Meanwhile, in Stormgate I've seen a race with mechanical giant Murlocs with a gatling machineguns, Starcraft marines fighting in melee with lances, and robot dogs. It just doesn't make any sense.

I don't understand the appeal to this game. People are hailing it as the best RTS ever made when I don't see a single thing that is new. Obviously they want the star craft crowd, but why would a star craft player want to play this? It's got less interesting units. Why would I give a shit about these factions? Starcraft Terran are cool because they have a story. Same with zerg and protoss. What's the story here? All the units look the same and the art style looks very bland. Why would a command and conquer player, age of empires player, or company of heroes player want to play this? The economy is as simplistic as star craft. The units don't have the modern military or historical military appeal. The sci fi/ fantasy isn't as good or distinct as blizzard games. The tactical unit focus doesn't have what CoH/Dawn of War has so what's the point? What catagory does this hit? Why is it the hype? Is it simply because the devs are famous for starcraft? Is this just marketing? I mean they have guys like Asmongold playing who can barely grasp the basics of an RTS. It's all youtuber hype. There are other RTS games in development that I think have way more appeal. I would rather play an existing RTS than stormgate.
