There's a genuine argument to be made for how tedious it can be to get a legal Landorus if you don't already have one, but Urshifu you can get so quickly in SwSh DLC from a fresh save since the DLC is available right when you get to the train station
Last I checked it still worked, so assuming you have a 3ds with the apps on them it should be no problem. But I would believe that these people wouldn't have bothered.

bro its too hard to catch a landorus I gotta inject my team. I had to do it, cant believe this shit. they disqualified me for that? such bs it should be pure skill.
Sounds like that moron wasn’t even cheating himself, he just trusted somebody else to do it for him. It’s incredibly easy to gen legit looking mons but why should a random “reputable trader” do that for him? Lazy homosexual deserves it 100%.
None of the legendaries are natively obtainable in SV, so you have to gen them in their native game in order for HOME to generate a legitimate tracker value. Which means buying another game
It's hilarious how cheaters used the cope of >the skill required is the same whether I hack or not
but couldn't display the "skill" of just catching a mon in a recent 20 hour game
Being actually good at VGC requires you to see through the “illusion” of Pokemon and see them as playing pieces, it shouldn’t surprise people that VGC players consequently don’t give a frick about playing 40 hours to have all the resources to make teams.
>make tera shards less grindy to obtain >add an item that lets you set an iv to zero
Congratulations, the problem is solved
Personally I don't have a major issue with genning since players aren't getting an advantage beyond convenience for doing it, but if I were going to the biggest tournament of my life I know I'd want everything about my team to be legit
>you DO play the game, right? you're not just pretending to be upset about cheaters, right??
NTA but frick cheaters
YOU did catch them all, right? Board rules, after all anon.
Nice, I've done it for Gens 3, 4, 5, 6, and 9 so far myself
Also almost done with 8, Just need to catch Zacian and I'll have Sword. I do have LGE here, pic related, and PLA which I will post next here.
I also have a copies of SM and USUM to do after that, as well as the two 3dses needed to complete it (turns out once the eshop shut down, the regular 3dses at least got real cheap 2nd hand.)
They didn't catch everyone, just the ones who couldnt be bothered to make a legit looking file in pkhex. you are an idiot if you think even a handful of worlds players actually grinded for the 6 Pokemon on their team
If you don't want genning to be legal, then you must not want equal grounds for all players without sacrificing the competitive nature of the game. Genning is the only way to accomplish both of those goals.
Pokemon was never supposed to be an equal grounds things, these autistic people have been ruining the game for all the real players for years and I'm glad GF is finally putting their foot down.
Players willing to put in the hours breeding should have an advantage over players that aren't. Aren't there ways in modern games to boost IVs as well?
Once Hidden Power stopped being meaningful and all legendary Pokemon had minimum three 31 IVs there was no justification for genning. Having to decide between a 31 defense IV and a 12 HP and S.def or three 24s in those stats is meaningful and involves more gameplay decisions than 'just take 31s in everything'.
>Players willing to put in the hours breeding should have an advantage over players that aren't.
Why? The game is Pokemon Battling, not Pokemon Breeding.
Then why is breeding never on an official Pokemon stream? If it were really half the work, they'd show it for the world to see as part of the nature of the game.

Why do the commentators not talk about the intricacies of proper breeding if it matters so much? >it's boring
yeah no shit, it's boring because it doesn't fricking matter
Incorrect. We can compare to horse/dog racing if you would like.
You lack a basic understanding of of competitive if you think 31 is the only relevant IV.
I'll fully admit I haven't kept up with competitive since early gen 5 and only really gave a shit during the D/P/Pt era.
Enlighten me, outside of Hidden Power and I suppose 0 speed for Trick Room, how big a difference do non-31 IVs make?
Hidden Power is gone now, so it's literally just 0 speed to outslow in TR now. He might try to bring up 0 Atk for Foul Play/Confusion, but that shit never fricking happens in VGC
IVs matter for things such as >speed tuning >trick room >0 atk/sp atk for buffing ally >0 atk against foul play foes
There's more but that covers the basics. It's easier to breed pokemon for IVs in earlier seasons, but when it gets to using legendaries it because a lot more difficult.
>We can compare to horse/dog racing
anything competition based on physical ability can't be compared to Pokemon. If I have 2 level 100 mons with 252 ATK IVs and one of them kills 1000 more ratattas (lets equate killing ratattas to weight training), the one that killed 1000 rats isn't stronger than the other. but if you were to do 1000 more benchpresses than I do if we start out the same, you'd turn out stronger
>Putting time and effort into something is TOO HARD FOR ME I should just BE GIVEN EVERYTHING I WANT FOR FREE AND RIGHT NOW NOW NOW >T. the average Pokemon comp player
I'm so glad I never touched comp filled as it is with spoiled brats like you.
How delusional are these people
VGC is an afterthought to an afterthought at TPC. While I think it has a lot of potential and could be really big if hidden proper support, this is obviously very far from reality. Furthermore, legalised cheating would alienate most casual fans.
To be honest I’ve been browsing through the reactions and I’m a little shocked how common views like this are. So many people going on about “accessibility”, to argue that catching, raising (and trading) Pokémon are aspects to be severely simplified if not downright removed - as if they’re not integral part of playing the game. Yeah it can take a fair amount of time to get a team with perfect stats. That’s the point. That’s part of the competition. Sorry you’ve grown accustomed to cheating and were unaware you’re actively stabbing every honest, hardworking competitor in the back. >b-b-but everyone does it
Absolutely not. Yes, it is a widespread problem, but it is a totally delusional cope to pretend everyone does it. You guys are just lazy c**ts.
These homosexuals are merely a testament to how bad VGC got in recent years. I'd love to believe they are actually doing something to stop hacking finally, but it's probably just
its because japan is serious about the enforcement and america is not
The fact so many people were hackers is NOT because they are any sort of majority in Pokemon, its because they've been running rampant so long the tournament actually drove away respectable esports players and Pokemon fans who viewed it as a total joke. Those that continued to attend were the hackers, who actually convinced themselves they are somehow legitimate or that it didn't matter. So they look around confused now when the rules were enforced for once. These people are total idiots, reminder they spent money on fricking plane tickets but still don't play legitimately. None of them are worth a damn as players anyway despite whining about "muh battle skill". Most good players, even if they don't play the actual game because they are simulator autists, don't cheat at tournaments. They will either get fans to get the mons for them or spend the effort or money to pay someone to get their team ready, which costs them far less than the time and money to go there, so they don't give much fricks even if they hate playing the game for some reason. These people here are the trashest of the trash and deserve ridicule even from other hackers, they win the darwin award and should be named and shamed. Pic unrelated.
I've never watched pro pokemon play and will never watch it because they fricking hack their teams. What is the point of me watching if they play with hacked teams? That's the reason I've never been interested in that shit.
The problem with sv grinding is tera shards and potentially money to buy all the evs, mints, etc.
Should have just grinded the Blissey events that gave you tons of shards. Coincidentally, those Blissey raids are running again right now, so all the cheaters have a chance at easily farming stuff legitimately now.
>Coincidentally, those Blissey raids are running again right now, so all the cheaters have a chance at easily farming stuff legitimately now. >They do this the weekend world's is going on instead of BEFORE
I swear the company is actually trolling them. Shit is hilarious.
The one part of this post that's correct is that an official battle sim would mitigate alot of this shit and is just an objectively good idea. >all mons available with team transfer ala Stadium >multiple modes and formats with rewards >customizable movesets; all mons have access to it's complete learnset with the exception of tutor and egg moves thus still incentivizing owning the other games
>be you >don't play vgc >spend all day getting mad at players for genning >be me >play vgc >know how to gen properly and bring genned teams to tournaments >never been caught and i'll do it again
It's hilarious how cheaters used the cope of >the skill required is the same whether I hack or not
but couldn't display the "skill" of just catching a mon in a recent 20 hour game
Maximum cope

