Is that a low number or a high number? I'm feeling low because the Sweet Baby Detected thing has like 30k subscribers.

        >because the Sweet Baby Detected thing has like 30k subscribers.
        Try 372k.

I feel like we need at least 100k signatures. 10k is only for an "answer" but that doesn't mean it'll be a serious one. So I don't think we've got things in the bag with 7k.

Petitions run for six months. Still, even with 100k signatures it's still only a "maybe." But it's worth a shot.

Personally I think specifically referencing video games was a bad idea. It should have been a more generic "software." Bt whatever.

Ross specifically wants to avoid software to not encounter Adobe's lawyers and the like.

This demonstrates a bigger problem. "Vote with your wallet" shit doesn't work (at least)anymore. Mass appeal is the safest bet. The general public does not give a frick, and they end up ruining things for the minority that does care by buying these products.

"vote with your wallet" means "at least you won't have paid money for that shitty game all the morons are buying"

"Voting with your wallet" doesn't work andn never did, it accomplishes nothing. Meanwhile now we have the opportunity to actually make game companies feel some heat under their arses and you gays keep complaining about it.

The point is that we want to bring actual change to gaming and us not paying for these shit games accomplishes absolutely fricking nothing. Keep crying that we want companies like Ubisoft to actually feel threatened for once

By the end of the decade every indie and shovelware title will be GaaSed because they will be incentivized to be sold that way.
By the distributor, by "moneyhatting", anyone with deep pockets who wants to keep the scam going.
It's not about the current situation as it is about the direction the industry is taking.

Voting with your wallet doesn't work when you can only vote no once, but people can vote yes multiple times. And it's not even a real 'no' vote since digital products don't have any overhead once they're complete, it's just an abstain.

I haven't bought anything ubisoft in decades. They're still making billions of dollars and releasing new games. Tell me again how "voting with my wallet" totally works, you mouth-breathing moron.

It's crazy that so many of us have the same experience, none of us buy Ubisoft games yet that doesn't stop a mountain of mouth breathing morons from gargling them up

Same thing with Blizzard fans. Blizzard is actively anti-human and anti-consumer and those people still break down into tears when they're dangled yet another 60$ nostalgia bait remaster.

Things can't be this fricking bad bros.

      >the government must put an end to this
This is basically the only real function of government, to guarantee basic rights.
When you make a purchase, you become the owner of what you bought and the seller no longer has any rights over the product he sold you. This is an essential rule that makes the most basic thing in any society work: exchanges between people. Without this basic rule, all commercial exchanges become dubious and no one can trust anyone anymore.
Digital games are not magical things that can escape this rule. If you bought a piece of software (instead of subscribing to a service), no matter how the software was delivered to you by the seller, you own your copy.
But look, basically everyone already follows this rule. Not just for software, but hardware too. If Nintendo sees that you've modified your Switch, they don't touch your console, they just refuse to provide the NSO service for you (the only thing they can do, since you have the right to modify your own console). Steam can't remove your games from your PC, it's your copy, not theirs. And so on.
The thing about The Crew is that the whole game is dependent on a service, so Ubisoft would have had to sell it as a subscription to a service and not as a product, to be honest with its consumers.

          >Nintendo might hold out for a generation because they figured out how to keep selling old games to new kids, but even that won't last.
What's the matter, goy? Why would you want to play that old abandonware when GoyFall 9001: The Regurgitation is coming out? Now with 41% more POX and trans!
