Just grinding card games like wildfrost, fairytale fables, monster train. I do enjoy these kinds of games but honestly I need something new now.

I've recently realized that the Nugget source port looks like ass compared to DSDA for some reason.
I honestly couldn't pick something like OG doom up again, just too dated for me but I can appriciate it still being a thing.
It's better than the majority of games out today.
I understand where you're coming from though, the lack of looking up and down and the limitations of the engine are issues. Quake has the potential for better maps due to the actual 3D environment, too bad it only has a small circlejerk making maps for it and they just do the same generic shit over and over.

Tried picking up the spyro trilogy remake again, I played the first game before. Second game was a bit of a drag at times but I can't bear to continue the third game for whatever reason, it's just not very enjoyable so I'm gonna drop it.
Really, the real upgrades in the latter games were the bossfights

This shitty thread should be a decent play to post my genuine opinion.
I've been playing Dark Souls II to see if it's really that bad. Beat it yesterday, beat Sir Alonne this morning. Darklurker and lmao2cat are left, but I don't care anymore. Turns out, it is really that bad, but not (just) for reasons I expected. It has pretty much zero structure. The story barely exists, the levels don't flow well, the gameplay progression is at odds with the game itself (i.e., you get max weapons way earlier). It feels like a mishmash of ideas from the cutting room floor. Some are good, but this doesn't make it an unfinished masterpiece or anything. It just lacks the needed cause-and-effect chains, interconnection for that. In fact, it seems like it fell into one of the most common errors people who try to create something for the first time make: add everything all at once.
I did have some fun smacking enemies with Berserk reference, but it's just a very mediocre game when everything's said and done.