> I just think genning should be legal and people against it are coping because they have VGC skill issues
It's a good thing that will never happen. Perhaps you should take your own advice and cope better instead of gaslighting.
Why would I need to cope? I have every Reg D mon above 2% usage on cart legally obtained. I'm also aware if I lose to someone with genned mons, it has nothing to with them being genned, I probably got outplayed.
Proof Verlisfy was a fricking idiot (as if we needed more proof). He's been after this guy for years and he still hasn't even proven the guy is regularly using cheats.
I wish I can just farm money like I did in XY so I can buy everything I need. Wish Bottle Caps and certain evolution items are available in Delibird Presents. Wish Tera raids dropped more shards and supplements.
You can spend $15 on a shitty turbo controller and literally AFK the champion tournament with a strong enough mon overnight. You'll max out on money and there's a chance to grab cool balls if balltism is your thing.
If you don't want to spend the money, just do it yourself while you watch anime/read/do whatever else.
Should have taken all those Kaphotics tweets to heart and learned how to properly gen their mons. homosexuals got too complacent with their incorrect PIDs and weights.
Isn't it super fricking easy to train a team in game these days? Why even bother cheating? Also how do you frick up generating them? Isn't the program to make them checking legality already?
>Spend all that time, money, and travel planning to participate in a remote event >Get DQ'd from the event because you chose to cheat in the actual game portion
Pottery
I'm just surprised they're taking a stronger stance on genning all of a sudden. I would've thought morons who spend thousands on traveling for tournaments would have known how to safely gen anyway.
Really? I always felt GF never gave a frick. Also lmao at spending money on a flight but not spending time on getting a few legit mons from playing the fricking game, jesus people.
Same here. I was surprised that people who got into Worlds could be so incompetent in genning. Like back in my day the top players had breeders on the DL who made legit teams for top players. Pkhex being so stupid easy has made too many players lazy.
>spend over a day flying across a continent and hours waiting at the event >in this free time you couldve just found a legit landorus on reputable trade discords or got one yourself
What puts professional Pokémon players above normal Pokémon players if they cheat? I can cheat my team as well and will be as competitive as them lol. What’s the point of professional playing at this point?
You can cheat a team in sure but you can't cheat the hours of team building and testing and refining. You can bake a chocolate chip cookie but can you bake the world's greatest cookie from the same ingredients?
That's like claiming you're a master baker and shouldn't have been disqualified from the baking competition when the judge finds out your cookies are storebought ones instead of ones you made.
You have to do nothing for cookies to win a competition, they'll taste the same no matter what you do after you bought them. If you aren't good at playing, even the best team in the world won't win by itself.
How often is 0atk compared to 1 or 2 even relevant? Have these guys actually looked at winning teams? Maybe you can settle for less than perfection buddy.
>0 IV atk mattering in a meta where foul play has seen next to 0% usage
You could MAYBE have a valid point on speed but unironically grind for the first time in your life
Soft resetting Enamorus a dozen times is still faster than grinding 50 tera shards for one Mon and you're actually moronic if you think otherwise
>Soft resetting Enamorus
Okay, so how do you determine its IVs in PLA before saving the game and transferring it over, therefore forcing you to make another save if you want to catch Enamorus again?
There are literal IV calculators Bro. I agree that getting a 0 IV Pokémon is suboptimal right now but there are legal ways to do so and if your entire strategy revolves around 0 IV Pokémon then maybe you need to get gud.
You can check IV of a freshly caught Pokémon using online IV calculator.
Anonymous
do you not know how stats work in PLA? stop typing, you sound moronic
10 months ago

How do you calc what isn't present in the game
Pokémon still have IV its just not used for the Stat calculations when using grits. But a freshly caught Pokémon are the same as a Pokémon with no EV from other games so you can calculate the IV.
Anonymous
0 in PLA means anywhere from 0-20 IV on cart and the stats do not directly translate because of how stats in PLA work. You cannot soft reset properly. Stop typing, you sound moronic.
Worse, it doesn't even change a lot of the damage. 0~31 attack getting Foul Played is basically the same. Even moreso for Enamorus.
Only a Ghost and Psychic type really cares about that. Cause it might be the difference between surviving a hit or not.
Pretty much the only decent cases for genning are 0attack and/or 0speed, if taking the entire history of competitive into account, but this fringe case certainly isn't a competent excuse for all genning or genning so poorly that you get caught, given that nearly all other problems that encouraged genning have been solved. You wouldn't even have to do every single 6 star daily ever to still be swimming in the most important resources for modifying stats, but 5 minutes a day is an unreasonable expectation? Come the frick on. Little disingenuous primadonnas.
5 star, whatever the frick amount of stars is the daily raid. Point stands regardless of one small error.

You're actually moronic. 6 are once a day if you don't reset. Maybe if you search lobbies, but literally one person gets one 6 star to host a day. You're just being supremely autistic about this.
Anonymous
I have literally never gone out to do my own 6 star because people do them all the time all day every day.

OK, well points are that one spawns per save per day and I have ample resources for multiple teams when I didn't do every daily 6 star, every 7 star or spam many 6 star lobbies. I completely understand you can do more than one per day through either online or clock resets. The DQ'd players are reluctant to do even the bare minimum.
I don't gen at all and have tons of resources, am able to play reasonably well and have competitively viable teams with way lower time commitment than I used to give to Smogon style singles before bottle caps and nature mints were a thing.
Also, there was a Ditto event recently where I got a 6iv ditto and 0 speed one. 0 atk is 90% a meme because I've literally never been Foul Play'd once in doubles in SV.
Like, I'm literally not even trying that hard and have almost everything you could want to be able to compete in VGC. Another Kubfu or two would be nice. Outside of that, people are just whining fricks who don't actually want to play the video game and should just stick to Showdown since that's what they like
t. non-hacking oldgay sick of this issue for 10+ years
Pretty much this. It doesn't take too long to get what you need to play VGC. It's like being a pro athlete and complaining about being caught taking steroids because it takes too much time to get good without it.
when you take steroids, you're not just getting strong faster, you're ending stronger than you ever could've been. if I catch a pikachu and gen a pikachu with the exact same ivs and make them fight, the end result isn't one pikachu being stronger than the other.
I can do that while having my wife and kids and job these losers just want to spend all their time doing anything but play the game until it’s the day of
Maybe I’m autistic but I just imagine someone in the pokemon world arguing like this and find it funny. They would most certainly be the villain. >ugh why do I have to spend time and effort catching and training mons? Just give me some clones and let me battle
>athlete has to spend hundreds of hours of exercising and training for the big moment >what do you mean I can't use illegitimate substances to speed up the process it's the same skill >homosexual complaining about the same thing except it's just playing a video game >game holds your hand the entire way and makes it so easy to legitimately modify your Pokémon >still cries about the "sacrifice" of playing a Pokémon game for a few hours
>Just use your whole time farming Tera raids
Or they could just accept that Sw/Sh and S/V are dogshit games and TPC should suffer because of it.
Instead, they dicksuck every minute of every day because they are adickted.
If you get DQ'd for cheating, you should get banned from tournaments for at least 5 years. Honestly, this shit is just clown shoes. if TPCI wants to ever be taken seriously, they need to start treating this shit seriously.
I breed a lot of competitive sheet but don't play too seriously, but it's not hard at all. It's entirely reasonable to breed and train two EV trained pokemon per day, and you wouldn't even have to play all day either, maybe 3-4 hours. So 3-4 hours per day over the course of 3 days, and you have a team from scratch. There's outliers like 0 Speed guys but if you can breed them then it's no different than breeding other stuff. The time investment isn't large at all unless you don't know what you're doing.
>There's outliers like 0 Speed guys but if you can breed them then it's no different than breeding other stuff
People forget that we had a Ditto raid event where you could get 0IV ones. Literally no excuse outside of legendaries.
Because the other half is expected to be done BEFORE the tournament. Practice on simulators to get the team you want as much as you want, but Gamefreak have made it especially easy to RAISE Pokemon in SV to get the exact requirements you want.
EVs? You can use vitamins to max them out. No EV training required. Vitamins can be bought.
IVs? Hyper training eliminates the need for perfect IVs. Bottle caps can be bought.
Natures? Mints change the stat spreads to what you want. Can be bought.
Abilities? Ability Capsules and Ability Patches. Capsules can be bought, patches require you to play the game.
All this shit can be done legitimately in no time at all, so excusing actually playing the game as a "waste of time" indicates no actual interest in Pokemon itself, especially with such lazy and brazen hacking that results in disqualification. b***hes can't even be bothered to cover their own tracks.

