>everyone says Dhalsim is one of the hardest characters to learn and use properly >I actually find him easier to use than most of the cast
anyone else like this?
is it because he's more of a thinking man's slow and methodical character?
He's not execution-heavy outside of remembering to hold back for his shorter faster buttons. He's all spacing, conditioning, and being able to anti-air consistently (and he's got the most anti-airs in the whole cast so if you know what to use for what spacing it's easy).
Went from silver 1 star to gold 3 star in a few hours as Sim. But now I'm stuck at gold 3 because I just can't deal with most of the casts pressure in this game, every character just has so much bullshit that Sim can't deal with. Sim is bottom tier.
I think Zangief is alright but I don't know what his main way of dealing with projectiles is. In 4 it was Green Hand, in 5 it was headbutt, in 6 you have to use meter just for regular projectiles?
>do my placements with Ryu >beat Silver, Gold easily, beat a plat Blanka >last match is on a Plat 5 Marisa >take a match off her >get placed in Diamond 1 >proceed to lose the next two matches and get deranked back to Plat 5
Really didn't expect that considering I placed Gold in the 3 other characters I played before getting them to Plat. Seems like cheating to just get instantly placed there let alone Diamond
just keep your silver opinions to yourself please. Chun has one of the best buttons even over cammy. Can deliver nonstop pressure with drive rush and her anti air conversions do about 40%. She crushes a large portion of the cast and is even with the top tiers. Cammy is slight advantage over most of cast and obviously even with chun and juri
Chun is the easily one the most powerful characters in the game. Daigo rates her higher than Guile and I agree, she's the best fireball (zoner?) after DJ.
Like amazing buttons, good anti air that doesn't require charge, good fireball, amazing conversions and by far the best whiff punish in the game. Easily top tier
She's good, easily high tier. But there's no reason to play her unless you just happen to personally like her. She's a lot of work to play to not really get any real advantages over playing an easier top tier, she's not even weird enough to exploit match up check knowledges. I guess she might have a solid Guile match up?
I see a majority of people actually playing avatar battles but I like to que for ranked in it and if I get too frustrated just play casual matches in the Hub or an old Capcom game
Battle hub is exactly what I wanted in sf. Almost feels like stepping into a real arcade, not knowing if that guy at the cabinet is a highly ranked guy or just some scrub, and the matches feel more relaxed than ranked. Avatar battles are fun too. I can see myself forgetting about ranked and just playing battle hub constantly. I’m not really Master material anyway.
>get Chun to gold >can't do a fricking Chun combo to save my life aside from crouching medium kick into lightning legs
it's kind of depressing. I like the way Chun plays in theory, but the execution is pretty tough
Reached Diamond yesterday.
Literally dont feel like playing anymore, whats the point, I dont particularly feel like getting even better, Ill never go to tourneys and from Diamond and onwards it gets too sweaty, I will have to lab shit constantly.
What now
pick a new character, purposely lose every placement match so you're put as low rank as possible, then beat up people at that rank
bonus points for purposely losing points so you don't promote out of it
Yeah I guess trying a new character is my best option, dont know who though, nobody really clicking for me, I hope Aki is fun
I wonder if Capcom is gonna be like other multiplayer games and reset the rank every season
pick a new character, purposely lose every placement match so you're put as low rank as possible, then beat up people at that rank
bonus points for purposely losing points so you don't promote out of it
They have that dumbass battlepass feature, so they might reset ranks every time the battlepass updates or maybe once every other battlepass. "Seasons" and rank resets are important for player retention so I'd bet money that's what they'll do.
>winstreak from gold 1 to gold 2 >halfway to gold 3, one more win will rank me up >lose the winstreak >trade wins and losses for an hour and end the same place i started
I want to die.
I'm conflicted on that because I'm trash and I rely on the winstreaks to fraud my way through the ranks, but I also get really nervous when I get them and ridiculously tilted when I lose one. Just knowing how cheap it is and how it lets basically anyone get to plat makes me feel worse when I lose it and have to spend more time grinding in gold than I realistically should.
I think ranked will be more fun when it get to just play, I win what I win and lose what I lose.
Just started getting into this but I'm getting my ass handed to me every time I do matchmaking. Is there any ogga booga strat that will get me a couple easy wins like Paul in tekken so I can savage some serotonin to keep going at it? Preferably with Juri or Guile
1. JP's entire character is extreme nihilism and dismissing that people give a shit about anybody else, him losing a fight when he has no chance of having his crimes revealed to the public DOES mean nothing because he put safeguards into place.
2. The story will continue with the DLC, it'll be about Neo Shadaloo and them struggling against JP over Psycho Power. Akuma will roll up to JP and beat the piss out of him.
Bison wanting to find the perfect person to contain his power is literally his entire character. There are like six separate playable characters or more that existed to be backups for Bison, and one of them is Ed who is leading Neo Shadaloo.
>your friend dies >you pick a fight with JP >"Lol who cares your friend is still dead" >go talk to luke about it >"Damn that sucks, what can you do" >final quest of the game is talking to the youtuber guy who just tells you to take your bum ass online and play some real opponents
Ludo.
>Street Fighter V's story mode was an absolute shitshow that was pure cringe in all the wrong ways. Made even worse by how significant the story was supposed to be - Charlie coming back, the "end" of Shadaloo, the "end" of Bison, Ryu finally moving on from the Satsui no Hado, etc. >Street Fighter 6's huge, 20 hour single player mode that was immensely hyped up prior to release barely has any story at all as it centers around your original character. The "real" story is once again relegated to a few snippets in Arcade Mode >the entire intrigue surrounding Ken's new character direction and everyone speculating "OMG WHAT HAPPENED TO KEN?" wasn't even explained in the game. It was relegated to a shitty online comic that most people aren't even going to read
I really, REALLY do not understand why it seems to be so hard for Capcom to tell a decent story in the Street Fighter universe. It really can't be that hard. They have other story-driven games. Street Fighter itself has had movies and animes before. There are good stories to be told with these characters. What is there fricking problem?
When the frick has capcom ever been the go-to source for good story? I can't think of a single capcom IP that's story focused outside of RE. >Megaman >Monster Hunter >Street Fighter / Other fighting games
Outside of maybe Resident Evil and arguably Devil May Cry (only recently) most capcom games coast off of the gameplay alone and the story is just passable enough to give justification for whats happening.
This. Capcom makes characters and gameplay. The only times I've ever seen praise for a Capcom story are Breath of Fire IV, DMC3, and Dragon's Dogma. 95% of their output is rule of cool.
A nameless self-insert isn't allowed to take out the latest antagonist. You're just there to help set the stage so people besides Ken and Kimberly have a reason to look into Nayshall come season 2.

Cammy. She was the first person I ever beat story mode with when I was about 10 years old. I remember beating it with my best friend at his house and both of us seeing Cammy's mistranslated ending that featured her and Bison as former lovers. After we finished the game we wrote bad fanfiction together and his featured Cammy and Bison as a married couple with Bison coming home after a long day of work and her making dinner for him. I laughed really hard at the idea of domesticated Bison and he got really upset. Good times. >SFA
Ken. I really liked how flashy he was compared to Ryu and he was the obvious cool choice. I played Akuma too. >SF3
Chun-Li all the way. Idgaf if she's high tier and considered the most dishonest character in the game after Yun. This game gave her the red carpet treatment and when Chun-Li got back into the SFIII series with Third Strike it was an EVENT. Zoomers will never know the hype at the time because this game was low-key kind of a celebration of Chun-Li as a character. Her sprite animation was like playing a cartoon and still looks fantastic. >SF4
I continued the trajectory of playing Chun-Li from 3S and dabbled in Ken a little online. >SF5
I got 5 at launch and ended up returning it because I was so disappointed. I downloaded it on Steam years later after it was actually a complete game and continued my journey as a Chun-Li main. >SF6
I'm playing Chun right now but she's much more technical in this game compared to other entries, especially 3S so I'm cheating on my waifu with Manon, who is a ton of fun to play. Stacking throws just feels so satisfying. I'm actually really liking Luke as well. The one character who feels great to play in modern and classic.

