At E3 2019, Suda openly talked about wanting to bring back Captain Vladimir which would have made sense with the alien theme, but people asked about Shinobu. He said he wasn't sure, but then ended up shoehorning her in the final game
spent the entire game shitting on anyone who was his fan. I didn't mind when he designed NMH to be an awful game on purpose or when he did the same thing in NMH3 but he should have at least respected his own canon and the build up from TSA and his trailers instead of spending the whole game being contrarian as possible.
When Kamui ironically tells players to buy The Silver Case and then comes out of nowhere saying "Kill the Past" like it's a jingle catchphrase it's clear that Suda51 reads what the fans liked about his games and knew exactly how to attack them. It's a cheap move that says "Oh you played all my shitty games and cared about the way I connected this shit? Go frick yourself you can go watch Avengers instead"
The truth is Kamui shouldn't have been in the game at all if he wasn't going to at least play that part straight.
I thought the running miike wank gag was funny, though.
They had to gut all the story that would've done more with connecting to the other games due to time restraints. they should've done away with all of it like you said.
Grasshopper has been in business for 25 years and Suda has never worked on a PC port himself. They've all been outsourced. I don't see him starting to care now.