Dude back in the day I bred Pokémon for pro players and made good money doing it cause I was paid in BTC. There are people out there who breed Pokémon.
damn robby, you should have just moved your legendaries back and forth through home to correct their missing hidden values. skill issue. maybe next year!
LMAO Verslis needs to shut the frick up cause he's been caught cheating before. The only reason he's not competing in tournaments is because he isn't good enough.
Needed against what? Oher pokemon that were hacked in? If his argument is that they're NEEDED against pokemon you can get normally without issue then he just sounds like a b***h that didn't want to play the game.
Don't all these shoddily genned mons come from them making them from scratch without paying attention? Can't you just get a legit one, modify the stats and movesets, and all the other hidden parameters will be fine?
Pokémon is one of the few things I've seen where everyone HATES actually being dedicated to it. No other competitive activity is like this. Game Freak has made the game so absurdly easy to get into and they still cry about it. If you don't like the nature of the game, just don't play it. Why do you need to play at worlds? Because you want attention?
>Why do you need to play at worlds? Because you want attention?
Some just like the attention it brings, some just want to battle at the highest skill level possible.
Using a genned pokemon in VGC is like playing with cards you printed out in TCG. Yeah it's the same look and text but it's not authentic. Obviously it's cheating.
I use Pkhex a lot (mostly for storage purposes) but seeing this is so fricking funny
Pkhex literally fricking tells you if something is wrong with your Pokemon
How do you FRICK UP that bad?
overdue justice. most of the current players should have been banned from competitive in gens 3 and 4 when max ivs were basically impossible without rng (and even with rng, some mons still couldnt be generated right like the follow me mons from the gamecube games). instead they're broadcasters for pokemon
the people complaining about getting disqualified for cheating dont even realize how easy it is now to play legitimately. there's no excuse anymore. no time to get a landorus? lmfao
Players should play by rules, but rules shouldn't be moronic. Mons should be accessible without the use of another game if said mon is legal in the format. I'm not gonna fault someone who started this gen and is on their first words run if they dont wanna buy SwSh + DLC + tax

>Coincidentally, those Blissey raids are running again right now
Aw shit for real? Thank God, I did them for only an hour last time they were here. thinking I'd just do more tomorrow. You're an butthole but thank you.
Kaphotics has already gone over this on his Twitter but like half of teams shared had hacking issues, and that's just the ones that didn't pass his checks.
That... Actually has a point.
I'm skeptical if any of the people getting disqualified are getting caught with this like this.
But it is possible that someone legitimately didn't know a wondertraded mon is hacked.
Ignore all twitter posts about this topic. They're all going off of bad information from people who don't know how the hack checking works. They're looking for excuses to defend the people who cheated and to try and dunk on Nintendo.
I was a professional solo player for a different game. I sacrificed lots of time every day to practice. I used maths and edited meta formulas to calculated individualized stuff. I was getting frustrated when I couldn't achieve something, so I spent even more time until I achieved it. I sacrificed my other hobbies to get better. I sacrificed my relationships IRL because I was so fricking autistic about getting better. It gave me a few difficult but THE BEST years of my life I would never exchange for anything else.
And seeing how those "pro" Pokemon players cry their asses about being disqualified after hacking disgusts me. I was on such stages. I'm sure many of the dudes on VGC sacrificed A LOT to be there. Time, money, family, relationships. While those manchildren fricks did fricking nothing and feel entitled to compete on the same stage as them just because they qualified with their hacked mons. I don't know how it works in Pokemon but those people should be banned from ever competing again and told to GTFO from the stadium immediately, that's how it'd work in my game. Disgusting frickers.

honestly for how baby of a game pokemon is (you click on 1 of 4 moves each turn) it is wild how much the stats and behind the scenes shit matters. what other competitive game needs you to do this much extra shit just to prepare to play?
Cards are physical, you should be able to tell if they are fake, so it's not exactly a good comparison.
If you make a risky purchase and get fricked for it, that's on you
right but what's the difference between a charizard from a pack and a charizard from a vendor in the TCG example? now change pack to breeding and vendor to genning, it's the same thing. Neither counterpart is stronger than the other in either example.
Both of the charizards cards were printed and made officially. Just the seller is different.
The genned charizard was not created legitimately, that is the difference, legimitacy.

you're conflating legitimacy and legality. the genned charizard is perfect legit and indistinguishable from a normal charizard, it's not like it has 252 in every stat, but it's not legal per the rule. If a rule in TCG were to exist that you could only use cards you pull from packs, would you not think that's moronic?

That's sealed only and is an actual format where you will be DQ'd for using outside caeds
10 months ago
Anonymous
Not really, if i printed out a fake card that looks exactly the same as a regular card but it gets found out, i would get DQ'd, exactly the same is happening here except with virtual monsters.
But what's the difference between a card and a fake card that has all the same wording and stats
Like i said, legitimacy
a fake card is not an official pokemon TCG card, so cannot be used no matter if all its wording and stats are accurate
10 months ago
Anonymous
>Like i said, legitimacy >a fake card is not an official pokemon TCG card, so cannot be used no matter if all its wording and stats are accurate
And a hacked pokemon doesn't clear all the legitimacy checks, doesn't matter if it's stats and moveset are accurate

My point exactly

Some card games do let you openly use fakes for cooler alternate art though. They're called proxies then and they're usually OK so long as you also own real copies.
Anonymous
That likely depends on the card game and how high up in officiality the tournament is
But just because some do doesn't mean all have to
10 months ago
Anonymous
Now imagine if you got DQ'd for buying a card online instead of pulling it from a pack.

if the card you bought is fake, and fails checks for legitimacy yes, this is the correct outcome.

Your hypothetical doesn't work because buying a card online that is 100% legit is not the same as genning a pokemon, the closest thing would be to buy a 100% legit pokemon online or to buy a fake pokemon card but that looks and is indistinguishable from a real one.
Anonymous
>Buying a real card online that originated from a pack and was sold for profit >Buying a hacked pokemon that fails legality checks because it didn't originate from the same pack >Buying a pokemon that was legit caught/bred in-game and trained and passes legality checks
One of these things is not like the other

I'm not defending poor genning. I said the Charizards were alike in stats. Stats are all that matters

Anonymous
Ok I'll bite cause you're right, I really don't know why they're important. Why are HOME trackers so important for maintaining the legality of a battle, to an equal level of importance as legal stats or movesets?
Anonymous
Home trackers are used to verify the pokemon were legally obtained. Without one it signifies they were created outside of the confines of the game. They're the serial number or authenticity code attached to pokemon. You would be the same type of person to purchase a fake gucci bag because it looks and feels the same but don't understand why it's fake.

>You would be the same type of person to purchase a fake gucci bag because it looks and feels the same but don't understand why it's fake.
Dude I'm on your side but that's only a compliment.
Anonymous
You're misunderstanding. The other poster would KNOW it's fake, but not UNDERSTAND why it's fake. It doesn't have any significant visual indicators that it's fake so they've decided that nothing else matters to gauge authenticity. Another example is swapping license plates on cars. The car is legit but the tags don't match it.

What are you even saying? Buying a card online in my example is the equivalent of genning a Pokemon, not literally buying a Pokemon online.
This whole argument is irrelevant anyways if we're talking about the Pokemon TCG because they print multiple versions of every chase card. All the valuable cards max out at like $10 because there's always a super special awesome yolo swaggins version that's $1-200.
>TCG >Buy cards from every new set >Sometimes have to buy multiple chase cards that value at the price of a box >Sleeves >Mats >Deck box >Storage >If your game has rotation half your cards become useless for any potential number of formats >Buy a high priced card >It gets banned >No cheap digital alternative
>TPCi is so incompetent that they don't check the Home Tracking ID to check if a Pokémon is legit >go to Japan a country that's super serious about catching cheaters >cheaters get caught
Pokémon that need to be transfered through Home get assigned an ID and have metadata on immutable stats like IVs. Either they're getting flagged because they modified a legitimate Pokémon's stats or they generated one directly in Scarlet and Violet without ever getting assigned an ID in Home.
It's not new. When a Pokemon that's not available in SV is transferred to SV, it has to pass through Pokemon Home. Home assigns that Pokemon a tracking ID, which records info on the Pokemon, like its IVs and Nature. Bottle caps and mints don't actually change IVs or Natures, just the stat distribution from them. So if a Pokemon at a tournament is found to have mismatching stats from its Home tracker without the hyper training/mint flag, it's illegal. If a Pokemon is taken to a tournament that's not available in SV and has no Home tracker at all, it's illegal.
This tracker is what's dinging people on genned mons. Not for genning, but for being obvious about it.
"What do you mean the series where the company made it so that you have to have all the games or friends to trade with requires you to have the games or friends to trade with in order to legitimately compete?"

I'd try playing PvP, never played before, but I don't have any legit pokemon games.
Do people still play stuff like Showdown or whatever it's called? is it fun?
>Do people still play stuff like Showdown or whatever it's called? is it fun?
Yes and yes.
Showdown is on an upswing right now imo since a bunch of showdown content on YouTube and such has been popping off the last year or so.
Did everyone gen back in Generation 3-5? They made everything so much easier that last couple games, but back then I don't see how you could get any pokemon with perfect IV's. I also watch old VGC footage and they have shiny legendaries and shit
99% of competitive Pokemon in the history of the series are genned. The only people who complain about genning don't play competitively in the first place. People just like to watch "tryhards" suffer.
So Versilify who is a fricking homosexual btw made a video about all this and someone made a comment about the legality of this in Japan. Can someone confirm this?
There was a case e a few years ago of a dude getting jailed/fined for selling modified botw save files. The way the thing was reported was extremely clickbaity and inflammatory so the details are kind of lost. Some people say that it was not the fact that he was modifying saves but the fact that he was selling them (aka selling intellectual property that is not yours) what was actually illegal.
>selling them (aka selling intellectual property that is not yours) what was actually illegal.

