness spawns ghosts that chase you even when the game is paused).
>Synergy
City builder on an alien world where you gradually research the plant life to learn to survive while sending out expeditions to investigate events around the city (like frost punk). Very nice art.
>Star Trucker
Blue collar space job where a lot of things can go wrong in interesting ways. Very interactive wienerpit full of instruments and dodads you can fiddle with.
Not a full on space simulation though, truck handles a bit more like a plane than a spaceship in a vacuum.
>Millennia
Civilization clone, 60 turn limit... not enough to really get a feel for if this is actually more fun than regular civ
>Underspace
Freelancer inspired. Very slow start...
But the space storms and monsters were cool
Is Space Trucker VR only?
no but it does feel a bit odd to control with mouse and keyboard only.
for non-VR the ideal would probably be a combination of mk + joystick
>Underspace
>Very slow start...
grabbed it but will uninstall without having played, thanks
>truck handles a bit more like a plane than a spaceship
Try turning off flight assist.
where do you do that?
wish the demo allowed saving and loading so you could skip the tutorial and experiment more.
Center button when you look down in the wienerpit iirc.
Anyone play the demo for that nun game? Is it any good? What's the actual gameplay? The trailer doesn't make it clear.
>nun game
Explain further. Need a game title and can investigate further.
star trucker has SOUL
It really does. I enjoyed the music and even the radio truckers, and I really like it when space sims let you walk around the ship and fiddle with shit. It's the main reason I still follow star citizen development.
Any Turn based tactics games this next fest? Also I didn't get to try Mart Tactics last year so if anyone can tell me their thoughts that would be nice
Is there anything out there similar to Recettear?
I want to run a cozy little shop while making money and sending adventurers to their doom to get me stuff.
There was a recettear-like years ago but I forget what it was called
It's called Moonlighter and it lets you dungeon crawl + manage a shop
nta but moonlighter sucks. it's worse than recettear in every single aspect
yeah i watched a friend play it and it looked very boring, it is the only recettear-clone to my knowledge though
It's the first game I remember playing where the bad optimization at release actually made me refund. It was fricking absurd.
yeah, got it in a bundle last month on the cheap after seeing it had the same composer as Death's Door, but the shop part is bad and the dungeon part isn't good.
moonlighter is very lazy, doesn't hold a candle to recettear imo
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2286780/Aeruta/
Might be the kind of thing you're after.
I want to try this, but it's also Chinese.
There hasn't been a Chinese game I've played that I've ever enjoyed, so you are probably saving yourself some time
warm snow?
NTA but I just played this demo and the game is pretty fun, it obviously wasn't QC'd in english (text constantly goes out of the boxes) but it's pretty fun. With a bit of polish it could end up a solid game.
>Oucast demo
>weights a ton
>3 separated segments, each can be replayed only twice
>jetpack feels like shit
Yeah, no, thanks. What a waste of nvme resource.
not the dev, and it's already had a demo at a previous next fest, but FRICK IT. I LIKE THE GAME SO I'M GONNA SHILL MY ASS OFF FOR IT
If you like any of the following
>controlling two characters with one controller
>mmo-style mechanics
>proper character placement/positioning
>challenging bosses
then OH BOY do I have the game for you. Previous demo version used to have mechanics lifted straight out of FFXIV, but they've since adopted their own mechanics for fights. Haven't played anything like this since maybe Aarklash: Legacy, so if you have any interest this will be right up your alley.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2166690/Savage_Ultimate_Boss_Fight/
>Haven't played anything like this since maybe Aarklash: Legacy
last next fest had rabbit and steel, a roguelite with mmo mechanics
>last next fest had rabbit and steel, a roguelite with mmo mechanics
I tried it and it wasn't bad, Savage appeals to me because you don't need to round up friends to play, it's completely enjoyable as a single player experience
Can't believe I'm actually asking about this, but I like weird horror games enough to bite the bullet - is there an actual point to the Sex, Please demo? I fricked around the room and went to Hell for a bit and then got back. Now I'm just kind of stuck here. Am I missing something?
nope, apparently that's the extent of the demo. You'd figure they would at least give a splash screen saying you finished the demo, right?
