      >I've installed 32gb of ram specifically so that I won't have to close shit every time I wanna play some ram demanding game.

Anon. The new Steam Client has a memory leak that has sent people as high as 6~7GB of RAM use in an hour, while sitting there passively in the background while they were playing a game. Your 32 GB doesn't mean anything. It will fill it up all the same. Steam was built in Gaben's own image: hungry, hungry hippo.

      To piggbyback on this
      also do this
Open Task Manager and select the "Details" tab
Right-click on one of the "steamwebhelper.exe" processes and click "Open file location"
In the Explorer window, right-click "steamwebhelper.exe" and select "Properties"
Switch to the "Security" tab and click on "Advanced"
Click on "Disable inheritance" and select the 1st option (conversion into explicit rights)
Double click the entry for "Users"
Uncheck the box saying "Read, Execute" (will also uncheck the 2 boxes above) and press "OK"
Repeat last 2 steps for any individual user in the list that doesn't want Chromium running
Click "OK" on this window and "OK" on the file properties
Now go up to Steam's installation directory (3 levels up) and apply the same treatment to "steamerrorreporter.exe" and "steamerrorreporter64.exe" to prevent bogus error reports to Valve for this hack.
To revert, simply delete the files who's security settings you changed and restart Steam, or reverse the process described above to regain the GUI. (steamwebhelper.exe is in bincefcef.win7[x64])
Note: It will now take 1 minute from launch until you have access to your games, due to Steam waiting for the Chromium process to connect to the main program. You will now have Steam only using 45-60 Mbs, though it only works on the versions prior to the Jun 14th update.

Why are all you disloyal moronS so critical of this? If steam says you need 128 GB of RAM, you go out and immediately purchase 128 GB of RAM. If the installer needs 1 TB or space, you PURCHASE a new SSD with that amount of space. If steam says you need to install Windows 12 or Linux, you install Windows 12 or learn Linux.

Stop being such morons and do what Gaben tells you to do. He needs your money to purchase another yacht, another submarine and/or another sports car for his son. You need to be loyal to his regime or steam can't continue to save PC gaming.

This new update is fricking trash. It's nice that wishlisted games on sale show up in my alerts but clicking them just takes me to my wishlist instead of the game's store page. Also opening Steam while I game is open now just opens it in-game through the overlay instead of a new window like I'm used to.

But worst yet is when I search for a game on the store page, it keeps taking me to my library randomly. What the frick? Also closing a store page doesn't fully close it. The game's video will start playing in the background even after closing it and I have to manually open Steam back up and change pages. What the FRICK?
