>seasons
I think you should kys.
seasons are the fundamentals of an ARPG zoomer.
They are absolutely not. A game should have a start, a middle and and end. Your brain is rotten by live-service trash.
Except every single ARPG has seasons/ladders. Sounds like you just suck.
>Sounds like you just suck.
Never let it be said that we didn't know why gaming turned out the way that it did.
Diablo 2 started seasons in like the early 2000s or even before that. It has zero to do with whatever you're thinking about
any other good 40k games?
Mechanicus
Mechanicus is the only truly good 40k game, spacemarine was baller but had a lot of flaws
mechanicus is kind of hard. I barely made it out of the tutorial when that I had to escape that boss. Any tips?
Git gud
The game has a reverse difficulty trend, it get easier and easier as you progress trought the game to the point that you are the one overpowered. Focus on missions that give you extra Tech-Priests whenever they appear and hold Space in the mission select to find an extra handler with his own missions but those can be annoying so try them after you get some levels up and better gear.
Dawn of War is the moat critically acclaimed 40k game
Also DoW2 is fine too if you don't expect a traditional RTS and play it more
that game kind of pisses me off with the pathfinding. Like holy shit I lose units due to how shit it can be.
Why would I care what critics think? I don't need to be told my opinion by people who are paid to have opinions.
The difficulty is incredibly customizable. If you're struggling, then turn it down
Darktide is a good game in 40k standards but feels like that game is on the verge of EOS.
space marine
mechanicus
dawn of war 1
It is decent despite a few issues. Play it WASD, its like a twin stick shooter with ARPG gear and leveling. Lot of nice detail in it. Bit grindy after a while but definitely underrated
Warhammer Gladius is pretty good. Nobody ever mentions it.
It really is. You can burn through every class each season but it's really comfy to play. Easy mindless slaughter in a 40k setting with decent voice acting and a story that hits some decent beats. I go back like every other season and the weekly leaderboards are always a lot of fun to fight for. Considering it's launch this ended up being a really good 40k title.
I'd like this game more if it didn't try to aggressively frick you over at every turn. I can't relax while playing it. Is that common in XCOM type games?
warp surge can be mitigated, or with a culexus Assassin, neutralised
So I just finished the campaign on this. It's very different to xcom since it lacks % values for damage. You never have a chance to miss, you'll always see your damage or lack of damage as well as the reasons why and how much it's reducing/increasing.
It's much more of a puzzle then xcom is, you're not going to get many "That's Xcom baby!" moments.
You do need to learn how to build a squad around a particular style, and recognise when you're countered by enemy types and objectives. For that you build in your stratagems to compensate.
Action economy is king, getting out of line of sight or popping aegis if you can is a big deal.
Get the DLC as well, they've fixed the dreadnought DLC now, and the new assassins are pretty good.
Get as much master crafted gear as possible, it's a big upgrade for troops.
Awesome, thanks guys. I'll give it another go.
This would be incredible with a few additions. For instance it needs more intetesting bosses, right now the only thing I'd consider a boss in the crusades is the knight. also there should be some crusade maps that are either generated randomly or maybe have a weekly crusade type thing. I'm not even max level and I already know the crusade paths by heart. seasonal artifacts also need to be more interesting. the last season artifacts were boring and this season's are even worse because of their niche uses. Melee also needs to be overhauled. It was already kind of meh but now with this new season where enemies drop degen pools on death it's borderline unplayable as melee.
Playerbase isn't that low, it's an extremely good ARPG, I play it often.
if only it was better optimized
Interesting game, first time i've seen cover shooter elemnts in diablo like rpg
I heard there's a tps camera view mode
Is that true?
yes but only when you use turrets
An underrated cashgrab is still a cashgrab