Honestly, it feels like it... that or the matchmaking has somehow gotten worse. Takes forever to find matches now, and I often get the same opponents (I'm plat2 if that matters). Doesn't help that almost EVERYONE seems to be playing Avatar battles, which makes no sense to me. I dunno... I don't know the actual numbers, but it does already feel like the game is dropping off, which is a shame because I have serious doubts that characters like Rashid and Ed are going to bring people back
People are playing Avatar battles because of the Drive Ticket challenge.
eh, ive jumped around a lot with character archetypes in a different games. I play a lot of zoners. I feel like playing SF5 at launch with a strike grappler made the game even more swingy and guess oriented and was one of the reasons i didnt enjoy my time with it. Guile I can be nice and lame and patient. I can zone and learn the games fundamentals. Plus he is strong and I have a lot of experience with charge characters.
I don't know what it is but I SWEAR I am doing the inputs correctly and pressing buttons but the game doesn't register it. It's really starting to irritate me because I have lost some games because of it.
It happens to me even if I don't press forward before it though.
I don't know what it is but I SWEAR I am doing the inputs correctly and pressing buttons but the game doesn't register it. It's really starting to irritate me because I have lost some games because of it.
Called "buffering"
I hate it as I never had input issues.
In SFV and even more so in SF6 they added lenient buffering, but SF6 is crazy easy shit where moves come out without even trying.
I keep wasting all my SA because of some shit like that
Can I find basically any info I want (especially stuff related to Dee Jay) entirely through Youtube or will I have to actually wade through Twitter and/or Reddit at some point for niche shit
https://wiki.supercombo.gg/w/Street_Fighter_6/Dee_Jay
Maybe not small bits of tech, but fighting game wikis for active games are usually loaded with a lot of info. Also on Twitter there's usually a hashtag for specific character tech you can search for instead of randomly searching but I don't know the exact ones for SF6.
>buy sf6 on release because friends and family hype it up >get bored of the World Tour 5 minutes into it >play rank >get platinum >play custom lobbies with friends >they all quit

Some people actually winquit, it's usually because they're really gimmicky and know anybody decent will download them and win games 2&3 so they either scrub you out game 1 and leave or lose game 1 and leave to reserve points.
I do this sometimes, and thumbs up anyone who does it to me. Stop obsessing over the habits of random people online, you have thousands of people to play with at any time so go play someone else.
Um.... what? Man, if you're getting one-shot by the NPCs on the street, then you're either rushing through World Tour and are under-leveled, or you're absolute trash at the game.
The ones with the little arm icons for the sidequest? Yeah they're like 15 levels above where you're most likely to be when you unlock Nayshall, and those NPCs are generally harder than street fights of the same level too so you probably should grind a bit or do some more story stuff before fighting those.
Quadriga is great if you internalize the spacing; Light is unsafe but if you space it to have them block the toes they can't reach, and Heavy while slower is actually safe at all distances (it's DI food though so don't get predictable). Drive Rush s.MK is one I've seen recommended and in particular used by Big Bird to really strong effect given its really good range on top of DR and DR making it +2 on block (more if you do it as a DR meaty).
>buddy of mine hardstuck gold 1 for a total of like 8 hours >goes on a single winstreak (10 or 11) and climbs to gold 5 in the span of half an hour >getting bodied by low plat players now
Why did they do this?
I found gold to be very similar to silver in the sense that everyone loves jump-ins and DI'ng. AA and counter-DI and you will reach plat with ease. If that's not enough, learn your combos, your best plus frames, DR options how to alpha counter
>that everyone loves jump-ins and DI'ng
DI'ing yes but I've noticed a distinct lack of jump-ins. Some do, some don't. I guess I really need to learn how to DI to reach the next level. But I also need to learn how to just crouch in one spot and wait for them to come to me so I can properly anti-air. I don't know. It seems the second they get close to me, I don't know what to do. I block, I get punished, I try to crouch jab, I get punished, I read the throw and it doesn't register. Maybe I just need a little break.
The break can help you yes, but keep in mind that being too defensive in this game means death as your drive works as your block bar here. Don't mash much if you want to punish them as you might be getting baited, although this game doesn't offer too many ways to frametrap outside some moves and DR
I climbed through silver and I'm mid-gold now, feels about the same honestly. I think my win rate has gone down a bit, so people are obviously at least a little better, but I wouldn't say the skill gap is "insane". The main differences I'm seeing is less reliance on DI spam, slightly less jump spam, and actually blocking on wakeup sometimes (still like 50/50 on this, homies cannot stop fricking jabbing/jumping on wakeup).
Adaptation is important. Watch some replays of yourself and try to identify stuff you continue to autopilot or spam even when the opponent is playing around it.
Also like another anon said, if you're on the defensive a lot, you're doing it wrong. If you aren't doing shit in this game, you're losing, especially in lower ranks because defending in this game is pretty difficult. When you get comfortable mounting offensive pressure, you realize how clueless gold players still are in this regard. I'd generally say that gold players have learned how to be more responsible with their offensive tools, but their defense is still awful.
Totally agree with this. Getting to Plat is all about just running an offense because no one knows what to do defensively aside from mash OD reversal. Plat is when people actually start to block every now and then, and Diamond is when you start to actually play people who actually can play.
You can also check out some of the educational fighting game streamers out there. Might add a layer or two to your game that separates you from autopilots.