Why do people think they're entitled to the highest level of play of a competition they only see as a side hobby? This is like if a fricking slimy, out of shape soccer commentator got to play at the World Cup.
Cheating is the reason why I've never given a frick about watching pro pokemon lmao, if they want me to watch it they should implement a no tolerance rule and catch all those morons
These guys are joking about it taking forever to make a legit team right? I got 10+ mons perfectly trained last time I was playing SV, it has literally never been easier.
If he had a Cresselia in gen 8 that he hadn't yet sent to Home, he could have edited it there and then sent it to Home. Alternatively, he had a Cresselia in an older gen game and edited it there, then sent it up.
You don't even need to breed in Gen 9. And with the meta bring the same 10 pokemon, you're not spending more than an afternoon doing tera raids for mints, money, bottle caps, and shards.
Gen 9 is piss easy to prep for competitive. Who actually needs to gen? You don't even need to breed anymore with all of these tools available to you.
Having the tools doesn't actually mean it's easier than genning. You can shove all the tools you want in the game, if it isn't easier than genning, players won't do it.
/vp/ loves seething at shills like mista merriku but at the end of the day they show themselves as the biggest bootlickers to gamefeces and their moronic pay2win barriers
ywn top cut a tournament, stay mad homosexuals ywn gen actual skill
yup. and on top of that theres basically zero sightings of foul play/confusion and most trick room teams are better off running neutral nature 31ivs anyway
I just got out my DS and R4, loaded up my old save of Platinum, pulled up the old 4th gen PID to IV and Nature calculators, made a legal 4th Gen Cresselia with a 0ATK IV and 0SPE IV in Pokesav, traded it to my actual Platinum Cart, Poketransferred it to Black, Poketransferred it to Bank, Bank to Home transferred it, moved it from Home to Sword, traded it to a trade bot to get the .pk9 of it, edited the .pk9 in PkHex to have the correct Tera type, moves, EVs and be hyper trained, and traded with a trade bot again to get back a tournament legal Cresselia. All in all it took about an hour. Still significantly faster than playing the game legit.
I do thank the players at Worlds for their noble sacrifice, though. The original Cresselia I had already hacked for my Reg D team would probably have failed a hack check as I had to change its catch location in PkHex to get it "legal", but I had already sent it through Home by that point meaning I had inadvertently changed an immutable value.
In theory wouldn’t this change the meta up if the presence of optimized mons is reduced? I don’t have any real moral qualms about modifying games this way, but rules are rules and they would have been available beforehand so they really only have themselves to blame.
100% agree with this guy. I'm so sick and tired of cookie cutter teams and the people who defend that shit. Also, you're on the internet. There shouldn't be any Pokemon anywhere ever that you don't have access to at this point. But if you really don't have friends or know where to go to find nice people willing to help: Use what you have. Straight up.
>Use what you have. Straight up.
That's the point. People do. 9 times out of 10 you never see them because they lose to people who have what's the meta.
>rulebookgays grandstanding over shit that doesn't affect them
If people used pkhex and failed the hack check they deserve it 100%. There's still plenty of people with properly genned pokemon that made it through.
People are ignoring the biggest issue: at this point you are either a large creator with a discord full of people making you pokemon, or you're dedicating time/money/resources to hunt/breed as many pokemon as possible because gamefreak won't supply an ingame way to manipulate or dictate specific IVs. They've been better in recent years with things like mints, berries, bottlecaps, and making vitamins accessible but refuse to allow players to edit or change Pokemon IVs. Hell the DLC added ANOTHER way to edit EVs for next to no reason. I'm more than happy to join in dunking on these people that got DQ'd, but unless gamefreak includes a system to let you change your Pokemon's IVs they're essentially just propping up every popular creator with an advantage. It takes autist #1 5-10 days to breed/catch 6-10 pokemon and takes content creator #3 45 minutes because he has a fleet of people doing it for him.
These games have always been about the power of friendship. Sucks on you for being a loser homosexual who has to breed and train these pokemon yourselves. Wolfey has dickriders who will bend over backwards to get their pokemon on his teams.
This is actually hilarious. Every single one of these homosexuals are either NEETs or content creators, yet they somehow don't have time to do like 12 hours work total for every worlds team you could want

How? Why? It's so easy to build a team this days.
Why not just hack the bottle caps and mints?
How do those get me a 0 speed IV Cresselia?
There's a genuine argument to be made for how tedious it can be to get a legal Landorus if you don't already have one, but Urshifu you can get so quickly in SwSh DLC from a fresh save since the DLC is available right when you get to the train station
stop making a regulation D team cost $180. also don't make me play through three miserable singleplayer campaigns in a row

3ds games are basically free you hackers are clowns get fricked and stay mad
>just buy a discontinued console bro
that's even worse than just buying a singleplayer game
Everyone over the age of 18 who is into Pokémon has a fricking 3ds laying around somwhere. Seriously stop being fricking lazy or just don't cheat.
I don’t. I played gen1 and gen3 as a kid, that’s all.
And last year started playing Pokemon. Played bw, hgss, sv.
It's hilarious how cheaters used the cope of
>the skill required is the same whether I hack or not
but couldn't display the "skill" of just catching a mon in a recent 20 hour game
Being actually good at VGC requires you to see through the “illusion” of Pokemon and see them as playing pieces, it shouldn’t surprise people that VGC players consequently don’t give a frick about playing 40 hours to have all the resources to make teams.
>make tera shards less grindy to obtain
>add an item that lets you set an iv to zero
Congratulations, the problem is solved
Personally I don't have a major issue with genning since players aren't getting an advantage beyond convenience for doing it, but if I were going to the biggest tournament of my life I know I'd want everything about my team to be legit

Evidently not since it seems like the creators of the game are saying you need to play it in order to play competitive.
>the game is competitive battling
Well they aren't doing that either since they got disqualified for not playing the game.

NTA but frick cheaters
YOU did catch them all, right? Board rules, after all anon.
I caught them all in Gen 4 and Gen 9
I just need to do it for 5, 6 ,7 & 8
Nice, I've done it for Gens 3, 4, 5, 6, and 9 so far myself
Also almost done with 8, Just need to catch Zacian and I'll have Sword. I do have LGE here, pic related, and PLA which I will post next here.
I also have a copies of SM and USUM to do after that, as well as the two 3dses needed to complete it (turns out once the eshop shut down, the regular 3dses at least got real cheap 2nd hand.)
And the PLA thing for it
On a side note, Oak gets really, er, animated when completing the pokedex in LGPE
His life's work completed by a child in less than a year. No wonder he's so hyped
which disqualified player will be the next one hired by tpci for the broadcast booth?
They didn't catch everyone, just the ones who couldnt be bothered to make a legit looking file in pkhex. you are an idiot if you think even a handful of worlds players actually grinded for the 6 Pokemon on their team
what a pussy ass lover holy shit
can i still buy your coaching services?
If you don't want genning to be legal, then you must not want equal grounds for all players without sacrificing the competitive nature of the game. Genning is the only way to accomplish both of those goals.
No, I don't want equal grounds for morons like you, go frick off with your ELO shit to some esports zoomer garbage like league of legends.
The ones playing legit are the ones on unequal ground you moron.
No, the game is preparing a team to compete with, you're skipping half the work
Then why is breeding never on an official Pokemon stream? If it were really half the work, they'd show it for the world to see as part of the nature of the game.
Says who? You?
brother watch the worlds stream tonight and tell me when the breeding pops up on screen. Then when you see battling for 10 hours straight, tell me again with a straight face breeding matters worth a damn
It's boring, and people typically conceal their teams before competitions, moron
Try at least considering some obvious answers to your gay little rhetorical gotchas first
Why do the commentators not talk about the intricacies of proper breeding if it matters so much?
>it's boring
yeah no shit, it's boring because it doesn't fricking matter
No, the game is just Pokemon, plain and simple. You are supposed to be competent at both.
Incorrect. We can compare to horse/dog racing if you would like.
IVs matter for things such as
>speed tuning
>trick room
>0 atk/sp atk for buffing ally
>0 atk against foul play foes
You lack a basic understanding of of competitive if you think 31 is the only relevant IV.
>Putting time and effort into something is TOO HARD FOR ME I should just BE GIVEN EVERYTHING I WANT FOR FREE AND RIGHT NOW NOW NOW
>T. the average Pokemon comp player
I'm so glad I never touched comp filled as it is with spoiled brats like you.
>what we want is genning to be legal
>what we want is genning to be legal
Rusty Bottle Cap is the only thing we need. After that it's just whiny gays who are too lazy to buy a game.
I'd love to believe they are actually doing something to stop hacking finally, but it's probably just
The fact so many people were hackers is NOT because they are any sort of majority in Pokemon, its because they've been running rampant so long the tournament actually drove away respectable esports players and Pokemon fans who viewed it as a total joke. Pic unrelated.
i completely agree with you anon. hopefully they do "boycott" and we see an unironic rise in vgc participation as a result. lol
I've never watched pro pokemon play and will never watch it because they fricking hack their teams. What is the point of me watching if they play with hacked teams? That's the reason I've never been interested in that shit.
>Yeah it can take a fair amount of time to get a team with perfect stats.
In SV it takes less than 5 minutes to get a team of 6IV pokemon.
The problem with sv grinding is tera shards and potentially money to buy all the evs, mints, etc.
>Coincidentally, those Blissey raids are running again right now, so all the cheaters have a chance at easily farming stuff legitimately now.
>They do this the weekend world's is going on instead of BEFORE
I swear the company is actually trolling them. Shit is hilarious.
>it is a totally delusional cope to pretend everyone does it
Even if everyone does it, that doesn't make it right.
The one part of this post that's correct is that an official battle sim would mitigate alot of this shit and is just an objectively good idea.
>all mons available with team transfer ala Stadium
>multiple modes and formats with rewards
>customizable movesets; all mons have access to it's complete learnset with the exception of tutor and egg moves thus still incentivizing owning the other games
>Making a (you) problem a collective problem

