It was pretty mediocre compared to SMB3 and Yoshis Island and the graphics were shit and soulless as well.
This is one of the games where "blinded my nostalgia" ACTUALLY applies to those who love it.

smb3 looks and feels like dogshit, especially in comparison. the level design was also garbage, while a lot of the levels in world were pretty fun and interesting.

I agree. I don't get the 3 hype.
It is casual compared to the previous entries due to more forgiving rules concerning being hit and picking up items so it is a case of casual is better and casual is more popular hence the easier game is more favored we can also see this with other games where an earlier installment was more difficult but a later installment on another console is more popular for being easier for example LttP is "better" than Zelda 1 and OoT is "better" than LttP.
How is instant shrink no matter what powerup you have more forgiving?

Wait until you meet Chrono Trigger cultists
That one's kino
t. 20 year old boomer
I don't like that one much either

What are some from that era you like?
ALTTP
Terranigma
Yoshis Island
Secret of Mana
I don't necessary disagree with you from a gameplay standpoint but you have no clue what it was like to be a kid when they announced 16-bit systems. The change in graphics was so exciting, all the stores had TV displays of game demos for mario and sonic and we'd just stand in the mall and watch them.
SMB3 and SMW scratch different itches. SMB3 has more aesthetic and difficulty while SMW has more exploration and secrets. Id even argue the nostalgiagays of those days played SMB3 more because the Super Show used the SMB3 aesthetic more.
This is the only good game nintendo ever made lol.
>not as good as Yoshi's Island
I mean I agree but that game is literally titled "Super Mario World 2" and built on the foundation World set.
>zooms talking about games older than the sperm that entered their ugly ass mom
Nice projection lol
My mom may be a prostitute, but she is definitely not ugly, or at least wasn't when she was younger
I am so happy i was able to delay gratification as a toddler and told my mom i didntt want to buy the diddy kong Snes bundle and wait for the mario bundle next week. I got all stars and super mario world, I played yoshis island too and it was one of my favorites. I enjoyed all the early mario games, even lost levels.
Yoshi's Island is a shit game and not a Mario game and I'm tired of pretending otherwise.
Miyamoto says it's a Mario game, and his words hold more weight than yours.
Go back to playing kirby
Kirby Super Star is so much better than Yoshi's Island that it's not even a fricking contest. So yes, I will go back to playing Kirby.
Lmao the meme pick
Daily reminder all kirby games are mediocre 5/10s
Except for DL3
They are literally baby games
Claiming they are superior to YI is moronic. YI could be tough as nails at times.
Yeah, I admit I like it a good deal purely out of nostalgia, and likely so does everyone who also likes this game. Still a very cool game, you won't find any SNES platformer with such an ungodly ammount of secrets like this one. Spinjumpjng on sawblades should've been a Mario staple going forward.
Pretty badly designed because every level can be cucked by the cape.
Using the cape was hard. I always lost it as a kid.
nope
Sorry to break it to you but most people that played this game played it when it the SNES dropped because it came with most systems. Also, most people that played it were actual children at the time because we were not yet in the age of adults still living with their parents past the age of 30 playing fricking Nintendo.
There was nothing wrong with the game and it was way less annoying and way more satisfying to play than the bullshit NES Mario games that were way harder. Not to mention it was fun hunting for the secret areas. Sorry you're wrong on this one buddy.