just keep playing and analyzing your play for mistakes and then work on those mistakes
Different anon here but what am I fricked if most of my inputs end up as another skill? Biggest example I need to activate all my neurons to not do sn empty spd as Lily instead of getting a wind charge. Also my dp-motions end up as supers in this game constantly. Never happened in SF4, 5 or GG's/KoF. Is it time to embrace modern?
>Stopped playing ranked in favor of casual >Actually get to play footsies and neutral instead of rote punishing DI spammers and gimmick players.
Man frick ranked.
I really wish capcom would take the ranked experience more seriously, like they do in csgo or valorant.
Maybe in the future they'll do something like an only league.
honestly, I agree with this
it's too easy to go on a win streak in the lower ranks and get promoted to a rank you actually aren't ready for and get stuck there forever being beat up
It's a mixed bag for me but this is why I think they need to take the ranked experience more seriously.
Like you should be forced to play the best of 3 or maybe even 5 set.
If anything, the win streak multiplier shouldn't be so hyperbolic. The thing putting people too far ahead of where they belong is mostly lucky win streaks, which is why there's such a bulge of players stuck in Platinum 1 where the streaks stop.
They should clamp down the streak gain, then expand the Rank thresholds to having nine stars to tickle the neurons of Iron-Gold players more often to make up for the relatively slower climb.
The deranking protection is an overall positive more than negative.
Just deal with the win streak luck issue, and that leaves anyone else up in Platinum and above having gotten there through fraudulence or being genuinely good, and they shouldn't be allowed back down. It's better to keep those players higher up to get their asses kicked instead of letting them smurf and shit on the genuine Silver players.
>which is why there's such a bulge of players stuck in Platinum 1 where the streaks stop.
This happens at the first rank of every rank aside from diamond due to win streaks. Just take a look at Silver 1 in particular, nearly 4x more people there than Bronze 5. People go on a lucky streak, get to the next tier, and then spin out there, unable to ever derank. No idea how short sighted they had to be to leave this win streak system in, and I imagine they'll tweak it moving forward (assuming they reset ranks for a new season or something). New players leave, they make the system a real ranking system and less of a "good boy, you farmed three shitters in a row and now you're silver forever!" system. One can hope.
That is perfectly fine, simply because all the people who should be in high bronze are in low silver, it works out fine.
As long as you are always matching with silver 1 and 2s not bronze 5s, it evens out
This is just how it was in SFV though, because people take a break from ranked when they reach these new tiers, unlike when they go up from say Super to Ultra.
If you climb out of a tier of rank, i.e. Bronze to Silver, usually there's also a noticeable disparity which is how those players got promoted. Anti-airing and not doing obvious jump-ins was basically all it takes to leave Bronze; but then when you start fighting people who also know that in your next tier you have to figure out what comes next, which I think is another part of rank aversion.
>do something stupid >opponent knows a 7 part punish combo >opponent does something stupid >Jab them 3 times or throw them
>opponent hits you with a 7 part punish combo >has garbage fundamentals because they spent all their time practicing that one combo
Thanks Max.
>Play against randos >Lose 100s of games without having any fun >Start Playing ranked against people on my skill level >Having the time of my life
Bros….I’m an MK Homo, but I’m having so much fun with this game
>14 win streak >no bonus in platinum
on that note, platinum is easier than sfv silver
yes, the ranks are very inflated, nothing below master should matter and you know this if you actually played sfv
>nothing below master should matter
WTF does that even mean?
Like you are not playing the game unless you are in masters.
WHat you might not have realised is it is even HARDER to climb in SF6
Firstly Gold will be the new silver, simply because you never get knocked down a league until plat, so eventually everyone will reach gold.
Secondly because each individual character has ranks, all it takes is a master to just change to another char and yyou can be in hgold, or plat fighting masters...loosing and gdettingt kicked down.
You may not noticed but the most difficult levels in SGV was bronze to gold, simply because these levels were massively full of cheaters, bots TAS, smurfs and general shitters like jumping kens and ryus.
It was fricking cancer.
It wasnt until high gold you could start having a "real" match, but that is when the game got sweaty.
Personally in SF6 I want to stay around gold as I dont want to have to try hard to win, but when a char comes out who I know will be my main I will use him to tray hard and try reach masters, with just that 1 char.
I normally only play fighting games when I am drunk mainly local too but I would like 1 char to main so I can actually compete.
too much text
goldies in sf6 play like rookies/bronze in sfv
it's just that the set of skills of the average player in platinum is BELOW the set of skills of a silver player in sfv
at least in sfv silver people knew how to antiair, how to tech throw, they knew their bnbs, sure their decisions were lacking but damn >It wasnt until high gold you could start having a "real" match, but that is when the game got sweaty.
that's right and that's when sfv got fun
This is what I said, gold is the new silver in SF6 because you dont get knocked down it is a constant vertical climb.
My issue with SFV was that because I only had 1 main, I could only play with one char in ranked or I would be at a disadvantage and when I was drunk i would just loose all my gains and have to rinse repeat. I got kind of stuck in high gold and by the end of SFv I was in low silver.
Now with SF6 I can find a main, climb and when I get drunk I can switch so I dont loose my ranks and end up back in the shitter leagues.
I am for real when I say bronze to high silver in SFV is the worse.
I purposely have to not rank with PC players or it is just input reading TAS bots galore.
No gold is silver, silver is bronze, bronze is rookie and rookie and iron are just there for padding, everyone will get out of them even if they loose every match.
Which of course makes plat gold.
Plat and gold will be where most of the players will be and eventually the diamond ranks will be distributed with the middle level players and its not that difficult to get to masters from there but it will be a slow climb while the middle level players compete.
Because I like to drink alcohol, being drunk is fun, but also I have played fighting games with my bros since I was a teen and we used to get stoned and drunk and play winner stays on, I keep that spirit, though Only 1 friend plays with me IRL now.
Fighting games are about the only games I can actually play while I am drunk.
I didn't think I'd like them, but I tried out the modern controls when the game released and have been having a lot of fun. The fact that it's made sweeps less intuitive to do without thinking (mapping it to down / forward heavy, instead of just crouch heavy kick) has actually improved my game immensely from Street Fighter 5. Unbinding might not be the answer, but genuinely try playing a few games without sweeping at all and see how you go.
I'm too scared to sweep with how easily sweep get punished in sfv (but it is a bit better in sf6) but I have to get into habit of using it again to make my spacing less predictable
Run replays and lab it I guess. Watch replays of shit you got blown up by and try to find answers to it. I'll give out these: >cHP is plus on block >spinning backfist (heavy) is plus on block >a well-spaced divekick or spiral arrow is 0 and safe on block >cammy can chain cLP into each other, creating a true blockstring even though they're minus on block, do not hit buttons when she's doing this
Idk what rank you are but no Cammy below plat knows how to actually frame trap, they're just hitting buttons. If she feels hard to punish, it's likely just because she's spacing herself well, because her frame data isn't as strong as previous games and she only has a couple frame traps.
I'm Plat 1-5 on a couple of characters but the Cammy I played against was in a Battle Hub so I don't know what they were. Genuinely felt like I was in an infinite in burnout with spinning backfist and yeah the cr. LP
Yeah those are legit strings then, they're among her best tools for pressure esp when they add DR cancels into the mix and force you to block for like 8 straight seconds. You can try to check her backfist if she's spamming it (not easy, esp if your char has stubby normals), but otherwise, you just gotta let her take her turn.
*frame traps you*
*combos into itself*
*easy to confirm*
it's like an arcsys normal, it's your blockstring and your combo at the same time
cammy could win with just this
FRICK THE SHITTY PS4 CONTROLLER AND ITS CHEAP ASS USB PORT
OH YOU MOVED THE CONTROLLER SLIGHTLY DURING A COMBO? SORRY BUD TIME TO DISCONNECT FOR 5 SECONDS
game looks exactly as scrubby as i expected it to on high lvl. still just a drive rush fest with these lukes and kens. raw drive impact also hitting really really often
Question: I get how to do combos for the most part, but how do you know when you can do them? You have to do everything so fast that I don't know how you're supposed to judge whether or not you're going to land the initial attack.
For example, Ryu's windmill kick combos into OD tatsu, but if they block the first attack I'd leave myself wide open and waste the drive stocks.
Its called hit confirm, so you confim the hit then react when you have hit.
Say that ryu combo you mention, so it is forward HK st.fHK
So in the animation of the kick you do a quarter circle back, but dont press kick, so if you dont press a second kick the tatsu wont come out, but because you have done the quarter circle back if it DOES hit, you press kick or 2 kicks because you "confirmed" that the hit connected and reacted with the combo.
This doing the qcb in the animation is called buffering, when you are pre-emptively setting up the next.
I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON I HATE MANON
Like always, most combo trials in every fighting game are unviable junk just to give each character enough to pad out the list, and they're probably not even as good as what players find a few days in.
The Character Guides are great, though.
It really depends on character, but usually they're sub-optimal fluff. Marisa's are an exception for the most part, and I'm sure a couple other characters have trials that are worth using in a match aa wwll.
ive lost so many matches because my super reversal wouldnt come out? Is the time just really fricking strict? Its crazy how easily it comes out in combos, but when i try to do it on reversal I just eat shit.
I have the same problem, no clue what the window is but I just eat shit on wakeup all the time because my fricking reversal don't come out.
I was having issues with this until recently. The reversal window in this game feels extremely late. You basically have to complete the input as your character is standing up from the floor. In addition to this, if the opponent does a Drive Rush on your wakeup, the screen freeze is going to delay your reversal window even further, and it can feel really weird to get a reversal out.
>if the opponent does a Drive Rush on your wakeup, the screen freeze is going to delay your reversal window even further
Yeah this fricks me up so hard, I don't even try to reversal when I'm playing a guy who DRs on knockdown for oki (so most people at my rank) because I know I'll frick it up and eat a fat combo.
post your shit homosexual. I have diamond lily too, and you will tell me thats fraudulent too, as if she isnt the worst character in the game. Keep making excuses bronze kun.

I have no idea what is even on the pass, the monetization in this game is basically invisible. They didn't even lock alt costumes behind it, at least not yet.
If you do then you're also getting the next premium pass for $5 cause you get all your fighter coins back. Up to you if worthless battlehub shit matters to you though
>nothing but trash >still feel like giving them 5 buxs
first game I play with a battle pass and it's insane how these things are programmed to israelite you out of your money
Buy it, it gives you back the money so you can use it indefinitely for all future battlepass and you know they gonna put ccoomer shot in thek or at least cooll outfits and shit
Is the game worth 105 + tax? Or should I wait for a sale down the line. I haven’t played a SF since 4, and am awful at fighting games but I’m interested in finally trying to get good at one.
Cant have same input whether its kicks or punches, i imagine this is some holdover from modern controls. its really lame, I cant have ryus full load out.

