Zangief's super armor for his charge grab can survive two regular projectiles, and ONLY for projectiles. Regular attacks and OD projectiles still only take one to knock him out of it. Basically I just want an easier way to approach Dee Jay
The armor & high-profile windows for Phalanx are all over the fricking place. Just make Light high-profile for a long time, Heavy have armor for most of the startup, EX have both, and Medium can stay as-is as a middleground since it has less armor but comes out a good 5-6 frames faster than Heavy. More adjustment than buff but I think she's fine as-is, viable but reliant on conditioning above a certain level because everything she does has a universal answer.

THIS. I only played Jamie in the betas but that shit was just frustrating. I looked it up and drink is 48f startup 2f recovery, 50 total frames and 96% of them are before the drink takes. Make it 25-25 and he's instantly much more dangerous.

It has low damage because you can combo out of it. If you want an easy finisher that also increases your drink level just do parry drive rush -> 2KK>8 -> 8HK -> 2HK>HK>P.
In the corner you can do PDR -> 5MK -> 2KK -> 5HP -> 2HK>H>P which is the only buffer-able route I found to get the 5HP -> 2HK>H>P juggle I mention

If you're in burnout you can medium bakkai or heavy swagger step but the damage without a drive rush is pretty bad

Those are literally the years when SF3 was rediscovered by everyone that wasn't in japan because the scene in japan never died, they had arcades and still have tournaments.
Vanilla 4 was FRICKED UP (Sagat in general, Ryu not far behind, Ultra damage, Seth vs Gief, FADC being accidental) but it was a big deal so people played it (and some pros have said at one point or another that they don't like parries so they probably at least liked that about it). I wouldn't call any version of 4 an outright bad game but there's so much shit that baffles me that got allowed to be in that game over the years that was probably due to Ono having no fricking clue what he was doing (some of it was confirmed to be exactly that).
It's sad that the most solid release of 4 in all ways but the amount of actual content in it is Super, and even then Hawk & Deejay & Dan are just dumpster tier in it. Omega 4 is really cool but there wasn't a real way to play it online IIRC. SFV was a bad game for half of its lifespan but it always got better with time no matter how slowly, 4 fluctuated.
FADC as we know it wasn't originally a planned mechanic, but when people discovered it was possible the team balanced around it instead of removing it.
There were far less "pros" to judge the game but it was largely seen as being quite "cheap" since DP > ultra did more thna 50% and raw ultras did even more, FADC was a very ignorant way out of pressure and also a supremely easy way (compared to past games) of reversing a situation in your favor in one fell swoop.
The input buffer for specials was also aggressive to the point of insanity, you could input a DP almost seconds before they were supposed to come out.
When people say they liked SFIV very VERY few people, if ANYONE will say they liked vanilla SFIV as anything but a joke, that being said I do enjoy trying vanilla sagat and Ryu from time to time with friends in edition select, its really funny watching them shit damage out and be ignorant as frick.

Hawk wasn't exactly the most common character online in 4 and Lily is Hawk with maintenance and distinctly lacks a single button that manages the trifecta of Decent Range + Decent Startup + Cancellable while almost every other character has one. She's also been put on the bottom of nearly every tier list I've seen.

Making this button cancelable would do a lot for Lily without breaking her. It would serve the same purpose as b.HP without the pretty long startup and trading some damage as well, which is totally fair. The best thing she'd get would be Rush canceling it but I think it'd be used just as often for poking into a wind stock or using Spire to get in without doing it at random in neutral.

Pretty common opinion for some reason. I think it's mostly great. Some really bad character themes out there, but all of the stage ones are awesome.
There’s a few diamonds in the rough (like Ryu’s theme) but most of the character themes are just penis music.
4, V, & 6 all have this weird problem of all the worst bits of their OST being among the character themes, which are the most notable tracks in any fighting game. The stage music and most of the standout menu themes and such are excellent, and in 6 in particular some of the best music is in World Tour in places where you're not really expected to sit there and listen for a while; Carlos fricking Miyamoto has a unique theme that's better than over half the playable cast's.
I think the real sticking point with 6 is that Not On The Sidelines is awful. The generic instrumentals SFV & SFVAE had as main themes are forgettable but fine, Indestructible is memorable if nothing else, the SF4 character select is excellent, and of course ST & 3S have music that a lot of people consider legendary. EX series is the best music 3D Street Fighter ever had and Alpha 3's OST kind of blows (Alpha 2's is great though).
It's all over the place. There are some good tracks like the Paris theme and Ken's theme, and then you have shit like Zangiefs theme which sounds like the song Chad Warden used at the start of his vids.
I eventually learned to like it. It's not bad, the composition is decent but its main problem is the lack of catchy hooks.
Jamie's theme is well liked because either has a recognizable hook, while many others don't have it.
It's a good selection of songs, but I understand why some people don't like it. Saying that "it sucks" is just false and an overreaction, but considering that SF always had good music I can somewhat get it.
The menu themes and a couple of stage themes are the only ones I like, everything else is just so mediocre to listen to I sometimes feel like I'm better off muting music and playing my own

