you just posted the coziest thing in the entire world
I remember being sick from school as a kid playing this game and just chilling in the igloo for like 20 minutes. The vibe was so good
I prefer wild world and new leaf but GC is great too. I wish we could return to the classic AC aesthetic, if NL had that instead of the sterilized bullshit (which became even worse in NH) it would be undoubtably the best one
The entire premise of the original Animal Crossing was making a game where it felt like things happened between your actual play sessions, as such it was deliberately structured so you would share your file with multiple people in your household and all take turns and see evidence that the other person has been there. Once they decided to focus on simultaneous multiplayer it was over.
>The entire premise of the original Animal Crossing was making a game where it felt like things happened between your actual play sessions
this applies to every AC except new horizons (the worst one)

Holy frick this. Why I dropped NH so hard.
It didn't feel like anything happened day to day. It was just "What mega landscape project do I want to do today?"
I had more fun in the GC one when a ball showed up and I kicked it around over anything in NH
Not saying there aren't things I think the original did better, but I think a lot of people mostly conflate their memories of playing it with being a kid and not having such a "gamer mindset". You were just enjoying the world and imagining relationships with these npcs and not paying attention to repeated dialogue and obsessively filling out the catalog. I think a lot of people who talk about how great the GC game is would be just as bored with it as they are with new Horizons if they played it today.
Not him but I was disappointed with NH specifically because the life sim part and NPCs are dead in it. I actually went back to WW, played that for two months, then the GC version.
In my mind, both are better than NH without a doubt. However misguided, the NPCs have their opinions, hobbies, and very strong personalities. They do change over time, you don't get to play god, etc. It's just more enjoyable to me.
The new game is more like a thing for white girls to customize and post filtered screenshots online about.
What I want to know is why they're hellbent on making things tiny. I keep hearing the map in New Horizons is actually tiny compared to the GameCube map, and that is a fricking travesty. They got rid of NPC's and their shops because of space issues, which wouldn't have been a problem if they would've just given u a bigger island. I think NH just killed any desire of mine to play any further installments.
New Leaf era is just a wiener tease >oh hey a trailer with Isabelle! Would that be more... >Its just a Smash reveal >oh hey, its another traile... >Its just the House Deco game >Isabelle shittalk the player naming the village AAAAAAAAAAAA and abandoning after a month >oh hey! A Wii U trailer! >its a fricking board game
>peak comfy gaming
To comfy game and Animal Crossing lovers, I always suggest A Short Hike, it's the unexpected perfect blend between Animal Crossing (small island populated by animals, no dangers, nature, general wibe) and BotW (free exploration, secrets, climbing and gliding, quests to expand stamina). It's on gamepass and it was given for free on the Epic Store, give it a try, it's only 2-3 hours long.
Also yes, PG is the best but WW wasn't bad at all.
I always got the impression that had I played this 20 years ago it would have easily become one of my favorite games ever. But now I'm old and sad and it's too late.
True
you just posted the coziest thing in the entire world

>no multiplayer
>limited end game options
You're just saying that because it's old and you're nostalgic
>Animal Crossing
>endgame
Are you a fricking moron?
is that project done yet?
Does the newest game still have the "time passes when you're not playing" mechanic?
Can't wait for an Animal Crossing port and to get a Ship of Harkinian level of modding
>Ship of Harkinian
what is this now?
PC Port of Ocarina of Time. It's a pipe dream that Animal Crossing would get as huge of a modding scene as Zelda but it would be cool
In 20 years maybe. We can't even get a finished translation for e+.

Why is Nintendo so hellbent on keeping the rolling log view?

Quite possibly true. What happened to the Japanese version/e+ mod someone was working on?
The one that let you wake Tom Nook up and unfricked the fossil system.
The original and New Leaf are the best ones.
New Leaf uses the most recent characters in the best way.
>tfw you are so old you watched in real time as New Leaf became an absolute joke to "the best one since the original"
Just wait, in 10 years the people making posts like these are going to witness people gassing up New Horizons
New Leaf era is just a wiener tease

>it's the best because um... IT'S MY FIRST GAME!
sigh

It's the best because it has the most soul.
>sigh
you must go back
Go back to Africa you israelite
It's the best because it's the best. Nintendo did nothing with this series, just kept making it worse in exchange for a bit of QoL.
My first was Wild World thoughever.
Frfr lil bro, you really cooked with this tweet oomfie. One of the games of all time
Objectively true. Today OP was not a homosexual for once.
imagine if they never did the rolling log shit
communist babies game shit makes pokemon seem like a boomers game
If there were ever a post to encapsulate the caved in head wojak it would be this one.

Also Lil' Gator Game
Looks good, I'm gonna check it out
The DS game was also good
I first played GCN 20 years ago. Was my introduction to Excitebike and Punch-Out
picrel was my villagerfu
Was also active on DS communities in WW
I like Wild World more but it is indeed really good
I always got the impression that had I played this 20 years ago it would have easily become one of my favorite games ever. But now I'm old and sad and it's too late.