Boohoo, morons can't gen their Pokemon and have to actually obtain their Pokemon in a legitimate way (or gen it better)

>spend all day getting mad at players for genning

he lost cause he didn't Gen
He didn't get DQ'd but he fell off 4-3 day 1 and didn't advance to day 2
Proof Verlisfy was a fricking idiot (as if we needed more proof). He's been after this guy for years and he still hasn't even proven the guy is regularly using cheats.
Hard not to cheat when grinding in Pokémon still takes hours
Man it's such a fricking shame the game I play means there's parts I don't like to play
>Buying a third party peripheral to reduce tedium instead of making it easier to get money
XY had a perfect system and they ruined it.
What did XY do differently for the endgame grind? They actually had something other than the Elite 4 battle?
Should have taken all those Kaphotics tweets to heart and learned how to properly gen their mons. homosexuals got too complacent with their incorrect PIDs and weights.
Isn't it super fricking easy to train a team in game these days? Why even bother cheating? Also how do you frick up generating them? Isn't the program to make them checking legality already?
>"only god can judge me!"
>gets disqualified by tpcj hours later
Going on X right now seeing all the cheaters getting mad makes my wiener hard.
MORE OF THIS.
I'M LOVING ALL THIS SHIT.

KEEP CRYING b***h
>Spend all that time, money, and travel planning to participate in a remote event
>Get DQ'd from the event because you chose to cheat in the actual game portion
Pottery
Seriously the people who write shit like this have a massive lack of self consciousness. It's amazing.
Maximum cope
I'm just surprised they're taking a stronger stance on genning all of a sudden. I would've thought morons who spend thousands on traveling for tournaments would have known how to safely gen anyway.
its because japan is serious about the enforcement and america is not
Don't call it X, just don't.
We need an archive of every one of these
KEK
yup ima making a folder for these. thanks for all posting them.
The next these frickers are going to ask for is not having the game to play.
>spend over a day flying across a continent and hours waiting at the event
>in this free time you couldve just found a legit landorus on reputable trade discords or got one yourself
I can show up to the TCG with fake cards and complain I should be allowed to play them
Yes.
>hack badly
>get caught
>woooooooow
How often is 0atk compared to 1 or 2 even relevant? Have these guys actually looked at winning teams? Maybe you can settle for less than perfection buddy.
0 1 2 3 are all the same stat point with a - nature
I thought base stat value makes that vary like it does with effort values, though I'm not saying the cheater crying on Twitter has a point.
This is for confusion right? Lol no match was ever decided by this.
Confusion and foul play
But yes it’s very irrelevant
who is running this magical 0 speed enamorus that is losing outside of trick room every time?
No idea.
How do you calc IVs in PLA when the game doesn't use them?
You can check IV of a freshly caught Pokémon using online IV calculator.
do you not know how stats work in PLA? stop typing, you sound moronic
Pokémon still have IV its just not used for the Stat calculations when using grits. But a freshly caught Pokémon are the same as a Pokémon with no EV from other games so you can calculate the IV.
0 in PLA means anywhere from 0-20 IV on cart and the stats do not directly translate because of how stats in PLA work. You cannot soft reset properly. Stop typing, you sound moronic.
How do you calc what isn't present in the game
PLA doesn't use IVs or Abilities.
You can initiate a trade with a tradebot without actually saving or trading and the tradebot will tell you what IV you get.
Alternatively, learn how to RNG and just guarantee your genie's speed.
The worst part is that the difference between 15 IV and 0 IV is like 4 damage.
Worse, it doesn't even change a lot of the damage. 0~31 attack getting Foul Played is basically the same. Even moreso for Enamorus.
Only a Ghost and Psychic type really cares about that. Cause it might be the difference between surviving a hit or not.
I got one of those off of the GTS. And while it would obviously be hacked, it would still pass the hack check you failed LOL.
Play the game.
I did, unlike the clowns crying on Twitter.
There is no such thing as a daily 6 star raid.
5 star, whatever the frick amount of stars is the daily raid. Point stands regardless of one small error.
Play the game.
If I said nothing besides "daily raid", you wouldn't have had an avenue to nitpick like a overcompensating homosexual, but you knew what was meant. You just want to look intelligent and it's not working out well for you. Now shit out another tired slogan or ill-fitting platitude like a pull string doll as I am expecting of you, kid.
I'm not intelligent just because I caught you lying about something that basic, but thanks for the compliment.
Actually, I just checked and 6 star was the daily. Good going. I haven't played the game since new paradox raids and still remembered correctly. Play the game, Dunning-Kruger moron.
There is no such thing as daily raids, you can do six stars literally all day. Play the game.
If you reset the clock, duh. So in other words, you're just saying the diaper-shitting morons are even more wrong. Thanks for agreeing with me, bud.
No, there isn't a limit, what the frick are you even talking about a clock for? What other morons? I'm just going to notch this one down as yet another pointless ESL convo.
You're actually moronic. 6 are once a day if you don't reset. Maybe if you search lobbies, but literally one person gets one 6 star to host a day. You're just being supremely autistic about this.
Outside of that, people are just whining fricks who don't actually want to play the video game and should just stick to Showdown since that's what they like
t. non-hacking oldgay sick of this issue for 10+ years
Yeah, pretty much no excuse. Accessibility is higher than it's ever been.
This is the gift that keeps on giving.
Yeah, that’s the point of being a pro. You have to sacrifice shit and spend time on it. Why are they so fricking delusional? Entitled manchildren.
I can do that while having my wife and kids and job these losers just want to spend all their time doing anything but play the game until it’s the day of
This is proof these guys don't play the game.
Maybe I’m autistic but I just imagine someone in the pokemon world arguing like this and find it funny. They would most certainly be the villain.
>ugh why do I have to spend time and effort catching and training mons? Just give me some clones and let me battle
He acts like they need hundreds of battle ready Pokemon when the VGC meta always ends up pretty restrictive anyway.
>athlete has to spend hundreds of hours of exercising and training for the big moment
>what do you mean I can't use illegitimate substances to speed up the process it's the same skill
>homosexual complaining about the same thing except it's just playing a video game
>game holds your hand the entire way and makes it so easy to legitimately modify your Pokémon
>still cries about the "sacrifice" of playing a Pokémon game for a few hours
Wait you mean I can't take horse testosterone to be better at playing baseball? That's fricking unfair!!!
>Just use your whole time farming Tera raids
Or they could just accept that Sw/Sh and S/V are dogshit games and TPC should suffer because of it.
Instead, they dicksuck every minute of every day because they are adickted.
If it's this much of a hassle to compete, then don't? You're not entitled to a fighting chance in a video game tournament
If you get DQ'd for cheating, you should get banned from tournaments for at least 5 years. Honestly, this shit is just clown shoes. if TPCI wants to ever be taken seriously, they need to start treating this shit seriously.
YOU DONT UNDERSTAND BRO
I DONT HAVE TIME TO PLAY THE GAME LEGIT FOR 5 HOURS TO PREP MY TEAM BEFOREHAND. I GOTTA USE THE HACKMONS OKAY.
>Posting the exact opposite of what actually happened