I didn’t realize until reading about the game years later that she is just about the worst option for a beginner. Should I just stick to Ryu/Ken in 6 until I figure shit out? My preference is to play rushdown.
Ryu says in world tour that he knows Ken is going through some shit, but he doesnt want to intrude on his problems unless he asks for help. Which seems to be a theme because Guile says the same shit essentially about his brother in law. Ken doesnt want help.
and you think walking up and forcing someone like that who doesnt want help is going to take it? Its just disrespectful to them. You cant help people that dont want it.

For a random person? No. From a life long friend? Yes. Someone that has your back until the bitter end is rare and you don't reject them when they tell you to shut the frick up and sit down because they are helping. But Ryu has too much autism for that kind of interaction.
I feel like Zangief's lariat works as an anti-air only about 60% of the time. Feels like sometimes people can just jump straight through it and attack you.
are there any "generic" combos that work across most characters, it seems like crouching mk can almost always be cancelled into a quarter circle move no matter who you play, stuff like that
also can you choose random but filter out characters so you can pick random but exclude characters you dont like?
>Generic combos
All characters have several normals that cancel into any special, and most specials cancel into any super.
Some characters can cancel way more than others, like Ryu can cancel almost all of his normals into a special and most will combo.
Meanwhile, DeeJay's cancelable moves are extremely few, he needs rely on punish counters and using plus frames to link to lights that can cancel into specials.
You could jab jab jab special super on almost everyone.
I've noticed that recently people have been getting banned for saying SEABlack person in threads where people get away with saying "Black person" normally. I can see why.
The main scenario writer for World Tour is the Breath of Fire creator so it makes sense a shame World Tour's story isn't even half as good as the worst BoF
Didn't know that, makes a lot more sense why there's so many and Fou-Lou is one of the strongest NPCs in the entire game. Also minimizes the chances that it was a tease for anything new but I've never touched BoF so it doesn't really hurt me.
The main scenario writer for World Tour is the Breath of Fire creator so it makes sense a shame World Tour's story isn't even half as good as the worst BoF
I'm pretty happy that this just means Capcom hasn't totally forgotten about the IP yet. I don't expect any new games or anything but hell, maybe something like a collection would be cool.
>like running more than 2 round sets to lower rematching? >woops, your opponent picked kimberley! her level 3 gets buffed the more rounds there are in a set >even if she doesn't hit it! >even if she loses a round! >xd!
Still moronic a character gets a damage and speed buff for spending 3 meters for the entire set when they can still lose a round, miss the super and it scales with how many rounds are in the set
unless the rounds are exceptionally slow kim isn't going to get her buff until halfway through the second round, meanwhile manon can get 3 or 4 medals round one if she guesses correctly enough
>pick intermediate >win all placements against golds >win 2/4 against platinum including 1 rq >rq gets counted as a loss even though it said win before >get put in silver 3
I got to gold in 15 minutes but I'm still pissed.
DLC, always have. The Battle Pass in SF6 is a very new thing for the genre and I think most people would cry afoul if they had to grind for their Chun/Juri/Cammy coomer alts.
You'd think 90% all Hondas online are Modern given their reliance on specials in neutral. He has a lot of cool shit in 6 but because of +0 headbutt and a reversal that you have to block on his way down almost nobody does any of it.
There's some office wear you get as you progress. Early game you have to settle for dress pants and a button up + tie. I've seen accurate cosplays of King from KOF so it gets more open later.
Same here, the matchmaking system is shitting the bed today, it seems. I guess it's time to work on my fem Hakan for those avatar BH battles.
Why is this game so fricking addicting despite me being so shit?
Has a bunch of shit to do other than just grinding for Ranked, which was my biggest complaints about SFV and fighting games in general. Bonus points for the synergy between modes and mechanics. For example, WT by itself is super mediocre, but it gains a whole new meaning if you go on Battle Hub.
From what I've played with my friends I think they're pretty fun. My big gripe with it is that I wish everyone had the same health and did normal damage. Levels+Gear imo should be irrelevant online.
You get access to more shops and the shops increase their stock as you progress world tour, but also probably half or more of the gear is drops from random street battles.
>Hit up a cab in the Hub >Go 5-6 against a problem matchup >Get off the cab >get a "ggs some of the best games I've had your Marisa is godlike" in the chat
Maybe Ranked is a waste of time.
Yeah. I'm against Custom Combo as a mechanic so I'm not using it, and I realized that the two characters I beat as one character were still beaten when I tried the next, so I was deeper than I thought. I'm on Bison now and I've probably used 7 or 8 dollars in quarters.
Games back then were made to be almost impossible because they wanted to drain your quarters.
I forget which game, I think it was one of the Streets of Rage sequels, that literally had unlockable weapons that you had to pay for in quarters.
Probably both. A2's neutral is lots of poking until someone goes for a confirm into CC

There's a cop you have to talk to on one of the ramps. Then he's is gonna tell you to talk to another cop during the day
I think Zangief is alright but I don't know what his main way of dealing with projectiles is. In 4 it was Green Hand, in 5 it was headbutt, in 6 you have to use meter just for regular projectiles?
Lariat goes through projectiles. I haven't played Gief much yet, but it didn't seem like it had good range.
eh, I wouldn't say lariat fills in the function of a green hand/headbutt. I'm talking more about a go-to move when you're slowly inching forward, there's a reason people use green hand instead of lariat for that. It's also much more punishable than those two and also doesn't lead to combo even if it lands.
I skipped SFV, I'll skip SFVI. They really are too ugly. I was hyped for SFIV because of the overall revival of the fighting game genre, but man do I regret Capcom artistic choices.
Lily is legit just the anti scrub character >High as frick damage off of just normal pokes, and what combos she does have only does slightly more then HP > HP > HP and is more about screen carry as a result
Her only issues is her anti-air options are super limited and that her best buttons get stuffed by DI if read (Though pretty sure if you cHP you can cancel into DI yourself).
Advice for a Chun who keeps getting mixed by Kim and Jamie players? I'm finally learning how to be decent with pokes and not get overly aggressive but they always seem to find a way to knock me around a bunch.
How do I get the jiangshi outfit I want to make bootleg lei lei
Waterfront area near Honda
Thanks brother
play dhalsim
No.
BLOODY b***h BASTARD
I feel like his teleport bullshit isn't that bad in this game since you can just hold parry
>everyone says Dhalsim is one of the hardest characters to learn and use properly
>I actually find him easier to use than most of the cast
anyone else like this?
is it because he's more of a thinking man's slow and methodical character?
He's not execution-heavy outside of remembering to hold back for his shorter faster buttons. He's all spacing, conditioning, and being able to anti-air consistently (and he's got the most anti-airs in the whole cast so if you know what to use for what spacing it's easy).
I will just so I can learn how to counter him
Go poo in a loo, shitter
JP loses to dhalsim
Went from silver 1 star to gold 3 star in a few hours as Sim. But now I'm stuck at gold 3 because I just can't deal with most of the casts pressure in this game, every character just has so much bullshit that Sim can't deal with. Sim is bottom tier.
That's how I feel playing Gief.
I think Zangief is alright but I don't know what his main way of dealing with projectiles is. In 4 it was Green Hand, in 5 it was headbutt, in 6 you have to use meter just for regular projectiles?
The top 1 in ranked is a Sim player, why don't you lab your character instead of b***hing?
Battle Hub is forced soul.
i prefer battle hub for the long sets going 10+ rounds with someone give you a chance to learn and adapt
>do my placements with Ryu
>beat Silver, Gold easily, beat a plat Blanka
>last match is on a Plat 5 Marisa
>take a match off her
>get placed in Diamond 1
>proceed to lose the next two matches and get deranked back to Plat 5
Really didn't expect that considering I placed Gold in the 3 other characters I played before getting them to Plat. Seems like cheating to just get instantly placed there let alone Diamond
Dont care gay
I do

Watching the tekken thing atm
How viable is Chun?
She is good, but only for advanced players
>Has worse buttons then Cammy
>Has to work just as hard for her damage
>"But bro wall hop and jumping on people's head"
just keep your silver opinions to yourself please. Chun has one of the best buttons even over cammy. Can deliver nonstop pressure with drive rush and her anti air conversions do about 40%. She crushes a large portion of the cast and is even with the top tiers. Cammy is slight advantage over most of cast and obviously even with chun and juri
Every character is good enough to where scrubs b***h about them evenly
she's fine except her barrier for entry is much higher than characters like Cammy or Juri
If you have to ask, you probably aren't ready
Chun is the easily one the most powerful characters in the game. Daigo rates her higher than Guile and I agree, she's the best fireball (zoner?) after DJ.
Like amazing buttons, good anti air that doesn't require charge, good fireball, amazing conversions and by far the best whiff punish in the game. Easily top tier
Chun has anti air?

