Will it be better than the regular Ursaluna guts variant though? For VGC at least.

Hard to say. It will now be vulnerable to sleep/burn/statuses. It will have a better Chien Pao and Rillaboom matchup, but a worse Heatran matchup.

I’d say depends on its movepool.
A single hit from its Gigaton Hammer clone would be weaker than Guts boosted Facade on its own, but
      >Has far better typing combined with Ursaluna’s great bulk
      >Not restricted to using Flame Orb on every set
      >Strategy doesn’t rely on being chipped constantly
      >STAB Gigaton Hammer still hits fricking hard and with Life Orb basically does about the same

His ability is kinda ass but if he keeps guts + 160 bp move + excadrill type + that statline he is insane

      > Literally Keen Eye + Scrappy.
      > Ass.

It's not super overpowered but it's pretty damn good. Especially if (more logical) assumption about it's typing being Normal/Steel will be correct - Guts or not, STAB from 140 (maybe more?) ATK is not a fricking joke and no Ghost-type will be able to cheese out of it. Steel means that it's already fricks Rocks and it should retain Ground coverage of Ursaluna for Steels.

Keen Eye part is less relevant but GF is not taking into consideration Smogon's rules and Accuracy and Evasion changing moves may pretty quickly turn into cancer so having big, bad, angry NO button against them is handy.

Unless it doesn't evolve from Ursaring for whatever reason, it's guaranteed to have EQ.

Also, lore-wise Ursaluna's existence in ScVio may be quite funny.

        >Entire game is supposedly about Past/Future Pokemon.
        >It's unclear if the Past/Future Pokemon we see are real or are result of something weird going on in Area Zero.
        >Suddenly we see an actual Pokemon from the past that survived it's extinction but curiously is not mentioned in research of Professor Sada.

Hell, this makes me think that for second part of DLC (curiously themed as futuristic in contrary to Kitakami) we will see actual future Pokemon. Some kind of "Yeah we genetically engineer Pokemon in our academy and this one is stronger than it's other peers". This will also be nice tie in to third part of DLC that is heavily implied to tie all loose ends of Area Zero mystery.

Why has GF been going full moron with power creep lately? The amount of mixmaxed BST monsters and attacks that do what 2-3 other moves would've done separately five gens ago is insane.

I'm more confused as to why Ursaluna gets a new form out of all Pokemon. It LITERALLY got introduced in the previous Pokemon game. It's not even two years old yet and it's already getting power-crept.

So this is less bulky then mega steelix (maybe) that hits harder (obviously). A scrappy-like ability is cool but how relevant is that without normal stab? Maybe it'll still have guts as an option

The Scrappy expy might be useless if it doesn't retain the Intimidate immunity.

Wait, why is everyone saying it will be steel/ground? Why would it’s ability have scrappy built in if it weren’t either part normal or part fighting?

      Anonymous

It’s probably Normal/Steel. morons are just parroting Centro’s stupid tweet.

        Anonymous

        This
Ursaluna is Normal/Ground because it is an Ursaring (Normal) covered in Mud (Ground)
It makes sense for the variant that is covered in steel instead of mud to be Normal/Steel

  22. 9 months ago

So is this an alt evolution or will it be a form change of regular Ursaluna?