Man. And you can't even get the sex doll out of the package. Lame.
yea I figured there was some secret way to unlock it, but after cooming on pretty much everything I gave up
tried the orc city builder game because the idea of building a vicious orc settlement appealed to me.
Why the FRICK are the orcs voiced by default AI voices in the moronic intro cutscene and whenever you click on them, I had to immediately uninstall the game.
dunno, my guess is the dev is using them as a placeholder until they can hire some actual VAs for it
>A game that perfectly replicates an extensive OD&D campaign.
never ever
I'm sure the "negs"fest will still.be full of pozzed games.
How many hours did it take you to come up with that, sport?
>play Fragrance Point
>psychedelic adventure game
>ends with a migraine due of the trippy music and colors
frick my old man brain
saw this in another thread, figured I would check if any of the demos have these qualities:
A game that perfectly replicates an extensive OD&D campaign. With procedural dungeons, Villages, strongholds and Lairs to be found. Loot is your priority and the main objective is contained in a megadungeon, hard to conquer by the Beginning of the game, leading you to explore the larger overworld builds and amass wealth and levels and only then end the game.
Post'em
Cryptmaster gives me so much joy just by existing.
>typing
Haven't tried Cryptmaster and Astral Party yet.
>Wishlisted
Balatro
Children of the Sun
Crow Country
Frogun Encore
Aden
>Ignored
Creature Keeper
Heart of Crown Online
Summer House
>Undecided
the rest
played all the stuff I had installed. didn't really like any of them
>Ultros
style over substance, world doesn't feel real or interesting somehow, full of purple prose, too much dialogue, meh. removed from wishlist
>Abathor
boring, derivative, generic, hurtboxes are jank and certain animations lunge you toward an enemy to get hit
>Reus 2
bad
>Hyper Drill
seemed decent but it's fricked
>Echo Point Nova
shit. ugly. somehow boring despite having a hoverboard and voxel destruction
>Demon Spore
boring as hell. controls aren't responsive enough. stupid unnecessary slow level transition screens
>Underspace
unfortunately it's shit. player controls like a medieval wheelbarrow, dialogue and voice acting sucks, wants me to sit around listening to uninteresting talking crabs instead of just letting me be in fricking space
>Cryptmaster
interesting but the execution feels off. I'd prefer just a Typing of the Dead dungeon crawler
>Aleph
no
>Monomyth
something about this is jarring as frick. mouse movement is choppy and weird. whole thing is off and nauseating
>Chasing the Unseen
pure ass
>XF Extreme Formula
not for me
>Flock
looks nice, but there's not much in the way of gameplay
>Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip
pretty cool but also slightly boring. reminds me of Simpsons Hit and Run
>echo point nova
>bad
found the agdq sneethe Black person
I thought the ship controls in underspace were great. Super responsive, especially after how bad Starfields were.
Look forward to my review of Crown Wars, I'm downloading it now.
I wanted Monomyth to be good bros… what’s with the janky controls on this demo? First demo was way better
I'm holding off on playing it for now, just gonna pray they fix and polish this shit before release
>Children of the Sun
Pretty good, it's more of a puzzle game than a shooting one but I enjoy that more. Aesthetics are also very neat.
>Mullet Mad Jack
Aesthetics are nice too, but the gameplay is a bit boring. Managed to get through all the levels in the demo by just spamming LMB and RMB randomly. Also, almost 15GB for a boomer shooter demo, what the actual frick.
So, since it seems a given that survival crafting is going to be the thing they shove down out throats going foward, what would say is the best survival crafter of the fest?
it's unbelievable how much of that shitslop is churned out and how much the cattle keep slurping it up
>follow the permanently pinned "collect x resource so you can craft your way up the 'tech' tree"
king terry had said it best
Only thing I'd be interested in is a Subnautica-like but in another setting.
Or maybe Don't Starve 2 if they improved the combat.
I enjoyed Abiotic Factor, gonna pick that one up with my friends when the full version drops
can it actually be played solo or the tag only exists to bait suckers because it looks just like another 1st person coop survival?
Astral Party is surprisingly fun. Hope the full version has decent map and card variety.