Plus you can dash under crossups, walk jab or just jump HK/airthrow whatever
>by far the best whiff punish in the game
Which one?
Which one would you like?
Just any decent one. I just grab them or jab like a moron.
She's good, easily high tier. But there's no reason to play her unless you just happen to personally like her. She's a lot of work to play to not really get any real advantages over playing an easier top tier, she's not even weird enough to exploit match up check knowledges. I guess she might have a solid Guile match up?
I just hit Gold with Manon, my first character I've taken into ranked, and I'm feeling happy 🙂
Thanks Looneytroon
Artificial meme.
Holy shit, is this how the Metajini Ellie copypasta poster on /vg/ was in the beginning?
not playing this game because it has degenrate troony shit
The frick do you even do at Battle Hub?
Fight people, meet people, bully people off cabs, get bullied off cabs, it's pretty fun
I see a majority of people actually playing avatar battles but I like to que for ranked in it and if I get too frustrated just play casual matches in the Hub or an old Capcom game
You sit down at a cabinet and play vs like an arcade.
you get to make fortnite dances on top of the arcade cabinets and make everybody wonder how do you even got there.
I’m not really Master material anyway.
jamie is so bad...
Jamie is fun as frick
>check fighter profile info of players who robbed me in bronze
>they're still bronze
Nice knowing I was right that they were garbage and got lucky.
I have not touched the hub or world tour and I never plan to.
Hardstuck plat 3 after a 6 hour session but I don't feel bad about it. Fun game.
>haven't won one fight in casual
>haven't won one fight with avatar and cabinet
Should I try ranked?
Sure, what's the worst thing that could happen? You lose?
Now I'm curious what rank will I be if I lose the first 10 fights.
Juri
Maybe try a charge character. Charging gets you in the habit of blocking and maybe less mashing as you wake up.
I actually have trouble playing a charge character like Chun-Li. It just feels weird after playing shotos for so long.
who do you play
Why is this thread so slow? Is there another SF thread I don't know about?
there's like 3 other ones
>get Chun to gold
>can't do a fricking Chun combo to save my life aside from crouching medium kick into lightning legs
it's kind of depressing. I like the way Chun plays in theory, but the execution is pretty tough
Cazy raccoon cup will be happening today btw.
I hope korone gets raped
In Street Fighter... right?
Yeah, by me
yeah and i watch
I saw the dog girl play during scrims, she's pretty good at landing the fireball rhythm loop
It's starting soon.
>Paywalled the main stream
Damn it.
Reached Diamond yesterday.
Literally dont feel like playing anymore, whats the point, I dont particularly feel like getting even better, Ill never go to tourneys and from Diamond and onwards it gets too sweaty, I will have to lab shit constantly.
What now
Get a different character to Diamond
Then the rest of them
Then get Random to Master
Yeah I guess trying a new character is my best option, dont know who though, nobody really clicking for me, I hope Aki is fun
I hope so, that would be nice, seasonal ranking
grind another character
pick a new character, purposely lose every placement match so you're put as low rank as possible, then beat up people at that rank
bonus points for purposely losing points so you don't promote out of it
I wonder if Capcom is gonna be like other multiplayer games and reset the rank every season
They have that dumbass battlepass feature, so they might reset ranks every time the battlepass updates or maybe once every other battlepass. "Seasons" and rank resets are important for player retention so I'd bet money that's what they'll do.
Kick back at the battle hub and just have fun at your skill level.
i am fighting for my life in gold 5 my homies
>Figure out what a silver Ryu is doing after losing to him once.
>Trounce him the next round.
>He instantly leaves after I win.
What a b***h.
>winstreak from gold 1 to gold 2
>halfway to gold 3, one more win will rank me up
>lose the winstreak
>trade wins and losses for an hour and end the same place i started
I want to die.
Losing winstreak bonuses sure is painful. But youll get to platinum soon and then winstreak bonuses are gone anyways.
I'm always confused by this rank system because in most MP games I've played you would start at 5 and try to make your way to 1.
That confused me at first too. I haven't played SF before so I dunno if this is how 5's ranking system worked, but it's ass backwards to me.
Just started getting into this but I'm getting my ass handed to me every time I do matchmaking. Is there any ogga booga strat that will get me a couple easy wins like Paul in tekken so I can savage some serotonin to keep going at it? Preferably with Juri or Guile
honda, spam head butt and butt stomp
>Guile
I literally got placed high gold after my placement matches by doing nothing else than booms and flashkicks holding downback
with throw light fireballs to get them to jump then do flash kick/ up kicks.
mash max range sweep, if they block it and try to punish do ex reversal
What's your worst matchups? Mine are JP and Deejay as jamie, playing cat and mouse sucks and those fricks wont let me drink
Marisa as Ryu
Funnily enough JP is my easiest.
world tour is a chore. the story straight up boring crap.
i enjoyed world tour, but the story was absolute horseshit. seriously what kind of ending is this?
>JP: this was meaningless, go play vs real people
>When you start learning under him he talks about Bison wanting to find the perfect person to contain his power.
Is this going to end with Bison coming back?
Maybe. Hopefully in doll form.
is street fighter really street fighter without bison? he's gotta come back eventually.
Bison wanting to find the perfect person to contain his power is literally his entire character. There are like six separate playable characters or more that existed to be backups for Bison, and one of them is Ed who is leading Neo Shadaloo.
I hope not. I'm tired of Bison and raising is a chance to bring other characters back.
It was kino and intended to be a cliffhanger since the DLC chars will appear in World Tour and continue the story
>your friend dies
>you pick a fight with JP
>"Lol who cares your friend is still dead"
>go talk to luke about it
>"Damn that sucks, what can you do"
>final quest of the game is talking to the youtuber guy who just tells you to take your bum ass online and play some real opponents
Ludo.
>but the story was absolute horseshit
What story? Capcom decided it was a good idea to make a 20 hour story mode that had absolutely no story
Wht are you talking about the moral of the story is.
Suiciding bombing is true strength.
The "real" story is once again relegated to a few snippets in Arcade Mode
>the entire intrigue surrounding Ken's new character direction and everyone speculating "OMG WHAT HAPPENED TO KEN?" wasn't even explained in the game.
I honestly don't think SF gets the budget of Monster Hunter or Resident Evil. We know SFV only happened because Sony bank rolled it as an exclusive
When the frick has capcom ever been the go-to source for good story? I can't think of a single capcom IP that's story focused outside of RE.
>Megaman
>Monster Hunter
>Street Fighter / Other fighting games
Outside of maybe Resident Evil and arguably Devil May Cry (only recently) most capcom games coast off of the gameplay alone and the story is just passable enough to give justification for whats happening.
This. Capcom makes characters and gameplay. The only times I've ever seen praise for a Capcom story are Breath of Fire IV, DMC3, and Dragon's Dogma. 95% of their output is rule of cool.
Haunting Ground was p good too
>Devil May Cry (only recently)
Nah, DMC5 story is poop. 3 was the only one that had a good plot.
A nameless self-insert isn't allowed to take out the latest antagonist. You're just there to help set the stage so people besides Ken and Kimberly have a reason to look into Nayshall come season 2.
Is he even the big bad? He doesn't seem like it. Think someone is going to come along to upstage him.
Didn't they do that in 5 with G?
Necalli was also teased last game before release with the end of Story Mode teasing Gill.
This game has shadaloo mentioned towards the end of WT and in the last pages of the prequel comic with NWO also teased in tidbits of Metro City.
I actually have some fun with it. It's like an easy beat'em up. Still unlocking all the costumes though.
Did Bosch actually die?
yes, he'll come back as zombie a-la nash as DLC
I was enjoying it until I got to around Level 40. It's kind of a drag after that.
id like world tour more if your guy was more active in the story. i really like watching the expressions on my guy but come on.
I'm not going to have to grind world tour mode again when the next iteration of this game comes out, right
pretty sure WT is the main reason why casuals are still playing
i have been rage quit on more times in sf6 in a single month than any other fighting game ive played
>beat someone
>hit rematch
>they wait until the last second to rematch
they're either just grabbing a sip or seething super hard
Don't let it deter you, it just means you're outplaying them so hard they don't want to confront it.
I haven't had many rage quits. Just Kens and some people that refuse rematches, but a lot of Kens.
I would rather grind to level up my avatar to 99 and reach level 20 for all masters than play ranked