Why is she half bald?
Hackercucks… we’re trannies now
Any time spent on raising Pokemon for competitive battling is a waste. That time could be spent actually battling and teambuilding instead.
Raising Pokemon is half the game.
The only thing that happens at tournaments is battling.
Using the games, not a simulator.
Then why are they only playing "half the game" at tournaments?
>All this shit can be done legitimately in no time at all
If it's still slower than genning, then it is always better to gen.
>indicates no actual interest in Pokemon itself
Some are only interested in battling, the thing that happens when you enter a tournament.
>Some are only interested in battling, the thing that happens when you enter a tournament.
Yeah they're called Spikes and everyone hates them, they're literally ruining women's sports as we speak.
Competition attracts competitive people and the highest levels of competition attracts the most competitive people.
Yes, as I said, a bunch of buttholes everyone hates.
So you just dislike competition entirely?
Actually a good analogy since trans athletes mostly don't care about the effort they need to put.
>Can be bought
When money farming in this game is a nightmare
If you want specific spreads and have to grind for feathers even more so.
>We're suppose to..play the game?
>Inject 999 Ability Patches (No one's going to track this)
>Sell 50 of them
>Never have to worry about money again
Even when shortcutting it's still braindead easy.
If you can't do that just use a bot to send you patches until you have enough cash.
>bot
Explain further.
Sysbot. Look for discord channels with em. Very easy to get any Pokémon you want except that if used incorrectly well shit like what we seeing happens.
>money farming in SV
>a nightmare
Bro? Your Hyper Voice Pixelate Sylveon and turbo controller?
I didnt see any raising Pokemon on the stream yesterday, were we watching different World Championships?