Anyone tried that 26gb chinese demo "Back to School"?
tried the other chinkshit with zombies at a school
still not convinced it wasn't a crypto miner or made my pc part of xi's personal botnet
Really like horror games and played a couple of them so far
>Mouthwashing
Really dig the style, and intrigued by the story so far. But kinda wish its more than just the walk around and pick stuff and talk to people kind of game. Really wish there's combat or survival horror elements. Didnt put in my wishlist but i'll keep an eye on it
Also Anya cute
>Crow Country
I actually love this one, love the aesthetics, and gameplay. Aiming needs some getting used to though. Straight into my wishlist and definitely will buy day one
Anyone got other horror recs?
I haven't played it yet there is a Hollowbody demo, looks like it might scratch that itch
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2123640/Hollowbody/
>envelope
would be interesting if the demo was longer than 2 minutes. still wishlisted
>Mullet Mad Jack
FPS stylized like a 90s anime OVA, the gameplay gimmick is that you only have 10 seconds to live and get more seconds every time you kill someone. It's very linear though, so you're mostly just barreling through corridors and enemies hitting you doesn't matter much since you heal for each one you kill. The voice acting can sound a bit cringy, but it's appropriate for dubs of the era it's aping.
>Run Pizza Run
You know the carmageddon mod for GTA IV? The one that makes all the cars accelerate to ridiculous speeds and causes total chaos? Yeah it's that but you have to deliver pizzas. And it's not GTA IV.
Tried 4
>lonely space
Expected a system shock clone, Has framerate issues when just walking and when you sprint you randomly teleport forward. Pass
>beyond hanwell
It wasn’t amazing but i’m a sucker for survival horror and it’s set in a hospital. Maybe for $10 i’ll get it
>corpus edax
I genuinely don’t know what i was supposed to do and it didn’t feel good anyway. Pass
>pacific drive
Not bad, but seems to be overhyped. Maybe get on a sale
tried giving the orc game another go with muted voices, don't know why i even bothered
>game resets to 1x molasses speed everytime you complete a tutorial objective
>orcs dont eat or drink and don't get effected by starvation or thirst
>main menu button doesnt work
the glowing reviews are definitely all from fake bugmen ai
What's it called?
Orc Warchief: Strategy City Builder
shouldve known from the esl typos and chinksounding developer
if you couldn't tell it was going to suck just from looking at the ground texture in the screenshots you're a fake gamer
I mean yeah they're disgusting generic assets but I just had to see the execution, too bad the orcs drink alcohol for some reason??
try Synergy, I'm loving it so far
Looks like what's inside a troony's brain
you'd know that wouldn't you
will do, looks neat.
Is this like Against the Storm?
haven't played it sorry
beautiful. looks like a game drawn by Moebius.
vw08
>Berserk Boy
It seems like a fun Megaman X type game. As someone who rarely plays platformers i enjoyed it. Platformer experts will probably find it too easy.
>Lysfanga: The Time Shift Warrior
A nice action/puzzle/tactics? game. You start clearing monsters on a battlefield and then rewind time. Your clone will repeat your previous actions and you can clear something else/cooperate with your ghost. It starts out easy and slowly gets more and more complex. It's fun when your plan comes together but can be frustrating at times.
>BeatSlayer
It's Hades + Crypt of the Necrodancer. Maybe i sucked but the enemy attacks are so badly telegraphed that i dropped this one pretty early on.
>Mulled Mad Jack
I didn't think i will like this one but tried it because of the aesthetics. Despite my boomer reactions i got hooked anyways. It's like Ultrakill/Hotline Miami. Fast paced, low kill time you run to the exit. It's ADHD the Video Game but i think it's gonna be my guilty pleasure
Will try out more demos tomorrow.
>Ultrakill/Hotline Miami
>Breachway
>it's like Infinite Space
>except with cards for battle controls
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2118810/Breachway/
A bit weird.
ENOUGH WITH THE FRICKING CARDS
>those ships
I swear I've seen those a thousand times now. Must be a pre-existing asset that you can purchase.
>cards for battle controls
ok, I'm officially over the cardslop now
>Children of the Sun
I CAN FIX HER! After we exterminate all cultists.
