Nier 1 IS a bad game and Automata is very mediocre save for its presentation.
Both of them are only so highly praised for their character designs, music and writing. If Stellar Blade ends up being decent on the gameplay front, I don't think it will be a reach, or modesty, or anything at all to stay Stellar Blade is better than Automata.
Mechanics wise I suppose that would be correct. SB already has more focus put into its melee combat than Nier A ever was. I honestly blame the decision to put 2/3rds of the game into hacking. Therefore, Taro isn't wrong in that SB is better than Nier A as a "game", but presentation and narrative wise, which is something that could be arguable per person, Nier A is better. Hyun Tae Kim himself said that Taro is an exceptional writer and he would never be able to match him in this regard.

We're all knew he is the art director of B&S, fricktard. But he didn't developed any game, he is drawn art and told people to rendered his art into 3D and he got fired halfway through the game. There is vast difference between art director and character designer. The Art Director oversees everything related to game aesthetics, from the background, UI design, color composition, and of course that includes 3D models too.
Do you even look at the horrible UI of BnS, or the shit ass blurry texture on everything except character model. Even the singleplayer game Magna Carta look like a cluster frick of UI with mediocre mmo fantasy asthetic. How the frick is this make him the Legendary developer when he's only designed art for 2 mediocre game: a FF ripoff and a MMO grindfest?
