FF14 is a casual game with some midcore/hardcore content. WoW is a midcore/hardcore game with some casual content. Take your pick.
Also, by casual, I don't mean it in some elitist "this is lesser content" kind of way. FF14 has a load of activities you can do completely on your own with no outside pressure or restrictions. You can level the jobs (classes, all on one character), level crafting, buy a house, decorate the house, collect things, own an island, go to a casino, do non-demanding group content, etc. Perfect for if you don't have a lot of time for games but want to play an MMO.
WoW, on the other hand, does have this type of content (mount and transmog farming, pet battles, world quests, etc.), but it's more of a consequence of/in support of M+ (timed dungeons that scale for better rewards) and raiding, which require more of your time because the content and rewards are seasonal. The upside is that WoW's endgame is pretty much the pinnacle of group/team based content in current day gaming (at least, I can't think of a better example).

Let's be fair, Dalaran kinda earned being destroyed with the whole "Let's make the Artifact weapons useless to CPR Azeroth." and then basically calling it a day while Azeroth is still bleeding out, Makes perfect sense Random Knife would take revenge even beyond the fact Dalaran basically proved over and over that it is a invaluable tactical asset over the years, leaving it be at this point would just be villain stupidity.
