Doing a quarter or half damage in 70% of trainer battles and wild pokemon fights because it only learns normal and grass moves even with TMs, and grass is probably the worst type to rely on in those games for the average battle. The question is whether or not venusaur is fricking ugly. Stats clearly suggest it is disliked for one reason or another, since red and blue sold nearly equally in the same market while leafgreen sold a whole quarter less than fire red. Most obvious reason is the fricker is hideous and disliked. Not rocket science. Dragons and turtle tanks are cooler than flowertoads.

Where did I say he was easy mode? I made an entire post explaining why he's the worst starter. I'm correcting him after accidentally affirming his entire post when I was only saying I like venusaur. It's complete fricking trash in red and blue compared to blastoise and charizard. It almost feels like they forgot to complete what it can learn with TMs, but they literally updated lesrnsets for yellow and did nothing for it while letting charizard fly.