>inb4 cultists were just normal people minding their business
Sword of Convallaria seems nice but I don't think I can get myself invested in a "do your dailies" game again
>game has interesting cover art
>mouse over it
>cards
>Always in the mood for a turn based RPG
>based Mortismal recommends this one
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1658920/Crown_Wars_The_Black_Prince/
Solid demo, and it's coming out in a couple of months.
People that get filtered by cards are brainlets or just assblasted they have to use something other than their controller for once.
>cardslop le good!
go back to /agdg/
enjoy your slay the spire clones bro
Cards are just pure RNG and a crutch for lazy devs who can't be bothered to proper balance their game.
Deckbuilder enjoyers are the true brainlets.
Not all card-based games are bad but IMO they're just lazy. Instead of trying to contextualize the mechanics within the game world you just slap some cards on it.
>mfw so many Unity demos send my GPU fans into overdrive
Is it incompetent devs or the engine?
>pause and minimize game
>fans are still spinning like mad
Always hated that
only actually incompetent engine is gaydot, rest it's pretty much usually a dev issue
they forget to set a framerate limiter so it just goes apeshit and generates thousands of frames per second, same thing happened with the Little Witch In the Woods demo in like the very first Next Fest
people who don't have a driver level or RTSS framerate limiter enabled get what they deserve
Not that anon. But why is this even necessary?
Why do so many games just go into 2000fps to kill the hardware?
Spaghetti code? Devs with no knowledge of the tools? Who knows.
Because the devs are morons.
Unity and Unreal are both shit in different ways about optimization.
>Balatro
Fun game but after a certain point it probably expects me to count cards and I'm too dumb for that (specially the 5th boss). Makes me a bit wary of buying the game with later, harder stuff being impossible for me to beat.
It counts cards for you, you can click your deck to see what's left in it
If you click on your deck, it counts cards for you. Run info also keeps track of hand levels, played counts, and even tells you how it determines specific hands Which is very important vis a vis trousers Joker and similar jokers that use "includes x hand" for effects.
Why are some games cost almost double?
C&C Remastered is $9 and Burnout Remastered is $13.
Most of the other EA games prices are fine.
Also, should I buy NFS:Heat for $3.5 (for some reason they kept the original price)?
I haven't played an NFS game since most wanted 2012.
I think you're in the wrong thread
Is this the thread to mourn Meet Your Maker?
I had sooooo much fun playing the demo last fes but it was a doomed genre + moron dev combo
>Bears In Space
Runs like ass on my setup, voice acting suffers from being only a 3-man team, fun amount of variety at least. Might buy later.
>Southfield
Supposedly coming out of early access right away, but feels way too early. Pasting Human Fall Flat controls onto Stardew Valley doesn't make it any better, as hard as they tried to make it seem more fun.
>Monomith
Bad demo, I guess all the mechanics are there but it feels like cobbled together asset store slop.
>Underspace
Runs good in space but bad in stations for me. Gives me nostalgic janky 2002 game vibes in the best way. Good combat, didn't see a multiplayer option. Will probably be the worst possible game for people with thallasophobia.
>Star trucker
Dunno if there's vr support but if there is it'd be great. Big meaty feel on the ship.
Wanted to try this but just realized it has
>f2p
as tag. Is this a gacha game?
literally the 6th post in the thread
shit. my bad but thx
full bait & switch gachaslop. Don't bother
WHY ARE THOSE DEMOS LIKE 30GB FOR SOME PIXEL SHIT GAME?!?
Conspiracy by Big SSD.
Has anyone here played Caribbean Legends? Looks super cool from the steam page but it's like 20gb. Worth trying out?
Been enjoying the Stand-Alone demo. Rogue-like bs aside (at least the stages are prefab sets instead of generated), it feels tight.
Any Silent Hill/Resident Evil knockoffs? Or shooters with a campaign that aren't roguelikes?
Crow Country seems to scratch that itch pretty well.
echoes of the living is a re1 rip-off
When did the Taiwanese new year sale start?
I think I finished the Codex Lost demo. I got the guild key and can't pass celestium gate. Overall great WRPG/souls-like. I'm impressed.