You have limited rank protection, if you're above the minimum point threshold and lose a match it brings you to that minimum instead of deranking you. This will keep you in that rank if you can keep like a 33% win rate, since one win gets you more points than one loss you can lose twice for every win without deranking. It's like this in Diamond as well, and when you hit Master rank you're fully protected fro deranks
There's a button to edit accessories when you hover over it. After selecting the general area it opens a second menu where you can edit exact position and size.
I was refering to how, during the brief slowdown, the game stops taking the opponent's inputs which can cause them to press a button and have it not come out.

In the beta I had Steve and the Sumo commentator with the mohawk on for a little while and it was kind of funny but I haven't touched the feature since launching the full game.
Fish for b.HP into 214MP to try and get a bit of damage and a wind stock. With wind basically everything that cancels will convert into Spire (without wind you're mostly stuck with Light Spire unless you land a Heavy, but if you land a Heavy you should be going into getting your wind up instead of spending it unless it kills). Spire to Buster works in the corner if both were boosted by Wind. Punish Counter s.HP's crumple combos into command grab.

If you literally just started you don't even know what you're labbing, get used to the game first and work out the rest as you do
You don't have to lab that much. You only really have to lab to master a specific combo, check why something you did didn't work, and to check why something someone else did worked on you. Might sound crazy to you, but there was a time training mode wasn't a thing in fighting games so a lot of people got good fighting other people and losing.
Labbing is good for practicing combos or just learning your characters in and outs (Frame advantage on moves, what moves are good for certain situations, etc.). If you're just shit at fighting in neutral you're gonna be hardstuck iron.
My best advice would be to watch Master rank gameplay of your character, you get to see what pros use in neutral, how they approach certain situations and even learn new combos you didn't know about. Learning from top level replays does so much more for you than beating up a training dummy for 3 hours ever could other than make you consistent
Yeah but iirc there isn't any filtering by character, the best you can do is sort by latest or by highest rank points and just scroll until you find master rank replays with your character

The starting game is front loaded with content and budget only goes so far, with SF6 breaking records and proving the budget was worth they will get closer to older games release cycles as the execs give them more budget to work with, now that the development hurdle of the 3 modes + launch is past.
It's strategically loaded to get people back in after a weak season 1.
They need to make season 2 good to fight off Tekken 8 release and potentially project L open beta/release, specially after the dlc complaints.
You guys forget how loaded some of the SFV seasons were.
It's easy to forget that these characters were DLC, mostly because they started rolling them out really fast and they were all in the garbage Story Mode. It nearly felt like SFV's low budget lead to some or all of them being cut content shifted over to Season 1; I'd 100% believe that for Alex & Guile, with Akuma being pushed back.

SFV went HARD on esports. They got on ESPN2 (ESPN's producers were why default Cammy & Mika weren't allowed) and there were plans to have SFV as an exhibition for the 2020 Olympics before everything went breasts up globally. Those tracksuits everybody got for free that 80% of the roster looked bad it were going to be the only costume available at the Olympic event.

I can forgive other games for having season pass and dlc characters but a fighting game? Nuh-uh, I bought the game, give me all the fighters. The armor & high-profile windows for Phalanx are all over the fricking place. Just make Light high-profile for a long time, Heavy have armor for most of the startup, EX have both, and Medium can stay as-is as a middleground since it has less armor but comes out a good 5-6 frames faster than Heavy. More adjustment than buff but I think she's fine as-is, viable but reliant on conditioning above a certain level because everything she does has a universal answer.