I'm playing Chun right now but she's much more technical in this game compared to other entries, especially 3S so I'm cheating on my waifu with Manon, who is a ton of fun to play. eh, ive jumped around a lot with character archetypes in a different games. I play a lot of zoners. I don't know what it is but I SWEAR I am doing the inputs correctly and pressing buttons but the game doesn't register it. It's really starting to irritate me because I have lost some games because of it.
There is a setting in controls that helped me after I turned it on. Forgot what it was called though. It was in the controls part.
I've had similar issues but with the game deciding "Ah, that quarter circle input? Yeah clearly you meant for a DP."
That happens if you had pressed forward briefly before doing the QCF. Makes it less physically painful to input.
It happens to me even if I don't press forward before it though.
Called "buffering"
I hate it as I never had input issues.
In SFV and even more so in SF6 they added lenient buffering, but SF6 is crazy easy shit where moves come out without even trying.
I keep wasting all my SA because of some shit like that
they made it necessary because some combo trials are next to impossible to do without buffering
is there a way to have the dummy wake up reversal on the first knockdown, the wake up block on the 2nd?
I think you can set recordings to play on wakeup, see if there's an option to cycle recordings.
oh right, thanks
Can I find basically any info I want (especially stuff related to Dee Jay) entirely through Youtube or will I have to actually wade through Twitter and/or Reddit at some point for niche shit

Maybe not small bits of tech, but fighting game wikis for active games are usually loaded with a lot of info. Also on Twitter there's usually a hashtag for specific character tech you can search for instead of randomly searching but I don't know the exact ones for SF6.
>buy sf6 on release because friends and family hype it up
>get bored of the World Tour 5 minutes into it
>play rank
>get platinum
>play custom lobbies with friends
>they all quit
Cool, I wasted my $60
Is this game dead already?
yes and Chun Li let herself go already
Chunners is a staple but if replacing her with Li-Fen in SF7 is what it takes for this to become canon I'll allow it.
I dunno... I don't know the actual numbers, but it does already feel like the game is dropping off, which is a shame because I have serious doubts that characters like Rashid and Ed are going to bring people back
>Doesn't help that almost EVERYONE seems to be playing Avatar battles
they're fun
WHAT IS IT WITH PEOPLE WIN/LOSE-QUITTING?! PLAY THE FRICKING GAME, COWARD!!!
what the frick is a win/lose quitting
They win one and leave or lose one and leave.
If they win they replay but quit if they lose. I've only played 1 person doing that while playing ranked
Some people actually winquit, it's usually because they're really gimmicky and know anybody decent will download them and win games 2&3 so they either scrub you out game 1 and leave or lose game 1 and leave to reserve points.
blame the game not the player
I do this sometimes, and thumbs up anyone who does it to me. Stop obsessing over the habits of random people online, you have thousands of people to play with at any time so go play someone else.
I do this if the opponent is using modern controls but thankfully almost everyone in ranked seems to use classic
Why are modern players terrified of rematching?
>reach Nayshall
>every single pajeet starts doing the needful and oneshotting me
wew capcom really wants you to grind don't they
Um.... what? Man, if you're getting one-shot by the NPCs on the street, then you're either rushing through World Tour and are under-leveled, or you're absolute trash at the game.
Gold fighters or whatever. Just got beaten up by a brony fighting OC
The ones with the little arm icons for the sidequest? Yeah they're like 15 levels above where you're most likely to be when you unlock Nayshall, and those NPCs are generally harder than street fights of the same level too so you probably should grind a bit or do some more story stuff before fighting those.
Yeah those guys

Marisasisters, please tell me our best approach option isn't Superman punch.
Quadriga is great if you internalize the spacing; Light is unsafe but if you space it to have them block the toes they can't reach, and Heavy while slower is actually safe at all distances (it's DI food though so don't get predictable). Drive Rush s.MK is one I've seen recommended and in particular used by Big Bird to really strong effect given its really good range on top of DR and DR making it +2 on block (more if you do it as a DR meaty).
>buddy of mine hardstuck gold 1 for a total of like 8 hours

Why did they do this?
timezone and/or people waking up most likely
The gap in playstyle between Silver and Gold is insane. I honestly don't know how to get past Gold 1.
Punish people, don't get punished
I could simply be salty and can't really focus. I keep trying to brute force my strategy even after it's been beaten I've noticed.
Gimme some good Marisa combos.

just keep playing and analyzing your play for mistakes and then work on those mistakes
Happens to me too. I don't get it. Somehow my qcb's become dp's too.

Punk played a bit too well today so I'm betting on Cammy not only because of him, but because she's very good and can make any Ken player suffer
Too hard to say when there's so many wildcards. Like Mena can take any tournament he's in and he does have a pocket Blanka with Cammy's name on it.
>Stopped playing ranked in favor of casual

Man frick ranked.
ranked is weird because people will just tryhard and do the move that carried them up to that point just to level up easily
Holy frick Magic Sword is cool.
I really wish capcom would take the ranked experience more seriously, like they do in csgo or valorant.
Maybe in the future they'll do something like an only league.
They need to remove derank protection
honestly, I agree with this
it's too easy to go on a win streak in the lower ranks and get promoted to a rank you actually aren't ready for and get stuck there forever being beat up
It's a mixed bag for me but this is why I think they need to take the ranked experience more seriously.
Like you should be forced to play the best of 3 or maybe even 5 set.
This would be perfect, actually. Rounds are too fast and adapting here can take more than 2 or 3 matches.
Imagine if ranked was something where you played ft 3/5 and then if you can win 3/5 sets you either get ranked up or forced to stay at current rank.
Anti-airing and not doing obvious jump-ins was basically all it takes to leave Bronze; but then when you start fighting people who also know that in your next tier you have to figure out what comes next, which I think is another part of rank aversion.
>opponent hits you with a 7 part punish combo
>has garbage fundamentals because they spent all their time practicing that one combo
Thanks Max.
Streaks should be the the derank protection.
Prolly should do rank resets from time to time too.
Ranks are getting reset when Rashid comes out
why does it feel like I do no damage and take so much in world tour even though im a similar level to enemy? am I missing something?

on that note, platinum is easier than sfv silver
yes, the ranks are very inflated, nothing below master should matter and you know this if you actually played sfv
very sad indeed
below master should matter
you're in plat 1 my dude. I doubt you can even reach diamond
considering i reached super plat in sfv, plat is looking pretty free in sf6
i'll get back to you when i reach diamond
k keep me posted
might take a while, i've only managed to clock 16 hours in like 2-3 weeks because of the other games i'm playing
>nothing below master should matter
I normally only play fighting games when I am drunk mainly local too but I would like 1 char to main so I can actually compete.
too much text
goldies in sf6 play like rookies/bronze in sfv
it's just that the set of skills of the average player in platinum is BELOW the set of skills of a silver player in sfv
at least in sfv silver people knew how to antiair, how to tech throw, they knew their bnbs, sure their decisions were lacking but damn
>It wasnt until high gold you could start having a "real" match, but that is when the game got sweaty.
that's right and that's when sfv got fun
I purposely have to not rank with PC players or it is just input reading TAS bots galore.
gold is bronze
No gold is silver, silver is bronze, bronze is rookie and rookie and iron are just there for padding, everyone will get out of them even if they loose every match.
Which of course makes plat gold.
Plat and gold will be where most of the players will be and eventually the diamond ranks will be distributed with the middle level players and its not that difficult to get to masters from there but it will be a slow climb while the middle level players compete.
why do you keep getting drunk
Because I like to drink alcohol, being drunk is fun, but also I have played fighting games with my bros since I was a teen and we used to get stoned and drunk and play winner stays on, I keep that spirit, though Only 1 friend plays with me IRL now.
Fighting games are about the only games I can actually play while I am drunk.
>plat 1
Shut the frick up scrub
>do something stupid