Just finished messing around with Mantra. Kinda shit, but it's clearly unfinished and said it'll be completely free at launch, so it was worth a wishlist anyway
Any 3D game demos with some especially great movement controls? Thousands of hours of Warframe and I'm looking to play something with a game attached ideally.
>Any 3D game demos with some especially great movement controls?
if there were one you would've heard of it by now
If only there was some Mirror's Edge style game but it was just Warframe's controls and third-person.
any other decent city/civilization building games other than synergy and millennia?
>Millennia
How is it compared to modern Civ?
Your faction is more dynamically created as stuff you do give you access to different specializations and ages.
And the resources have a production chains, for example: forester to get logs -> lumbermill to turn logs into lumber, paper mill to turn lumber into paper -> artist workshop to turn paper into art
I just wanted to game in peace and you frickers made me download 5 demos
not complaining though
Can't believe nobody has found even a single decent game yet
All the shooters look so janky and cheap. People wonder why COD makes a billion dollars every year.
nobody would care about cod if decent multiplayer shooters existed
True but that would require somebody other than Dice to get off their ass once in a while.
It's too hard to find anything decent with all these survival slops, vampire survivors, slay the spire clones clogging up the pages.
>Children of the Sun
Weird premise and moving with the mouse put me off at first, but I got used to it and really enjoyed my time with it. Mechanics are fun to mess around with so I enjoyed playing for score.
>Mutants ate my Carrots
Meh adventure game. The gross-out artstyle didn't really grab me and the beginning of the game was a bit boring and tame. The ending teased something interesting so I'm sad it ended there.
>Monomyth
Mouse sensitivity is fricked. No matter if I had my mouse at low or high DPI setting, I couldn't find a mouse sensitivy value that was good. Shame.
>Pepper Grinder
Really fricking fun. Fun movement, no pauses all gameplay, loved the demo. Play this one.
>Lumine Night
Looked liked Ghost Trick, one of my favorite games, however the english translation was probably MTL so after a few minutes of reading I just uninstalled it.
>Mouse sensitivity is fricked. No matter if I had my mouse at low or high DPI setting, I couldn't find a mouse sensitivy value that was good. Shame.
update the game
B4.0.2e version is working now
Run pizza run isn’t bad, it’s like frogger mixed with gta. It kinda wears out its welcome quick though. Maybe worth $2-3
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1739900/Death_of_the_Reprobate/
This game looks kino, but I haven't got to it yet.
So no one here is a survivor addict to tell us which one out of the hundreds of survivor games is good?
>which one out of the hundreds of survivor games is good?
none of them
I passed on Palworld when they said I need to feed my avatar like its a fricking hamster.
Eh, I'll jump on the grenade. Give Lightyear Frontier, Pacific Drive, and Abiotic Factor a try.
the long dark is the best one by a lot, unlikely to change anytime soon
sons of the forest is supposed to be alright too
I dunno if this is on the Next Fest page, but I found this on Sunday and it's cute. It's called Ratopia.
Kinda a comfy laid bad mixture of Terraria and settlement building.
I couldn't get into the game because of how fricking slow it was and the fricked up pixel scaling last I played it
That game's already out. Technically. Early Access games don't qualify for Next Fest.
THE WORK OF ONE WHO CONSORTS WITH BEASTS
Stormgate might be the most soulless RTS game I have ever played.
agreed
Vorax
Horror FPS that was surprisingly not that bad. The game looks good. You shoot a bunch of different mutants. Not just people, but eyeballs sticking out of walls, animals, weird beings that stick to things. Gunplay felt good to me from how your shots react on impact. You can blow off body parts and deform the eyeballs on the wall. It's a short demo if you want something quick.
Duel Corp is good. If I wanted to waste my life playing 1 MMO, I think a pixel souls game would be a good choice
yea it was surprisingly decent. The 3-way directional parry system can go frick itself though
Needs a caption
99,99% of the games suck.
dhmm
>Abathor
I'm so fricking sad. Decide to try the demo on a whim since the cover art looked cool. Was presented with an amazing title screen and player select, the music was good too and it made me excited for a good arcade game.
And then I played it. It's like they looked at the chaotic and unpredictable gameplay of Ghost 'n Goblins that makes you think on your feet and said: "How do we remove all of that, and add nothing to make the game fun?"
