How? It doesn't have stance switching like in nioh and you parry a lot more here. In nioh parry only works for humans, not yokai. Nioh is also a ton faster.

Why do the enemies completely stand still after performing an attack string? It's kinda jarring and hurts the flow of the combat. I'm fine with enemies performing a huge attack and getting tired to let the player get in some hits. But they need to atleast animate the tiredness part and not just make the model stand still. For example, look at the bellal boss fight.

Nier Automata's biggest weakness imo was the enemy designs. I just couldnt take the dumb silly robots seriously. The goliath was a cool setpiece at least. Meanwhile Stellar Blade takes inspiration from warframe enemy design wise which is neat imo.
I've played the demo and the combat definitely feels better than button mashing dogshit that was nier automata. Also it has more anemies and bosses than nier. However, I don't think the complete package will be as good as nier. I remember being completely confused when I first played automata and some people were praising the combat when it was shallow as frick. Maybe these were the jrpg crowd with low standards but idk.
Nier has better characters and story but it's a complete pain in the ass to replay since it already wants you to beat the game 4 times. Stellar Blade is better for pick and play aka a console game.