I dont know. SF4 got me deep into the genre when before I was just a casual whos favorite character was Skullomania.
Vanilla 4 was FRICKED UP (Sagat in general, Ryu not far behind, Ultra damage, Seth vs Gief, FADC being accidental) but it was a big deal so people played it (and some pros have said at one point or another that they don't like parries so they probably at least liked that about it). I wouldn't call any version of 4 an outright bad game but there's so much shit that baffles me that got allowed to be in that game over the years that was probably due to Ono having no fricking clue what he was doing (some of it was confirmed to be exactly that).
It's sad that the most solid release of 4 in all ways but the amount of actual content in it is Super, and even then Hawk & Deejay & Dan are just dumpster tier in it. Omega 4 is really cool but there wasn't a real way to play it online IIRC. SFV was a bad game for half of its lifespan but it always got better with time no matter how slowly, 4 fluctuated.

FADC as we know it wasn't originally a planned mechanic, but when people discovered it was possible the team balanced around it instead of removing it.
There were far less "pros" to judge the game but it was largely seen as being quite "cheap" since DP > ultra did more thna 50% and raw ultras did even more, FADC was a very ignorant way out of pressure and also a supremely easy way (compared to past games) of reversing a situation in your favor in one fell swoop.
The input buffer for specials was also aggressive to the point of insanity, you could input a DP almost seconds before they were supposed to come out.
When people say they liked SFIV very VERY few people, if ANYONE will say they liked vanilla SFIV as anything but a joke, that being said I do enjoy trying vanilla sagat and Ryu from time to time with friends in edition select, its really funny watching them shit damage out and be ignorant as frick.

Making this button cancelable would do a lot for Lily without breaking her. 4, V, & 6 all have this weird problem of all the worst bits of their OST being among the character themes, which are the most notable tracks in any fighting game. The stage music and most of the standout menu themes and such are excellent, and in 6 in particular some of the best music is in World Tour in places where you're not really expected to sit there and listen for a while; Carlos fricking Miyamoto has a unique theme that's better than over half the playable cast's.
I think the real sticking point with 6 is that Not On The Sidelines is awful. The generic instrumentals SFV & SFVAE had as main themes are forgettable but fine, Indestructible is memorable if nothing else, the SF4 character select is excellent, and of course ST & 3S have music that a lot of people consider legendary. EX series is the best music 3D Street Fighter ever had and Alpha 3's OST kind of blows (Alpha 2's is great though).

It's all over the place. There are some good tracks like the Paris theme and Ken's theme, and then you have shit like Zangiefs theme which sounds like the song Chad Warden used at the start of his vids.
I eventually learned to like it. It's not bad, the composition is decent but its main problem is the lack of catchy hooks.
Jamie's theme is well liked because either has a recognizable hook, while many others don't have it.
It's a good selection of songs, but I understand why some people don't like it. Saying that "it sucks" is just false and an overreaction, but considering that SF always had good music I can somewhat get it.
Other than some character themes I think people who says the soundtrack sucks are being overdramatic

You have limited rank protection, if you're above the minimum point threshold and lose a match it brings you to that minimum instead of deranking you. This will keep you in that rank if you can keep like a 33% win rate, since one win gets you more points than one loss you can lose twice for every win without deranking. It's like this in Diamond as well, and when you hit Master rank you're fully protected fro deranks
Winstreaks also don't give bonus points

You don't have to lab that much. You only really have to lab to master a specific combo, check why something you did didn't work, and to check why something someone else did worked on you. Might sound crazy to you, but there was a time training mode wasn't a thing in fighting games so a lot of people got good fighting other people and losing.
Labbing is good for practicing combos or just learning your characters in and outs (Frame advantage on moves, what moves are good for certain situations, etc.). If you're just shit at fighting in neutral you're gonna be hardstuck iron.
My best advice would be to watch Master rank gameplay of your character, you get to see what pros use in neutral, how they approach certain situations and even learn new combos you didn't know about. Learning from top level replays does so much more for you than beating up a training dummy for 3 hours ever could other than make you consistent

Most people in Diamond crumble if you rush them down, and Honda is a big enough bully that you can just do strings into headbutt to frick people up. You just have to be ready to anti-air because people WILL jump to avoid burning out.

How are you gonna git gud against a matchup if you can't play against him or play as him to learn his moves? As far as I'm concerned, the cost of the game is no less than base game + dlc costs, making it a $90 game at this point, plus it'll cost more when they do another season.

There's a 20-50 hour Yakuza clone that serves as a stealth tutorial on how to play fighting games, and then if you decide you don't like fighting games you still got an alright solo game out of it.
it's more of a Yakuza knockoff than a clone. it's easily the lowest quality part of SF6 from the visual fidelity to the story that has literally almost nothing at all to do with the actual SF cast.