The enemies are non-threatening, they literally just go left and right most of the time, the first level is just 3 types of enemies that do the same thing, and it's fricking long. The game design is garbage, some areas are full of platforms, but they are placed at infuriating heights, low enough to make you think you can jump on them, but some pixels off from doing so. Just so disappointing man.
Mark of the Deep if you're looking to pass time between Hades and Hades 2. I enjoyed it.
So Biomorph is the first Hollow-like game I played and yeah it's literally Hollow Knight with a different skin. The gameplay, the dark mood, the mystery, even the music is all just Hollow Knight, except you're a weird goo alien and Dirtmouth is an alien seaside town. Still good though. It goes on the wishlist.
Do I need to know how to play Poker to enjoy Balatro or there is a tutorial?
There's a list of hands (card combinations and their value) you want to go for accessible in the game. The rest isn't really poker related.
>Madzik
Fun little action rpg where you can choose between different characters. There's a lot of lore and dialogue. The game looks good enough, the bars look a bit weird to me, but the overall style is nice to the eyes.
Speaking of fads. Why is no one making clones of Lethal Company? Turns out coop-horror-extraction is incredibly fun with frens.
>with frens
literally everything is fun with friends, that alone does not a good game make
I'm sure they are but it might take a few more months for them to flood in.
Because Lethal Company is already a clone of Phasmophobia but not shit and trying to make a clone of the clone usually ends in disaster
That's a stretch. By that logic Dark and Darker is Tarkov clone.
No, that's a clone of a now cancelled game which was labelled as a tarkov clone by the devs when it was being made.
Yes?
>working a game that I thought was a good game idea
>working to make a demo for it
>but then, completely contrary to my initial assumptions, I realize that my game idea was much, much more suitable for a 3d game and I just didn't realize because I've generally got a slight 2d bias
>scrap everything and begin developing what is essentially an entirely different game from step 1
>the prototype already feels more engaging and satisfying to play, but somehow scrapping the previous vision has left me less than motivated
Frick. Maybe one day you'll see my game. Maybe in a few years...
I am genuinely confident in the idea though.
I'm stuck on this site forever so take your time.
Should have released your 2d demo somewhere on itch.io to collect feedback and then start 3d iteration. Because who knows how many of your other ideas need tweaking at a base level.
That's not that unusual, you still earned a lot of XP from working on the 2D iteration. The only actual loss is if you quit and achieve nothing for your time and effort.
Just throw in a 2D section somewhere in the middle of the game, +10 soulkino points.
>my favourite section was that 2D bit halfway through, I wish there was a full game of that instead
Then you can sell that as a spin-off, easy money.
Is Terratech Worlds worth a try?
I like building stuff.
There was some Mars construction type game where you built cool vehicles and machines though and it pains me that I've forgotten what it was called.
Anyone tried Ahno's Ark? Cute anime art and I don't think it's gacha trash so it might be redeeming.
>cool looking board game game
>it's chinese and thus ccp malware
>Ultros
Amazing visuals, but combat feels sluggish.
Also music isn't "there".
>browse thread
>find game that sounds interesting
>opens page
>roguelite
dropped
Most of this shit is not coming out for at least another 3 years if at all, who gives a shit.
Is just a well of pointless wishlist filler and disappointment
the true next fest is the pointless disappointed b***hing we did in the threads along the way
Skill issue. The game I played and wishlisted is coming out in 3 weeks :^)
Two weeks for me. But then, I've been following it for like a year.
Based Pacific Drive fan
Also yes, but I was referring to Balatro
>uncircumcised
Finally I can pretend that I'm whole.
Is Maniac Classic GTA or Hatred?
>Play demo
>It's so good you force yourself to stop playing so the demo doesn't ruin the experience of your day 1 buy
Name a better feel
What gaem
Probably Balatro.
I'm glad "mark as private" is a thing in steam
can't relate *posts anime boobies on the acitivty tab*
I wish I had the confidence to do that. I can't even set anime stuff as my phone wallpaper.
I have a friend like that, before they added the option he'd just set his activity on private, when he did I knew he was jerking it LOL
Any recs fellow coomerbro?
Is Cursed Crew, Don't Starve X FTL?