Literally me
Im playing Kimberly and I have no idea how you're ever supposed to land aerial grabs with the input being so awkward
Genuinely considering unbinding the heavy kick button because my moronic ass can't stop fricking sweeping at inappropriate times
Am I just not allowed to press buttons when Cammy is doing blockstrings or what
Cammy's pressure is fake as hell for the most part (she has a few plus normals and frame traps though), check her with jabs.
I tried and got counter hit
Run replays and lab it I guess. Watch replays of shit you got blown up by and try to find answers to it. I'll give out these:
>cHP is plus on block
>spinning backfist (heavy) is plus on block
>a well-spaced divekick or spiral arrow is 0 and safe on block
>cammy can chain cLP into each other, creating a true blockstring even though they're minus on block, do not hit buttons when she's doing this
Idk what rank you are but no Cammy below plat knows how to actually frame trap, they're just hitting buttons.
You can try to check her backfist if she's spamming it (not easy, esp if your char has stubby normals), but otherwise, you just gotta let her take her turn.
>her frame data isn't as strong as previous games and she only has a couple frame traps.
>then posts how she has ton of free pressure
that should tell you how strong cammy was in previous games
>one plus normal, one plus special, and two true frame traps
Don't look up SF5 Cammy's frame data yo
*frame traps you*
*combos into itself*
*easy to confirm*
it's like an arcsys normal, it's your blockstring and your combo at the same time
cammy could win with just this
FRICK THE SHITTY PS4 CONTROLLER AND ITS CHEAP ASS USB PORT

This looks staged as frick.
Can't spell fluke without luke
Thanks. I'll play around with that and see if I get react that way.

Seriously if she gets like 3 medals round 1 its pretty much fricking over.
Nevermind having to go to round 3 against her, its a lost cause.
Does this game not allow audio mods like sound effects or music? I only really see some skin recolors and coomer stuff.
matchmaking is godawful.

Small victory considering the state of ranked but I broke 15k LP and feel good about it
is it me or combo trials are a terrible tutorial if you want to start playing a new character?
I like them. They show which moves link into which right from the start.
depends on the character
they should have combined combo trial and character guides, too
Like always, most combo trials in every fighting game are unviable junk just to give each character enough to pad out the list, and they're probably not even as good as what players find a few days in.

Do I give Capcom 5 dollars?
I have no idea what is even on the pass, the monetization in this game is basically invisible. They didn't even lock alt costumes behind it, at least not yet.
If you do then you're also getting the next premium pass for $5 cause you get all your fighter coins back. Up to you if worthless battlehub shit matters to you though
>nothing but trash
>still feel like giving them 5 buxs
first game I play with a battle pass and it's insane how these things are programmed to israelite you out of your money
you already bought the game, why spend more money?
Do you honestly give a frick about the avatar items?
Buy it, it gives you back the money so you can use it indefinitely for all future battlepass and you know they gonna put ccoomer shot in thek or at least cooll outfits and shit

You get a ranking exclusively for Random. Doesn't effect your rank on other characters whatsoever
My wife Manon is the strongest character
Is the game worth 105 + tax? Or should I wait for a sale down the line. I haven’t played a SF since 4, and am awful at fighting games but I’m interested in finally trying to get good at one.
Just get it off a keysite anon. You can get the base game for 40 iirc.
Which will come first
Swimsuits or school outffits
Why can't I use Cammy's Hooligan Combination and Spiral Arrow in World Tour together? The game is pretending they have the same input.
The game considers qcf+p and qfc+k the same motion because modern
WT specials are restricted by Modern control rules, which can't tell the difference between punches and kicks.
Cant have same input whether its kicks or punches, i imagine this is some holdover from modern controls. its really lame, I cant have ryus full load out.
>mfw I keep getting wrong inputs

I don't get this about everyone crying about wrong inputs, post me an example or stop coping if you can't do a shoryuken
>buy SF4 on launch day
>pick Viper because she cool looking
>get absolutely bodied
>give up after a week and never play a fighting game again
I didn’t realize until reading about the game years later that she is just about the worst option for a beginner. Should I just stick to Ryu/Ken in 6 until I figure shit out? My preference is to play rushdown.
You'll still lose plenty before you start winning. You're older and slower now.
Ken is a good option for rushdown though.
Play JP and reach masters, who cares about playstyles
Ryu will help you understand how SF in general functions, but if you want to rushdown then you should probably go with Cammy, Juri or Ken.
>ken gets into some deep shit
>ryu doesnt care and just relaxes in a temple
Ryu knows that he can't help Ken with his current problem. He's going to have to sort that shit out himself.
Ryu says in world tour that he knows Ken is going through some shit, but he doesnt want to intrude on his problems unless he asks for help. Which seems to be a theme because Guile says the same shit essentially about his brother in law. Ken doesnt want help.
That's pretty dumb though. Ken is hot blooded with a huge ego and isn't going to ask for help. Ryu would know this after 2-3 decades.
and you think walking up and forcing someone like that who doesnt want help is going to take it? Its just disrespectful to them. You cant help people that dont want it.
For a random person? No. From a life long friend? Yes. Someone that has your back until the bitter end is rare and you don't reject them when they tell you to shut the frick up and sit down because they are helping. But Ryu has too much autism for that kind of interaction.
Honestly play whoever you want, no one is that hard in this game. Except maybe Chun.
I feel like Zangief's lariat works as an anti-air only about 60% of the time. Feels like sometimes people can just jump straight through it and attack you.
its pretty slow so you cant do it on reaction
you can definitely do it on reaction.
It doesn't hit crossups if that's what you mean.
Not even that, I've eaten jump attacks from the front while the lariat's been active.
Can SA3/CAs get any faster, this shits taking way too long.

are there any "generic" combos that work across most characters, it seems like crouching mk can almost always be cancelled into a quarter circle move no matter who you play, stuff like that
also can you choose random but filter out characters so you can pick random but exclude characters you dont like?
>Generic combos
All characters have several normals that cancel into any special, and most specials cancel into any super.
Some characters can cancel way more than others, like Ryu can cancel almost all of his normals into a special and most will combo.
Meanwhile, DeeJay's cancelable moves are extremely few, he needs rely on punish counters and using plus frames to link to lights that can cancel into specials.
You could jab jab jab special super on almost everyone.
I fricking hate playing Dee Jay because I know I'm being carried by his bullshit normals and abnormally high damage.
But he's just so cool man...
HEY HEY
HEY HEY HEY
I think that's in your head anon. The game is pretty balanced.