the absolute state of vgcgays lol
>WHAT? I HAVE TO BUY A GAME TO COMPETE WITH IT?
Of course a trannie would defend hACKed pokemon
If you don't have the time to actually play the game then you logically shouldn't have the time to compete in the first place.
Funny how they all say they have no time, given they've got the time to defend themselves on Twitter 24/7
>didn't play Pokemon until Gen 8
Kek VGCgays be like this.
BLOWN THE FRICK OUT
>cheating in a kids game
>cheating in a competitive environment
How does one defend this
LMAO
I don't understand, don't these pros have teams of people working for them? Can't they just hand off the breeding and shit to one of their followers?
Not everyone is Wolfey.
Dude back in the day I bred Pokémon for pro players and made good money doing it cause I was paid in BTC. There are people out there who breed Pokémon.
Yeah, why you need to do that now if you can gen them for free though?
damn robby, you should have just moved your legendaries back and forth through home to correct their missing hidden values. skill issue. maybe next year!
LMAO Verslis needs to shut the frick up cause he's been caught cheating before. The only reason he's not competing in tournaments is because he isn't good enough.
I mean, ofc, dude needs some attention for his channel
don't bottlecaps exist?
And mints that change your nature.
To get a 0 attack/0 speed Cresselia is unfairly difficult tbh
>event exclusive
That's no longer a thing and hasn't been a thing since Gen8 when all your moves get wiped.
>"Some mons that are NEEDED for competitive"
Needed against what? Oher pokemon that were hacked in? If his argument is that they're NEEDED against pokemon you can get normally without issue then he just sounds like a b***h that didn't want to play the game.
Don't all these shoddily genned mons come from them making them from scratch without paying attention? Can't you just get a legit one, modify the stats and movesets, and all the other hidden parameters will be fine?
What are the chances this is true, and not blatant misinformation to make the leadership seem worse than they are?
What about the fact that no a single person who was DQ for gening has denied it and instead are pissed because gening should be legal now.
whenever they refer to "someone" else, its fake news.
>furryhomosexual and gayflag
100% made up
I cant believe i lived to see people justify hacking mons ina tournament
>I would rather exploit a nintendo console security flaw than play the games
based TPC outing the fraud pokemon masters
Cheaters getting BTFO will never get old.
>hated pokemon
>likes vgc
what
He wants to play a competitive game but doesn't want to put more effort into it.
>WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN'T JUST PRINT OUT MY CARDS
>WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN'T BUY MY CARDS OFF TCGPLAYER.COM
>Buy cards online
>Be too stupid to check if they're legit
>Go to a world championship
>Get DQ'd because my cards are fake
HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?
>buys cards online
>its fake
>gets refund, buys another
>its real
>goes to event
WOAH
>He thinks a fake seller is going to be honorable and give a refund
Inversely, people who don't gen have less time for that so it's still unfair. What a dipshit.
I use Pkhex a lot (mostly for storage purposes) but seeing this is so fricking funny
Pkhex literally fricking tells you if something is wrong with your Pokemon
How do you FRICK UP that bad?
this
Don't they test their genned mons on the actual game online to see if it passes?
Or is there some secret special check just for VGC matches?
Nah they just checking for the correct Home Tracking ID. It's so easy to pass that you have to be an idiot to fail at that.
I heard it's just a Home check or something?
If getting mons is so easy these days, why do people still complain about more time to practice being the reason why genners perform better at events?
overdue justice. most of the current players should have been banned from competitive in gens 3 and 4 when max ivs were basically impossible without rng (and even with rng, some mons still couldnt be generated right like the follow me mons from the gamecube games). instead they're broadcasters for pokemon
that sounds a combination of spite and skill issues
the people complaining about getting disqualified for cheating dont even realize how easy it is now to play legitimately. there's no excuse anymore. no time to get a landorus? lmfao
Players should play by rules, but rules shouldn't be moronic. Mons should be accessible without the use of another game if said mon is legal in the format. I'm not gonna fault someone who started this gen and is on their first words run if they dont wanna buy SwSh + DLC + tax
This season was specifically about bringing older game Pokemon forward so if you chose to go into this season without thinking about spending some more cash you deserve to fail ngl
Reg A-C were all formats with only Scarlet Violet main dex legal mons. You know, the formats that were played throughout the majority of 2023???
It's almost like the seasons change holy shit no way
Oh mighty prophet who knew at the beginning of Regulation C that Worlds wouldn't be the same format as if every other previous year didn't set a precedent, you're just too good for me.
>Complaining about needing past games in a season explicitly about bringing mons from past games forward
it'd be interesting to see who got disqualified for cheating certain legends this weekend because they didn't have "access" yet used those same monsters in tournaments years prior. its not about access, its lazy entitlement. no excuse for the world championships
>I shouldn't be disqualified because I spent money to get here
Imagine thinking you're better than smogoncucks
If they hate playing the Pokémon Games maybe they should stick to Showdown.
That's what I'm saying. But looking at these comments, I think alot of these VGC players are genuine fricking morons.
If you gave me PBR for VGC, I'd never touch a mainline game again. Pokemon in game is fricking awful, VGC is based.
I'm on X right now telling the gays that got DQ to stop cheating gonna see if I get some juicy responses.
To be fair it does take an insane amount of time to get all the tera shards to change 6 tera types. Other than that it's whatever
Should have just grinded the Blissey events that gave you tons of shards. Coincidentally, those Blissey raids are running again right now, so all the cheaters have a chance at easily farming stuff legitimately now.
>Coincidentally, those Blissey raids are running again right now
Aw shit for real? Thank God, I did them for only an hour last time they were here. thinking I'd just do more tomorrow. You're an butthole but thank you.
Seriously wtf is wrong with VGC players? Are they all lazy cheaters?
>I was a professional solo player for a different game. I sacrificed lots of time every day to practice. I used maths and edited meta formulas to calculated individualized stuff. I laughed at this child before.
Now I understand his worldview. Resetting for the Cresselia and Enamorus that didn't get me out of pools requires sacrifice.
I was literary the best high school wrestling athlete at my state and I was 100% clean. I competed against many who definitely used steroids and when they caught them they got so mad. Like some of em even asked me, hey bro how you do pass the drug tests? I'm like by not taking drugs and being clean.
Do any of you even play comp?
I fricking hate E-Sports, but Pokemon """pros""" are on another level.
Someone post this on Twitter and watch the seethe
honestly for how baby of a game pokemon is (you click on 1 of 4 moves each turn) it is wild how much the stats and behind the scenes shit matters. what other competitive game needs you to do this much extra shit just to prepare to play?
>you click on 1 of 4 moves each turn
You do what now? I'm confused, explain that again.
>You do what now? I'm confused, explain that again.
Are you fricking ESL? What kind of morons are flocking to this thread?
Clearly you're the ESL here if that joke really went over your head.
Every TCG, you need to get cards
Every MOBA, you need to have characters unlocked
same for hero shooters
tons of shit has requirements bro
in MOBAs everything is automatically unlocked in games
i was a reserve for a grassroot 2nd league polish league of legends team
>in MOBAs everything is automatically unlocked in games
That's not what every MOBA is like.
Maybe, but who cares about different mobas than lol?
>Every MOBA, you need to have characters unlocked
do lolbabs and unitechinks really
Unite's tournament mode unlocks all of the characters.
Is this not like saying if you don't pull your cards from packs and instead buy them online or from a vendor, they're fraudulent?
No one is stopping you from buying pokemon though, they're only stopping you from buying hacked pokemon
>Illegal Pokemon = 252 in each stat, genned
>Legit Pokemon = legal stats, genned
>Legal Pokemon = legal stats, not genned
Legit and Legal should be permitted, Illegal should not. Imagine if you put buying cards from vendors on the same tier as Legal Pokemon.
Legit Pokemon*, typo
Is the card I'm buying from a vendor a official card that was pulled from a pack or was it generated by some chink on ebay
It's an official card, but it's illegal per the imaginary rule in my example that states no cards bought online can be used
That's sealed only and is an actual format where you will be DQ'd for using outside caeds
Not really, if i printed out a fake card that looks exactly the same as a regular card but it gets found out, i would get DQ'd, exactly the same is happening here except with virtual monsters.
Like i said, legitimacy
a fake card is not an official pokemon TCG card, so cannot be used no matter if all its wording and stats are accurate
>Like i said, legitimacy
>a fake card is not an official pokemon TCG card, so cannot be used no matter if all its wording and stats are accurate
And a hacked pokemon doesn't clear all the legitimacy checks, doesn't matter if it's stats and moveset are accurate
My point exactly
Some card games do let you openly use fakes for cooler alternate art though. They're called proxies then and they're usually OK so long as you also own real copies.
That likely depends on the card game and how high up in officiality the tournament is
But just because some do doesn't mean all have to
Now imagine if you got DQ'd for buying a card online instead of pulling it from a pack.
if the card you bought is fake, and fails checks for legitimacy yes, this is the correct outcome.
holy shit the card you bought online is real in my example. I know you know this is what I implied but can you not be an obtuse moron
No because your argument is moronic and not an equivilent of what happened to people purchasing genned pokemon
You're not even trying to engage with my hypothetical. I'll take this as a concession.
>Waaah you're not taking my moronicness seriously!!!
Learn English stupid mf, goddamn this thread is infested with you people.
ty esl
np etl
cry more
Your hypothetical doesn't work because buying a card online that is 100% legit is not the same as genning a pokemon, the closest thing would be to buy a 100% legit pokemon online or to buy a fake pokemon card but that looks and is indistinguishable from a real one.
>Buying a real card online that originated from a pack and was sold for profit
>Buying a hacked pokemon that fails legality checks because it didn't originate from the same pack
>Buying a pokemon that was legit caught/bred in-game and trained and passes legality checks
One of these things is not like the other
>because it didn't originate from the same pack
my whole point is this is moronic. who cares what pack it came from, it has the same density and card text as one I pulled from a normal pack
>Buy a card that came from an official pack
>Buy a pokemon that was created by a third party program that doesn't clear legality because it was poorly genned
I'm not defending poor genning. I said the Charizards were alike in stats. Stats are all that matters
Anonthe reason they got caught was because they had poorly genned shit, it'd be the same as buying an obvious fake card and getting mad you get DQ'd for it
Anon nothing was wrong with their stats, they had no HOME trackers. What exactly is "poorly genned" to you? If the stats are right, I really don't care
>What exactly is "poorly genned
>they had no HOME trackers.
You're so close to figuring it out
your definition of "poorly genned" is shit. lacking HOME trackers isn't a bad gen, illegal stats makes a bad gen
>Doesn't pass the legality checker
>somehow isn't poorly genned
HOME trackers don't affect a battle, stats do. Yes of course it didn't pass a legality check, because they had no trackers. That doesn't mean those mons had any advantage over other one of its kind
Youre a shitty cheater
Why are you so ass blasted about cheating you're not a dirty cheater right anon ?
Oh I breed/catch all my mons. I just think genning should be legal and people against it are coping because they have VGC skill issues
Yeah I'm going to be honest. I don't really care what you have to say. I lost interest when you said "Genning should be legal" go join your vgcsisters on twitter.
I accept your concession! Also you've been replying a Ganker thread fueled by twitter images, you might as well be a sister yourself
>No YOU'RE the SISTER
The second you started gaslighting and saying genning should ne legal (which will never happened) There was nothing to discuss. You lost.
>she thought I was denying I'm a sister
sis please, you don't have to front, we're super friendly 😉
>mindbroken this quickly
I accept your concession.
>projecting
No no sis, I accept YOUR concession wholeheartedly
>she's still going
Damn, I still got it.
And I'll keep going until I finish shiny hunting this Basculin.
And then you'd be outplayed by the Japanese government and immediately deported
>hmm yes this obviously hacked mon is not poorly genned because I say so!
No home tracker means it was poorly made. It's like giving squirtle flamethrower.
I don't think the two are equivalent, but if believe so we probably won't agree on much.
You don't think they're equivalent because you don't understand how serious home trackers are.
Ok I'll bite cause you're right, I really don't know why they're important. Why are HOME trackers so important for maintaining the legality of a battle, to an equal level of importance as legal stats or movesets?
Home trackers are used to verify the pokemon were legally obtained. Without one it signifies they were created outside of the confines of the game. They're the serial number or authenticity code attached to pokemon. You would be the same type of person to purchase a fake gucci bag because it looks and feels the same but don't understand why it's fake.
>You would be the same type of person to purchase a fake gucci bag because it looks and feels the same but don't understand why it's fake.
Dude I'm on your side but that's only a compliment.
No I'm saying homosexuals that actually care about "realness" when it comes to shit like purses and shoes are giant losers. It's fricking clothes, no one gives a shit but women.
What I'm saying is homosexuals that actually care about "realness" when it comes to shit like pokemon and genning are giant losers. It's fricking pokemon, no one cares except men.
Nice "own" lmao. Men care about honor and women care about how much money you spent on her, yes.
>talking about honor on a pokemon image board
I bet you smell like week old garbage
So you admit then that cheating is dishonorable?
what does any of this have to do with the battle??? all of this double talk is just cosmetic bullshit about the pokemon, not anything to do with how it interacts with other mons in battle
Don't change the conversation because you've run out of responses.
>Why are HOME trackers so important for maintaining the legality of a battle
>rants about cosmetic features
>"ok but what about the battle"
>don't change the subject
?
>Anon nothing was wrong with their stats, they had no HOME trackers. What exactly is "poorly genned" to you? If the stats are right, I really don't care
Don't change the conversation
you're the one that equated a squirtle learning flamethrower to these dumb trackers, you tell me how and why they influence a battle like a mon learning a move it can't use
you're braindead aren't you?
>genned pokemon with home tracker
not dqd
>genned pokemon without home tracker
dqd
No amount of mental gymnastics will change that fact. Going into a hack check without a home tracker is announcing to everyone that your pokemon are illegitimate
ok but does not having a home tracker make my charizard flamethrower twice as strong or something? do I get 100% acc on all moves without a home tracker? what competitive edge do I gain?
It doesn't matter. You're not allowed to use illegal or modified pokemon per the rules. If you don't know how to hack then don't hack. Does your autistic brain understand that.
It does matter you moron. That is my whole point, the rule is arbitrary and moronic. Maybe don't respond to a thread if you can't keep up with it.
>i've decided it's arbitrary so it's arbitrary
I wonder how many poorly hacked pokemon you have abandoned in old titles because they didn't beat the bank/home filters
They get to rot away on HOME as a reminder from when I genned shit mons
Would you also cheat in an mmorpg to instantly get max level and perfect gear? I mean, the other pvp players have that, so it's fair right?
I've never played an mmorpg, but unironically this sounds fair as long as it's single player pvp. I'm sure I'm missing another layer to the mmorpg example though
If by "didn't originate from the same pack" you mean some bootleg chinese pokemon card pack, then yes get banned for using fake cards
You're moronic.
You can buy and obtain legitimate Pokemon from other people. This isn't the own you think it is.
What are you even saying? Buying a card online in my example is the equivalent of genning a Pokemon, not literally buying a Pokemon online.
Your example is genuinely moronic
moron
But what's the difference between a card and a fake card that has all the same wording and stats
This whole argument is irrelevant anyways if we're talking about the Pokemon TCG because they print multiple versions of every chase card. All the valuable cards max out at like $10 because there's always a super special awesome yolo swaggins version that's $1-200.
>TCG
>Buy cards from every new set
>Sometimes have to buy multiple chase cards that value at the price of a box
>Sleeves
>Mats
>Deck box
>Storage
>If your game has rotation half your cards become useless for any potential number of formats
>Buy a high priced card
>It gets banned
>No cheap digital alternative
Yep. Getting into VGC Doubles has never been so easy yet cheaters still cheat.
At least you don't have to crack packs until you open every card you need.
But you don't have to do that in VGC either. The only defense people have is for a 0 IV,at least in previous gens you had the excuse of Hidden Power.
Man what makes some VGC players be so entitled?
Kek homie got mad he got called out.
Holy meltdown
>you should only need the current version
I wonder what his opinions on the dexcut were.
>video games cp
>CP
uhhhhhhhhhh police?
https://strawpoll.com/e2nard3xMgB
Doing some research
I don't necessarily oppose genning, but I'm also not gonna cry over seeing people get DQed for it.
More people are needed for more accuracy... But get rekt.
So what is setting off this new check and getting people DQ'd?
Frickers being lazy with their hacks.
>TPCi is so incompetent that they don't check the Home Tracking ID to check if a Pokémon is legit
>go to Japan a country that's super serious about catching cheaters
>cheaters get caught
there is no new check, is morons being morons at injecting then b***hing because they got found out
Pokémon that need to be transfered through Home get assigned an ID and have metadata on immutable stats like IVs.
Why are people surprised when competitive battlers don't want to play the shitty single player RPGs that gamefreak squeezes out every other year?
>Why should competitive video game players...play le video game?
The why the frick are they trying to get into vgc, there is no prize money you know, just play vgc in showdown and is the same shit.
Wait a minute, there's no money in VGC?
So are you saying they doing it for free?
Yes, this is what makes everything so fricking stupid, there is no money, the only reason anyone would play VGC is because they are ultra fanatics of the franchise, but apparently a lot of people are doing it to inflate their ego instead, thats why they are so fricking salty.
there are rewards
1st place - $10,000, a World Champion Trophy, a Champion Stamped Worlds Promo Card, Top 8/16/32 Stamped World Promo Cards, Champion Hoodie, Champion Playmat, Champion Messenger Bag, Champion Hat, Top 8 Playmat, Top 8 Hat, Top 32 Hat
2nd place - $7,500, Finalist Trophy, Finalist Stamped Worlds Promo Card, Top 8/16/32 Stamped World Promo Cards, Top Trainer Messenger Bag, Top 8 Playmat, Top 8 Hat, Top 32 Hat
3rd-4th place - $5,000, Semifinalist Trophy, Semifinalist Stamped Worlds Promo Card, Top 8/16/32 Stamped World Promo Cards, Top Trainer Messenger Bag, Top 8 Playmat, Top 8 Hat, Top 32 Hat
5th-8th place - $3,000, Top Trainer Messenger Bag, Top 8/16/32 Stamped World Promo Cards, Top 8 Playmat, Top 8 Hat, Top 32 Hat
9th-16th place - $1,500, Top Trainer Messenger Bag, Top 16/32 Stamped World Promo Cards, Top 32 Hat
Wow at least there's something but don't pro players usually get sponsorships and shit?
>care about the games enough to play competitively at tournaments
>can't gen in legit-looking Pokemon
???
I'd try playing PvP, never played before, but I don't have any legit pokemon games.
Do people still play stuff like Showdown or whatever it's called? is it fun?
Yes and it's decent. Way slicker than Shoddy used to be. But I prefer cart
That's the reason this problem exists in the first place. People have been cheating for over ten years and now everybody feels entitled to cheat
doesn't help that those entitled cheaters now run the show in most of the americas. thats why this japan series was a cheating wake up call
I hope that TPC Japan realizes how rampant cheating is in America and tells TPCi to start cracking down on cheaters.
99% of competitive Pokemon in the history of the series are genned. The only people who complain about genning don't play competitively in the first place. People just like to watch "tryhards" suffer.
Keep crying.
So Versilify who is a fricking homosexual btw made a video about all this and someone made a comment about the legality of this in Japan. Can someone confirm this?
>people have received jail time for genning in Japan
LMAO can you imagine these kids getting locked up for cheating a pokemon game?
>get caught for cheating in pokemon
>Get sent to jail
>Forced to put Dynamax bugs up your ass
There was a case e a few years ago of a dude getting jailed/fined for selling modified botw save files. The way the thing was reported was extremely clickbaity and inflammatory so the details are kind of lost. Some people say that it was not the fact that he was modifying saves but the fact that he was selling them (aka selling intellectual property that is not yours) what was actually illegal.
>selling them (aka selling intellectual property that is not yours) what was actually illegal.
THIS
imagine being sent to jail because you are modding kid game
>all those butt-hurt replies
Why people short disqualified to DQ? That reads like Dragon Quest to me every single time, just type the whole word if you're that lazy.
real ESL hours
If this is supposed to be an own against being lazy, this is the most moronic thing you could've typed up
Why do people think they're entitled to the highest level of play of a competition they only see as a side hobby? This is like if a fricking slimy, out of shape soccer commentator got to play at the World Cup.
It IS lazy, and it's nonsensical.
ok moonruner
i can't fricking breathe
>That reads like Dragon Quest to me every single time
I mean I get you but dude, context ffs
Cheating is the reason why I've never given a frick about watching pro pokemon lmao, if they want me to watch it they should implement a no tolerance rule and catch all those morons
These guys are joking about it taking forever to make a legit team right? I got 10+ mons perfectly trained last time I was playing SV, it has literally never been easier.
You're telling me that Japanese player last night with the shiny 0 speed IV cresselia got that thing legitimately?
Maybe, maybe not but the dude wasn't an idiot about it.
cress could actually be RNG from an older generation. at the very least they werent moronic enough to fail the home hack check.
If he had a Cresselia in gen 8 that he hadn't yet sent to Home, he could have edited it there and then sent it to Home. Alternatively, he had a Cresselia in an older gen game and edited it there, then sent it up.
There’s like 10 games with Cresselias, I’ve got 5 of them. pretty easy
Then they should stop playing a game they obviously dont like.
They love VGC, not in-game Pokemon. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
>Stealing is easier money than working a job.
/vp/ loves seething at shills like mista merriku but at the end of the day they show themselves as the biggest bootlickers to gamefeces and their moronic pay2win barriers
ywn top cut a tournament, stay mad homosexuals ywn gen actual skill
>pay2win
As opposed to hack2win and pay 1000 to enter 2 win? You're forced to do this either way.
>.t Brady
Breeding this days is not even needed anymore except for 0IV. You can get any Pokémon at max stats easy. There's no excuse to cheat.
yup. and on top of that theres basically zero sightings of foul play/confusion and most trick room teams are better off running neutral nature 31ivs anyway
Did he get disqualified for using cheated pokemons?
or maybe he threw to save face for being outed as a cheater..
He has people that either are good using pkhex or breed Pokémon for him.
>people start getting getting caught for hacks
>build legit team real quick
>throw cause they aren’t optimized
>escape scandal
sasuga Wolfey
The original Cresselia I had already hacked for my Reg D team would probably have failed a hack check as I had to change its catch location in PkHex to get it "legal", but I had already sent it through Home by that point meaning I had inadvertently changed an immutable value.
> noble sacrifice
In theory wouldn’t this change the meta up if the presence of optimized mons is reduced? I don’t have any real moral qualms about modifying games this way, but rules are rules and they would have been available beforehand so they really only have themselves to blame.
I used to gen NU pokemon and transfer them to pokemon battle revolution and stomp kids that used their legendaries. Was I a bad person? A CHEATER?
Perhaps, but you were a necessary evil.
Centro not being a Black person for once.
People gonna get mad at him lol
> don't cheat in muh shitty ass games to do the only good part of the games that is the competitive
Who are you? The fun police? Get off my dick
Hoodlum got BLACKED.

Transgenners btfo
This is actually hilarious. Every single one of these homosexuals are either NEETs or content creators, yet they somehow don't have time to do like 12 hours work total for every worlds team you could want
Why would you cheat in Japan of all places? People get put in jail for save states there ffs.