For those who care, doggo Vtuber is playing in tourney right now
She lost.... 🙁
>she
Troons in Japan are still troons

Careful /vt/ jannies have power in all boards.
I've noticed that recently people have been getting banned for saying SEABlack person in threads where people get away with saying "Black person" normally. I can see why.
yeah power to shut the hell up
>>>/vt/
Nobody cares about your queen. Fricking simps.
should I get a stick or a hitbox?
Keyboard
hitbox is cheating but they can't stop you from using it
is this a real character or did some random e-girlgay's OC get placed in my game?
That's a high level NPC that you have to beat to unlock a secret fight
>some random e-girlgay
Awful judgemental for an injun-lover
>injun
Yo, motherfrickers, yeah my name is Abobo
I keep my shit tight though, and all of my homies know
All of the strong Nayshall NPCs are Breath of Fire references
Wow, good find.
The main scenario writer for World Tour is the Breath of Fire creator so it makes sense
a shame World Tour's story isn't even half as good as the worst BoF
Didn't know that, makes a lot more sense why there's so many and Fou-Lou is one of the strongest NPCs in the entire game. Also minimizes the chances that it was a tease for anything new but I've never touched BoF so it doesn't really hurt me.
I'm pretty happy that this just means Capcom hasn't totally forgotten about the IP yet. I don't expect any new games or anything but hell, maybe something like a collection would be cool.
>on a 14 win streak
>Honda joins
>absolutely no idea how to deal with him
>he wins
>hit rematch
>he leaves
>"Just wanted to end your win streak."
>like running more than 2 round sets to lower rematching?
>woops, your opponent picked kimberley! her level 3 gets buffed the more rounds there are in a set
>even if she doesn't hit it!
>even if she loses a round!
>xd!
kim's install is nothing compared to manon medals
Still moronic a character gets a damage and speed buff for spending 3 meters for the entire set when they can still lose a round, miss the super and it scales with how many rounds are in the set
unless the rounds are exceptionally slow kim isn't going to get her buff until halfway through the second round, meanwhile manon can get 3 or 4 medals round one if she guesses correctly enough
Reminder that moderns never get a runback.
>pick intermediate
>win all placements against golds
>win 2/4 against platinum including 1 rq
>rq gets counted as a loss even though it said win before
>get put in silver 3
I got to gold in 15 minutes but I'm still pissed.
Plat 3's reached. I'm coming for that Diamond.
'kay
>think kimberly is pretty ugly
>main her
>think she's cute now
>think she looks better in her 2P costume
>loses the massive forehead
>but also loses the hip windows and tight pants
What a dilemma...
I've had the exact same thought process
maybe later on a new costume will give us both
And the butt jiggle
Truly a conundrum
God this roster is fricking boring. Hope AKI ends up being cool and saves me from these shitty character designs.
God Daigo was so clutch, I can't believe he won and then almost lost.
SURVIVORLIST
>crawl through WT
>"this shit is easy lol"
>get to Nayshall, get throwlooped and Yun'd by Rowlf and lose 8 times in a row
>ALT+F4
we SNK now i see
oh the vthots team tourney is up now
It's nearing the end.
How do these games release new character skins usually? Battle pass or dlc?
DLC, always have. The Battle Pass in SF6 is a very new thing for the genre and I think most people would cry afoul if they had to grind for their Chun/Juri/Cammy coomer alts.
modern honda rules
You'd think 90% all Hondas online are Modern given their reliance on specials in neutral. He has a lot of cool shit in 6 but because of +0 headbutt and a reversal that you have to block on his way down almost nobody does any of it.
Is there a double-breasted jacket for the avatar? Or at least a buttoned-up suit?
There's some office wear you get as you progress. Early game you have to settle for dress pants and a button up + tie. I've seen accurate cosplays of King from KOF so it gets more open later.
28k
now i don't feel like a fraud
Modern Hondas in silver ranks are final boss tier
>Hop into Ranked
>2-0 a Cammy
>Feel good and want to keep that momentum
>Matchmaking dies
Same here, the matchmaking system is shitting the bed today, it seems. I guess it's time to work on my fem Hakan for those avatar BH battles.
Avatar battles are fricking horrible.
From what I've played with my friends I think they're pretty fun. My big gripe with it is that I wish everyone had the same health and did normal damage. Levels+Gear imo should be irrelevant online.
Where are people getting shit for their character in battle hub? is it from playing world tour? The shop has like two shirts and a skirt and thats it.
You get access to more shops and the shops increase their stock as you progress world tour, but also probably half or more of the gear is drops from random street battles.
did korone win yet
No she got beat by everyone except Botan. But to her credit she was the only girl there not using Modern contrls.
oh no fricking rip
The harsh reality of tourney pressure. Hopefully she doesn't get discouraged
Why is this game so fricking addicting despite me being so shit?
It's fun with well designed core and universal mechanics
What does a Random Master look like?
>Hit up a cab in the Hub
>Go 5-6 against a problem matchup
>Get off the cab
>get a "ggs some of the best games I've had your Marisa is godlike" in the chat
Maybe Ranked is a waste of time.
Where the frick do I find andores chain in WT?
Never had so many connection problems before today.
Capcom wants you to watch the vtuber tournament
I'm playing Alpha 2 in the Hub and I don't know if my neutral is really bad or if the AI even mid-game is reading my inputs like crazy.
Probably both. A2's neutral is lots of poking until someone goes for a confirm into CC
Yeah. I'm against Custom Combo as a mechanic so I'm not using it, and I realized that the two characters I beat as one character were still beaten when I tried the next, so I was deeper than I thought. I'm on Bison now and I've probably used 7 or 8 dollars in quarters.
>credit feeding
You didn't beat the game.
Games back then were made to be almost impossible because they wanted to drain your quarters.
I forget which game, I think it was one of the Streets of Rage sequels, that literally had unlockable weapons that you had to pay for in quarters.
Double Dragon 3 for the arcade. It's the first ever recorded example of microtransactions, you could pay extra credits for stat boosts.
That's it, yeah
I did it bros
Good job Ian
Any advice for playing Luke?
>watch CB
>one counter into DR is pretty common
This isn't on reaction, right?
Punish counter does a big boom noise so it's easy to react to. But yeah, it's on reaction.
>on 8w streak
>enter diamond gief
good blanka character. heres a tip: make us whiff normals and use your normals and specials to throw us off
Zangief hands typed this post. They want you to whiff normals and specials so they can scam a round off of you in 3 command grabs.
how did you know?
Thanks anon I almost fell for it. this exact scenario happened to me just now
Sex frick with femBlanka
lukebros we won against the honda menace
How long until people start ERPing in Battle Hub?
Juri has so many combo routes I have no idea what i should be doing, but it's fun.
i had a guy propose to me already
frickin weirdos
If you're playing a cute girl avatar, it already happens
all the time but you have to use abominations so the girl avatars respond to it.
How do you even get on the rooftop of the parking lot? I've finished WT and did most of the side missions.
There's a cop you have to talk to on one of the ramps. Then he's is gonna tell you to talk to another cop during the day
Do you kudos every player? I pretty much just kudos everyone except modern control players, but I've only ever seen two.
Kudos if they beat me always
Has the matchmaking been fricky for anyone else these last couple of hours?
>The team with Blanka, Honda, and Dhalsim is on their way to win this tourney
Why do we hate them again?
Nevermind, they fricking choked
Thanks. I thought I had tried that before, turns out I had to talk to yet another cop on one of the lower floors.
meant for
Lariat goes through projectiles.
Dunno, I guess the only other option is charged HP.
I'm rooting for Diego cuz all Sim players should die
What the actual frick? Japanese streamers are this powerful? I always knew vtubers got a lot on youtube but this amount is insane
/vt/roons are backed by big japanese corps. They know how to market their coombait to lonely losers.
The frick are you on about moron
Not a single person in that pic is a vtuber
There are plenty of them in Daigo and Fuudo's team
>plenty
>2 out of 10 participants in the match
>None of the coaches are vtubers
>None of the hosts are vtubers
Yeah. Plenty of them. Stick to /vt/ if you can't handle people shitting on your garbage subculture.
They have less streamers there so the views are more concentrated
troony thread
now watch daigo choke
Fuudo fed him confidence he's not going to choke after this
I know, but he looks dead inside and outside
I hope SFVII wont' have this shit. Or else I'm done with Capcom fighting games for good.
Literally just play fighting ground, moron.
I skipped SFV, I'll skip SFVI. They really are too ugly. I was hyped for SFIV because of the overall revival of the fighting game genre, but man do I regret Capcom artistic choices.
Nobody cares.
>Platinum Juri
>Platinum E.Honda
>Start doing trials as Lily for fun
>Don't know any combos
>Do placements
>Puts me in Diamond
why
If you won every single placement match then the game will just put you at the highest rank of advanced
Lily is legit just the anti scrub character
>High as frick damage off of just normal pokes, and what combos she does have only does slightly more then HP > HP > HP and is more about screen carry as a result
